Bodyplex Fitness - Hamilton Mill

Negative experience: I used to really like coming to this gym been a member for 5 years - however it seems to be overcrowded - the rise in new members who seem to have no respect for others by either using their phones on tripods in bathrooms in mirrors or taking up more machines at one time or using equipment in a way it wasn’t designed for - examples( bench press area for Bulgarian split squat ) Those who compete know how important it is to be able to excite a routine from start to finish in the order of exercises written - when you can not have consistent access to your routine and the equipment you can not track your progress and therefore there is NO growth - I found it to be more of a waste of time showing up exciting to workout to end up wasting my time not being able to do my workout out and ultimately leaving or trying to work around it which will NoT work long term - it’s gotten to the point that I can not Get motivated to go since almost every time I show up I am unable to do my routine - it is pointless and a waste of time - there are a few people there that do compete many times they workout together so they can hold equipment or have jobs where they can come at times convenient to them- the rise of tripods in the gym has also been an unwelcome distraction and time and space consuming annoyance! I am Hoping with one life opening soon that either this gym will become less crowded or that the new gym is big enough to allow me to be able to maintain my routine so I have can have continued growth - instead of being held at stagnation due to over crowding .

Fantastic experience: I do silver sneakers, and I love it. Each day is something different. 3 years in I really enjoy this gym.

Negative experience: I really wanted to like this gym because of the location and having daycare for my son. When I went inside the adult area and gym equipment was fairly clean but the daycare center was filthy. None of the toys looked liked they had been wiped down or sanitized in months. All the jumpers and activity stations had a thick black film of dust on them which really concerned me. I was told they had 3 sitters during the morning but I only saw 2. There was 1 sitting in front of the tv with the kids and the other was standing by the front for check ins with about 20 kids under 3 running around. I wouldn’t bring infants that are crawling or still putting toys into their mouth because of how dirty the place is. They need to hire someone to do a deep clean especially in the nursery area and toys.

Fantastic experience: I would give it 10 stars if I could. Front desk staff always smiling and willing to help and answer any questions you may have. The facility is clean and all the machines are in great condition. It’s busy but there’s lots of options and equipment to switch to in case you can’t get the spot you want. Great working sauna and pristine washrooms and showers. Not only recommend but would come back every time I am in town

Fantastic experience: Joined thru Silver Sneakers. So refreshing to come to a clean, friendly place with well kept machines and a wonderful Silver Sneakers aerobic class weekdays at noon.

Positive experience: Very chill environment for all ages and fitness levels. Most of the cardio equipment works. But it could use a good deep clean.

Fantastic experience: Before coming here, I didn't know anything about strength training. I thought that machine training and punishment training were different worlds. However, I feel myself changing every day. I love the grine team training and various machine training. I can feel myself overcoming my limits. Challenge your limits today. The coaches and staff here are very friendly and professional. Body Flax is an excellent fitness center in our town.

Fantastic experience: Sauna fixed!! Love the gym!

Fantastic experience: This gym has friendly staff. The times I've been it has not been overly packed, music is not too loud and it has been an enjoyable experience. The only downside is that in the main area the TVs only have sports on which can be boring for those who don't follow sports.

Positive experience: Used to give it a 5 but now it’s super crowded, equities up against each other and the music is soooo loud that you can’t listen to your own music. I’ll probably switch gym due to the loud obnoxious music. It’s like being in a bad dance club.

Fantastic experience: A bit crowded, But all the machines are well oiled, kept clean, all dumbells are there, up to 150, and multiple sets. Staff is friendly. I enjoy working out here, and I don't understand the negative reviews. The newer machines upstairs give a great pump, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Only complaint is how small the building is, but thats not really something they can change, so I give 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy working out at this gym. The atmosphere is always so welcoming and enjoyable. The staff is incredibly pleasant and makes a point to greet you with a smile every time you come and go. Greg and Brandi are especially fantastic – they are always ready to help whenever needed. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a friendly and supportive place to work out!

Fantastic experience: ** Edited - Mr. Cleve Long (founder) took the time to personally call me and was extremely apologetic about my unsatisfactory experience. He was very sincere and pleasant to speak with. Happy to say that I joined and became a member of Bodyplex Fitness - Hamilton Mill location! ** Called to inquire about pricing and after my trial period, they are charging a more expensive monthly fee. Front staff (Jennifer) has terrible customer service. When asked to have Owner consider honoring the original quoted price, she stated that prices are increased due to staffing salaries (she never asked the owner/mgr). Additionally, I contacted the business via online messaging through the website but no response. This is not how you recruit more customers!

Negative experience: Only giving two stars because yes, it’s a gym and it does have equipment. However… it’s crowded, and not just a regular gym crowd. It’s a crowd of teenagers with zero regard for gym equipment or gym etiquette. Management doesn’t address these issues, so the teenagers continue to take over and run wild as if it’s an after-school program. They don’t open until 9am on Sundays, which is a little late in my opinion. They’ve added some new equipment (which is great), BUT the equipment is literally stacked on top of each other, so I hope you enjoy working out in close quarters. The gym definitely is not ADA compliant. There’s a serious lack of mirrors in the gym also, so good luck checking your form in what they call the “Grind Room” or in the upstairs area. The area where the squat racks and free weights are has literal dips in the floor from weights being dropped/slammed. They don’t have deadlifting platforms, so if you want to lift heavy, you risk damaging the floor. The front desk staff does need improvement, with the exception of Jen and Paul. They’ve always been very helpful and not stuck on themselves. I cannot say the same for other front desk staff members. Some of the “trainers” don’t really do the best job at selling themselves as trainers or attempting to recruit clients for training. For example, one of the trainers in particular will stand around the gym and place judgment on members genuinely trying to work out. I do find it odd that employees and also family members of employees have written reviews for this location, which is comical. I truly believe if you can’t get reviews by paying members and have to “recruit” reviews, that says a lot about the business. If you’re serious about actually working out, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a hangout where you can drop your kids off in the gym daycare, this is your spot. I’m also fully expecting a defensive reply (as they’ve given to several others who’ve left honest reviews) and I’m okay with that.

Positive experience: Great gym but feels crowded since it’s in a heavily populated area. The day care staff are what convinced us to join, our babies loved going there.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I’ve EVER been to. The equipment is always very clean as well as the bathrooms. The employees are always very kind and respectful. Overall, great atmosphere!

On day 1, I was impressed with the entire operation including the friendliness of staff, amount of well maintained equipment and the attention to detail and cleanliness. I know the founder personally and I know that it is his intent that BodyPlex provides a high level of quality service each and everyday. I am now 20 years into my relationship with BodyPlex and I know each and everyday that BodyPlex is still striving to meet each and every members needs on a daily basis.

Fantastic experience: a great gym and a great staff!! new equipment is so great, and i love the selection of drinks and snacks they have in the lobby. very clean and functional, with lots of space for individual workouts. overall, a fantastic gym!!

Positive experience: Facilities are good. Various workout machines and rooms. Good enough for a decent workout . Only downfall was the front desk reps. This was my first time here. Apart from the unnecessarily long time it took for either of them to even acknowledge me, the rep was unfriendly and did not make me feel welcomed or wanted (checked out Golds Gym the day before and omg the manager there was SO kind & SO friendly and gave me a tour). I don't think I even got a smile out of these yt women. Also, Bodyplex and whatever your name was who "helped" me (since you didn't even introduce yourself), if your company site doesn't say "download app to access guest pass" how the hell am I supposed to know to do so? I signed up for a guest pass through the site. Miss ma'am, instead of being kind and letting me know their site is incorrect (a problem that is THEIRS and not MINE) used this as an opportunity to be rude and condescending toward me. I seriously wanted to walk out but the only saving grace is that I literally will never have to talk to any front desk rep ever again. Sign up online - use barcode to enter gym. Don't speak to me and I won't ever have to speak to you.

Positive experience: I love it, very convenient for a mom they have childcare

Fantastic experience: Not sure why there’s some negative reviews, people complain about anything it seems like. I’ve been going to this gym for a year ish now and I absolutely love it. I’ve never had an issue with anything and they actually have recently added tons of new equipment, upstairs and down. This gym has pretty much everything I have ever needed for my workouts, so many different spaces to workout and the staff has always been friendly and the manager is the sweetest! The hours are perfect, facility, always clean, etc. Best gym in this area for sure.

Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I canceled my membership well before the next months payment and they still charged me several months after. They even went to the extreme to get a lawyer to reach out to me. These people do not care one bit about the satisfaction of their customers. DON’T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!

Fantastic experience: It seems they are very receptive to feedbacks. They are continusouly improving and the 2nd floor new freemotion cable machines are exceptional. I hope one day, they would add decline bench machine

Negative experience: RUDE unreasonable staff. They wouldn't accept my membership through Active Fit even though they are still under contractual obligation with the organization to do so. They cant cancel with A&F because of the current members utilitizing it, they just wont accept anymore. I'm out 2 months and an initiation fee because of thier Active and Fit grift that they still perpetuate that was recommended to me from another Army Veteran I met there during a trial day. Decent gym, way overcrowded, awkward setups...no loss on my part.

Fantastic experience: Good environment, nice staff and customers, nice equipment. If you go around prime hours, good luck getting equipment in the free weights area though.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous gym! Fantastic instructors! Huge variety of classes. Zumba, Step, Spin, Yoga, Grind, Les Mills Body Pump, Body Attack, Kickbox, and more! Plus all the weight machines and treadmills if you like that kind of thing. I've been coming for years!!

Negative experience: I had the unfortunate experience of joining this gym, and it's been nothing short of a nightmare. The front desk staff is shockingly unprofessional, with an attitude that suggests they'd rather be anywhere else but there. To make matters worse, when I inquired about the contract, they couldn't explain the terms, and it's evident they have no understanding of the details themselves. As if that's not frustrating enough, the equipment here is a joke. Most of it is outdated, in disrepair, or missing altogether. They do not even have an incline barbell press. Save yourself the headache and your hard-earned money. This gym is a shining example of how not to run a fitness center. Good luck speaking to management or getting a response.

Positive experience: Place is so clean and staff is very friendly. Patrons are also nice. My wife and I love this place. Best part its really close to our home. Only thing I wish they were open a little longer Friday and stairway. Also open earlier Sunday.

Negative experience: No mirrors in group exercise room. Doesn't feel safe doing yoga and not being able to check form in the mirror.

Negative experience: I wish they had more equipment for weights. For each part of body. They only have 2 cable machines. And they are always occupied so forget about every doing cable crossovers. Fees are higher than LAF****. So I was expecting lot better and more equipment. Unfortunately no. The restrooms are in decent shape. Showers are spacious. Sauna is a plus for me. But forget about brushing your teeth. The sinks are right next to loos so your get bad oder in that part of men's room. I hope they put 1 cable machine upstairs next to the spin class room. I usually go at 5 am. And it's still packed in the gym. Just don't know when to go.

Negative experience: Scam scam scam. During covid they still charged everyone the monthly fee. Reasoning was that they still provided “videos” online. Called to cancel. Account was never closed - now I have a negative mark on my credit score bc of them. Don’t waste your time or money on this pos over priced gym. Edit : I did try to cancel the young girl on the line said it would be done. Your charge is still on my credit score. Beware of this place.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for approximately 1 year. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and their when needed. They have a KidsPlex to care for your children while you get a workout in. The facility is very clean. The equipment is of high quality and in great condition. People are nice to one another like in a friendly community. Im not going anywhere! Thank you Body Plex!

Negative experience: We waited a year for them to install the ever evasive sauna. Seriously a year and it’s still sitting in the hallway. Brought about 8 New member never received any benefits. Billing is nonsense, bill what they want, equipment is dated. How it’s gets 4.8 is laughable. It’s a neighborhood hangout. If you can see past all it’s short comings, rude morning “buela” to greet you, and being constantly lied to, share the kool aid, and of course enjoy the sauna. LOL

Plenty of equipment throughout the rest of the gym, but I go at 5AM, so I don’t know how busy it is throughout the day.

I didn't see any beauty contestants or showoffs. Lockers were available. A full wall of healthy bars and drinks available also. Lots of parking.

Fantastic experience: This was my first ever gym where I got a membership, and I gotta say that this place is amazing. The service is friendly overall, and it feels like you have a community in the gym when you’re a regular. They have great trainers, and I’m so blessed to have spent 9 months here before I leave for college! They’re by no means a powerlifting or bodybuilding gym, but if you want to begin your fitness journey in a welcoming and clean environment, there is no better place in the Hamilton Mill area than this!

Fantastic experience: I moved to GA mid covid, BODYPLEX was the first gym to bring back childcare so I immediately signed up to get back in the gym. I’m so GLAD I joined. This place is like one big family but with high quality equipment and super friendly staff. My kids love going to the kidsplex too which is a huge perk. I’ve met some amazing people here and the atmosphere is always motivating. If you’re looking to switch gyms this is your spot.
