Fantastic experience: Overall this place feels like home, it's comfortable, they have all the equipment you need, and it's very clean! Matthew has been assisting me through my personal training, he is very knowledgeable and knows how to keep you motivated and push you out of your comfort zone. I have lost 70lbs in 8 months and gained mobility in my ankle again after breaking it! I highly recommend the merle hay location to everyone

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to 3 Genesis health clubs so far and this club is head and shoulders above the rest. First off it’s clean, like sparking cleaning, the guy cleaning the bathroom cares about his work and it shows. Not sure when it was last update, but it looks and feels much new compared to the Hickman and West Des Moines clubs. It also has a friendlier vibe which is contagious. Each club has a unique feature, this club has lots of space, it’s well organized, everything is on 1 level, absolutely love how large the sauna is and how hot it gets. It’s 10 minutes out of the way for me, but it’s worth the extra drive in my eyes. I want to give a shout out to the managers & staff who clean and keep the place organized, they combined have kept this facility functioning at an elite level.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a clean gym with friendly staff I’d definitely recommend this one (Merle Hay). Jessie and the rest of the staff were friendly and hooked it up with a few day passes. The gym has good equipment and a dope atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Genesis Health Club is an excellent gym. This gym has everything you need, and the customer service is great. Free sauna, free tanning, and free towel service included. Jesse will help you with whatever you need and help you start your fitness journey. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to the Genesis on Merle Hay Rd for about a year now. Jesse, heather and Grant have always been on top of everything when I come in. Always feeling welcomed and accepted in the gym when they are all there. Ever since Jesse has begun working at the location there seems to be a very positive excited vibe at the gym. I am excited to see where the gym goes in the future!

Fantastic experience: Merle Hay Genesis is the place to be to get the best pump in. As a lifter they have everything I could ever need! What’s even better is they have great people working here. Jesse, Grant and Heather really are the faces of Merle Hay and they do an amazing job of making you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. I have no desire to train anywhere else! :)

Brooklyn Hankins is by far, the most energetic, competent and positive natured fitness advisors i have had the pleasure of meeting. I've belonged to many gyms in the past (52 years old) She gracefully took her time to explain all of the ins and outs of what Genesis has to offer. If I was in leadership position within your fitness center, I would see to it that her dedication to duty is rewarded accordingly. 10 stars I say..10.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. The equipment is well taken care of. The place is very very clean. My personal trainer Grant Peterson is awesome. He totally understands that some days I cannot be pushed harder and other days we joke around and I reach new milestones with the weights. This gym has become my safe place over the past two years. Everyone says hi and has a smile for me, the trainers, the staff the other patrons. It's all great. I cannot imagine going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I worked out here for almost 2 1/2 years now and my favorite part about it is the front desk lady’s smile and conversations! Heather is her name if I’m right. Delores the cleaning lady is a beautiful soul! Last but not least Brooklyn is probably the most coolest,professional,and probably the best asset genesis have. I look forward everyday too see them!

Fantastic experience: I would give this Genesis Health Club over 5 stars if I could. I was looking for a gym that had knowledge and expertise as I was looking to lose weight, add some muscle, and just be overall make better lifestyle choices. When I met Brooklyn, I was sold. I asked her questions about my personal goals and was very impressed with her knowledge on nutrition and exercise. While we were sitting down and I had already signed on the dotted line and given her my credit card, she went above and beyond and walked me over to machines I had never seen in a gym before and demonstrated how they work and why I wanted to use them. She then said, "You try". She corrected my technique and gave me some more pointers that I can use for my workout. Her friendliness and level of professionalism is something that in my personal experience is very rare to find in a mid-size to large health club with so many moving parts. If this is what you can expect from Genesis Health Clubs on Merle Hay, you should not hesitate to start or re-start your fitness journey. Ask for Brooklyn if you haven't met her yet! I'm excited for fitness again,

Fantastic experience: Good stuff. Intense vibes at Merle hay. Mills civic is more so a family vibe and there are a lot more kids. Would not recommend Hickman at all. Very dingy and outdated. I did a lot of looking when I first got my membership and chose genesis based on the fact that they had multiple locations and a lot of squat racks at the Merle Hay location. Even at 5 PM you shouldn’t have a problem getting a squat rack at Merle hay. Mill Civic and Hickman would be another story. The sauna is also a lot nicer at Merle Hay. If you have gym anxiety though at Merle Hay you’ll be in a lot closer proximity to others. My friend who has gym anxiety prefers Mill Civic because there’s a lot more room to spread out. Pricing is a little spendy, but they run a lot of promotions so I would definitely recommend waiting for those. You have to pay a yearly fee that will lock in whatever rate you end up with. Even though I signed up when there was no sign-up fee I still had to pay a fee that was equivalent to a sign-up fee. There is no cancellation fees and other than the yearly fee I believe that’s it.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of this location for over three years now. I’ve been to all Iowa and Omaha locations and I always prefer this specific location over all. The reason being the extremely friendly and inviting environment we have here and we absolutely owe that to Brooklyn Hankins. I remember the day she started working for Genesis Merle Hay, everybody’s attitude improved, staff and members. There was a time where I injured myself pretty bad during my workout and Brooklyn jumped in to help me recover immediately without hesitation or even without me asking for help. Brooklyn, as you know is a team player that most employers would kill to have. She’s done so much for this location that she absolutely deserves every opportunity for growth. Everyone who has ever been to this location knows it’s one of the best and I truly believe we have Brooklyn to thank for that!

Fantastic experience: Aaron is an efficient, personable club manager. His employees appear to respect and follow his instructions. Heather is a wonderful front desk receptionist; very friendly and helpful. Brooklyn provides colorful entertainment as a body-builder who changes her appearance (hair-cuts, make-up) weekly. I often look forward to seeing her latest look. She's also very friendly and accommodating. The club is always clean and fresh, thanks much to Delores, a Mexican cleaning lady. Very friendly; we speak often. I've often told her (and staff) she's one of the hardest working individuals I've ever seen.

Fantastic experience: Brooklyn Hankins made the decision to join easy. She was professional but also made the experience enjoyable and fun. Talking in a gym is my pet peeve, but today, I was not peeved. She is an absolute asset to the gym. I look forward to learning more about her knowledge with not only the physical aspect of working out, but supplements and nutrition also. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym since it was Aspen. Since Genesis has taken over, the atmosphere has been amazing. The staff are very professional and good at communicating. Management is awesome, Matt is a great guy and is willing to drop everything to help his members. He treats us as we are his own friends. You can see it with-in the staff they like to help and encourage members. This is the place to workout, friendly atmosphere, good quality equipment. Overall a fun place to be.

I am self conscious about his stuff and from day one Jason has made me feel so comfortable. I love working with him. The rest of the staff is always friendly when I am in!!
