Fantastic experience: The summer swim camp was awesome-Our grandsons really enjoyed having the trampoline as part of the schedule-they have so much energy and the variety was really fun- plus time for individual games etc Always a smile at pick up time:)

Fantastic experience: We love Alaska Kids camp. Our boy always comes home tired after jumping for an hour and swimming for 2 every day. And for us we love that we can sign up by individual day, as we don't usually need childcare coverage every day of the week! The south Anchorage location is also great for us.

Fantastic experience: The staff was great with kids. My 7 year old got plenty of socialization and exercising every day. She loved the camp staff and still hugs friends she sees in the community from camp. It’s also more affordable than many of the other day camp programs out there. It’s a great investment!

Positive experience: The south club is nice with the new pool addition but the family locker room needs some assistance. Parking is always full.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy the Alaska Club, South. It’s got plenty of amenities that provide a wonderful atmosphere for all members. My only complaint is how busy it can be but that goes to show what an incredible space the Alaska Club is!

Positive experience: The equipment is old even though they are charging all this money. Some of the machines you cant adhust to your body or fit on no matter what level you do. They are not made for all body types or heights. The short latino guy over at the summit side is rude and impatient with you if he doesnt know you. He speaks to some patrons who i guess he likes but he doesnt speak to everyone that walks in and acts like you are bothering him and wasting HIS time even though you are paying $161 a month to be there. They could update the locker rooms as well and not have the towels be so rough. In the womens locker room they dont refill the soap shampoo conditioner bottles and they let the asian women talk loud and yell in the sauna and hot tub and steam room area. Its not a quiet zone. For some reason these older women take it as a community center to habg out and talk loud to each other so you cant relax. They also break the rules putting on their eucalyptus oil and body oils in the sauna and steam room and suffocating you with the smells..they could do a better job cleaning this area as well. Even though most of the women who come here appear to be 50 plus, they are not clean and leave their hair and other things all in the showers. Its like a college dorm experience instead of a luxury one. Noone is there to help you learn how to use these old weight and cardio machines. And the wifi cuts off all the time so youre music and things while working out buffers and slows. Also they dont tell you that the classes have limited availabilitt and are mostly for retired people only offered at 5am and 9am whsn theb younger people are working. You will hardly be able to go to all of the classes that you want. Also the summit gym is not 24/7 so you have to try to get everything done by 9pm or 7pm on the weekends. I want to upgrade my fitness so i am trying this but they really have their nerves charging these prices for this old outdated place. The app doesn't work even though they have these posters up about the app and they dont tell you about the apps and all of the services avail. I have the app and its useless you're not able to see when classes are. I've had to ask people around the gym for help because the employees either aren't interested or don't seem to know what to do. When you mention that you have an appointment with someone they seem so lost and or they can't find the person or contact the trainers or seem to know who the other staff members are. I feel so bad for the people that have to work with the short guy over on the summit side- he doesn't talk to his coworkers or help train them. He only steps in to tell them what they are doing wrong. I'm going to rotate around to some of the other locations to see if they are maybe a bit different. If you have to go to the website still for everything what is the point of the app and the website is confusing it's like they're trying to keep you from enjoying all of the full benefits of membership. Youre not able to book the massage or facials thru the app and you need another app to connect the tv and music to your phone. There are not tvs to look at working at so youre Just staring at a gray wall the whole time unless you play around w the ridiculous fetch app thing to watch tv on the machines. I'm annoyed. The t3chnology in the gym and on the website is soooo old.... you would think we were back in 1995. After you sign up they just abandon you to figure all of it out on your own. Alsonthey advertise facial and massage but have no availability at all. It makes no sense. And there is no staff or access to the sauna/steam room or summit side during"after hours". They should be able to find staff to be at least at the front desk of each side if nothing else

Fantastic experience: I love how this is set up more for the children, has more slides and other kid water toys. Plus the sauna and steam rooms are better than the East Alaska Club. This site also has a warm pool, for those who get cold easily.

Negative experience: Terrible management for a gym. The men’s locker room smells like piss and it’s likely from the used urinal cakes they put in locker room trash. I brought this to the attention of Jared who was the manager and he angrily waved it off saying trash was going to be taken out soon. The guy visibly looked pissed off that I even brought this up in the first place A small example of the lack of attention to detail and it shows unfortunately.

Negative experience: The camp didn’t do a good job of explaining the schedule or toileting plan to younger campers. The counselors seemed to be there to watch over the children and not engage with them. I had to force my child to go daily for the week he was signed up for camp.

Negative experience: My girls refused to return after one day. Alaska club camp could work harder to be welcoming and help kids make friends. Just moving kids from one activity to the next isn’t camp, it’s daycare.

Fantastic experience: I love the Alaska club summer program for my son. I especially like the fact that he gets to go to fly every day and jump for an hour and go swimming for over an hour and a half every day. He gets plenty of exercise, he really enjoys it. My son loves to swim and he loves fly so the fact that both of these are included in the Summer Camp program is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Our first summer at the South summer camp and our 6 year old absolutely loved it. He was so excited to go to camp every morning. The swimming and jump park was such a hit. The counselors were all super great also! They seemed very fun but no nonsense which was great to see from a parent perspective. We will definitely be back again!

Fantastic experience: Hi, regarding yoga schedule. On Tuesday morning there 3 yoga classes in 3 different locations at the SAME time: 10:30 . My suggestion is to spread out these 3 classes even if it’s 30 minutes apart. This way, if you miss one, you can always get to the next one. The way it is right now, if you’re running late , you miss all of them. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: The South location was super clean, inviting, and all the fitness equipment was in great condition and updated. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and the manager, Jered, was so knowledgeable about all the clubs and gave me a lot of great information. I toured with a gentleman named Grayden, who ultimately convinced me to join. 11/10 highly recommended for anyone who wants a safe and clean environment to work towards their fitness goals.

Negative experience: After having a conversation with the staff on the phone, I was assured that the gym would give me a weekly pass. Additionally I had gone on line and arranged for a free day pass. When I arrived a manager was called. He totally dismissed the conversation I had with the person on the phone. Additionally the free pass from the website was not honored. He also informed me there were no weekly passes. Very disappointed.
Positive experience: we’ve had a good time at the alaska club! my littles love their new water playground. it’s clean, well staffed, and easy to access. four stars bc we’ve had some confusion about pool accessibility and some membership stuff haha. staff was all great to help us get to the bottom of it.

Negative experience: Im giving this a one star cus one of your lifeguards was so RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL to us. Also giving this a one star since y'all dont have a sign that says "Pool's closed for kids at 1pm - 3pm" which in my opinion thats such a dumb idea to close almost the entire pool beside the hot tubs. DO YOUR JOB BETTER OR REDESIGN YOUR WHOLE POOL FOR A KID'S POOL
Positive experience: This place is everything your looking for with kids. Fun place to play, nice warm water, not to deep. It's beautiful my kids love the slides and water buckets. Us adults can lay back and enjoy the Hot tub while they play it's perfect We really have a blast here.

Negative experience: The bathroom is dirty, drainage is clogged and filled with hair, especially in the women's family bathroom. The steam room smells funky. For the price of the membership, it should be well maintained. The only thing that is consistent with the south location is how dirty the facility is.

Fantastic experience: New member for about a week and everything has been absolutely wonderful! Lindi at membership was so welcoming and answered all my questions about the gym. Emily at the Summit learned my name the first few days and was really cool with customer service. The equipment is nice and the pool w/ the bball court across is an awesome combo for the kids. I love the location with Fly being next door and membership giving free 2 hours to the kiddos - how is this not winning? My current routine: kids to trampoline park while I get my workout on or even just to get a massage and a coffee - Emily told me that I can just hangout in the lounge area for as long as they are open (Summit side). This will most likely be my home gym everytime I visit Anch.

Negative experience: Only the main person of the members plus can utilize any amenities otherwise additional accounts are required an additional funding even if they’re your children and they live in your house, I was told otherwise when I signed up for the membership, also, the hot tub always has a bunch of kids in there unsupervised which has a sign right beside the hot tub that says you must be 14 years or older or a company by an adult. I wouldn’t swim in that hot tub. It looks filthy them kids urinating in that small area with no adult supervision has a weird pissy smell make sure you have some type of format (in writing )= paperwork or =video recording of these people when they disclose faults information just to sign you , You can tell the people that worked there obviously hate their job or try to utilize it by picking up Women at the establishment that come to visit or work out I watched it with my very own eyes right in front of me and my 16yr old daughter very disrespectful!! The front attendance were very rude and disrespectful after that I’m canceling . They will lie too you in a minute to get you to sign up for membership!!! strongly do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recently signed up at the South location and tried out each class and a few different trainers. I've enjoyed all of the classes but my favorite is the team training! Fantastic experience: Equipment is new, modern, and clean. I enjoy using the sauna - especially before and after a workout during cold winter months. The classes are also great. Amber S for spin class pilates is the best in town... Allison A. runs group power like a boss!

Negative experience: Going down hill rapidly. You now pay $150+ for a membership and have to listen to radio with commercials blasting in the gym. Please pay for a streaming service without commercials. Update! Still listening to commercials at the MOST expensive gym in Alaska. They also can’t figure out the temp on their sauna after 10 plus years. Zero F’s given by management. Would have tried to leave a request/comment card but they don’t have them at the gym. Shocker. Back to my mid workout McDonalds commercials. Nothing says one more rep like a McRib.

Negative experience: Great classes, but parking is a huge problem. Plan to spend 15 minutes circling to wait for a space. When I brought this up with staff they told me to park at other business locations.

The pool facility expansion combined with the large snowfall has been difficult to manage. We are having more snow cleared and the construction is nearing the end. You should have no problem parking in the very near future. Please note, there is a lot of parking available on the backside of the building. Your input is valuable to us as we strive to improve our services.
Positive experience: I am editing my previous one start review. I noticed that the floors and equipment were dirty and dusty, and there was marked in broken equipment. Many places. Less than a week later, it looks like they had undergone an extensive cleaning, and brought some organization to the free weights. I appreciate the responsiveness and I will further upgrade my review if it becomes clear that this is not a one time deal but a new pattern. Keep it up Alaska Club.

Negative experience: The basketball gym situation is a joke. High schoolers take over from 4-10pm. You can’t even get a hoop to shoot on because they run games not stop. The employees need to help facilitate the gym better. The Membership Manager Jake is rude and harassed me twice for telling him “he sucked” on how he dealt with a complaint. His words, “we can’t do anything about it”. Good job for the lack of trying Jake.

Fantastic experience: Love The Alaska Club! Moved to Anchorage from Florida and at least in the lower 48 you never totally trust a gym, one never knows what games they might play... not here in the AK! This gym is friendly, tons of locations, great staff, clean and great equipment! I can't say enough about The Alaska Club! Let's face it, it's cold out there at least half the year and if you think you're going to go all Rocky Balboa and run up the snow mountain in December... well, guess what... you're not! (cuz it's -20 and mostly we barely want to run through the parking lot to our car) But, you'll probably go to a nice gym, with a sauna and a hot tub! Pay the money, it's welllll worth it!

Positive experience: For the most part the membership payment is worth it if you actually use it. I mainly play racquetball 3-4 times a week, but it is nice to be able to access the other features for stretching and weight training. If I were only lifting, I would probably choose a different gym for the price, but AKC has the racquetball courts, so here I am. Cleanliness in general is good, but if you look deeply, you will see what you don't want to see. (I'm still watching a used razor head that's been in the corner of a shower for weeks now - wear your shower shoes). Repairs tend to take a whiiiile to be addressed (door latches not working right; shower heads/handles; faucets; leaks on racquetball courts)...to the point we members have joked about bringing in our own tools and then just sending an invoice to AKC. But if you wait long enough, they eventually work it out. Staffing in general is good. Nice people for the most part. I think they still need some help, and certainly people who can take pride in their work. I haven't worked with a trainer, so cannot speak to that. Member for at least 7 years now. The racquetball community keeps me there. Love those people!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the Alaska club. I am here every morning from 4:30-7am. The equipment is very nice, and the community is great. I would definitely recommend to others. The managers are also very helpful and informative. And the girl at the front desk around 8 is very friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: I used to come to Angela M Zumba classes (which I love) and now memberships will no longer let me come to her classes as a guest. I’m disappointed that the Alaska club management is no longer selling guest passes. Muscling people into memberships is like hard-selling at a used car lot. Not good.

Positive experience: I generally like the south and w we set club. However you changed the schedule for Saturday spin not being able to make it to power afterwards. That was a disappointment. Now if you want to do both, you need to go to west and that is only a 45 min class. I like that holly has a 9:03’clas son Friday. I do not care for the Tuesday, Friday morning instructors south. Negative experience: If you belong to the Summit and are a late afternoon person, you may know me by sight. I have been a member since 2007, most weeks coming to the gym 4-5 times a week. I like the gym and it has some pretty unique features. The snow plowing of the parking lot is so subpar year after year, I have now decided it must be a feature. As you navigate the deep ice potholes you can test your agility. We all know agility is a feature of fitness we all aspire to. That last big snowfall Wednesday through Thursday in early November was not plowed until the weekend. This allowed the snow to pack down to ice that will probably be around until March. They did put down gravel, that either has melted into the ice or been pushed to the low spots, so your agility can still be tested. If you do happen to fall you can access your bone density. Nothing broken or cracked, you are good to go.The Summit provides large fluffy towels that you can use along with some ice from the lemon ice water they have strategically placed around the gym if you fall requires icing. Currently the parking lot light by the entrance is out so you can test your low light vision when you try to determine where the slippery edges of the ice potholes are. The gym can be a bit dirty sometimes, but mostly it’s okay. The Summit has an employee, Helen, that I think of as the locker room ambassador. She is always upbeat and actually works out at the gym so she is very aware of what is needed. She often cleans things that don’t need cleaning everyday, but do need attention. She is an upbeat addition to the locker room. I have worked out consistently for the last 45 years, in many locations across the country. The gym is pretty good, you rarely need to wait for a machine. The online classes are a gift. You can create your own yoga environment anywhere, and take a great class with Xochitl. She is easy to to follow, the workout is always different, and she provides modifications, the online feature is part of membership. So please join our gym so they can be profitable enough to have snow plowing that is comparable to the food store a quarter mile away. I would give the gym 4 or 5 stars if the parking lot was not so dangerous.

We take the maintenance of all our facilities very seriously. Our plow services come any time it snows 2 inches or more. We inspect the parking lot daily and work with the building manager to address areas of concerns. As for the lights in the lot, those are also being addressed. You should see that issue rectified immediately. These are shared areas and take a little time to work with the rest of our neighbors to address. Negative experience: Has the best equipment because of being on the nicer side of town. The single family bathrooms are dirty, like to the point I’ve taken notice on multiple days just to see if they change. They haven’t ,not sure if it’s short staffed but that’s no excuse for not scrubbing bathrooms. Especially at the price families pay. Also keeping the steam rooms at 102? The rest of the clubs keep at 123 ish so you actually have a relaxing experience. I’d rate 5 stars due to the fact of it being a better place than the other Alaska clubs but due to the dirty bathrooms, and the steam it kinda ruins the experience.
Negative experience: Every weekend can't even going swimming they always have a birthday party taking up the entire pool. Seems like they value people renting the pool over their membership holders. I told the lady at the front desk and she didn't even care she just smirked.

Negative experience: Yesterday I made an appointment for a tour with Ian for today at 3:15. He sent several text message reminders, which I responded to . We met and executed the tour. I didn’t sign up because I need time to think about the 12 month commitment. Later tonight I get another text from him; “Hi Pamela, missed you today for our Club Tour Appointment! When can you reschedule? ~Ian” Well. That sucks. Way to meet friends and influence people Ian. You just lost a client. Get it together.

Negative experience: They will harass you if you inquire about their “club”. Called for my father to ask how much it would cost to lap swim for 3 months since they don’t post any fee information on their website. Brooke answered the phone and apparently had her own intentions since it took over 5 minutes of repeating myself before she finally told me the cost. I promptly ended the phone call. 2 days later I received a text from her which I blocked immediately. 2 days after that she called my phone from a different number and left a lengthy message trying to promote the gym. I never gave her my phone number. I can only assume she pulled it from caller id. Very unprofessional and disturbing. Update: as you can see from their response below, they only think what they did was inappropriate because I was calling on someone else’s behalf. Even if I was the inquiring party it’s still harassment and a disgusting business practice. Double shame on you.

Positive experience: Enjoy the atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Sometimes locker room floors are a little dirty. Ricky and Adrienne are awesome. Enjoy the morning group. Would be nice if some kind of shading or blind could be put on the windows in the cardio room. Sun is really bright when riding the bikes. The top third of the windows would be sufficient.

Fantastic experience: South Alaska Club was such a memorable first experience. The dynamic community is so welcoming and presented an environment I want to be a part of. Negative experience: Shameless place (Fairbanks location only) with a shameless general manager Dustin that lies to your face! Been a customer for over 10 years and more than 15 thousand dollars later this place is a joke! They took the tire flip machine apart and when i asked what happened since a lot of us we’re using it James ( office manager ) said there is no space ! Machine was there for years , suddenly no space now in the largest location of all AK club network ! Tried talking to general manager Dustin and he said yeah we’ll try to place it in our heavyweight room but cant now ( maybe a week 2,3 basically told me to get lost)because were busy with the water slide ! Straight lied to my face because and elder gentleman took it apart in 20 minutes ( i was present)while a whole different crew was setting up the slide by the pool! Pretty low as a man to lie let alone as a general manager!

Positive experience: Been a member for 25 years. The South Club is convenient to my residence. The Club and Management can work better for the membership. Things like getting ice melt or grit on sheet ice on parking lot. Policing the men's locker room for open cameras, posted prohibited and keeping the under 21 out of older adult areas. Cleaning could be stepped up a notch as well.

Positive experience: I love the club-- great classes, instructors and services (great deal for a fantastic massage!). Unfortunately, the customer service is atrocious. Its incredibly frustrating and disorganized trying to contact people for help-- even tasks as simple as switching my email address or finding someone to help when you're actually at the club. I've also made it a point to sign up my son for swim lessons, but each time there are several classes cancelled (one month over half the classes!) another time, they told me I was at the wrong class after 3 sessions (I had asked 2 different staff members if I was in the right class). The teachers are great, but the club seems very disorganized.

Fantastic experience: Got the pleasure of working with JJ from the sales team who was so friendly and helped me sign up quick an easy. Encouraged me to come back and check out summit and let me know about a new piece of equipment they are getting soon - cryo bed, which I’m really excited for. Fantastic experience: 100% worth the money! I've been attending this gym for a few months, building a routine and trying out new equipment and techniques. The other members are often very helpful for spotting on weights and respectable through each workout area. The staff is always positive and helpful too, especially JJ from memberships! JJ was incredible on introducing me to the facility and gets things straightened out with accounting whenever I need to make changes and what not! GOAT Status

Positive experience: The Alaska Club South has been a great place to workout in general. Their classes, and especially the instructors, are really top notch! The rest of the gym is like any other gym in general. Things I don't like: the classes are very full, the gym is extremely busy and space is limited at best, parking at peak times is cut-throat, the young workers at the front desk tend to ignore you when you come in because they are on their phones or chatting, the locker room is shabby. This is incredibly minor, but the aesthetics at the south gym have always bothered me. Who picks those colors??? I favor the much sleeker East branch. The membership is very high compared to the other gyms in town but you have access to a pool and other things you wouldn't at other gyms. However, if you don't use the pool and other amenities, it just feels like the cost is too much. I wish they offered different levels of membership so you could tailor it to your preferences and not overpay. All in all, our experience there is good and I would recommend joining. Its a great place for families.

Negative experience: Don’t usually do reviews but felt it would be good to share. Shady sales team. just moved back to town and purchased a $20 guest pass the other day to access the club. A few days later At the Alaska State fair I was given a free day guest pass to access any club from Alaska clubs fair booth. I came in to use my guest pass and the front desk required me to check in with a saleswomen and the saleswoman told me it was policy that I have to be wanting to sign up for membership if I wanted to use the guest pass. She showed me no such proof of policy. Then when I asked for my guest pass back she refused to return it to me. Wanting to note I had been a member for 10+ years before I moved.

Negative experience: Alaska Club has really gone downhill. They can't seem to keep workers due to minimal pay which affects the club. They are almost always out of towels in the locker rooms. There is obviously a need for family swimming but they are extremely limited on times and overcrowding the times that are available. The small pool is closed half the time due to camps and swim lessons. The hot tub is even worse. They are far overpriced for the availability. There are very limited options for family swimming in Alaska but I will not be choosing the Alaska Club.

Fantastic experience: Wow, some of these comments are pretty harsh. I've been a member for a few years with experiences at both Summit and South. Yes, they charge more than we would like, but they offer a lot if you utilize it. With the traffic that they have, I feel they maintain the facility and equipment well. I've never had an issue with customer service, but you can always request to see a manager and work with the situation. My only complaint is that they do not complete my work out for me - I have to do that part.
Fantastic experience: Love the pool and the variety of workout equipment & classes. GET THE APP! Easy to track workouts and stay motivated. Staff is friendly, effecient, & knowledgeable.

Positive experience: Steam room is down. This shouldn't happen. It's everyone's favorite part and, for some, our incentive to work out. #verydissappointed

Negative experience: The pool area is always full of kids. Even the hot tub. It's basically day care for kids.need to set time for kids. Not worth the money
Paul - Thank you for this feedback. Yes, we do have children in the pool and on deck during times when we offer swim lessons and open swim. We understand it's important to have adult / kid-free time, so we are going to mail you 2 passes to our Summit club (just on the other side of the building from South). This club is 21-and-over only, and has hot tubs inside the locker rooms, as well as coffee and tea to fully unwind. We believe we offer a value far beyond any other fitness club in Alaska, with multiple locker rooms, pools, basketball courts, racquetball, sauna/steam rooms, 24-hour access, and much more. Thank you again for your review, and we hope you are able to utilize/enjoy your passes at Summit.
Negative experience: The fact that one of the restrooms in the women’s locker room has been out of service for a literal weeks and is now starting to smell like sewage is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting on every level. There’s fecal matter in said toilet that’s just been chilling in there the entire time, seriously??? Handle that, why are we paying $100 a month so we can be exposed to hazardous waste!? That’s how hepatitis spreads.

Negative experience: I got a membership here to shower (I live without running water) didn't have much of a choice but I got one here because 1. It's near my job and 2. It's open 24/7 now i get off at midnight so theres not much in terms of options for me but i digress the prices are extremely expensive at $109 a month for a single person and they lock you into a year long contract and charge you $200 to cancel not sure what ill do if im fired it may be easier to withdrawl all my money just so i dont need to deal with it but on that note u best be sure you're on your best behavior did you desrespect the equipment fined $50 did you have a verbal altercation $50 fine did you forget to shower before swimming $50 of course im exaggerating a tad but they can and will fine you gor every rule break they save your bank into their system so u dont have a say whatsoever this is a very predatory business practice but like i said i didnt have much of a choice

Negative experience: I moved out of state 2 years ago and I still get calls and voicemails from them begging me to come back. I've asked them 4 times now (spoken to different managers and departments) to stop calling me and to delete my account/contact info but for 2+ years now they've kept calling and leaving voicemails.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. After trying to purchase a day pass from a new employee, I was schemed into being promised a day pass after a tour. Long story short, after an HOUR TOUR, I was pressured into a one-month membership and was promised it would not renew (I WAS WAITING FOR A FLIGHT, I DONT EVEN LIVE THERE). I left sobbing. I couldn’t believe this type of sales scheme is still in existence and never thought I would feel so powerless. I called my husband sobbing and felt disgusted with myself. Now, 6 months later, I see I’ve been getting charged monthly, even though I CRIED TO THE SALES REP that i did not want to be charged monthly. I’m absolutely horrified and terrified to tell my husband that this is where our money has been going. Worst experience ever, and I can’t believe how much it’s traumatized me.
Donica - I am very sorry to hear of your poor experience at our club. We try our best to be transparent about membership terms. I'm able to see that you signed up for a membership with no minimum commitment and a 60 day cancellation notice policy - I don't see record of a cancellation request. If you haven't done so already, please reach out to our accounting team at [email protected] so we can sort out your membership and avoid any future charges.
Negative experience: I wish there were more early morning cardio classes throughout the week for people who have to work 4-5 days a week. I am not a group power person so those classes are not enjoyable for me. There was a Wednesday morning class that was pretty good but I guess because of attendance it was cancelled. Which I do not understand because I have gone to other classes and there are only 4-5 people who attend, yet those continue to be on the schedule. So that is lame for me and anyone else who starts at 7:30am.
Jen - Thank you for the detailed feedback. We are currently recruiting for additional instructors specifically for early morning classes (stay tuned!). Just so you are aware, we do offer cycle classes and Master swim in the early morning time slots at South. We also have yoga sculpt at our West club on Tuesdays and Thursdays which provides a fusion of fitness strength, cardio bursts and yoga mobility. We would love to have you in any of those classes! Keep an eye on the group fitness schedule online for updates :)
Negative experience: The Alaska club is garbage. They charge way too much because there is no other gyms in Alaska and they can get away with outrageous prices, their sales team is terrible and all they care about is signing you up for a more expensive membership, and they lock you into contracts that are impossible to get out of without paying massive penalties. I would not recommend the Alaska club to anyone.

I was on a Family plan and paid $104 a month, when my daughter turned 14 they increased the fee to $160 a month. This is ridiculous, most gyms don’t start charging more until the kids are at least 16, but mainly 18. The other issue is that the back room, where there are loose weights is always really dirty. The floor always has thick dust all over.
Lexi - It sounds like you are referencing an upgrade from a single-parent plan to a family plan. Our single-parent plan includes a child 13 years of age or younger. When your daughter turned 14 you would have received a letter giving you the option to upgrade to a family plan which would give her unaccompanied access to most areas of our facility during business hours. With regards to the back room, we passed on your feedback to our South General Manager, and he has since detail cleaned all areas with free weights. Negative experience: Gym is clean, but the water fountains aren't serviceable, it's expensive and the other locations they claim come with your membership appear to be permanently closed. 60 days to cancel a contract, even if you find out the other locations are closed and tanning comes in a separate contract despite what you're paying in dues. Rate them with the Better Business Bureau, whomever is running this place shouldn't be, likely engaged daily in consumer fraud.
Alex - We will address the water fountains with our operations team. Again, which other locations are you referring to closing? We have not closed any Anchorage clubs and most of our gold level clubs are 24 hour access. The membership terms would have been reviewed in detail on the day you signed up. Negative experience: We paid for swimming lessons this past August. The swim instructor canceled and we were never told. Then we were told to ask for a refund, which we had several times. Every time we are always referred to another department and never make any headway. Still waiting on our $100+ refund. Awesome.
