The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, which has been closed since March 2020, has received funding for repairs that will help reach a projected reopening date of late Fall 2022. The Community Center has been allocated a $1 million federal grant as part of a Community Project Funding package that Congressman Ted Lieu requested for 10 projects in California’s 33rd Congressional District. Additionally, Los Angeles County, along with Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, have committed an additional $1.01 million in grants toward the cost of the roof repair using a combination of Measure A and Prop A funds. The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center Joint Powers Authority Boardmembers will continue to work with City Staff on applying the funding to much needed repairs and maintenance, but pause to comment on the good news!

of the Agoura Hills Cultural and Community Center Commission I am extremely thankful to Congressman Lieu and Supervisor Kuehl for their support of the AHCCC. This much-needed injection of funds will ensure that we can continue to be a crucial resource for our community, from fitness and celebrations to being a hub for voting and emergency services.

of the Commission We are excited to receive these substantial grants. The facility is in need of essential renovations, and we are hopeful the grants will allow us to re-open to the public later this year.

, Agoura Hills Community & Cultural Center I am very grateful to Congressman Liu for securing a $1 million federal earmark for essential repairs and upgrades to the Agoura Hills Community & Cultural Center (AHCCC), and to Supervisor Kuehl for allocating an additional $1 million from Los Angeles County Prop A funds. The AHCCC is a valuable community asset that deserves this significant investment of public funds, which will enable the center to serve the Agoura Hills and Calabasas communities for many years to come. I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Directors of Community Services Amy Brink (AH) and Erica Green (C), as well as City Managers Nathan Hamburger and Kindon Meik, for their hard work in securing these essential funds.

The Community Center has received funding to make repairs and upgrades, so we can return to providing recreation, wellness, athletic, and social opportunities for our communities.

, Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center I was thrilled to hear that the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center was going to receive the needed funding to enable the center to begin work on the needed repairs and plan for the reopening. The pandemic and regulations put us out of business and was a big blow to those who used the Community Center. Soon we will be able to serve our friends and neighbors once again.

The Agoura Hills, Calabasas Community Center has long been an important gathering spot for residents in our area. From basketball leagues to birthday parties, AHCCC has functioned as a gathering point for our community where people have exercised, trained, played and celebrated for 20 years. The Covid-19 pandemic has hit everyone hard, however thanks to the tireless work of Congressman Ted Lieu and Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, AHCCC will soon once again be able to reopen its doors. All of us affiliated with the Center are so excited about this critical infusion of funds and being able to utilize these resources to repair and update the building. Personally I can’t wait to see families attend the St. Patrick’s Day event, Trunk or Treat and other celebrations once again. Matt Heller, President, Community Center Alliance, Boardmember

for the Agoura Hills Calabasas Community Center We are extremely grateful to Congressman Lieu for including a $1 million federal grant in the Community Project Funding, and to Supervisor Kuehl for allocating another $1M through a combination of Measure A and Prop A funds. With these funds available to address the aging infrastructure, we are excited to envision the reopening of the Agoura Hills Calabasas Community Center later this year. We are committed to shaping a financially sound operation and hopeful that the community will help us program a vibrant gathering place for our residents and neighbors.

Happy New Year! Thank you for supporting the AHCCC. The AHCCC is closed at this time, but the cities are working hard to establish a re-opening. Please keep checking the website for updates!

The AHCCC is grateful for the continued support of the community during this time. The JPA Board of Directors is working diligently with the cities of Agoura Hills and Calabasas to establish a reopening plan that takes into account the many challenges the facility faces, including financial, maintenance, and staffing issues. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Thank you!

The AHCCC is still closed and is not accepting any reservations, registrations, memberships, or drop-ins uses at this time. There is no set date for reopening, so please keep checking this website for updates.

The State lifted restrictions on June 21, 2021 that were put in place for the COVID-19 crisis. The AHCCC remains closed at this time, but the JPA Board of Directors is continuing to work through the financial challenges the crisis brought. The City of Calabasas recently announced plans to begin maintenance and repair work on the roof, which will take several months and delay a potential reopening. Please check here for updates on the future reopening of the AHCCC.

The AHCCC is currently closed to the public, but the Board of Directors is working on a plan to reopen soon. In the meantime, restrictions are beginning to be lifted in LA County and throughout the State.

The AHCCC and Albertsons Pharmacy hosted a FOUR Cities Vaccine Clinic today! Over 2,000 vaccinations were administered to local community members. Thank you to all the volunteers and city staff who helped make this happen!

The Private Covid-19 Testing site has finished using the facility. The Community Center remains closed to the public. As of February 12, 2021, the Community Center will no longer have any staff. However, the Center will still be maintained and e-mails will be answered weekly. Please contact [email protected].

The Agoura Hills/ Calabasas Community Center is still closed because of health regulations. We don't have a date yet for when we'll be able to start operating again. We're grateful for your patience and hope to be able to serve you in 2021. Memberships are still on hold, and we can't take any deposits for future events or programs right now.

It feels like it was a lifetime ago that we celebrated our 20th anniversary, but today, on our 21st anniversary, things are so different. We've been shuttered since March 14, 2020 and still don't know when, if, or how Community Centers will be allowed to reopen. This is the season of hope and togetherness, and I truly hope that this message finds you safe and able to celebrate the season in new and special ways. Thank you for being a part of our journey in this crazy year, and keep the hope alive for us to be able to open again soon.

Hi, it's been a while since we've seen you. We hope you and your family are staying safe during these difficult times. Unfortunately, we have some bad news. The Community Center has had to spend all of its savings during the closure. If we want to reopen, we're going to need some significant financial support from the community. As you probably know, L.A. County is still in the most restrictive category for reopening, and with the number of cases rising, places like ours are low on the list of priorities. When facilities have reopened in other parts of the state and country, they look very different. There are smaller numbers of people allowed, limited hours, no group gatherings, limited staffing, increased maintenance, and more expensive supplies. As a large facility that is almost 21 years old, we have a lot of capital improvement items that need to be addressed. We need a strong funding base to be able to cover the costs of reopening.

Giving Tuesday is an annual event where people are encouraged to donate to causes they care about. Our non-profit arm has set up a donation button on our website if you are interested in donating to the Community Center Alliance. Please note that donations to the cause unfortunately cannot guarantee that we will be able to reopen. The CCA encourages you to give if you are able to and want to support the center.

In conclusion, I want to express how thankful I am to all of you for your support, friendships, and positive attitude. The community has been great to us and I hope that we can continue to be a part of your lives. Thank you.

The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is currently closed, but the Board of Directors is working on a new business plan and restructure. They are seeking public input and feedback on the Center and its purpose in 2021 and beyond. If you have comments or ideas, please send them to Executive Director Brianne Anderson at [email protected]. The non-profit arm, the Community Center Alliance, is also looking for new members to help with fundraising for the Center. If you are interested in becoming a part of this new chapter or making a financial contribution, please reach out to Brianne at [email protected]. The Board is looking forward to serving the community again and hearing from its members, residents, and site visitors. Finally, they have some refund checks that have not been cashed yet, and they ask that you cash them at your earliest convenience.

Our doors may be closed, but there are still plenty of virtual programs to take advantage of (some free, some not). We've reached out to our vendors to help connect you with them so you can still enjoy the amazing services they offer.

Zini Joshi is currently offering free BollyX classes. You can follow her on Instagram for updates on online classes: @zinijoshi or connect with her on Facebook at "Zini Joshi".

The Board of Directors of the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center Joint Powers Authority met on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 6:30 pm to discuss the financial status of the Community Center and the potential for an extended temporary closure. After reviewing the Center’s major losses during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the liabilities that the Center will be responsible for in the next six months, the Board made the terribly hard decision to temporarily shut down operations as of June 1, 2020, with an anticipated re-opening in January 2021. Regularly scheduled programs will not be held during the temporary closure; however, the Center is working on alternate solutions for all programs and will keep the participants and the public updated as these decisions are made. The JPA Board of Directors wants to make sure that the community is aware that this measure was not taken lightly and was approved with the hope of seeing the Center fully operational in the future. It has been a wonderful asset to the community over the past 20 years, and the Board is fighting to make sure that it will continue to be so despite the financial hardships it has undergone.

The JPA Board of Directors, the Executive Director, and the two cities will work together to revitalize the Center with a plan that is sustainable and best serves the communities’ current and future needs. The Board and staff want the community to be involved in this process and are looking for the community to share ideas, programs, and needs with the Board to help them make sure that the Center can remain a vital piece of the community. Please reach out to Brianne Anderson, Executive Director at [email protected] to share comments regarding the Center in 2021 and beyond. Please make sure to follow our website and social media for meeting updates and additional opportunities to get involved in the process.

Refunds will be issued for any events, programs, memberships, camps, and security deposits that have not yet been processed. Memberships will be placed on hold during this time and no charges will be made to anyone's account.

If you have questions about the temporary closure or want to support the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, please contact the Executive Director at [email protected]. You can also find meeting and status updates on the Center's website at www.ahccc.org.

This year has been difficult for everyone. With most of the state under strict restrictions again, many businesses have had to close their doors, small businesses are still struggling, and some schools have had to delay their reopening. Our holidays are still happening, but they look different this year.

Times are tough and it seems like the reopening of businesses and schools is not happening anytime soon. Many people have lost their jobs and virtual everything is the new normal. I am often asked when things will get back to normal, but I don't have an answer.

We've been getting a lot of questions about this lately, so I wanted to remind everyone that the decision to temporarily close the center was a tough one made by the JPA Board of Directors because of the center's financial situation. Like many businesses that were hit hard by the pandemic, the center is facing some serious financial challenges.

The AHCCC will be posting links to activities and tips on staying healthy both physically and mentally during this time; activities to do at home with and without children; tips from the business community; how to assist your neighbors from afar; and more. You may also follow us on our social media for some chances to socially interact without putting anyone at risk. As we have been doing these since 3/24/2020 and our tips are getting long, we have reactivated our blog so that you may view each day or previous days by visiting our blog on the link above.

Fantastic experience: 4/12/21 Note: this review is for the temporary covid vaccination site established at this location. The vaccination site is very well organized with volunteers guiding candidates every step of the way. My appointment was at 10:45 and I was done with the shot at 10:53. You need to wait another 15 mins under observation for any reactions from the vaccine. There is a tent set up and seats are socially distanced for safety. Water bottles and candies are provided as well. The site requires prior appointment and you need to have a consent form, a copy of a valid ID and your insurance. This is a super smooth operation.

Fantastic experience: The Center has 2 beautiful basketball courts and a great basketball coach! Ask for Eric Snyder for all levels of basketball training. Eric puts all his effort and more to train his students to become the best of the best. He is driven and motivated which in turn translates to all his students. Eric offers semi-private and private basketball training; sport specific training and weight training; jump training and personal training services. Thank you Eric for instilling love for basketball in all your students as well as for reaching amazing results through your trainings! You are a great asset to the Agoura Hills Community Center.

Positive experience: The place itself is very nice, clean, and tucked away from traffic. Decently priced for renting the venue and the large banquet room. Quaint outside patio and open lobby area. I've left several messages for the event coordinator there and even went in person to try to make contact, with no avail. Guess it was not meant to be...
