At Pick It Up Fitness, we believe that every person is unique and deserves a tailored approach to fitness. We were formerly known as CrossFit Pick It Up, and we have been serving the Colorado Springs community since 2014.

Fantastic experience: Great place to get fit with an awesome group of people. I was looking for a place to experience Crossfit without the Hardcore Crossfit, eat, sleep, breathe mentality. Fantastic experience: By far the best gym experience I've had! Attended for around 3ish years and love the community aspect that Pick It Up fosters! No judgement here, athletes of all experience and fitness levels can get a great workout and the coaches will definitely make you feel welcome. It really made me motivated and excited to go to class to keep up with friends but also see my improvement over time. If you're nervous or hesitant I encourage you to try out Pick It Up! Fantastic experience: I’ve been to 3 CrossFit gyms and Pick it Up is by far the best when it comes to making adjustments for injuries. I went here for 6 months prior to a surgery and my Dr said the work I did there made my recover way faster. The group of trainers are fun and extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Pick it Up to any level of athlete.

Fantastic experience: Step it up has been awesome. It is changing my life and how I think about myself every day I attend classes. The coaches are very encouraging and they are able to give one on one attention and coaching even with a full class size (which is no more than 15 per session max). I don’t feel insecure attending despite not be the best of shape. All the members are very supportive, helpful and encouraging.

Fantastic experience: Attending Pick It Up Fitness has significantly changed my life both physically and mentally. It has also helped me gain an even better understanding on what it's like to truly be in shape and stay in shape. I will admit, CrossFit intimidated me at first especially after watching a documentary on it and hearing about some of the strength training involved, but I am here to tell you that just about anyone can do it! No matter your fitness level/experience, or goals, the classes are designed for you to challenge yourself but they are also there as more of a guideline to work your way up to the prescribed workout; with the option to scale it as you continue to build on your stamina and overall muscle. I always feel so welcomed at each and every class, and it makes me really feel like part of the PIU family. The coaches are all so motivating and even take the time to observe each person during the class and provide advice to make sure we're lifting properly. I am thankful for the decision I made to join PIU and to take that step into something I was so uncertain about. It has allowed me to be in some of the best shape of my life and truly enjoy weightlifting now! For anyone reading this who are hesitant about CrossFit, I am living proof that you CAN and WILL enjoy it especially when you choose to become part of the PIU community.

Fantastic experience: If you want to get in shape without the distractions, pseudo-exercises and hamster wheels of traditional mega gyms, then Pick It Up is the place for you. Come in, move your body and pick up things of various weights and sizes all with the guidance of very attentive and knowledgeable coaches.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place. It’s a friendly and encouraging community that’s not crazy competitive and you scale as you need. Beginners to seasoned athletes will feel welcome. It’s getting in shape and working out together and the only real competition is with yourself to put in the work and keep showing up. Owners and trainers are knowledgeable, real, fun and genuinely care. I’m going on about four months and highly recommend others give it a try.

Fantastic experience: Joined PickItUp a few months back and couldn't be more happy with my decision. I couldn't get motivated going to the normal gyms anymore. Fantastic experience: I have so many great things to say about my gym! I was nervous to join a CrossFit gym because I am not super buff or what people think of when they think of a cross fitter but I have had the greatest experience with Pick It Up Fitness. The coaches are so friendly and motivating. I love that the coaches always go over the movements and make sure we are safe before we get into the grit of the workout. I always leave the workouts feeling better about my fitness journey! I highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I was intimidated by Group Gyms or Crossfit Gyms for the longest and I decided to give one a try. I found Pick it up and saw that there were people at different levels of physical ability. I also like that there is a wide range in the age group. It's like I joined a family and the coaches are really nice and pay attention to you. Come check it out!

Fantastic experience: This is a great place focused on safely executed functional fitness. I’ve been training here since Fall of 2021 but I’ve been doing functional fitness, olympic lifting, and crossfit in various forms for the last 11 years. The coaches are nice and knowledgable. This is a great place for folks of all levels, from first-day-ever training to advanced lifter, the programming is wide and varied and well thought out. There is a big focus on safety and hard work, which really resonates with me.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 - Highly Recommend! Five stars is not enough. CrossFit Pick It Up is more than just a gym - it’s a small, tight-knit community where you’ll get to know the owners, trainers, and your fellow classmates. Choose the class you want for the day and then show up for a one-hour workout that is designed to expand your capacity for fitness in many respects including strength, cardio, and endurance. While I personally wouldn’t say I’m great in all of these regards, I have noticeably progressed in them all since joining the gym in December. Not only is this because the workouts are designed to be challenging (don’t be intimidated though, there are all kinds of variations based on your skill-level) but also because there is accountability at a gym where your coaches and peers know you by name and ask where you’ve been if you miss a few days. The time, attention, and encouragement you'll get at Pick It Up is unparalleled! Come join this community, put in more effort than you would in a home workout or a Globo-Gym, and you’ll see huge changes in yourself like I have seen in myself in just a few short months!

Fantastic experience: Nothing but positive things to say about PIU. Down to earth, awesome community and coaches, a great fit for anyone at any health stage. Fantastic experience: I have been a member at PickItUp for over 2 years and have a lot of love and respect for this gym. The owners have created a community where people of all levels of fitness are welcome. The coaches are very knowledgeable and friendly and will help you reach your fitness goals. At the age of 44 I am the strongest I’ve ever been because of this place. I put off joining this gym for 3 years because I was intimidated by the thought of doing CrossFit again (that was dumb, this place is awesome). At PickItUp the classes are small and you’ll quickly get to know the members there and will have friends in every class. Stop hesitating. Just sign up.

Fantastic experience: This gym is so awesome! So me: I'm a computer nerd guy. I had no idea what a barbell was, or how to do a push-up or anything. I did an onboarding with one of the coaches, Wes. He was extremely patient with me, but over time, he turned me into someone who was able to exercise without hurting myself all the time, and without making a fool of myself! Now I can go to classes and have the confidence to keep up. This format really works for me. Class is one hour - you pick the time, but what you do is all programmed and ready to go. You'll get an excellent workout. CrossFit is not as scary as it sounds, and this is definitely a very supportive and fun environment for people of low (like me) and high skill levels. The culture of CrossFit Pick It Up is what makes it special to me - I drive by other CrossFit gyms to go here because of that culture specifically.

Fantastic experience: Joining a new gym can be a very intimidating experience, especially if you are an introvert, like myself. From the moment I walked into Pick It Up Fitness, just over a year ago, I felt very comfortable with the owners, coaches, and fellow athletes. The coaches are all extremely knowledgeable in exercise science and all the different lifts. The coaches focus on correct form and injury prevention. If I struggle with a lift, they offer multiple different modifications or coach me through each part of the movement. I never feel pressured to lift more than I am comfortable lifting. I have left other gyms because this. I have also learned many new stretching techniques that have greatly improved my mobility. I am so thankful I found Pick It Up. Attending class is one of the highlights of my day.

Fantastic experience: Earlier this year, I moved to Colorado Springs from out of state and was looking to meet new people and become more active! I had never tried CrossFit before, but I decided I wanted to give it a shot. I was very hesitant at first as it had been a while since I had stepped foot in a gym, but because of the great coaches and relationships I have developed over the last couple of months, I have stuck around while improving my overall health! Fantastic experience: Great place to learn and gain quality and scaleable skill. Matt and his incredible coaching team is always there to improve your form, help you scale and accomplish lifting goals, and push you to your full potential. The youtube videos they post, the apps they have to offer to track your progression and give you personal tutorials, and Matt’s podcast really helped enrich the experience and helps you discipline so that you can achieve your full potential. Another great addition is the energy each coach brings that makes you WANT to come at 6am to have a powerful workout. If I was not moving out of state, I would have stayed going here for the long term. Highly recommend, do not be shy they are very welcoming and encourage all skill levels and experience level as well. You will enjoy the coaches training and all the other peeps that come train! Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to PIU since 2015 and I would highly recommend them to anyone, regardless of your age or physical abilities (I’m over 50). The coaches and staff are super friendly and great at scaling the workouts to your abilities, ensuring safety, a great workout, and that you feel part of the group. It’s a very friendly atmosphere with a great group of folks of all age groups, youngsters to the “masters”!

Fantastic experience: I don’t attend PIU anymore due to injury. With that being said, this is by far the best gym in the springs. If you are new CrossFit or fitness in general I can’t speak high enough of what Matt and Hannah have put into their business and members. You won’t regret joining.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to PIU for just over a year now and I can easily say it is the best part of my day. The Owners, other Coaches and my fellow workout partners are just good people who care about one another. The culture is amazing and it is more than just a place to workout. We get great coaching, education on many facets of being healthy and are allowed to work at our own pace. I would recommend this "gym" to anybody looking for the real deal and another place to call home!

Fantastic experience: What I liked to most about the place is how easy it was to get an understanding of the different movements and forms in a short period of time. Also, I appreciate the fact that batch size is limited to 12 which ensures better attention to the group and has helped me correct many flaws in my movements. The nutrition program is a great value addition in combination with great coaching. Overall super experience till date.

Fantastic experience: Been a member here for a year+. My favorite part of this gym is the consistency in quality coaching. Even as a regular, I always receive constant feedback to improve my form, to push harder in something, or be encouraged to focus on form instead of weight. I also love that the owners are always thinking of creative classes, merchandise, events, and competitions for its members on a monthly basis. The coaches: Wes, Dane, and Jesse are invested in your fitness journey just as much as you are and know what they’re talking about. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a positive atmosphere to improve their fitness at any level.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely worth every penny! the coaching staff is amazing and I just have to show up and do the work. They offer 1-1 coaching as well as group classes. We are in and out of there in 1 hour which helps with a busy schedule. The community and daily encouragement is the best! All levels of fitness are welcome and everything can be scaled if needed. Fantastic experience: This gym is one of the best I have joined! It is nothing like a typical gym membership. The coaches and management do an amazing job with creating a family atmosphere with competition and fun! Fantastic experience: We have been a member of Pick It Up Fitness for just over a year and we have really enjoyed our time there. The sense of community and the “family welcome” feel is what hooked us in to give it a try and this sense of community has been in effect the whole time. The coaches and the athletes there are just a bunch of good people – fun, we push each other in a healthy way, and just all around friendly. (I asked a favor on the member page and within 5 minutes I had three offers of help from members). They also do a lot of things that build the culture - internal competitions, health challenges, movement clinics, sports teams, parties, interest gatherings (like a book club), and the list goes on. I feel like the owners are constantly working to get to know us better and care about what interests us. I also like that the gym is pretty balanced with male and female members. My perception has been that gyms that have barbells can be pretty heavy on the male side. I love that the gym is pretty balanced and that as I move along my own progression, I can see many women there that are strong and have moved along their own progression to get there – it’s so empowering. I have seen many gains and met many personal fitness goals going to Pick It Up Fitness.

Fantastic experience: 6 months ago I joined a 12-week challenge for people over 50 and was introduced to CrossFit PIU. Having never done CrossFit, I was concerned about being able to keep up and not hurt myself. My concerns were put to rest in the first class. I joined the gym after seeing significant results from the challenge and couldn't have been happier with my decision. Matt is an awesome coach and the group class is perfect for me...challenging, fun, supportive, no repeat workouts, and positive instruction/correction. I worked with Hannah to dial in my nutrition and eating plan. Highly recommend this gym!!

Fantastic experience: I've been doing small group personal training here for over a year and recently signed up for one-on-one personal training sessions. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and push me to beyond what I'd do in a gym setting on my own. I've gotten better results in 30-45 minutes at PIU than in 60 minute classes elsewhere. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get in better shape or take their fitness journey to the next level.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since February 2019. I wanted to get more exercise for health reasons but found I didn’t have the discipline to do it on my own. I have never belonged to a gym before and have never really considered myself to be athletic. I wanted to get the most for my time so CrossFit seemed like the most reasonable solution. It was also important to me that the place have great reviews, a good location and flexibility for class times. Pick It Up had all of these things. And I’m happy to say that, despite the very diverse membership, I feel like I belong. I think the leadership at this location attracts all types of people, which gives the organization great character and keeps people, like me, coming back.

Fantastic experience: I have been personal training with Matt since June 2019 and I just love it! All the coaches here are very nice and awesome at what they do. Matt really focuses on what I need to achieve my goals. I have never done any personal training before and I am loving it and loving my results! Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this amazing gym for over 3 year and I absolutely love it! I had never stepped foot in a CrossFit gym prior, as I was incredibly intimidated. As a former runner, I had very limited experience with any weight lifting other than body pump classes at a big box gym. I am so thankful I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave this a shot. The community and coaches at Pick It Up are phenomenal! I love that the workouts are different every day, and the coaching staff really supports you with your personal goals. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Pick It Up Fitness for just over a year and am so glad that I joined. I had no experience with CrossFit before joining, and Matt and the other coaches have been so helpful as I learned how to perform each movement safely. The programming is great and there are different levels for every workout so no matter your fitness level or injury history, you’ll have a workout that can be easily tailored to your needs. The coaches and other members are really encouraging and make getting to the gym before the sun rises worth it!

Fantastic experience: I have worked with 3 other personal trainers over the course of almost 5 years, and I am happy to have ended up as a regular here. The owner Matt has a natural gift for personal training; he has that key combination of friendly energy that makes him enjoyable to work out with, but is also serious about fitness and pushing you to your goals, and he doesn't let you slack off. After 4 months I have yet to miss a workout since I look forward to it so much each time, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the rate of my progress. The facilities are big enough to accommodate classes and personal training at the same time without it ever feeling cramped, and the location is in a place where you can work out both indoors and outdoors. I haven't taken the actual group classes, but they look fun, and everyone seems committed to getting it done with a smile. Recommend this place much.

Fantastic experience: From top to bottom, this place has been the absolute best place since day one of joining. Super solid group of members who quickly become like family. Locally owned by a terrific young family, the wife/husband combo do a great job in creating and coordinating unique workout programming and it's awesome! The coaching staff are motivating and knowledgeable, but more importantly they all truly care about your success--no matter what your goal. If you are exploring Crossfit for the first time and maybe feel nervous about it, that's OK. Pick It Up's workout environment is very welcoming. Never will you be ridiculed or leave feeling like you're a bad human being just because you couldn't do a pullup, or something. Here, it's just normal people trying to get a little better everyday.
