Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center: Opinions
Fantastic experience: New Aquatic and Fitness Center… it offers swim classes and leisure activities. There’s a gym for members and dance classes. It’s a great place for activities especially during the cold months. Im a member there and I definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful facility with every piece of exercise equipment possible. Lots of classes and activities in leisure pool.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym at a fantastic price, particularly for county residents. Some machines are a little awkward. Have not tried the pools, but they look world class. Friendly staff. Needs better access to public transport, but the bike share station helps.
Positive experience: Brand new and beautiful, the Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center is a nice addition to Arlington County. The locker rooms are nice - I’ve only been in the multi-person this far. I appreciate this because it allows my husband to come along and help get our two toddlers ready for swim class. It is odd, however, that there are no benches by the lockers to sit anything on or sit down on; I suppose this is because they want people to change in the actual changing rooms within the locker room for privacy reasons. The swimsuit dryers are a nice little touch in the locker rooms. The facilities are very nice and the pool is fine. There could be a lot more to the play area for children and it feels like it is really lacking. The really cool-looking slide is only open on weekends, maybe, and has a pretty tall height requirement without the option for littles to ride with an adult - a huge bummer when there isn’t much for the kids to play on otherwise. The water temp is a little cool. My kids (and others that I’ve observed) come out of the pool shivering after swim lessons. Also, having to pay for parking is ridiculous! There is a need to restrict parking so that commuters don’t fill up the lot, but they could offer free one or two-hour parking! They’re already charging to use the facility, so it’s just another way to make money and it’s annoying. I was pleased to learn that my child’s swim lessons came with a parking pass to use, but anyone coming and paying to swim or workout shouldn’t have to pay to park. Overall, Arlington could have done better, but it’s better than not having anything at all.
Fantastic experience: Love this place. Was excited about the hot tub, then noticed all the other amenities I like in a gym, even a rope machine. Nice to be along the bridge path to get in a little triathlon training, able to manage all there sports. Only thing missing is an indoor tract (unless I didn’t see it). Pools and community centers are free in DC for DC residents, more than happy to spend my money here. So worth it!
