There are a variety of recreation and fitness options available at Fort Belvoir. The modern fitness centers offer a pleasant atmosphere that will help you stay motivated with your personal gym workout program.

Fort Belvoir has a variety of recreation and fitness options to choose from, including modern fitness centers, tennis courts, softball fields, and two paved running tracks.

You can use a fitness facility 24 hours a day or during select business hours by registering your Mil/DoD CAC card or MWR card. You must register your card every year on the anniversary of your registration date. If you get a new card, you must register it again.

You must be 18 or older to use the facility, and you must be an active duty military member, AD family member, DoD civilian, or retiree, or a family member thereof.

Wells Field House is the home of the Fort Belvoir Sports & Fitness Aerobics Program, which is designed to improve overall physical fitness. The facility offers 2 volleyball courts, 3 full length basketball courts, and aerobics classes Monday through Friday. Additionally, volleyball and basketball pick-up games are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The primary use for the DFMWR obstacle course is for active duty military personnel in units/squads or tenant organizations with more than three personnel from the MDW/NCR. The course can also be used by the following people:

The obstacle course will only be open if the Graves Fitness Center staff deem the weather and light conditions to be safe.

The group representative will be responsible for cleaning the area and putting obstacles back in their places at the end of the exercise. A Graves Fitness staff member will be on site to check the area and give the group representative the okay to leave.

You must wear appropriate athletic clothing when you come to the facility. This means no jeans, dress pants, cut offs, or exposed sports bras. You can refer to the proper attire poster in the facility for more information. You must also wear shirts and closed-toe shoes at all times, and you are not allowed to climb any obstacles barefoot.

You assume all risks when using the obstacle course, including but not limited to physical injuries, equipment failures, falls, impact with obstacles, rope burns, and other equipment-related injuries such as cuts and bruises. All adults (18 years and older) must sign a waiver before using the structures. Waivers will be kept on file for future use. There must always be a minimum of three people on site for safety reasons, with at least one acting as a spotter.

Functional Training will meet for in-person sessions during six (6) weeks. Each session lasts one (1) hour and includes a warm-up, workout, cool down, and MWR announcements.

The All-Army Sports Program is open to Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Soldiers who have completed Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Individual Entry Training (ECT)/Officer Candidates School. National Guard and Reservists who are selected are placed on active duty for the duration of the sport trial camp and follow on competitions. Athlete applications are accepted 90 days and coaches applications are accepted 60 days prior to sport season. Applications are submitted online.

The G9 integrates and delivers programs and services that enable readiness and resilience for a globally-responsive Army.
