Positive experience: This gym is like the one in West Seneca- Looks great from the outside but the inside is getting dated. Both locations need remodels in various areas while the price keeps going up. Not everyone can get silver sneakers or Y for all access. The ones who do not are left footing the bill. This model has to change or the ymca will cease to exist. Way to much monthly for what you get.

Fantastic experience: the best YMCA in the area. They have old and new equipment. The biggest hot tub I've ever seen, a sauna steam room, pools and even child care if you need it

I had a great time- and to everyone who dressed up in a costume for the Trot - thank you!! It’s an amazing atmosphere and experience! Try it out and let’s fundraise together ! YMCA The after run party at the convention center was FUN! See you next year!

Negative experience: They don't have day passes, and you need to know a current member to get one, which I don't. How am I supposed to try the place out and see if I like it? Plenty of other YMCAs do this for accessible prices which is why I didn't expect otherwise when I came in for cardio this morning. Seems pretty ridiculous to me.

Positive experience: Great facility, but staff is clueless. I have often informed them about their own events, and details around programing. There are great programs here but the staff doesn’t seem to have access to a program calendar.

Negative experience: Review for YMCA on Tech Drive I want to share my experience as a member because I feel very defeated after this morning’s Body Pump class. A little back story: over the past two years I’ve lost 140 lbs through diet alone. Recently I’ve been adding exercise to my routine because I want to tone up and enjoy moving my body in new ways. I joined the YMCA because it’s a family-friendly place where my kids can also be active — a true win-win. At least, that’s what I hoped. Last week, I brought my three daughters with me to the 5:30am Body Pump class. They were excited to use the track to practice for the Turkey Trot while I worked out. When class ended, I found them upset because a staff member told them they were too young to be on the track. I understood — rules are rules — and asked if instead they could sit in the class quietly next time. The staff member told me to check with the instructor, and he said it was completely fine. Fast forward to this morning: I had an amazing Body Pump workout while my girls sat quietly in the corner, completely out of the way, just on their phones. Everything seemed perfect… until we were leaving. That’s when the director stopped me and said I can’t bring my daughters at all, calling it “too dangerous.” I could understand if my kids had been disruptive or unsafe — but they weren’t. They were simply sitting quietly, minding their own business. As a mom, especially a single mom, trying to model healthy habits for my kids, this felt incredibly discouraging. It’s already hard enough to motivate myself to get up at 5:00am, let alone three little ones. Having my effort shut down by leadership left me feeling unsupported at a place that should represent community, family, and encouragement. I want to be clear: every instructor I’ve met at this YMCA has been absolutely wonderful, supportive, and welcoming. They’ve been the highlight of my membership. Unfortunately, my interaction with leadership has left me questioning whether this is truly the right place for me and my family. As members, especially parents trying to balance fitness with family life, we need solutions and support — not discouragement. I hope leadership takes this feedback seriously and works toward being more inclusive of families like mine.

Negative experience: All the younger life guards was super nice but one older lady with a life guard shirt on had an attitude with my family members for simply jumping into the pool , like what? it’s a pool‍♂️ and we weren’t bothering anyone so I don’t know what was her problem was with us. Won’t be going back.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with bright, cheerful decor and a friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The layout is spacious, allowing the kids to explore while we kept an eye on them. There’s a wonderful mix of engaging activities that cater to children of all ages, from interactive exhibits to hands-on workshops that sparked our kids’ creativity. One of the standout features was the art and craft station, where our kids could unleash their imaginations. They had a blast creating their own masterpieces, and I loved seeing their excitement as they proudly showed us their creations. The staff members were incredibly supportive and encouraged the kids to express themselves, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the variety of family-friendly snacks and beverages available at the café. After a busy morning of activities, we took a break to refuel, and the options were both tasty and healthy—perfect for keeping the kids energized! Another highlight of our visit was the themed events scheduled throughout the day. We were fortunate enough to join a storytelling session that captivated both kids and adults alike, and the enthusiasm of the storyteller truly brought the tales to life. It was heartwarming to see our children so engaged and excited. Overall, our visit to Independent Health Family YMCA was an unforgettable experience that catered perfectly to families. The combination of fun activities, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment made it a fantastic day out. Positive experience: What a beautiful gym. I signed up for a month. I only used the treadmill. It had plenty of space and a bright view of outside. I can't stand a bunch of screaming kids in the locker room and pool. I found a nice gym with a beautiful pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and lots of treadmills and other cardio machines. The membership is half the price. I highly recommend this location for families. Today was my last day . I'm gonna miss the treadmill and beautiful view

Positive experience: What a great gym! The pool is a good size. Staff are friendly. The child watch has great staff in the morning ( haven't been in the afternoon yet). The weight and exercise equip are well maintained. Plus there is a walking track, bball courts and tons of classes offered. The only thing that needs to be changed is the women and girls locker room needs a swim suit dryer( water extractor).

Negative experience: I spoke with someone on the phone that was very rude I travel for work and was seeking relief for pain in the hot tub. The guy insisted that there is not day pass at the YMCA. I've been using day passes at the YMCA for 5 years in places like Long Island, OKC and Jonesboro just to name a few. I am aware that there is an option for membership but for me, in Buffalo there is no option.

Negative experience: Joined for one month and got a staph infection/mrsa in my nose .this facility is very dirty. Had to take heavy round of antibiotics to get rid of. Too many ppl using the pool, sauna dry& wet, whirlpool. Not being properly disinfected and sanitized. Rude members who monopolize equipment and areas. Gross community locker rooms. A terrible experience. The state should step in and regulate the uses of these communal amenities. Esp the pool area. canceled my membership!

Negative experience: Health/Hygiene issues at this location. Babies in swimming diapers are allowed in the large pool, even though there is a special childrens pool at this location, which can be emptied or drained more easily if one of these babies has a “load”:in their diaper. Rules are not followed by instructors /life guards who could easily redirect these families to the childrens pool. No one want to swim in a pee saturated pool!

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional staff who were rude to my younger cousins and brothers while visiting the Williamsville Independent Health branch YMCA. Greg Larson District Vice President will never return a call or voicemail even when he sends an employee(Trevor) to promise he will give you a call. At the Ymca on Belmont they do not have his contact information or business cards available and I was told to call the Williamsville location when I was there at the Belmont location in person. Don’t pay the overpriced family plan membership cost as you can bring your family to a much nicer local gym for a fraction of the cost.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. The pool, open gym, locker rooms, saunas, and class spaces are always clean. Friendly staff. Lots of classes throughout the week. And even though it’s almost always busy, it never seems crowded. Best gym in town: hands down.

If you want to get a good workout and not be judged and actually get what you want out of a gym I recommend here. The childcare is also superb and the pools are one of the cleanest ones I've ever seen in a gym. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: When I went to the YMCA for after school it as great. But, over the years the counselors became less tolerant and the only I liked there was my friends. My friend liked it there but then wanted to leave because of the counselors.

Negative experience: I called about the youth program to try to get my two children in about two weeks ago. I was told that all calls are filtered to one individual that handles this program. I did not hear back for a few days so I called again and was told the same thing. They took my message and said that they would try to have that person call me the same day. I did not get a call. I called again and asked to speak to somebody because the person in charge of the program was not returning phone calls. They said that she was not on vacation but is busy. I again left a message. After a couple more days I called back and that person was still unavailable. We found a different program for my children to get into but it would have been nice to at least get a call back to see if there was availability in this program and to obtain more information. It is very clear that the individual handling this program needs more assistance to run the program efficiently. Enrollment begins with phone calls. If you cannot answer calls, how can you continue enrollment?

Fantastic experience: I like the facility first and foremost. The pool is very clean and the atmosphere is friendly. The Swim Classes work well with our schedule, the classes are small and manageable allowing the student to get the attention he/she needs to learn. The Swim Instructors are great! They are knowledgeable, and attentive.

Fantastic experience: So many programs and activities offered at very reasonable price. Staff is always so nice no matter where you are (I've dealt with child care, gymnastics program, the gym, and front desk staff). The location is always kept clean and organized.

Fantastic experience: There is a diverse set of activities and classes for all ages. We love Body Pump and physical training with Tara. The free weights room is excellent. My 2 year old loves the beginners swimming program. The cleaning people are always working hard and it shows. Lastly, fellow members are courteous and friendly, which can really brighten your day. As you can see, becoming members of the YMCA has far exceeded my family’s expectations!

The Y really caters to families as well with activities and programs for the little ones. Child care watch amazing for parents who want to work out but don’t have anyone who can watch their kids!

Fantastic experience: My kids (ages 7 & 9) love the Adventure Room, the climbing wall, and the zero-depth pool! I love that I can get some much-needed me time and still ensure my kids are cared for. I only wish we had become members sooner!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym with friendly staff - the facilities are kept very clean with a wide variety of equipment. The only downside to this gym is that it can get very busy from time to time, specifically when college / high school are out for break.

Fantastic experience: This is our relief place during snowy winters . Warm and wonderful people, good facility for keeping our self fit. The walking trial, the gym, basket ball court , swimming pool for both kids and adults,makes it so perfect for family, the child watch is so nicely maintained that we can do exercise with free mind , without worrying about kids. Open till 10 every day, so added advantage. The little ones also enjoy equally at this place.

Fantastic experience: This facility is probably the best around the Buffalo area. You have a big parking lot to begin with and enjoy the size of the facility straight away. The front office staff could be confusing at times but it will he a good experience at the end. Make use of the family membership and it will be a big save for the entire family.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful swim lesson experience at the YMCA. No $35 registration fee like Michael Phelps Swim School. Class was taught by an expert who engaged all the children and taught them through songs and activities. My very tentative daughter made great strides in 8 weeks. Water is warm. Zero depth entry is perfect for toddlers. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy having child watch and Alaskan adventure room where the children will be watched while parent works out. I love the different sports that are offered throughout the year, especially basketball which my son enjoys to participate in. He enjoys being a part of the team, making new friends and improving in the sport he enjoys. We also love the family movies shown at the YMCA. Overall we have great experiences going there!

The Zero Depth Entry pool has helped our child get comfortable in the water and develop his skills outside lessons.The adult fitness equipment is plentiful and high quality. The staff are attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Positive experience: This is where the why is and tecro by ECC North I went to go to join but it seemed like there wasn't a lot of people coming in and out so I'm waiting till Saturday to join but I heard I've been there and sitting down they got free Wi-Fi they have there always a bake sale to the copy and waiting on someone this is a why to join they also once you join the Y you can use their Community rooms for birthday parties or whatever there's also a buffalo spot Buffalo chiropractor in there and they're open to 8 in the morning to 8 at night if you got to see a chiropractor.
