Fantastic experience: Best place for a workout it's helped me to get back in shape

Negative experience: Unhappy with the billing process

Negative experience: Trash gym has the option online to get a free day pass but can’t even use it. $20 not worth it when I don’t know what the gym is like. Free day pass not valid during school breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter or Spring) or from December 20th - January 31st, and from Memorial Day to Labor Day. So when can you use it? never! What a joke!

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this gym with a day pass, which costs $20. While this is on the higher side, I found it to be worth it. The gym has a clean and open environment with a cool vibe that makes working out enjoyable. It offers a wide variety of equipment, perfect for even experienced lifters. Everything was in good working condition, although some of the attachments for the cables could use refreshing. Also no full length mirrors in the workout areas “only major recommendation”. Overall, my experience was positive, and I would recommend this gym to others looking for a quality workout space.

Fantastic experience: Friendly clean and smells good. Great service , the employees are awesome.

Negative experience: buyer beware I looked at other reviews and it seems they have a habit of fraudulent charges. In my case I visited the gym and cancelling my membership over 1.5 years ago, I just got a call from a collection agency asking for $500.00. Of course there is a new manager there and they insisted on payment. It's a gym after all I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the poor management and shady business practices. The response from the manager was "You signed a 6 month commitment but the contract was for a year". What a crook. I will not be paying a single dollars to this shady gym. *** Regarding the gym's response to my post. Number one they never offered to settle 70% of my bill that's completely false. When I left the gym I was friends with the old manager whose name was Mark just like mine we also shared a birthday. I talked with Mark, the prior manager, directly before I left for Nashville, so I could also tell him goodbye. I told him to cancel my membership and he said he would take care of it. Fast forward a year and I get contact from a collection agency with a charge of $500. The new manager could have considered my story and review my record.... BUT no, I got the "it's in your contract" position. What a jackass and a bad business guy.

Negative experience: Here me out Gym is great service is absolutely terrible they have the worst plans they charged me 386 dollars for an agreement they said I signed but never did. This gym will take all your money and they are complete frauds pls for the life of you don’t go to this gym I went there for a day pass and they billed me Almost 400 dollars

Negative experience: Definitely stay away from this place. They have a history of scamming customers, hostile employees, and unfair business practices.

Fantastic experience: I give this gym an A+. I got a one month membership for my two week vacation and I loved coming here to workout. It is well equipped, spacious, kept at a comfortable temperature and clean. The best things were the staff were always friendly and the patrons were all there to workout! Even though I was there for a short time I felt part of a community of serious folks (of all ages and abilities—I’m 59) all truly focused on training. Yes, the younger kids like to gaze at their phones between sets, but in my 6 or 7 visits over weeks I didn’t have to sigh to myself even once because of clowns taking selfies or ego lifters slamming weights on eccentrics they couldn’t control. I felt totally at home doing my thing and confident that I wouldn’t be distracted by nonsense that often occurs in commercial gyms. I used barbells, dumbbells, weight machines, pull-up and dip setups and the peleton—I only had to wait for a piece of equipment or adjust my workout once. The two downsides were it was a little pricey for a one month membership (not sure how the other reviewer got a $90 deal) and I found it a little dark, particularly in the room with the turf and multiple squat racks. I I’ll use them again in the future and recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: They can accommodate short term memberships for visitors. 90 dollars for a month of visits was a great deal. No recurring charges. Pay once...and done.

Negative experience: The front staff is just rude and awful. I am a F1 student and I will live in the Cape for this next year or 2. I wanted to find a gym that worked for me, and as I live in Barnstable, I thought Fitness500 would be the perfect fit. I saw in their website that they offer a free day pass to people from the Cape, so I called and asked if I could come in that afternoon. They said ok, I emailed them with ALL MY DOCUMENTS, mail from the government, the acceptance letter from the school I will study, insurance and everything. I arrived and the man in the front desk was just awful. He kept asking questions even after I showed him all the documents I had that proved I live in the Cape. He was everything but welcoming. He said he did not believe me and a lot of people just wanted to come in for free. I felt ashamed and sad. I have the money to pay for it. I ended up paying $20 for the day, but it was the worst workout of my life, I just felt bad being there. He was SUPER rude. I ended up going to YMCA and not regret it! People there are very sweet.

Positive experience: Really nice equipment.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal gym. It's laughable to me that people put 1 star. If you had one bad experience on visit it doesn't merit a 1 star. Staff is always very nice, Keith gave me a free sports stretch, and the members are good people. Always clean and love the equipment. Worth $30/month easily. Sauna still isn't working but hey can't have everything in life. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: They don't care about customer, new staff are very friendly is not they fault, but the manager is never on the location to fix problems , especially when you want to cancer you membership . They don't care about complaints , don't recommend this place no more, I being member for 6 years and now they still charged my credit card and they can't stop my automatic recharges worst system.

Negative experience: Overpriced gym, no towel service, no soap in showers, steam room indefinitely out of service. I tried the gym once and realized how poorly ran it was and the didn’t want to refund my membership. Front desk has terrible customer service.

The gym itself is spacious, always cleaned to perfection, and offers a wonderful assortment of well-kept workout machines, free-weights, and everything in between. Negative experience: When you scroll down and see dozens of 5 star reviews all written around the same time, it’s bc the gym gave $5 discounts off memberships to anyone who wrote them a 5-star review. Is this even legal?!! Very unethical at best. Decent gym, centrally located, fun classes and staff, with the exception of some weird staff member named Hawkin who is a rather large dude that walks around and creeps on people working out. Just odd. Makes me uncomfortable.

Fantastic experience: Ignore the review on the bottom, from Elizabth, that's from some TV watcher that thinks covid attaches to the dust particles on the wind. There is a lot of room inside this gym and people keep their distnace. This gym is state of the art. All equipment is working and well maintained. It's the best gym on the Cape if you know what you're doing in the gym. Lots of room and the trainers are trained well.

Fantastic experience: The best gym on the Cape. The staff are really nice and always welcoming. They have a 1-week membership, which is convenient for me. The place is very well-equipped — I never have to wait for any machines or free weights. The dumbbells go up to 120 lbs too, which is a plus. The overall set up of the place is well-organized and very clean. They have plenty of wet wipes and cleaning supplies. Moreover, all of the benches look like they were just upgraded with new material. Most of the members also seem pretty serious about fitness, so it provides for a nice atmosphere for working out.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were both members of Fitness 500 since moving to the Cape in 2012.. We loved the environment and the personal touch offered by its staff. Specifically, Justin served as an exemplary trainer for my husband as he struggled with health issues that affected his mobility. Justin went above and beyond to adapt exercise so he could continue to be active. I highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I have ever been to! Always kept clean and organized, very spacious with lots of different equipment. My personal favorite is the functional fitness room with the indoor turf, a lot of creative exercises can be done in that area. The people that work there is what really makes the gym a great place though! Incredibly kind, energetic, encouraging and considerate. They truly are enthusiastic and believe in keeping a healthy lifestyle!

Fantastic experience: I lived on the Cape for 4 months this year and was very happy with Fitness500. The membership process was a breeze, the staff was always very polite, and the gym was kept very clean and organized. The hours allowed me to get my early morning workouts in, and all other members kept a good distance / to themselves as to give everyone ample space - especially during the pandemic. I would highly recommend this gym if you're looking to keep those gains if you find yourself on the Cape for any period of time over a week. They offer an affordable monthly option. I never asked about a weekly membership but I get the feeling they would accommodate that as well.

Fantastic experience: I love Fitness 500! There are plenty of machines to fit your workout needs. Even at the bussiest times, I have not had a problem getting a quality workout. I have been a member of 5 different gyms over the years and I have to say this is by far the best on the cape. The staff are very friendly and professional. The machines are very well maintained and the gym is kept very clean. They have consistantly made improvements and updates over the years. I have felt very safe and confident with the precautions being taken for covid. There is plenty of room to space out and everyone is very respectful. Fitness 500 has done a great job adapting through these difficult times by spacing out the machines and providing sanitizing product and wipes all throughout the gym.

Fantastic experience: I joined Fitness500 years ago right after it opened in Hyannis and have been going there as much as I can ever since. It's a great place for exercising - whether you want a cardio work out, lift weights or take a yoga class. The staff is friendly, the exercise rooms are spacious and the locker rooms and showers are clean. If you are looking for a good place to go to for exercise, look no further.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and proffessional staff that can bring you to where you want to be. The gym is the best anti depressant and confidence booster there is. You can get a nutrition plan and workout regimen all there. So much better then planet fitness, lots of variety in equipment!

Fantastic experience: Fitness 500 hands down has the most involved and motivated staff, giving the members someone to inspire to be. They keep up to date equipment clean as possible with all available resources to wipe down and keep clean during this crisis. It’s very helpful that 500 reopened to keep myself busy through the tough times. I try to get in there as much as possible With free time aside from work. The young healthy workers always bring a positive vibe, bringing me back to feel welcome and ready to get in shape.

Fantastic experience: I worked with Justin initially in training and he gave me various exercises and weight training ideas to try. The equipment was in great condition and there were many options that provided a diverse workout experience. I really enjoyed using the Pelaton bikes, strengthening area and fitness classes. I did the Yoga, Zumba and other classes. They were all great workouts! I highly recommend this gym! Also, the trainers were friendly and very motivational.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Fitness 500 for years and have always had a positive experience. The staff always says hello when you walk in and the personal trainers are very friendly and helpful. Over the years I've taken numerous classes, had one on one personal training, as well as group training and all of my experiences were A+. The personal training room is a good size and has some privacy for anyone feels a little shy at the gym. The equipment is clean and plentiful. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of quite a few gyms and Fitness 500 is my favorite. They have all the equipment I need and it's clean and the staff and trainers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about keeping fit and customizing programs. My 88 year old mother joined this gym and her trainer has helped her with balance and endurance. I love that the gym and equipment are clean and members are diligent wiping the machines down when they are finished working out on them. The wipes and sprays are accessable in many locations throughout the facility. If you are looking for a gym to join. I highly recommend Fitness 500!

From my initial email forward, I have found the staff to be amazing! Great communication, top notch training services, and to boot the gym is roomy, clean and very diverse it its equipment. Positive experience: I have been a member since 2017 and appreciate that the majority of people cleaned their machines prior to Covid and now it is only one or two that might not. They have a wide variety of classes, morni ng and evening, many machines, (Peleton) and multiple free weight stations for spreading out. I feel safer there than in Grocery store where.everyone is touching stuff and putting it back.

Positive experience: Trainers are knowledgeable and friendly, a good value. Gym membership is diverse and there is a great variety of equipment, always making changes for the better.
