Crunch Fitness - Garden Grove

Fantastic experience: I met with Joshua Martinez for a Crunch KickOff training. It was amazing, first off, he was extremely helpful and funny, he made the whole experience that can tend to be awkward extremely comfortable. I actually had a lot of fun. We did a body scan which tells me my muscle mass, BMI, and body fat percentage then discussed what it all meant(since it’s all new to me). Then he asked what my priorities are, and he made a workout for me on the spot and pushed me harder than I have pushed myself before. It felt amazing to do it, I 100% recommend this to everyone who wants to work on themselves. It’s a great gym, he is a great trainer, and I am going to keep going back. Thank you Crunch and thank you Joshua

Fantastic experience: Crunch Fitness in Anaheim (off Katella & Brookhurst) deserves five stars! Sarah is absolutely outstanding — she goes above and beyond to make every member feel genuinely welcome. She greets everyone with kindness, takes time to talk, and always offers help with a smile. The rest of the staff are great too, but Sarah in the mornings really sets the tone for a positive start to the day!

Fantastic experience: Josh is an excellent trainer! He clearly knows what he’s doing and explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand. He takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with each exercise, which makes the whole experience enjoyable and motivating. He’s professional, supportive, and really creates a positive training environment. I highly recommend Josh to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and encouraging personal trainer.

Fantastic experience: I met up with Joshua M. For a consultation on training sessions. He’s welcoming and helpful, guided me through about the plans that they had available adjust to your liking or lifestyle. It included a explanation of a body scan, a written report of physical changes and 25 min work out (depending which training selected is shorter or longer) I’ve had satisfactory experiences with two different trainers before a while back, this is my third time!

Negative experience: worst crunch location , the female employees act as if your trying to hit on them or something they give off so much attitude , this isn’t a dating app where you pick and choose who you want to speak too. I pay money for a membership. not to be given attitude by a bunch of untrained employees who treat the customers based off how there day is going . one employee was able to help me with a my problem didn’t get his name but he had blonde ish hair his customer service was the only positive thing I saw at this gym.

Negative experience: Cool gym to get a workout in but the sauna is so dirty and disgusting!! they only clean it once a week. this is the THRID time I’ve gotten SICK from this gym. why not hire a person to clean after hours as well instead of just when people workout. they also took out the cycle room.. for “storage” like cmon now I’m not gonna be paying this much for a dirty contaminated gym! if you want to get sick from using the dirty equipment then sign up to crunch.

Negative experience: horrible gym , the front desk people have no manners , the girl is just talking nonsense or flirting with the guys instead of attending me was intrested in a gym membership but a female who said he name was virgina ruined it thanks alot for the warm welcome crunch fitness

Negative experience: It’s a good gym overall. However, be vigilant on the staff trying to upsell you on “personal training” classes. They have this thing where they offer a free 1 hour kickoff event with a personal trainer, where they go over body composition, general fitness goals, and all that stuff. But really, this is just a vehicle to upsell members later on for personal training. The 1 hour kickoff event is actually pretty good. The problem is the staff is very (and I mean very) pushy, and they have no problem putting members in an uncomfortable spot in order to secure a contract. Even if said members are already on a budget. All of this wouldn’t be so bad, if it weren’t for the fact that these “sessions” are simply just not the value that they charge for. 25 minutes of training for $47 or 1 hour of training for $94 per session, with no feedback on proper form, nutrition, or even why certain exercises would be beneficial for certain fitness goals. It is more beneficial to watch YouTube shorts and get free advice on proper form and nutrition than it is to pay for sessions at Crunch Fitness. Don’t fall for the trap. It is only a way to get more money out of members on top of what the monthly membership already is.

Fantastic experience: Came in for a 1 hour session with trainer Josh Martinez, he was super chill, very nice guy. We did a body scan and I was given an analysis of where my body’s at, fat %, BMI, etc… We did some exercises and he showed me a few plans and provided some options that Crunch offers for their workout programs. Overall great experience with a great trainer!

Fantastic experience: Very clean gym with more equipment than other Crunch gyms in the area. Has deadlift platforms and separate squat racks. Personal trainers are really cool and super knowledgeable whether you're just starting out or looking to upgrade your current workout.

Fantastic experience: I just signed up for Crunch and Tracey at the front was super friendly - made it easy and answered all the questions I had along the way! After I got signed up for a personal training session with Josh and he made the session easy to understand and comfortable! He helped establish goals in what I wanted to achieve for myself. He also didn’t hold back in pushing me to my limits during the workout portion of our session. It was great and would highly recommend checking out this gym!

Negative experience: Does not open at 5:00 AM. Line outside.

Positive experience: decent gym, no pool or jacuzzi. just started

Positive experience: Been going to this gym for a while now and it’s been fine till recently. Was just trying to dead hang to the side where no one was at, cones were not blocking off either, when a staff came up and told me the area was off limits mid hang. What’s the point of paying the higher prices when the time you do go to the gym most of the area you are paying for is blocked off. Would not recommend peak plus as the price isn’t justified unless you go before people get off work. Tried to ask the guy why I can’t I just stretch for 2 mins max when no one was remotely in proximity or using that area but he just walked away after telling me to get off. Ending my peak plus, but the other staff especially reception are nice.

Positive experience: I would’ve given 5 stars, but the cardio stair master machines have been OUT OF ORDER for far too long. 6/12 machines are always out of order. Otherwise, excellent gym, good crowd. Weights seem to be re racked pretty decently as well, which is a problem at most other gyms.

Negative experience: I have OnePass through United Healthcare and let the receptionist know that I wanted to set up my membership. She said it doesn't work as monthly and only as a day pass, so I was confused. I called another Crunch and they said they take OnePass and would set me up no problem. So if you have OnePass and want to set it up, go to another Crunch location as the people here don't know what they're talking about.

Negative experience: Water fill up stations have not been working for almost a month. Whenever I call and ask; I’m always told they are working.

Positive experience: I got stuck in Westminster between 10 am and 1 pm because of court and stopped by here for a quick, non sweaty work out. They had more weight machines than what I've seen at other locations and little set aside areas for premium members, also something i haven't seen before. I thought the music was better than usual, it was an old ice cube album.

Negative experience: Leaky roofs. Broken everything. Doesn’t open when it says it does. Gone downhill so much.

Negative experience: Parking lot not safe... 40 min in the gym = car window smashed and vehicle burglarized by 2 " girls" in a blk vw ... anyinfo that leads to an arrest will be rewarded

Negative experience: I used to really enjoy going to this Crunch because the staff were the best and the workout area used to be really clean. But, I think there has been a change in staff as of recently and everything has gone down hill. I will be cancelling my membership as soon as possible since the owner of the place doesn't seem to even care about it.

Fantastic experience: Hi I wanted to say that I only go to crunch Garden Grove because of the fabulous Zumba instructor Marta!! She has so much energy and makes the class extremely fun! I follow her to HB and FV just to attend her Zumba classes although the drive is far. Hope GG will allow her to have more classes! She knows how to make the class super fun!!!

Negative experience: Associates are not too friendly or helpful. I was standing a couple mins and neither guy acknowledged me or told me they will be with me right away. This was Sunday 10/08 late afternoon. Sauna is extremely hot, to a temperature where you can’t stand or breathe.The Sauna temperature needs to be fixed it will become a health issue if extremely hot. I have been to other locations and the sauna is better adjusted.

Fantastic experience: I want to share about my experience at Crunch fitness. I love Zumba, but I love it more than ever because of Marta the best Zumba instructor there is. She is so passionate about dancing with all of us, she really engages with all of us students and makes everyone feel included. You don’t have to be a good dancer to take her class because her dances are easy to learn but you are guaranteed to have so much fun while burning calories. Marta makes fitness fun! Going to her classes is the highlight of my week. She has such a great variety of dances and great music. If you take her classes you will be hooked on going all the time!

Negative experience: This used to be my favorite gym until today. I'm canceling my membership! I'm not going to have my palm scanned and recorded by Amazon and your company. This is an invasion of privacy and no security for my personal information. Data breaches are happening with so many companies and you bozos think your technology is immune to that??? Scanning by phone was working just fine before, and now you want my information handed to Amazon One? This update is in response to Steve C., owner of this location. The answer sarcastically given to me by your front desk guy was there was no other way to get in because the scanners were taken out. After I complained further he asked for my phone number and let me in. He then asked me why I was blaming him about this new option to enter. I told him that I wasn’t complaining personally about him but rather to this whole new invasive policy. Here’s a tip, when a customer makes a complaint it’s not about you. You represent your company at the front line and should know how to properly and courteously respond to any complaints. That’s another thing I noticed with the front desk people this year. They’re not as nice and friendly as before. Gold’s Gym has a much more cheerful and professional staff than here. I may reconsider if I don’t have to use my palm print to get in. Train your staff to explain other options of getting in. That sad excuse about scanners being taken away is downright laughable.

Positive experience: The gym staff is great and friendly, I just suggest that you don't play any music or artists that sing the N. Word, over and over.

Mario did great job with startup session . he gave me one hour mentoring session. he did detailed analysis of my goals and what I am planning to achieve with workouts he was very professional and detail-oriented. I recommend crunch garden grove... give it a try they will make u feel awesome with all fun workouts!! very nice gym with top notch equipments and experienced trainers!

Positive experience: Decent for the amount of equipment. It is however not the cleanest of gyms and they don’t have towel service.

Negative experience: I have never in my life been to this place or website.. They had me signed up under someone else's card info and refused to erase my information.. THIS IS ILLEGAL and the manager is trying to enforce a balance that is NOT mine. I will be contacting an attorney to follow up how to remove my information from their system since I did not provide it. To the owner who replied Steve I appreciate you following up however I don't know how to contact you and the general manager at the location said he was the owner and gave me a 562 phone number and arrogantly said call him anytime. This is very disappointing to be treated this way so angry is an understatement for some I did not create. Apologies I did not attach the account number that they claim to be me. It is ACCOUNT #: 602026082 You GM refused to do anything claiming this was done online. It would be illegal for me to enroll online with someone else being financially responsible. I never approved of anyone representing me in any form. I am not taking advantage of anyone or anything and just wanted to be treated right. This has been a big waste of my time from phone calls to traveling to the place of business.

Fantastic experience: I have been at crunch for over a year and the staff has always been friendly and willing to help with everything. I recently got a flat tire and JP went out of his way with no hesitation to assist me with my car tire. I appreciate his help and positive attitude #givethismanaraise

Fantastic experience: Overall good gym this location is the biggest here in California. Plenty of equipment and friendly staff. I signed our son who is going to the marines so he will have a membership for a short time only. Sign up was super easy and fast.

Positive experience: New to the area and im within 10 minutes of this location but i still drive to lakewood bc this gym closes earlier, 10pm latest only weekdays, not including friday. The reason i joined crunch years ago was bc they were also 24hrs and they came close to the size of 24hr fitness gyms.

Fantastic experience: Lots of squat racks and deadlift platforms. The most I have seen at any gym. The location is a bit dated though

Positive experience: It's a gym lol. I will say cleanliness isn't a priority to the employees. When I signed up I asked about cleaning and sanitizing equipment. They stated they clean and sanitize the equipment but also rely on the members to sanitize and keep the gym clean.... Of course we should be wiping equipment down before and after use however, cleaning the gym is not my responsibility. I have used the same elliptical for 2 weeks and no one has yet to remove the gym wrapper and tissue from inside the cup holder. I purposely used the same machine to see if they in fact clean, 2 weeks later, it's clear they don't. Other than the cleaning problem, I have no complaints really.

Negative experience: Pretty chill place to work out. Front desk staff aren't too friendly like other gyms like Golds I go to in the area. Some are nice but someone name Dat always seems mad and only nice to people he knows. But aside from chill place and equipment is good.

Fantastic experience: This is the first gym I've had a membership with ever! They have all the equipment you could need and the place is kept in good shape. It's not common to see machines down for more than a day if at all. Staff is friendly and helpful and I like the variety of options from classes to personal training, ergonomic machines to free weights. This gym made transitioning from a home gym easy!

Fantastic experience: I usually don’t go out of my way to post a review on any establishment. This will be the exemption due to the amount of respect I have for these two gentlemen. I want to give a quick shout-out to Chris and JP! These two guys are the most down to earth, hard working, and kind people I’ve ever met at any gym. I thought coming from the FV gym to this location was going to be a hard transition. It turns out it wasn’t because JP transferred over here too, so it made me feel like I never left. JP does an amazing job making sure that all the equipment at the gym is up and running. Sometimes they even call him to help out at different locations! There’s never a time when I see JP not busy. This man moves! On the other hand I see Chris every day taking care of members, welcoming everybody, cleaning up after members, running around the club to ensure everything is up to code. Chris is so professional! These two individuals go above and beyond to ensure this club runs to the highest possible standards. I may be missing out on a few other staff in here. I just hope Crunch Fitness notices the amazing staff they have at their disposal…..don’t take them for granted. This is why we keep coming back! Thank you guys!

Negative experience: Never followed covid protocols. They opened throughout covid pandemic and never really shutdown. Parking is a pain here and it's very very crowded. Unlike other gyms, it is almost all younger clients. Don't go during peak times

Negative experience: Don't pay attention to the business counter that they have here on Google. That only applies to the cardio machines. If you're planning on working with weights or a weighted machine, good luck! Douchebags will hang out your entire workout at 1 machine monopolizing them. It is always busy in the weight area. Also everything is filthy with dust bunnies the size of real ones. Today is my last day at this gym for all these reasons.My advice is to go elsewhere to workout.

Negative experience: I am from Tampa, FL and my experience was very bad. In Tampa to crunch fitness is one of the best gym in the city but with this one I was disappointed with the cleanliness. Everything is pretty old and dirty. If i go to Sauna, it was like never mopped and so dirty. I love crunch fitness but not this one.

Positive experience: This gym almost had all of it. Friendly trainers, lots of squat racks and probably one of biggest crunch I’ve been to. The one downside that keeps standing out is this dude at the front. The whole “no judgement” is not reflected from this guy. I don’t mind if it’s just the other gym goers, but you work here…It feels too clicky or he’s just straight sexist. 9/10 times I walk in he walks to the opposite counter to “busy” himself. Yet when it’s his buddies or girls all the suddenly he had free time. How are you an ASM, yet can’t hold company standards. I ain’t never heard a have a good day of workout from this dude. It’s disappointing since I used to love and looked forward to working out this location. I miss the front desk guys at fountain valley, they exemplify what it means to be judgement free. Shout out to sean tho, mans always have a friendly welcoming energy despite my rbf.

Positive experience: Me and my friend got here for 1 day pass. Around 5pm Friday afternoon is packed. Sam is very professional god job! My friend is competing the next day so he has to do quick pump and sauna . This is perfect location! Thank you !

Positive experience: I'm writing this review as a current LA Fitness member and occasional guest of this location (thanks to a friend's membership with guest privileges). Like a few of the other Crunch gyms I have been to, there is a lot less wait for cardio equipment and weight lifting equipment such as bench presses compared to a LA Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness. This is because they typically have more of everything. I think I counted 6 bench presses! This particular location also has a dedicated area with MANY deadlift and squat rack platforms complete with bumper plates among other equipment. You do have to pay extra for the usage of this area though. If weight training is a priority for you like it is for me, then this is definitely the gym for you. You do have to go without a swimming pool and basketball court since this particular Crunch (and maybe all of them) does not have either of these. The staff was generally friendly and never pushy in getting me to sign up. Though once I gave them my info, I started to get constant texts and email regarding signing up. The restrooms and lockers are probably the biggest sore spot of the entire gym. While the rest of the gym looks modern and feels clean, the restroom areas look a bit old and have a funky smell. Paper towels aren't offered either, only automatic hand dryers.

Fantastic experience: I love how big this gym is! Front desk staff are always welcoming! The Welcome & goodbye/have a good day is the cherry on top!! Update: Continues to be my favorite crunch gym! The set up, availability of machines, cleanliness is on point!

Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. It feels safe and sanitary and I would constantly see workers wiping down machinery. All the employees are also very attentive, and I’ve also talked to manager Chris before, and he was so nice and helpful. Give this place a try, its worth it!

Fantastic experience: One of my favorite gyms that I’ve been to. Staff works well to ensure equipment is operating properly and there’s a lot of real estate to do your workout in a timely manner. A lot of really friendly people around too.

Fantastic experience: 8 racks or so and 9 Deadlift platforms. Open until 11pm and 7pm on weekends, love that it's extended hours now. Love lifting because there's always plenty of barbells and racks/platforms

Positive experience: I love having this crunch near me! The staff are always super friendly and the classes are fun. Only downside is how busy it can get at high times, when it gets busy the gym fills up fast and parking becomes a mess.

Fantastic experience: I switched to this gym when my other gym folded. I wanted to join the new Planet Fitness closer to my work, but a Planet Fitness worker told me to check out Crunch Garden Grove. I did, and I joined immediately. I enjoyed the great team. Professional and helpful even at 5:00AM. I also enjoyed the great selection of equipment and the openness of the facility. The locker room was clean and maintained, so I was very happy working out there. My workplace shut down, so I had to move out of the area. I was amazed to find that even terminating my membership was done professionally and with urgency. This is a top-of-the line team.

He helped my cousin sign up and explained everything perfectly. Got my cousin exactly what they were looking for to sign up. But I commend the whole Crunch GG team!

Fantastic experience: This is the largest Crunch I've been to. They have around 50 treadmills, two turf mats, dry sauna, hydro massage, tanning booths, and a extra large area with machines and free weights. A fun place to work out with no judgements.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! The staff is always friendly and you can tell they actually care about fitness. The patrons also keep the gym looking clean at all times by following gym ettique and wearing masks. So bummed they closed again. I was also going to 24 in Los Al (for convenience). Comparing both, Crunch is WAY better and worth the extra 15 min drive! Cleaner, bigger, heavy bags, nicer equipment, turf....Can't wait to go back! Update: I had to leave this gym and go back to 24 because of the hours only and let's just say, Crunch set the bar so high, there is really no way to compete. Shout out to all the Crunch staff for making my experience everyday a great one! Chris, Tony, Kevin and Jackie are the few I know. See ya soon once your regular hours are back!
