Come workout with us at CrossFit Alaska! We offer CrossFit, CrossFit Kids, Nutritional Coaching, and Personal Training to help you reach your fitness goals.

I stopped by Crossfit Alaska by myself for the first time and the people there were really welcoming. The facility is spacious and has enough room to do the workout comfortably. David was the coach during my visit and did a great job of explaining what we would be doing that day as well as motivating us during the workout. I would recommend anyone interested in trying out Crossfit to check this place out, or if you're like me and just need a place to drop in while you're traveling, this is the place. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in town. Thanks Crossfit Alaska!

My husband, who was already in good shape from doing Crossfit, talked me into going to a free workout at Crossfit Alaska. I found the workout to be very difficult, but Coach Kelly encouraged me to come back and try the Foundations course. I signed up in November 2018 and have been going ever since.

I never considered myself an athlete or felt proud of my physical abilities, but the community at Crossfit Alaska and the sport itself have allowed me to grow in ways I never imagined. I have come to realize how strong my body is and what it is capable of. Our Crossfit Alaska family has kept me going during the pandemic and it has become my safe and happy place.

I joined CrossFit Alaska with the goal of improving my fitness, and I've achieved that goal and more. I'm always looking for new physical challenges, and since joining CrossFit I've completed Spartan races, triathlons, the Clean Air Challenge, and numerous 5K road races. As a Masters athlete, I never would have imagined I would be where I am today.

The CrossFit community is a supportive and inclusive one, where people of all ages and abilities are welcome. I have been lucky to be a part of CrossFit Alaska's 5:30 a.m. class (Rooster Crew), where the coaches and other athletes are incredibly supportive. This group of people has changed my life.

I joined CrossFit because I was young and active, but I would throw my back out every few months and have a debilitating, hunched over few days where I couldn’t do anything. Everyone said I needed to “strengthen my core,” so I finally gave CrossFit a shot. I had no idea how fun it would be to get strong, or how strong I could get. CFAK is a special place where people come to work hard, learn, laugh, and surround ourselves with people making healthy choices, pursuing our goals, and getting high on endorphins. The competitive vibe I feared, it turns out, is more about motivating than it is about winning. CrossFit has made me more confident and better able to do the things I love to do when I’m not at the gym. It’s also incredibly friendly and inclusive. The coaches’ knowledge makes me feel safe, and after being a part of this gym for a few years now, I truly believe anyone can do CrossFit. Oh also, I haven’t thrown my back out a single time since I started.

Although it is difficult, CrossFit has taught me that I am capable of overcoming anything. This skill and mindset transfers to all aspects of life. There are often workout plans that leave me shaking my head, but with an appropriate scale, I am able to complete them and then celebrate. CrossFit is about building yourself up with the support of a community. Cheering is encouraged and we all celebrate the success of others. I feel encouraged to try and fail and then to keep trying. I found peace, friendship, community, mental health tools and self-confidence. The gym is a place to let your mind rest. You simply can’t think if you can’t breathe. I keep coming back because fitness is a roller coaster, with ups and downs all the time. However, with consistency, being health strong supports everything else, such as hiking, rowing the boat, horseback riding, and running. It is a place to honor those that serve with your own hard work. I love CrossFit so much that I attended a 5:30 am class and delivered my baby at 10:00 am!

CrossFit Alaska: Opinions

Positive experience: I was an out of towner. For being the only crossfit gym in town (as of 2013) it is great. The facilities are WAY to small and bathrooms even smaller - in fact it could be a bit dangerous if your not aware (in the gym that is). The workouts were great and I improved a few techniques based on their advice. No meat heads really. Little clickish but still a great community. Workouts were fun and hard - as they should be. Defiantly see this place growing!

Fantastic experience: This gym has an amazing community! I never would have thought I would join a Crossfit gym, let alone stay for close to two years now but the owners, coaches, and members make it a comfortable welcoming space. And the WOD's will kick your butt!

Fantastic experience: I dropped in for a class at Crossfit Alaska in July and it was great. I walk in 15 minutes before class and immediately notice the cleanliness and space available. Huge murals on the wall created a super cool atmosphere.the equipment was top notch. Nothing but Rogue rigs and high quality barbells. They even had several sets of rings hanging from the ceiling and a few ropes, some of the less popular CrossFit equipment. The workout was tough, but not quite the volume I was expecting. The metcon took me less than 5 minutes, so I would have loved to have seen a quick rest period immediately into another quick metcon. The strength portion was good. They had a running clock but one set every two minutes was a little slow. Maybe one every minute or 90 seconds. Gary was the coach. Super nice guy, well organized and kept the class running smoothly. Overall, for the traveler just looking to get a decent workout in, I definitely recommend CrossFit Alaska. If you're used to a little higher volume than most, they were definitely fine with people staying after to get a little extra work in.

Fantastic experience: A work buddy and I dropped in for two consecutive WODs, and loved it. The coaches were knowledgeable and treated us like their regulars. The regulars were super welcoming, the space was well organized and spacious, the WODs were challenging!

Fantastic experience: Amazing!!! They have helped me workout harder than I ever thought possible. The best part is how non-judgemental and familial the people are.

Positive experience: The coaching team at the box has been great and welcoming. I have been in Alaska for 12 days and have been to the box 10 times. I felt welcomed from the beginning. It's a great place to drop in when you're in Anchorage.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent place to get a workout. The coaches take the time to teach you proper technique before each workout and spend the time to ensure you do it right. Clay and Rachel (owners) are always willing to help out or answer any questions. You will not find a better place to workout.
