Lawndale Christian Fitness Center

Negative experience: My elderly parent goes to the fitness center for seniors and doctor orders. Of course there's people that come into the sauna selling things, at the workout equipment selling things. This is so not right, they are preying on the elderly and probably watching their every move. I feel one day they will approach them outside and try to rob them. I will report this to the powers that be. Be careful sending your elderly parents there, as they not protected from drifters. I will have him go to a decent area fitness center where they keep an eye on suspicious activity. I will contact the Alderman and Mayor's office, hopefully they can do something.

Fantastic experience: Not sure who is in charge of running this place but it’s very well put together. My husband and I love coming to this gym. It’s super clean and the staff is super friendly and involved!! I’m here all the time and I see the staff walking around all the time. I can easily say I feel safe here. Membership are extremely reasonable. I see why a lot of people would want to come here.

Negative experience: Putting a gym there was a good idea sometime ago. The weight room looks more like something a person would have in their basement in their home. In order for a person to get a good workout they would have to go there by 7:00 in the morning. The few times I have gone I have struggled to finish my workout because there were too many people for that extremely small workout area. YOU MOST DEFINITELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Negative experience: Lost a day of work and an hour worth of gas for the drive to the dental clinic just for them to not take my little girl, even the people in the front desk are surprised at how much they aren't willing to work, like their own staff said "you get here on time but they make you wait the remaining of the time so they won't take you."

Fantastic experience: Went there with my buddies. Got drunk there and and left sober.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Affordable membership, plenty of equipment.

Fantastic experience: Convenient parking available. Clean equipment policy in place. Sanitizing bottles and paper towels are readily available. Classes, group activities and equipment are available. So you can work out with friends or do the lone wolf thing. No one bothers you and that's key.

Fantastic experience: I've been a client/patient here for a lil over two years and I must say they really seem to care about their clients more than it's just a job obligation. They also cover a lot of ground such as medical dental and mental health... They even cater to people who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse with onsite recovery meetings and help with placing people to other treatment programs if wanted... free meal tickets are given to folks who attend group and art activities to an awesome nearby restaurant who specializes in the best sub sandwiches including but not limited to philly chicken and barbecue pork beef and chicken subs. A highly recommended establishment.. Josh, Brittany and Brie are just a few staff members who I've had the pleasure to meet. Keenan Jones

Fantastic experience: I've been to 3 other gyms in the past year and this one is hands down the best. Only 15$ a month and its low key. Not too many people and enough machines for everyone. I usually go around 11am and its a perfect time to go. Staff is also friendly.

Fantastic experience: There is a variety of machines one can chose from. The employees there are kind and very helpful. With the membership there are free classes either in person or virtual and access to the sauna. There is a track and beautiful views of the city. You will see maintenance around often, meaning they are really great about keeping the place looking neat. Their prices for the membership are very affordable. Of course there are restrictions, but nothing out of this world. I believe it’s only two people per house hold can obtain the membership. Since the place is small they want to give everyone a chance to get to use it. Over all I have nothing bad to say. Thank you Lawndale Christian fitness center!

Fantastic experience: It has a nice selection of different workout equipment. I love the layout and have a nice environment. The staff is very friendly as well. Everyone seem to be cleaning everything when they are done with it. There are different areas that they have for you to go in. Like a studio or a weight area and room for you to dance as well.

Positive experience: Almost everything is fine, but when people have a leg routine, they will join a chest routine because there is no chest bench. With a new chest bench, almost everything would be solved

Negative experience: Edit: used to be a five star, but this woke gym has lost our business. Jan 3 fully vax or negative covid test… every 72 hours by a medical professional only. Basically it’s vax or nothing. Supposedly a Christian gym, showing no deference for religious objectors. Equally as spineless, members who are medically exempt are not reasonably accommodated. They say it’s for safety. Any member can testify that masks are not taken seriously here. This isn’t about safety. I canceled our memberships. Our Rogue order will be in next week so there isn’t one reason to come back. Go woke, go broke.

Fantastic experience: I've been been a member for 3 years now. It's what I look for in a gym. The staff is friendly, as are the members, there's no complicated contract or yearly fee, you can book appointments for a 1 hour and 15 minute workout. Open as early as 5:30am. 2nd floor had a track to run (currently closed due to covid). I would encourage anyone in North and South Lawndale to become a member.

Positive experience: I've been going to this pediatrics facility since I was a kid, and now my kids go. However, they really need better phone service. If I return a call I'm literally being transferred in circles til someone hangs up on me.

Negative experience: I walked 3 miles with my nephew in the heat to go get a work out in. When I get there they didn’t let my nephew in even though the plan comes with 1 FREE guest per month. They didn’t let him go in. That’s a bunch of bull why didn’t they put that in their website that. In their website it clearly says 1 free guest a month that’s what I pay for and it says it comes included with my plan. I WILL NOT BE STAYING WITH THIS GYM and their lies!!!

Positive experience: I've been coming to this gym for about a year I would say. I have grown to love not only the place, but everyone here as well. I enjoy the equipment it has for all fitness levels. One thing I did notice though is this gym doesn't offer chalk. I was wondering if this was a temporary thing, due to covid, because I don't recall there ever seeing chalk. I believe it would be appreciated by myself and many others if this gym would offer complimentary chalk to everyone as many other gyms do. But overall this gym is great.

Negative experience: I didn't know that you were open again I never received a notification about it. I just found out when I was checking my bank statement, that you have been charging me. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: Lawndale Christian Fitness is doing an excellent job making sure they follow social distance protocols. Plus, the entire gym is spotless and they give each member a disinfectant bottle to wipe off the equipment.

Fantastic experience: I go to this gym just to spend time and learn from their staff member Anthony. Such a caring young man -- and very knowledgable about health and fitness. I wish other gyms had this quality of staff-- but alas, they do not.

Fantastic experience: I go for spin class on mondays and wednesdays. I'm not a small girl and I was very scared to walk in this class. The amazing lady geneva made me feel so welcomed. She pushed me to levels I never knew I could go. I'm so excited for mondays and Wednesdays to come to her class!! I have learned to push my self and keep pushing even when I wanna stop. Spin class is a must if u wanna burn a lot of calories and push yourself!!

Fantastic experience: I decided to join Christian center because they have an indoor track. Which is amazing and prepared me for the CPD physical test. And my husband decided to join because of the half basketball court. The member ship for 2 adults was $40 a month. If you add a card to your account they will take off $5 per month which TOTAL to $35 per month. The initial fee was $15. When we first signed up we paid $50, they also have day passed for $5. The price is very reasonable and they have free parking, the staff is nice and helpful, the establishment is very clean and I love their fruitsy smoothies and so much more. This place have everything I am so glad I found them.

Fantastic experience: First off, I love the fact that it's Christian based. The music is really uplifting. The staff is friendly, but the people working out has become like a family, very friendly, helpful, encouraging and inspiring!!
