Negative experience: Had a first visit scheduled today with Chris L. Waited outside for 20 minutes while someone let us in and said that they don’t have any staff today… Chris no showed and wasted my time today.

Fantastic experience: GREAT GYM!! Body Renew has got a clean, modern facility with a great selection of equipment for strength training and cardio, making it easy to stick to my routine. The staff/trainers are pretty chill and help you reach your goals. For the pricing it’s a solid gym that keeps me renewing my membership month after month.

Positive experience: This gym is conveniently close to me & I love that u can get a membership that allows 24 hr access. New staff is nice & welcoming. I appreciated when i mentioned the gym needed new mats to my trainer, the same week we got new mats...maybe a coincidence, but way over due from previous management. I also love how there are not many people, so it almost feels like you have the whole gym to yourself. I do feel the gym can improve on floor cleaning. I find clumps of dust bunnies from time to time and when stretching next to a treadmill, I find dirt on the floor from the treadmill belt. Per an environmental stand point, i don't like all the paper towels they have for wiping down machines. I wish they used washable rags, which wld prob b cheaper for them in the long run. Even though i have the most expensive membership, I do like the perk of bringing a friend for free. My husband came with me to the gym last week. Oh & another area of improvement is offering exercise classes, not just zumba for the price I pay.

Negative experience: I’ve been going to body renew for about 5 years now. Pros: they have great gym equipment. They are open during hours that work for me. Members and trainers are pretty friendly. Cons: I’m growing increasingly frustrated with the same issues. I can only be so understanding of the circumstances. These are ongoing issues that are not being resolved. The gym is dirty. For example, trash cans are always full. It’s dusty and there’s hair and toilet paper on the floor. The sinks are rusted and only 2-3 of the 5 sinks work in the women’s locker room. There’s no hot water and a less than motivating sign about “cold water promoting circulation” was posted instead. I think members would much rather an ETA for when this issues be fixed. There’s always a shower running water and pooling large puddles on the floor. The staff at the front desk are unprofessional. They either seat at the desk with their cellphone in their face and knees to their chest or they are no where to be found (or when you do find them, they are off chatting with their boyfriend/crush, following them around). Before, you’d be greeted and told goodbye with a smile and from staff who wore uniforms/looked professional. The BR ride classes just disappeared. So there’s two rooms (daycare room) just sitting, not being utilized, but trainers have to conduct their group classes where everyone else is working out? I don’t think that’s fair to the members or the trainers. The quality of this gym is going down hill and I’m at the point where I’m deciding whether to go somewhere else for my workouts. I mean, seriously. I could pay less and get more by going to planet fitness. They used to be better. There’s a real lack of care, professionalism, and quality. It’s so sad.

Negative experience: Equipment is good. Unfortunately just found out they have been charging me for the last two months even though I haven't been since finding a gym closer to my house. Currently disputing those transactions with my bank and will be paying body renew a visit to see if I can recoup my money. It's a shame b/c other than the shady business practices it's a good gym. Edit: they have continued charging me. This time at a rate of ~1 month every two weeks. I'll be changing cards with my bank, continuing to dispute their transactions & may very possibly be in contact with legal council in order to try and recoup my lost money. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINES!

Negative experience: It is impossible to cancel membership!! Was told to fill out a form for the cancellation process. Did that months ago but they continued to charge us each month. They recently just charged me $69 for the month of August so I called about this and was told our cancellation form was never processed! We were told to come in and fill out another form. It’s unuclear whether or not they will give us a refund, at least for the month of August.

Not only does he whip up workouts that perfectly match my goals, but he’s also a scheduling wizard—always accommodating and patient. Negative experience: Great gym in terms of equipment, however, the staff, particularly the younger receptionist girls who I will not name, we’re not impressive to say the least. I’ve overheard numerous malicious comments about me via other friends who go there criticizing my clothing and other things (Some of which I’ve never spoken a word to) and I also felt like I was on my own to figure out how to freeze my membership and get that sorted. 3 months into my membership it started to feel like a hostile place. Great gym, not-so-great experience with a few staff and receptionist.

Negative experience: South Anchorage Body Renew front desk employee Jozzlynn doesn’t know how to do her job right. We tried to cancel our membership but she tells us go all the way to Muldoon location just for them to tell us the same thing. We had to drive back to the south location just for her to say they had no receptionist but somehow proceeded to cancel our membership anyway, when she could’ve done it in the first place. Body Renew suck they lack on information about their memberships and guests policies. What’s worse different locations has different policies and regulations. Muldoon said we can get a refund 3 days after purchasing the membership, however the lady at South said we can not get a refund at all and it only has been 2 days, which one’s true? Management get everything straight, poor communication and a lot of misunderstandings. Hopefully we get a refund. People search on good and affordable gym membership BR is not for you. Waste of time and money.

Negative experience: Paid just under $80 up front for the first month and was told I wouldn't be charged again until the end of the month. After the first month you're then charged $37 every two weeks, it's only been 3 weeks and I already got another charge on my card... it was for $57. Really frustrating to see this especially because the bikes weren't working for the first two weeks of my membership (and that's the only thing I was planning on using here). This place is owned by a money-grubbing dirt bag. AVOID GETTING A MEMBERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!! I think I'll have to cancel my membership now, and from the what previous reviewers have said about predatory cancellation fees, I have a feeling there will be problems when I go to do that. Wish I had looked into this place before forking over any cash. 0/10, hope this place crumbles and the owner suffers the consequences.
Clearly you do not know our owner. That being said, we are so very sorry for your negative experience. As you can see most of our members have a pleasant cancelation process (the whole reason we switch to a month to month program so people can cancel at anytime). As far as the bikes go we have a ton of bikes that are all operational. - Again we are so sorry that we missed the mark with your time here and we do hope that you find a good solution to your fitness needs.
Negative experience: An absolutely terrible gym that will continue to charge your account even after canceling your membership. Their services are inconsistent, their place is not welcoming, and the place is not clean. Their staff are not helpful at all and all they care about is getting your money. I’d recommend going to any other gym in town than this one.

Negative experience: Why y'all gotta be so secretive? All I called for was training rates and membership option information and was basically refused anything until I came in in person to visit. I guess I'll go spend a lot more around the corner at the Alaska Club because your customer service is terrible and people you have answering the phone are like shady used car salesman.
Negative experience: Customer service is subpar, honestly. Not the first time I’ve had issues getting a hold of someone. I finally got someone to pick up, but when I did the gentleman on the phone was super abrupt.

Negative experience: If you want to step in semen in the tanning booths this is a good place to choose, the owner doesn’t seem to mind & when you want to downgrade not to use them anymore he wants to charge you as if it’s a huge deal to change it, sighs like a lazy teenager when would even ask him to fire it up. Fantastic experience: I'm one of those people who don't need a huge gym with all the useless benefits such as a tanning machine, or a cafe' in the gym, I wasn't even expecting so so much in BR, it was a nice surprise to find the extra room to do stand still workouts. It's a pretty awesome gym, cheap too. Highly recommend BR.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of body renew for nearly 3 years and it has been a great experience. I enjoyed all of the group classes and personal training options. Unfortunately, I recently had to cancel my membership as I am relocating out of state. Contrary to other reviews, my cancellation submission went smoothly. I have loved the management team at the Old Seward location. There is such an awesome, fun atmosphere with people who obviously love fitness and helping others. I'm going to miss those guys!!! I highly recommend body renew, especially the Old Seward location, to anyone interested in pursuing personal fitness goals.
Fantastic experience: Cleaniness is good. Right now I don't see any broken down equipment. I normally go in the evenings so I don't see a lot of the staff. Some of the stuff in the locker room gets left behind and left for days. This should be put in a lost and found or tossed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been waiting until I’ve been at the gym for at least 3 months. Probably the cleanest gym I’ve been to in Anchorage, and I love that even when it’s packed there’s still other equipment to use to get a good workout in. I like that Body Renew is open until 10pm so it helps with my busy schedule! And honestly, if you haven’t tried Michelle’s cycling class you are missing out!! Her classes push you & keep you coming back. Especially with her fire playlists! I can’t wait to try some other group classes that Body Renew offers. I saw other reviews about the billing aspect of Body Renew and honestly have had no issues or concerns about it.

Positive experience: I think the owners could do a better job with updating the treadmills and the downstairs weight equipment. Additional group classes each day would be great. They used to offer them daily but then removed them. It appears the gym is more interested in its members putting more money into purchasing individual trainings versus group trainings.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy body renew, I especially enjoy the Eastside location. I can go in there and get a great workout in. It's rarely busy and let's me get to work. The Southside is great for its classes. Depending on what I'm looking for in a workout I know I can find it at Body Renew
Fantastic experience: I’ve been with Body Renew since 2015 and I absolutely love them. Even when I moved it was super easy to transfer my membership to my new home location. I unfortunately fell on hard times and needed a break and recently decided to cancel my membership. Body Renew was amazing to work with. They tired everything to make sure I was okay and tried to get me to keep my membership but in such a good way and not harassing like some places. When I get myself better situated I will definitely return to them. The only thing I wish they would do is bring back their 24hr hours. It was really nice to go around 1am and enjoy the complete quietness and workout in peace. But other than that I would highly recommend Body Renew!

The classes and instructors are very good, friendly and present a challenging and interesting variety of exercises with different goals. You can just be starting out or a 5 day a week workout drone and still get something out of the sessions.

Positive experience: 2/20/21 Saturday Morning. Myself and a lot of other people have pulled up to use the gym at said open time 7:00am. There appears to be NO STAFF members here causing a despicably long wait. Time passed and it’s now passed 8:00am, but still nothing. This is unprofessional.
Negative experience: Attempted to cancel my membership and they continued to charge me during the Covid pandemic without informing me. I went in person to cancel and they still charged me the following billing cycle. These people are incompetent.
Negative experience: this place has gone no where but downhill since midtown started to lose its appeal now the muldoon has moved to a smaller pos location. yea adios br. thx for being extra d'ish with the cancellation. business is business. I just hope you lose yours.
Negative experience: Gym is fine. Predatory Cancellation policies are not. They refuse to cancel your membership over the phone (if you can get them on the phone). They REQUIRE you to sign a document to cancel your membership. Already moved out of state? No luck, you have to go in person and sign to cancel your membership. Once you do sign, their contract says they can bill you for another month after you have signed the cancellation document. My credit card expired the month I cancelled and they called threatening to send the bill to collections if I did not pay for the extra month of service they were FORCING me to pay AFTER I had cancelled my membership. They will milk you for every penny they can.
Negative experience: Mirroring what many others have said, the gym itself is fine, but any kind of mishaps with billing, contracts, customer service and you’re in for a wild and unpleasant ride. My account was not supposed to be active but Body renew was still charging. They got me for $470!!! When I called, it was taken to some sort of meeting for a determination, where they agreed to refund me a few months and an annual fee— a total of around $143 bucks. Why they are making me eat the $327 is beyond me. They appear to be desperate for money (just had to close their east location) and are willing to jerk around their customers to make some extra dimes. The pleasant gym experience is not worth the administrative hassle!!! Go elsewhere!!!!
Negative experience: I was signed up... Called to end my membership. Was told I had to go to the gym and sign something. I went to the gym and signed the paperwork. And here I am today STILL being charged for an account I haven’t used in over 6 months. I called and asked if I could talk to somebody who could help me handle my account, but I was directed to a company handling all their “member financials”. This company didn’t help me and didn’t even seem legitimate. Also this company isn’t even resided in Alaska.. This company hasn’t contacted me about my account which is either 6 months or more overdue... I don’t know who to legitimately talk to about paying my account, and why. Today I went in to use a guest pass my friend has and I was denied accessibility, due to my account. So if I can’t workout with the account. Why would it stop me from entering as a guest. Overall. Their Way Of Handling Business Is Systematically a HUGE issue. Would not recommend signing up.. unless you like your money touched without your permission. Could somebody talk to me about my account or will I have to keep sitting in the dark....

Following your Google review, your membership account was reviewed and a cancellation request form was not found. Our records show that you signed up in March 2021, and were not a member 6 months ago. In addition, your account activity shows that you have frequently used our facility up until a month ago. Fantastic experience: Love my trainer and the gym is nice but they need music.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. This gym has fantastic pricing, childcare, and plenty of equipment to choose from. The personnel are always extremely helpful, and the childcare option is great. The only negative is childcare staff changes frequently leading to some inconsistency in care, but so far all have been attentive and caring.
Positive experience: Solid, not typically too crowded. It has what you need and is priced reasonably.

Negative experience: This gym has been a constant source of frustration for me over the last few years. After canceling my membership, I received an email explaining that in their contract I still need to pay an additional month membership and an “enhancement fee”. This contradicts what I was told by the individual who I canceled my membership with. I was up to date on my membership fees at the time of cancellation. However, Body renew insists that it is their policy and I signed the contract. Which in their defense I did; however, companies know we don’t read their lengthy contracts, but Body Renew use that to make sure they get some extra money out of you on your way out. Yes, it is in the contract, but it is not an honest business practice. Especially when they sell you a month-to-month membership and run adds constantly over their speakers in the gym that you can cancel anytime (but you can’t). The positive: I am giving them a 2-star rating only because they do have nice equipment, and all their equipment does work most of the time. Also, the facility is very nice and modern and there is a good verity in equipment as well. The front desk staff are also friendly and will help you with what they can. The negative: If you do go here I strongly caution against drinking from the water fountains as their cleaning habits are not that great. I complained multiple times to them about the spigots on the fountains having a pink fungus growing on it. They claim they clean the fountains 3 times a week. Maybe so, they just miss the spigots where everyone’s spit is on. I ultimately just brought my own water because complaining about a clear heath concern was not getting anywhere. With multiple problems I have had at this gym I always got great lip service. They are very good at pretending to care, but in my experience they don’t follow through by actually doing anything. Getting any complaints resolved always took multiple follow up complaints, which is way more effort that it should take to resolve an issue. Also, programs that were included in the membership at the time of sighing up (a contract if you will) would arbitrarily be removed as an option after the fact without a reduction in monthly fees. So, if you sign up for a certain membership level to have access to a specific program at the gym, they may decide one day to take that program away from your membership and try and force you to buy a higher level membership to regain access to that program. This happened to my wife and I after we signed up to the gym.
Positive experience: Really nice selection of machines & weights, I can always get on a treadmill or other machine. They keep the place really clean, there are almost always 2 guys cleaning up, moving machines, mopping the floors, etc. Staff not terribly friendly, but what the hell, I've *got* friends, just need a good gym.

Fantastic experience: I started personal sessions with Dragon and he is very patient and kind. I have many different musculoskeletal issues and he taylors my workout to be careful with my issues. The whole facility is beautifully designed, clean and the people are very friendly and professional. I look forward to my sessions and leave with a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for creating such a great facility.

Negative experience: I have been a member here for years. And in the last couple years this place has gone way WAY down hill. It's always dirty and the equipment is not kept up very well anymore. It's like they just dont care anymore. Kinda sad really it used to be a good alternative to the over priced other place out here. Now not so much.
Positive experience: For $40-ish bucks a month, you can't beat these amenities. You get cardio, free weights, spin classes, etc. etc. etc. These guys are way more affordable than the alternative. My only gripe is the carpeted locker rooms that tend to stink from time to time.
Negative experience: They do not have a clear cancellation policy. Beware if you call your club regarding your contact ending they will not let you know that there is a written 30 days that must be given. In response to below: I do not dispute the contract has 30 day written notice as part of it. I sorry that I was at work with out access to the contract at the time I called regarding the end of the contract, but you would think that the employee I called, and made it clear during call I wanted to end the contract, would have brought up the said 30 days written notice. Way to hide behind a contract and not take responsibility for poorly trained staff. But that might be because they are trained not to bring up the 30 days notice. I wonder now much they make off of that at 100-200 dollars per contract. Hummmm
Hi Jackie, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our club. Our cancellation policy is clearly displayed on all contracts that Body Renew has. We never intentionally hide anything from our customers, and provide all of the membership details in the initial membership contract.
Negative experience: Three employees at this facility told me misinformation and their customer service will not stand behind it. I was a member for 6 years. I signed up for a 6 month personal training package. Two months before the 6 month contract was ending I emailed them and asked to cancel the membership. They told me I could not do this over email and had to go in person. Within a few weeks I went in person to the facility and was told by the front desk person that I had to come in Monday through Friday during business hours to cancel. My last payment for the 6 month package came out of my account and I went in person to cancel. The manager made the cancellation and told me that I had fulfilled my contract and would not be billed again. He had another employee next to him verify that he was cancelling correctly in the computer. He had me sign the cancellation that clearly stated (and I have a copy of this) that the last day billed was 2-1-19. One week later customer service caught his "mistake" and called to tell me that I would actually be billed in March. I informed her of what they told me and what I had in writing. After speaking with the manager she told me he was new and shouldn't have told me that so I will still have to pay. She also admitted that I should be able to cancel on weekends and that employee had told me something not true. They will not honor my cancellation receipt that states the last day billed is 2/1/19. They care more about getting that last bit of money out of me than keeping a 6 year member and admitting they were in the wrong. The customer service department is rude and I have reported them to Better Business Bureau. The customer service rep is apparently the highest you can get in the business per her. I hope the owner knows how they are treating customers.

Negative experience: Overall frustrated by this gym. The majority of the staff I have interacted with have been rude and/or unprofessional (with the exception of a few). They tack on lots of fees and charges - not worth what you are paying.
Negative experience: If you’re looking for a great gym this is NOT the place, and I’ll tell you why: After being a member for nearly a year at the South location, I was coming back to the gym after a few months due to unforeseen heart surgery. I came in ready for my workout, exactly as I had for the past year scanned my key tag, as normal, and ended up being stopped by the front desk attendant because their computers indicated that my membership was solely for their East location. I explained that had to be wrong as I signed up for the South gym, a year previous and had only ever been to the South location (I do not even know where the East location is) and I literally live within walking distance from the Southside location. Due to my heart condition I’m unable to drive so there is no way I would have signed up for a gym on the opposite side of town from where I live and work. Again, over the past year this “location issue” had never been brought up. The guy who checked me in acknowledged that I had only ever checked in at the Southside location and also acknowledged that my address is nearby. He wasn’t sure what had happened and another worker walked up and said I’d need to speak with a manager to get this sorted. I immediately called the indicated number and asked to speak with a manager repeatedly. I left numerous messages and didn’t receive a call back for over a week. I am still unable to use my membership (which I am STILL paying for in the meantime) due to their error. I finally got a call back saying the only way to ‘fix’ my membership was for me to pay an extra $10 a month or pay $55 to switch my account to the South gym. I told them, yet again, that I didn’t sign up at the East gym, I’ve never been there and that I would not be paying for their mistake made a year ago. They refused to budge on the change fees and went as far to quiz me on exactly how I signed up, insinuating I was making this situation up. The woman I spoke with on the phone was rude, curt, and had very little skills in conflict resolution. I told her they should have documentation of how people sign up instead of calling their customers liars. I have other friends who have had similar issues with this gym. I had also previously requested my account to be suspended for 3 months—which they will openly tell you can be done without costs or change to subscription. When I went in to suspend my account, I was told they could only do the suspension for 1 month and that I needed doctors notes. Out of curiosity, I have gone back through my bank statements and saw that they had charged me 2 of the 3 months I had asked for them to freeze my account (which my roommate had done no problem during the previous summer). I called in to check on the suspension and the man said, 'The girl was new and that that was incorrect.' and that he would call back after they fixed that.’ I was out of the country (hence the freeze requested) and apparently it never was resolved. I said I would pay the $55 charge with the 2 months they charged me I had requested off and they said they don’t do that and would call be back after reviewing. It has now been 2 wks since I last spoke with a customer service rep and I am yet to hear anything back, despite their promises follow up call back. The way I have been treated after being a loyal customer for a year has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a local company, and I am not the only person who has had horror stories here. The staff has been quick to place the blame, unwilling to work with me on finding a resolution, & the inconsistency of answers from multiple reps has me questioning how this business is still managing to function. They have zero documentation of anything and that is what they continually fall back on. I haven't heard back and doubt I will until it’s time for another payment. This gym doesn’t care about helping people with their health or fitness, all they care about is money. Take you money elsewhere and go to a gym that cares about their customers because you won’t get that here.
Positive experience: As far as gyms go, BR is a great value. For 1/3 of the cost of the Alaska Club we have a membership that includes unlimited tanning. I have never had any issues with availability of machines to use and I have never felt like I was in a cramped space (like I did at the Summit Gym).
Fantastic experience: I use their personal training sessions and it's helped me get to the gym more consistently knowing I will be working with my awesome trainer Matthew. I highly recommend him regardless of where you are in your fitness. He's extremely knowledgeable and has a great bed side manner.
Negative experience: They were very misleading with their groupon, I even called in and asked questions and they mislead me at that point as well. Wish they would just be upfront with costs, rather than upsetting customers down the road. Will not be going back.
Negative experience: They nickel and dime you. Go somewhere else. No prorated childcare when you cancel. Garbage service. You have to cancel in person even if you move out of state. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

MAKE YOU SIGN AND THEN THEY HIT YOU WITH THE SURPRISES. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THAT'S ALL THEY ARE AFTER.
Negative experience: Body Renew is by far the worst run gym I have every come across. They lock you into contracts and when you try to exit they all of a sudden play hard ball and try every means to keep you locked into a contract. They are thieves scammers and con-artist. The gym is poorly maintained and filled with nasty empty staff. Locker rooms are dirty with moldy carpet and filthy showers with mold and pubic hair all over. Sauna is black with filth and the tiles that around the unit are so hot they are a legal liability. Body Renew does not care about you they care about profits profits profits, it's just another gym going bad.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrendous customer service. Despite my wife and I being long time members, they had absolutely no desire to work with us on a possible refund for personal training sessions that my wife no longer wanted because we could not work it out schedule wise with a 5 month old. In addition to not allow us to get money back for unused sessions, we continue to get charged on a monthly basis, and despite the fact that it is 7/6, there is apparently a 30 cancellation policy, so we will get charged $240 again 8/1. When I told customer service that they would lose us as customers they simply said that if we don't pay these fees it would be pass to debt collectors. I can't remember the last time I was this angry at customer services.
Negative experience: My husband and I joined the gym in November. This past month we were charged a 29 dollar fee as well as our monthly membership fee. When we called to get an explanation for this fee, we were told that is was an enhancement fee per our contract. Upon review of our contract, under the enhancement fee, our contracts state "Member agrees to an annual Enhanced Fee of the indicated amount to be drafted on the indicated date and every year that the member is a current as a condition of being a body renew fitness member". When I reviewed a friends contract, it states the amount of 29 dollars and the month that it is due, where our contract says as indicated. No where on our contracts does it state that we will pay a 29 dollar fee. It could be 0-100 dollars depending on who you talk to. We called several times requesting to speak to a manager and were rudely brushed off by the customer service representative. One of the ladies we talked to started that when they say "indicated" it means whatever they told you at the time that you are signing up. However, there is a clause in their contract that states "any verbal communication at the time I sign this contract is not held valid under Body Renew Policies. Only the signed agreement and addendum are valid" We called once again this afternoon and reached a woman claiming to have managerial authority. From the start of the conversation she didn't care to hear what we had to say and told us that we agreed to pay a fee and she is indicating to us now that it is 29 dollars. She said our request for a refund is denied and to feel free to contact the BBB or sue them, she doesn't care but we will not be getting a refund from her. The behavior was extremely uncalled for and disheartening that a companies customer service "manager" would treat people this way. It's a small amount of money to be arguing over, but the principle of how they treat their customers should not be over looked. We researched the company on the BBB and they have a bunch of claims against them relating to billing issues. I hope the company takes our complaint as a lesson to fix their contracts, as I will continue to inform people of the situation this company has put me in until they resolve the issue.
Negative experience: I signed up on 7/20 with Brandon and was told I was able to workout with my little child in a carrier while doing cardio since I workout after daycare hours so I signed me and my husband up for memberships. I went in on 7/25 and was told that is false and children aren't allowed on the floor due to liability which I completely understand. So I went to cancel my membership and was told I would get a call the next day about my refund. I had to call back and finally got a call this morning from Amanda (branch manager) saying they won't cancel our memberships because we went in on day 5 rather than day 3 in our contract but they are willing to give us free daycare passes and guest passes.... so free daycare for the hours that don't work with my work schedule.... she did say we can find some other poor soul to transfer our memberships to but that's the only way out. asked to speak to a higher up and got the front desk girl for Sabrina (customer service manager). I called 4 times and the fourth time she was out to a meeting and would call in the next 24 hours.. asked for a higher up and she is the highest apparently. Only saving grace is the front desk girls are all polite on the phone at least. This isn't over.
Negative experience: Very poor customer service from staff and manager. Truly disappointed with South gym. Tried to get a membership and they charged for ridiculous extra fees. The staff member and manager were intimidating so I did not end up participating in Body Renew Challenge which cost them $100. I was a new member and they didn't welcome me or tell me about the gym or their programs or anything. It's simply false advertising that, as they say, "Personal attention, assistance, and accountability are at the heart of what we do best."

Positive experience: I have been a member for three years now. It is a great gym. Love the equipment and it is never too full. They are affordable and have lots of space, classes and equipment. It have been a member of Alaska Club, Planet Fitness, and YMCA and this has hands down been the best one for the price. My only complaint is that their daycare costs went up it is now more expensive to bring my kids than to go to the actual gym. This really ticks me off cause the reason I don't go to some of the other gyms is because of their daycare costs. If you need daycare and that is a huge thing for you, I'd recommend going to YMCA their daycare is free I believe and they have a pool... not a lot of work out space, but do able. But if you can afford the day care at Body Renew, then I'd recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Wife and I love that it is clean and open at hours that work well for us.
Fantastic experience: Staff is friendly and if you go during non-peak hours you can basically get the entire gym to yourself. The gym itself is new and they're able to keep enough people on staff to help keep it clean and functional. Also at every trash they also provide cleaning wipes to wipe down equipment yourself. They have two squat racks, but unfortunately no Olympic lifting area, but that's okay. Not that type of gym. They have an assortment of free weights, but also quite a selection of cable machines which is neat. They provide a few different classes you can sign up for, and when the classes aren't going on you can use the few rooms for stretching and just body exercises. They have a bunch if mats you can use. Upstairs they have all the cardio equipment, tons of treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, stair climbers, etc. TVs everywhere to entertain you if you want. I'd definitely recommend trying it out, they have deals every now and then for free months. As a member I donated some canned food and got a free month to give to my friend to try it out.

Negative experience: Worst gym membership I've ever had. They charge you extra fees without notice! I was told there was one annual fee and was charged extra 3 times this year! And their Wasilla location is inadequate.
Negative experience: Worst gym I've ever gone too. They don't care about your needs, they take no interest in you and then when you try to leave they make it so difficult. The point of moving to month to month is paying it month to month and they make it as complicated as possible to make sure they keep taking money from you even though you're not even using their services. I've never loathed a company enough to even write a Google review. I'm sick of dealing with them. I'm sick of everyone talking behind the desk instead of even talking to me. I'm sick of this gym and their priorities. They have terrible customer service. I'd give this gym a zero if that was even possible.
