Negative experience: This gym is a classic 24/7 YMCA style gym. Equipment 4/5 Cleanliness 3/5 Staff 3/5 Clientele 2/5 Ease of access 4/5 The gym equipment is as follows: 1 squat rack 2 Conventional Benches (1 Adjustable) 1 inclined Bench 1 leg press 1 hack squat 1 t row 2 functional trainers/cable machines Multitude of machines for various isolation exercises . Multitude of cardio equipment. 25 meter pool with 3 lanes. Hot tub Sauna dry/wet Men’s locker room is typically dirty with left over clothes or discarded paper towels generously applied on the floor and storage locations. Bathrooms are clean typically and the locker room smells generally humid and of male BO. Typical stuff for this size gym. Staff is typically disinterested in being helpful. Generally younger crowds 18-21 work the desk in the afternoons or summers. Staff typically will not mitigate or arbitrate disputes between clients or with policy. Clientele is 30s in the early morning, older generally retirement age in the mid day, and younger crowds in the afternoons. Teenagers are generally left to their own devices. Older clients cause the greatest issues, since I started working out here in April I have been accosted or confronted me on 3 occasions about gym equipment use, this seems to happen in the 8am-12pm time frame. Early morning recommended. Gym is conveniently located in the from of diamondhead, however new road work has made access more difficult than previously. Would not recommend this gym if you are not early morning crowd or elderly.

Fantastic experience: Having 24 hour access is great for me because my work schedule is never the same. An extremely clean gym and plenty of weights and machines to use.

Positive experience: I’ve been a member for almost two years. Positives are management is very friendly and keeps the place clean and appears to really care about the business. Fair price with a no contract option (month to month). Tons of equipment- free weights and machines for Circuit training. They have a separate workout room for ladies if they don’t want to workout in the main area. And offer classes like spinning and yoga Large pool for laps and classes. It’s an older facility, so it’s got a little wear and tear. I’m sure there are gyms with newer equipment and such but I think a good gym is the overall package - people, facilities, equipment, etc. Some of the treadmills and elliptical type equipment have seen their better days - but usually can find one that all the bells and whistles (like heart rate monitor) is working. Overall, I would rate it as a five for the people and customer service and a four for the equipment, etc. I would recommend you check out Coast Family Fitness if thinking about a gym.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up.

Positive experience: The staff is nice and the facility is clean. They care about fitness and have blurbs about proper eating, hydration, etc around the gym. There are some broken machines and a little rust on some of the dumbbells but this gym is 10x better than the one in Bay St Louis on Johnson Street (edit : Bay Strength & Fitness). I don’t use the pool so I can’t comment on that.

Positive experience: Need to maintain machines better. Many of the elliptical machines rattle so much you have to hunt for a quiet one.

Negative experience: Very disappointing. Shows signs of age, poor management, and on verge of going out of busines. Dirty, poor layout of facility, constant tun-over of employees. No way of identifying employees. When questioning of employees about equipment, etc., they seem disinterested or act as though you are bothering them. Location is the only positive going for this gymn. I gave the gymn plenty of time for evaluation (5 months) Time to move up to a gym that cares.

Fantastic experience: I go there for weekly pool therapy, everyone is courteous, friendly, and professional. Everything is clean, neat, and functional ( even though I am not a member - yet! - and I don't use the equipment, I see others using, or staff cleaning, etc., so, . . . ), with tv monitors, information boards at counter entrance detailing prices, options, and so on, with several coolers with a variety of drinks, from water on up. And I see signs saying they are open 24/7, so, there's that as well!!

Fantastic experience: Love Gail's swim aerobics class! Her routine is a great workout and fun, and being in the water allows me to work out with very little back orhip pain. The people in the class are wonderful. The pool is clean, and the water is not too warm after the workout. I thoroughly enjoy every single thing about going!

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! The people and the atmosphere make this gym great along with the staff. The facility is very clean and you’ll be hard pressed to find nicer people. The classes and trainers are great and very knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful fitness instructor. She shows several ways one can perform the exercise. We go in the mornings. After one can go swimming in their in door pool, use the jacuzzi, steam room, or sauna.

Negative experience: Was told one thing up front. Had my services changed after my money was paid. Same thing happened to the 6 people i took with me. Most of the staff is okay but one lady is really rude and unwelcoming. Will never go back
