Fantastic experience: The biggest reason i can recommend this Trufit location is the childcare. Many other brands in the area shut down the kids area due to covid and never reopened. My daughter enjoys her time there, and the women there are pleasant and good with the kids, especially Stephanie. Most of my issues with the gym are very likely not due to anything the local staff are doing wrong, but issues with support from maintenance or corporate support. It can take a very long time to have the equipment repaired, and most of the time there is only one of each type of machine, so something being broken for months means you can't do that particular exercise. There is a lot of room between equipment in the weight training area, but only 3 flat benches, so they're always full unless you're here at a very off hour. There is a strange lack of certain weight plates (only 4 5lb plates in the entire gym?), and dumbbell weights. I assume the wasted space is due to covid era spacing, but more benches/equipment and weights would be awesome. On the plus side, I always see staff actively cleaning. And while the paper towels can deplete fast, they replace them frequently. Overall I'd recommend the gym, as you're always going to have little issues no matter where you go. And this location is the best choice if you have kids for sure.

Fantastic experience: I've been using this gym for over a year and I love it! Everyone at the gym is so nice and always willing to help. I'm so grateful for the childcare because Stephanie is always keeping me updated on how my daughter is doing. My daughter loves going to the gym with me now

Fantastic experience: I’ve been wanting to switch gyms for a while & thankfully came upon TruFit while on Google maps. Aracely reached out to me to set up an appointment & was extremely patient with my schedule & helping me out. When I came into the gym I was greeted with a friendly smile & shown around. Aracely provided great customer service & a lot of information before helping me sign up for a membership! I’m thankful & excited to start my new routine with TruFit.

Fantastic experience: Having the the kids club as part of my membership is great. Love love love Stephanie, she is great with my kids and always attentive. Training classes are great! Trainers and other staff are kind and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! My sons and I come here after school and my younger child goes to the Tru Kids play area. He loves it! Stephanie is super sweet and greets my son by his name. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Can't wait till our next workout! We all love going to this gym!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for 2 years and this is by far the best gym is your a mom. The kids club is great, clean and the staff is so friendly especially Stephanie. Can't beat having convenience as a mom and our hectic schedules for 30$ a month to be able to get up and go with your kids and work out.

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to Texas, and I was looking for a gym that was good with my schedule and my kids schedule. Trufit offers great kids club hours and that is what sold me. I’ve been coming to the club for almost 2 months already. And all I can say is nothing but wonderful things about the gym and the kids club, particularly the staff. I typically go in the mornings, and Steph is one of the staff members there in the kids club, she is seriously GREAT. My daughter already knows her and loves her she is so great with kids. It’s great being able to work out having a peace of mind that your kids are well taken care of. I would definitely recommend gym!

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Very clean and well maintained with a lot of workout equipment! Stephanie in the kids club is very welcoming, kind and attentive to the children, which is very important to me and gives me comfort in knowing my child will be well cared for while I workout. Fantastic experience: Love coming to this gym! The front desk is always nice to me, plenty of all the equipment and accessories I like to use, and most importantly, the gym is always CLEAN! The manager Paul also made signing up a breeze and seamless. Will definitely be referring all my friends here.

Fantastic experience: Ernest was great with explaining the ends and outs of the gym. Quite knowledgeable and put me at ease. Toured the facility and questions in regards to classes and workout rooms, locker rooms were discussed. Signing up was easy and I look forward to getting back to a healthier and slimmer way of life. Fantastic experience: I'm going to miss this Location. The staff is friendly and helpful! The Operation Manager, Ashley is always quick to answer and assist in any question or concerns. The gym is always clean, machines in working order, and the music is always on point

Also, I absolutely love that I can workout with peace of mind because there’s a great child care service. Stephanie is so sweet, I really trust leaving my kid with her. Fantastic experience: I had a good experience at this Tru Fit. The gym was very clean and the employees were very nice and helpful. I needed help with my account, a women by the name of Ashleigh was very helpful and explained what was going on and fixed my problem. I will definitely be going back to this gym.

Fantastic experience: By far the best gym I have been too! It’s hard to find a gym that has a daycare you can trust. And I can say that my husband and I 100% feel comfortable working out while my daughter (she’s 2) is at the day care. I know she is safe, having fun, and she actually looks forward to going everyday. We love it here!

Fantastic experience: Super convenient and has all the basics covered. The best part is the playroom. Stephanie is the best! She is always welcoming and so good with all the kids. Our 5 year old actually likes the gym because of her and it makes going to get a workout in so much easier.

They have fun at the kids club and Stephanie who is usually there is great too! The gym has good equipment and they play music which I think it’s nice. So far it’s been good!

Fantastic experience: This gym is absolutely fantastic. Full of friendly wonderful people. And a great welcoming atmosphere. I really love their kid care and the way those in charge there take extra care of my kids and makes sure they are happy and having fun while I am Working out. I don’t have to worry about them and know they will have a great time And be full of smiles when I pick them up.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym, been going for awhile now. I especially enjoy the staff. Every time I come in Stephanie goes out of her way to say hi and gives me the biggest smile and it just makes my day. Having support like that keeps me coming!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to this gym since February of 2022. What stood out the most and honestly made this a routine was knowing we were handing off our children in trusting hands while we work out. Stephanie does an absolutely amazing job with all three of our children regardless of the day of the week.

Fantastic experience: The Staff is always there to help! The manager has always responded quickly to any issues I’ve had and the ladies workout area is great for those women who aren’t yet comfortable in exercising in general areas! Love the Dry sauna after a good workout and machines are fixed quickly if they are out of order. Overall my experience has been wonderful!

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! The childcare is a huge plus! My kids can be so difficult so it’s hard to take them to any gym childcare’s but for the past year I’ve been going here Stephanie has been so patient and caring with them. They adore her!! Also, The trainers here are elite!!

Fantastic experience: My family and I regularly attend this gym, and we believe we made a great choice in choosing UC TruFit over any other. Our babies attend the KidsClub Daycare, and the ladies that watch our babies are incredible and so kind! Stephanie has quickly become their favorite person! She is extremely personable and loves our children as if they were her own. It's a huge relief as a mom in feeling comfortable enough to allow my babies to be left in the care of someone who truly cares for their well-being. **Editing to add that Charley and Leah are also such sweethearts, and they have always been so helpful and loving to our babies. We're going to miss Charley!** As for the gym itself, I normally use the ladies area, and it is hot as balls 24/7. A giant fan would be lovely. Maybe removing some of the broken down equipment in there to make space for one would help. Some of the equipment in there seems as if it was leftovers. They're still usable, but the main area of the gym is where the goods are.

Fantastic experience: Love coming to this gym! It’s not too crowded and most importantly the kids club workers are amazing!!! Stephanie, Charlie and Aaliagh are the SWEETEST . My boys love coming with me and it gives me comfort knowing they are well taken care of while I go for a quick workout . Thank you again

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great staff. Coaches are attentive and seek to help you improve your lifestyle in fitness and health. Stephanie in the kids club is great with the kids. Days when the kids are wilding out and it's a mad house she stays cool, calm, and collective. Her positive attitude during times of chaos is impressive.

Fantastic experience: Been going here near daily for a month now and I think this gym is great. A wide variety of machines, classes, free weights, and instructors. Outside of some normal wear and tear, the equipment is all in great condition and I never have a problem getting through my workout plan.

Fantastic experience: Just purchased a house last month and we’ve been trying to find our footing between boxes and new routines- I decided to try this gym on a whim since its on my commute to work. First this place was clean! (That’s such a big deal to me). Second the Kids Club was an added bonus. Ask for Stephanie, she was helpful and polite with the biggest smile. I felt better leaving my littles there while I got in a much needed yoga class. All my littles talked about that day was their dance party they had. I appreciate how people like Stephanie go out of their way to help you feel welcome, it’s the first time we’ve felt like this is home.

Fantastic experience: If you are a person looking for a great gym to exercise routinely this is that gym. Great quality equipment, well sanitized and amazing customer service. Any questions I had concerning the equipment or directions were answered clearly and in a professional manner (No rude tones). Fantastic experience: The entire staff is friendly, the gym is kept up and rarely do I see a machine down for more than a day, if one ever goes down. My trainer, Derek, has his hands full with my many limitations, but seems to always have fix for whatever pain or discomfort I’m experiencing at the moment. Seriously, it’s like he is a master mechanic fixing old, misused, broken machinery and getting it to work again. In only a month, I’m stronger and have less excuses to keep me reaching my goals which seemed unattainable previously because I would hurt myself trying on my own. Maybe the new management changed things around pretty quickly or maybe the bad reviews are here to keep you away and over crowding the gym.

Fantastic experience: I started my quest to a healthier lifestyle on August 1, 2022. My son attends another Tru Fit on the Northside of San Antonio and recommended that I try the one in Universal City. My first interaction was with Daniel. Very friendly, professional, and informative. I then met with Tyler, who entered me into the contract. Again, very friendly, professional, and informative. I decided to work with a personal trainer and Travis was the one who was assigned to me. Very helpful in getting me on the right track. He asks questions and then determines what path we would follow. After my third training session, I decided it would be best for me to go at least 6 months with Travis in pursuit of my physical fitness goals. I will start the 6 months with him on Monday, August 15, 2022. Additionally, I met with Matthew at the front desk because I was getting a little confused with the payments. He brought up my file and succinctly explained to me the payments I made, and what was going to be future payments. Again, Matthew was friendly, professional, and informative. Finally, I met James, who was the leader. Very nice, informative, and professional. Looking forward to working with them over the next six months. Well done, Universal City Tru Fit team! Well done!

Fantastic experience: Today was my first day at the gym and honestly, highly impressed. I signed up for the top program so I can utilize the child care option also and so far things are great. my child loves the care area and has fun... I got to work out. the equipment is clean, faculties are clean and organized.

Fantastic experience: So I go to both the Walzem Tru fit and this one as well. They're both fairly good gyms. They play music to get you in the mood and hype you up for your workouts. The staff is friendly and willing to talk to their customers. Some not so much but customer service is my key when doing Google reviews. I would recommend that true fit employees walk around every so often and ask THEIR CUSTOMERS how their workout is going to show value that they SHOWED UP. There are various workout machines that you can use. And they're always usually available. They also have a sauna that gets pretty hot, and they have showers that stay warm for when you want to get clean. So all in all there's a a variety of people that attend this gym. Some have goals to get strong and some have goes to get fit. There are a lot of beautiful people and a good atmosphere for whatever your goals are. I recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Great service, music, women’s section & sauna! Clean when the patrons also care about the place; staff def cleans up every day. There’s a children’s section with some toys and movies, which is chill for a 45 min-hour sesh. However, my 2 yr old couldn’t hang out for more than 20. I imagine older children will be good! JAZMIN was my trainer and met me where I was as a newcomer without judgment and lots of encouragement; I HIGHLY suggest her for your trainer if you’re looking for a friendly, highly professional, and fun leader and support person in the gym! My fiance has also worked with James, who helped him through unique training sessions, so my fiance continued and committed to a six-month contract with Tru Fit because all of the trainers here are worth it! Shoutout to Paul & James for simplifying the confusing contracts for me. Make sure you read them twice! Five stars because it feels like TRU FRIENDS AND FAMILY when you walk in.

Fantastic experience: My fitness journey has been very grateful for this gym environment. Compared to other gyms, TruFit gives you a clean aesthetic atmosphere that makes you want to keep up your consistency. Seeing trainers on the floor helping people and seeing different amenities that gyms with a similar price range seem to lack is what gives this place a 5 star review!

Fantastic experience: Lately under new management, i've noticed they have taken cleaning more seriously. I see them always doing team cleans and everybody works together to upkeep the gym. I have yet to see any other gyms take part like that. I have attached photos of the restroom from today that i saw when i came in to workout.

Fantastic experience: This place has gotten exponentially better. While I still will not do a personal training contract because of my prior bad experiences with it at this gym, it's a good gym. I'm always greeted when I arrive or leave from the desk attendant. Maribelle always says hi and is smiling and helpful. As for cleanliness: it's what I'd expect from a busy gym. I've seen considerably worse from other big gyms. They can't clean 24/7, it's not bad, plus patrons need to clean their own equipment and return it. The group fitness classes are really good; lots of variety since Chante (plus she's an awesome instructor along with the Tom, Laura, Aizel, James, Rich and Maryanne) arrived, not just Zumba. Some of the patrons in these classes are the real issue, not the instructor, that's another issue though. Walzem and UC are nice, spacious, roomy and clean gyms. Also, they've gotten better hours for Combo Six, as for a bit there it was only offered two days a week or so at Walzem. Patrons pay for that one extra, so a little disconcerting they couldn't get it together. Seems like they have. The refurbishment of Walzem; great improvement with an added Cycle room and Tru Power room. Personal training is a likely favorite, I highly recommend Darnell. They always have a special for so many sessions for a set number of dollars and it's a great deal. Plus, Darnell will work you, and he's a joy to talk with truly, smart guy and it's evident, but in an excellent way, he also does Tru Power and Total Body, excellent weightlifting/HIIT classes to take.

Fantastic experience: Basic gym that has all the necessities. Three weight areas, good sized cardio area with four stair masters (favorite). I come here because I enjoy the women’s only area which is a small gym within. Women’s area much bigger than expected! Also has it’s own stair master, and even a stretching area. Bathroom is basic; sometimes out of soap or towels, but I bring my own soap because the price is worth it. I don’t need frills in a gym. Opens at 7am on sat and sun confirmed today! Fantastic experience: A very good gym with a sauna, large cardio area and enough equipment to train any muscle group effectively. Shelby is a great trainer and her along with the other trainers are always so engaged with their clients. Its also nice to see that there is always someone on the floor cleaning. Honestly more gyms need to follow their simple yet successful business model.

Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly and acknowledgeable every time I came in, and cleanliness is usually on point. Ladies workout area and locker rooms are usually spotless! Unfortunately I had to move in the middle of my contract and I thought it was going to be hard to cancel, but the operations manager Ashleigh was so much help and canceled my account out smoothly. She kept in touch through emails and called to confirm once my cancellation was processed. Great customer service and clean gym can’t get any better :)

Fantastic experience: I recommend this gym to anyone that’s looking for a clean friendly environment. The staff is always friendly and available to answer any concerns. The General manager Paul Gomez was very professional and was not a pushy salesman. He was very knowledgeable about health and fitness and he genuinely offered to help me with my weight loss goals. If you are tired of gyms that sign you up and forget about you after then I recommend joining Tru Fit in Universal City because they will treat you like a person and not a number.

Fantastic experience: The gym is like any other, has the equipment you need to get a great out. Something that has stood out is their customer service they are all very friendly and encouraging. Daycare is truly great my babies love the ladies I truly appreciate you ladies. :) Shout out to my trainer Tristan R. while it's a love hate relationship most of the time, I have gained some much strength since I started with him. After having two babies back to back my body was a train reck and I had no strength but with his guidance and determination to help me not give up I've gotten to see great results and am happy to continue my journey.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many gyms since moving to San Antonio but this is by far my favorite. James has been helping me throughout my fitness journey in becoming fit and gaining muscle. He’s amazing and has helped me completely transform my body while challenging me but being very patient. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a trainer !
