The Ashland Yoga Center was founded in 1988 and offers a variety of yoga styles and wonderful yoga teachers and yoga therapists.

The Ashland Yoga Center is a community that is diverse, inclusive, and welcoming. We offer many different types of yoga to meet the variety of goals and needs that our students bring to their mats. Our intention at the AYC is to empower Southern Oregon's yoga community through our classes, workshops, and teacher trainings.

The Ashland Yoga Center is a great place to explore the practice of yoga and improve your health. They offer options for beginners and advanced practitioners alike, so you can find the right class for your needs. If you have specific therapeutic needs or just want a great workout, the Ashland Yoga Center is the perfect place for you.

This yoga is for anyone, no matter their age or physical condition. Everyone works at their own level and beginners are welcome. Age and ability are no barrier to practicing. The goal is to strengthen and stretch the body, not to contort it into strange shapes. This restores the body's natural range of motion and increases energy flow throughout the body.

The most common misconception that prevents people from coming to a yoga class is that you have to be flexible to do yoga. But that's not true! Yoga is about finding a balance between strength and flexibility in your body.

Regular yoga practice can have many benefits, including reducing stress, increasing blood circulation, and improving strength and flexibility. It can also help alleviate the symptoms of chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and thyroid disorders. Additionally, yoga promotes relaxation and can help improve posture. Our students have often reported experiencing significant relief from chronic back pain after practicing yoga regularly.

If you feel sore after class, it is normal. It is a good workout and you are using muscles you probably haven’t used in a while. Muscle soreness is a buildup of lactic acid. It may seem impossible to imagine that coming back for more will help, but stretching is THE BEST way to relieve the soreness. If you wait too long to come back, then you will be starting all over again.

If you're just starting out, it will take your body at least three classes to get used to the proper posture. After about ten classes, your body will start to cooperate with the postures.

After that, it is our experience that practicing three times per week will provide you with good results and practicing five times per week is optimal for growth and healing.

Practicing regularly has positive effects on the body that build up over time. Every time you practice, you're making a deposit of health and energy into your body. The more you practice, the more deposits you make, and the more vitality you receive. Just like with any other activity, such as running, skiing, or biking, the more you practice, the more enjoyable and rewarding the experience is.

In Hatha Yoga, you should try to find a balance between pushing yourself hard and respecting your body's limitations. Patience is one of the most important things to remember in this practice.

If you're willing to put in the work, you'll see results. Most of your progress will come from simply showing up to your classes consistently. If you can commit to at least three classes per week, you'll start to see real changes in your wellbeing.

If you trust in the process and have faith that your body can do what others before you have done, you will be successful. It is important to maintain focus, proper alignment, and a consistent practice. Hatha yoga is the art of balancing patience and determination in the body. You should let go of expectations but be prepared to work hard if you want to see significant changes in your body.

To get the most out of your yoga session, move slowly and fluidly, paying attention to each pose. Spend an equal amount of time entering and exiting each pose. Don't rush into the deepest extension of each pose; instead, take your time and focus on each breath. The deepest extension of each pose should be intense but still enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: I've been on two amazing yoga retreats with Natalie. Her retreats are not only delightful, they are transformative! She has decades of training and experience, as well as a rare attunement to the individual needs of each student. After both retreats, I came a away with valuable insights and techniques. She gave me specific tools and suggestions to improve my chronic aches and injuries. Your body will thank you and your life will be enriched. On and off the mat, Natalie creates a safe, nurturing and adventurous space to explore, expand and have a whole lot of fun!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Krista Holland's 9am to 10:30 yoga class (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and she is incredible! I appreciate her varied practice and how she can easily modify her instructions to accommodate the students' skill level. The studio is tidy and bright with natural light, and the people who work at the center are truly wonderful. Ashland is a great place to live, but the Ashland Yoga Center is what makes me feel rooted. During today's class, I had a man from Chico, CA practicing beside me. At the end of class, he said that I was very lucky to have such an amazing teacher and facility to practice yoga. I agreed and decided that I needed to write a review to express my gratitude.
