The Alaska Club South

Fantastic experience: Wow, some of these comments are pretty harsh. I've been a member for a few years with experiences at both Summit and South. Yes, they charge more than we would like, but they offer a lot if you utilize it. With the traffic that they have, I feel they maintain the facility and equipment well. I've never had an issue with customer service, but you can always request to see a manager and work with the situation. My only complaint is that they do not complete my work out for me - I have to do that part.

Fantastic experience: Love the pool and the variety of workout equipment & classes. GET THE APP! Easy to track workouts and stay motivated. Staff is friendly, effecient, & knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Signed up with JJ at the club and had the best time with him! Easiest membership i’ve ever signed up for! Ask for him when you come in if you want the best experience ! So excited to get jacked at the gym now

He goes above and beyond as for answering questions and taking care of needs. I feel that he is a valuable asset to this company and enjoy his wonderful personality and friendliness.

Fantastic experience: Jariel was so awesome with the tour, communication skills are up to par very respectful and awesome very positive as well and supportive of one another’s goals. South side gym is very beautiful clean the daycare stuff is amazing as well highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I love being a member of AK Club! All of the amenities they offer are great! Staff is always friendly and welcoming! My kids love the play centers and the pools! The cardio equipment is top notch and it’s always very clean! I highly recommend AK Club for a judgment free, feel good, family-time facility that my family and I enjoy being a part of!

Fantastic experience: Paris was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She was accommodating of my schedule and physical limits (post partum). I learned a lot that I'll take to the mat with me on future gym visits!

Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience working with my personal trainer Warren. He is very knowledgeable and I trust him to help me achieve my fitness goals. He pushes me to my limits, which is something we all need in life. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The Alaska Club South/Summit is a great facility. The staff are always welcoming, the facility is clean, and they have ample varieties of workout machines and accessories. The personal training is also great! I've had a few trainers at the gym, but currently I train with Dayton. He's a wonderful trainer who tailors the activities to my individual goals and abilities. A very warm and kind person who clearly has the knowledge and skillsets to be an experienced trainer.

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a place to start making changes in your life, this is it. The community and atmosphere here are great, and there's a large pool with a slide and a basketball court. Multiple sections of the building are packed with cardio and weights equipment, and the best part is that they serve alcohol.

Positive experience: I work out at the Alaska Club South location, and I've had great customer service here! The staff has been wonderful to me, and I really appreciate the personal training program they have here. Especially Mary Anna - she's absolutely wonderful as a trainer. She pushes you to be better and is very dedicated to your personal goals. I'm so grateful for her flexibility and communication when it comes to scheduling around my work hours.

My son loves going to the childcare area - shout-out to Cassie and Stephanie, they are always so friendly and welcoming

Fantastic experience: We enjoy coming here. My daughter loves the starfish swimming lessons. We just experienced the parents night out, what a huge hit! Love it!!! I must say this, we can tell when Karen from the cleaning crew is working, the ladies locker room is spotless!

By far the best gym I have ever got a membership at, but as said before, they will not do your work out for you - you have to bring your motivation from home! Staff is always super friendly, always welcoming and helpful. Big thank you to Martin who explained every single detail of our membership and benefits patiently, we have been enjoying awesome workout days playing racquetball, swimming, joining the classes and working out on the machines! Alaska Club South and Summit have all new machines that always work and you never have to wait for, offer tons of classes that comes with the membership - plus Seth, Sarah, Steven, Madison, Kelly, Heather, Kylie, Kobe, Harold and the sweet girl from Membership always welcome us with a big smile! Thank you Alaska Club!

Fantastic experience: Love, love, love. Totally worth it if you use the gym regularly. The childcare center has amazing ladies and a few fellas that really engage the kids in coloring activities, games and teach the kids how to play nicely together. There are great pools at most locations including a splash park at the Eagle River location. Don't let the negative reviews stop you from trying. I have happily been a member for close to a decade.

Fantastic experience: This review went all the way to 5 start because of their ability to say "We are sorry". Reading the previous reviews made me think that I was going to have the same results, but somehow in my case I was pleased to see the outcome of it. I have been having issues with my membership for months. I complained and I wasn't happy at all with the service, but I kept paying what requested. Month after month. And no resolution to be seen anywhere. This time I spoke with Khae, from the membership department in the South, and she explained what could have happened during all these past months in a way that made sense. It did not feel like she was giving an excuse, but more like a reasoning so I could understand it. If I have to be honest...she made me realize that I could also have done a little bit more from my side to resolve the issue. During the next days, I was busy, like maybe all of us, and I did not do what she suggested. However, she followed up on the problem and she reached out several times to see if she could help me. I finally did what she suggested. Sure enough, after I followed her instructions, I got an email back from June, from accounting. In less than 48h, I had not just another reply (a really good one, actually), but a resolution too!! No "yes, but", no excuses. A simple "We are sorry", "this is what I am going to do" followed by a "this is what I did" the next day. I even had refunds done in 48h. This person's speed responding and the way all was handled really surprised me. Thank you Khae and June.

Fantastic experience: We have a lot of great long time members, and great employees. We just got a new GM and I have high Hopes that good things will be happening soon! - I am an employee here, and I truly do enjoy my job. The members make it all worth it!

Fantastic experience: The new equipment upgrades at the South and other clubs is great. Convenient and I can get in and get my work out completed in about an hour, take a hot shower and get on with my day. I have been to gyms, and I prefer the convenience of several locations that I can go to depending on my schedule and how much time I have. AK Club is an easy solution for my fitness needs.
