Fantastic experience: We have been here for about two years to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and could not be happier with our experience so far at Legacy! Marissa is an excellent host/front desk manager and always made a newbie feel welcome. All of the instructors we have seen have been great with the kids—firm were needed but at the right balance, kind, welcoming and encouraging as well. My boys' confidence and skills have been improved significantly.

Fantastic experience: I initially went in because their schedule was very convenient and accommodating. I was very surprised to see the owner in talking with everyone and he is clearly in there often and knows everyone by name. He led my drop in class and went in to the details of each move much more thoroughly than I have seen and expected. It's a further drive for me that someone others but worth the extra time on the road. I definitely would give it a look at.

Fantastic experience: Excellent club. I love the way the classes are structured — complex techniques are broken down into smaller, simple drills that build on each other, so by the end of the hour you’ve genuinely learned something new. There’s a strong focus on discipline, effort, and respect, which really stands out. I signed up both my daughters, and after watching a few classes, I loved it so much I joined too. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I first took Jiu-Jitsu just over sixteen years ago and wanted to get back into it. I was looking for a clean gym, with supportive Professor(s), and good partners to train with. Legacy fit all of those and more. Professor Ricardo was attentive, encouraging, and respectful. What I noticed from my trial class is that he was like this with all his students and not just me. This is what sold me on Legacy. I am looking forward to growing not only my jiu-jitsu skills but the sense of community that was also felt just from this first class.

Fantastic experience: This is not my home gym, but I have stopped in twice when I’ve come in town to visit family. Everyone I have met in the gym has been so friendly and welcoming! I did a nogi class with Adam and the women’s only class with Laura. Both were great with clear instruction and options based on body style or capability. They also have a great community of women who see to all train pretty regularly they even invited me to dinner with them after the class! All in all I would highly recommend Legacy to any one from first day beginner to colored belts across the board. They’ve got a flavor for everyone. Gym is also very clean and well kept and they have showers so that is always a win!

Fantastic experience: This gym has truly changed my life. I came here during some of the darkest moments I’ve ever experienced, and professor, coaches and teammates helped me climb out of that place. Through their guidance, support, and the discipline of training, I’ve learned that I’m capable of making real, positive changes in my life. Fantastic experience: Dropped in here this morning at 6am. I am a brown belt so usually going into other gyms kinda means a target on my head. And I didn’t feel that way at all. Everyone was super welcoming and there was no ego which means you have a great instructor setting the atmosphere ! Great instruction and I learned a lot today! The people I rolled with had great vibes with drives to learn and improve. I highly recommend people to try out this place if they are in the Allen area! Thank you guys for having me!

Fantastic experience: Highly Recommended – Dedicated Coaches & Professional Environment Legacy JiuJitsu in McKinney truly stands out. The coaches are fully dedicated to their craft. They focus on teaching and developing the kids without worrying about who (parent) is watching from the sidelines. There’s no showboating for parents; their focus goes into making sure each child learns, grows, and improves. Despite having a big crowd of kids, they manage it impressively. They bring in multiple coaches, ensuring every student gets noticed. They don’t let anyone slip through the cracks. If a child is dropping in technique or performance, they address it directly with the student in a constructive way. Their professionalism and attention to detail speak volumes. They have a friendly pricing compared to all other juijitsu and ither Martial arts schools I spoke with in the area. One major plus that really earned my respect is, they don’t pressure you to buy their uniform right away. I’ve experienced other martial arts schools where uniform sales seemed more important than training , and those schools eventually closed. Legacy JiuJitsu is different. They give you space to decide, which was a relief for me since I wasn’t sure at first if I would continue coming (it’s a bit of a long drive from my home). That respectful, no push approach mattered a lot. Teaching matter to them more than what kids wear. The school also has a nice outdoor waiting area for parents if the training room fills up. I am curious how that will work during the winter. The only “con” for me is the distance from home ( wish they were little closer to my place), but their quality and professionalism make it worth the drive. That’s why I choose to bring my child ‘every single day’ as my kid too likes to come here. If you are looking for serious training, real coaching, and a respectful environment without sales pressure, I highly recommend Legacy JiuJitsu.

Fantastic experience: Our son is only 3.5 yrs old. They have done such a great job with him getting so excited about class. My son loves it and they are so patient with him and all the kids given one day they are listening and behaving and the next refuse to follow direction. Just a really positive environment for younger kids while also building expectations of discipline as they progress. Will be starting his twin sister soon as well!

Diego ha sido un maestro genial super cercano y la experiencia aunque no tenemls mucha idea de inglés ha sido genial porque hablaba español!! Fantastic experience: My wife and I and all four of our boys started here about a month ago. Compared to other gyms we have been to this one is cleaner, much friendlier and full of knowledgeable teachers. The first thing we noticed when walking in was the warm welcome from all the staff.

Fantastic experience: Our son has been enrolled for a month. We have been impressed with the professionalism and attention each of the instructors displays each session. Our son has already learned so much. The office staff is great too - always available to answer my questions and even got a video of my son getting his first stripe on a day I couldn’t be there. It was a nice surprise and great having that first stripe on video. Highly recommend Legacy!

Fantastic experience: I came here with my family to try the kids class and the adults class. What a wonderful experience. I'm a former professional MMA fighter, an executive of ONE Championship and I own a Muay Thai and MMA gym in Bangkok Thailand. I have been around martial arts at a high level for a long time and I run a school that has international visitors every day. If you are looking for a place to train for yourself or for your child, this is a wonderful place to bring them. It is clean, and well maintained, they have put a lot of thought into making it a welcoming environment. They have books and games for the kids to play while a sibling or a parent is training. They have signs reminding everyone of the rules of cleanliness. The head instructor came and greeted us warmly, and he meant it. He was happy to see new people at the gym not as customers but as new members of a community. The kids class was very well run, the kids were very disciplined and the instructors knowledgable. The adults class was welcoming to new students like myself and other people who were doing BJJ for the first time that day. Coach Adam was leading the class and was friendly, personable and an obvious bad ass who knew his stuff about martial arts. If you are looking for a place to train martial arts or a place for your kids, check it out and see if you like it and compare it to other gyms in the area. I am confident you will find the right home here.

I signed up my 10 year old just a few months ago and his self esteem has improved as well as motivation to learn more and do better in class. He had no background or experience and was hesitant to start. Just a few months in, he volunteers and wants to learn more BJJ. This is exactly what I was looking for. The instructors are encouraging, engaging and make sure to recognize all levels of achievements. They are very good at what they do here. I am looking forward to seeing my son grow with Legacy BJJ.

Within seconds of one of the coaches walking to the front, an entire room of jittery, loud kids will transform into disciplined, respectful listeners, ready to learn. The classes are athletic and challenging, but adaptable to every student's level. And they don't hand out belts just for showing up - these belts and stripes are earned through hard work, so it means a great deal to all the students. I recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Our family has recently relocated from Las Vegas I searched the area for new Bjj gyms for my son who has been training for two years. Legacy stood out from all the others in our area and when we tried our free class we immediately knew this would be our new home. We came from a less organized/disciplined gym when it came to the littles, they were great in their own way. But we just knew we were looking for more when it came to our new gym. Legacy is the perfect fit for my son he is 100x better in class here at legacy he listens, pays attention, and actually tries, he has put in the most effort I’ve seen him do in the two previous years he’s trained. He looks forward to Bjj everyday and tries to be the best he can be in every class. He is definitely a social butterfly and loves to talk so class is helping him learn how to understand play time vs time to put in work. And to top it off I tried their ladies night and LOVED it! I’m looking forward to starting my Bjj journey soon too! So grateful for our new Bjj home, would recommend to everyone.

My two older sons have been rolling on those mats for over three years, and my youngest jumped into the fun six months ago—talk about a family affair! The gym is run like a well-oiled machine. The professors are top-notch. What really sets Legacy apart is the warm, family vibe. Whether it’s my boys learning new techniques or just soaking up the camaraderie, this place has become our second home. Five stars all the way!

Fantastic experience: We brought our son (4) here for a trial class and fell in love with the place right away. The facility is always super clean. The coaches (Coach Billy, Coach Roger, Coach Vince and Coach Matt) are very patient and kind to the kids but at the same time always communicate clearly and respectfully, and are actively engaged with the kids at all times. They are instilling discipline and a resilient mindset in kids. The manager, Marissa, is always on top on things and very attentive. She makes everybody feel welcome. My son goes almost every day and is always happy to be there, training and making new friends. We can tell he is making progress day by day and getting stronger with each training. We are grateful to have found Legacy on our first try, and look forward to the many years to come.

Fantastic experience: I decided to drop in for a class on Friday. Professor Billy and everyone training were super welcoming. The Prof ran a great class. Fast paced but with attention to detail. I would recommend it to anyone living near Allen or visiting.

The adults go and no class is exceptional. Professor Ricardo is a great teacher and very detailed in his technique. However, the kids classes are very big and the lack of no gi days is a factor for me but other than this, it’s Avery good gym with a great atmosphere.

The facility is clean and well cared for. I’ve worked with 3 Professors in my short time here and each one of them is knowledgeable. As a parent of young kids, having a variety of days & times to attend class is important and the schedule at Legacy is very accommodating. Fantastic experience: This is our third BJJ school and without a doubt it is the best. Professor Ricardo, Billy, Rojerio are incredible instructors. The kid's class is top notch with great balance of warmups, instructions, and sparing. My kid improved significantly within a short time and he made a lot of friends. Fantastic experience: First class today and what a joy, great gym culture. Everyone was there to learn and help each other get better. No big egos anywhere to be seen. Good mix of experience in the practitioners as well. Watched the kids class before the adult class and I have to say I was impressed. It's was clear that the level of jiu-jitsu on display by all ages was technically sound from attacks to technical correct defenses and excellent positional awareness. All the kids were smiling and having a great time as well. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, adult or looking for a child, this is a great gym.

Fantastic experience: I have started training the Legacy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the last few weeks. My experience so far is excellent: the place is very clean, everyone is super friendly and the instructors are very knowledgeable and respectful. Absolutely recommend the place for anyone.

The community here is welcoming and safe, making it a great place to learn and grow. The jiu-jitsu instruction is top-notch, with a strong emphasis on both technique and safety. The training partners are some of the best you'll find—supportive, skilled, and always pushing you to improve. If you're looking for a place to train, I can't recommend this gym enough!

Fantastic experience: Legacy BJJ has created an amazing atmosphere and culture for all levels of BJJ students. My son and I signed up together. Both with zero experience and it has been the best possible thing my wife and I could’ve decided on. The coaches are fantastic with the younger kids. Keeping them engaged and constantly learning from the ground up. I go 2 times a week and the growth I’ve seen has been amazing. Highly suggest this gym to any and all people!

Fantastic experience: I am in town for the week for work and wanted to find a place to train. I called and they welcomed me in and gave me directions. We did some technique and about 45 minutes of live training. Everyone at the gym was welcoming and had some great rounds and learned a lot too. Legacy is the place to train if you are in the area, I will be back.

Fantastic experience: I am an adult beginner, and Legacy BJJ is a really great gym. Professor Billy and Ricardo are great instructors and mentors. They are very mindful of beginners and walk alongside you making sure that you understand and practice what was taught in class. What is also an added plus is an intangible that I want to highlight, which is the culture and community at Legacy BJJ. Legacy BJJ is a family, and I’m really grateful for the patience and extra help I get from more advanced students. It really feels like we’re all supporting each other while also pushing each other to grow, and this really enhances the learning experience. I find myself having more confidence while remaining the posture of humility each time I walk in and out of my classes. I can tell that Professor Billy and Ricardo and the rest of the staff work hard to build that culture. This is what keeps me committed as an adult beginner, and I highly recommend Legacy BJJ for those who want to learn BJJ!

Fantastic experience: Whole family started training about 9 months ago and we love it. Very family friendly and also great instruction. It's also helped me drop 20 lbs as well as make some new friends. Would recommend anyone who's thought about it drop in and try it out no matter your fitness or skill level.

Fantastic experience: Legacy is an outstanding BJJ facility that I've frequented three times during work trips to town, and it consistently impresses me. Coach Adam and Professor Billy are exceptionally knowledgeable and always welcoming. The facility itself is impeccably clean and well-maintained, providing a great atmosphere for training. The community of practitioners are friendly and enjoyable to train with, devoid of any ego issues. My family and I are contemplating a move back to Texas from Georgia, and my positive experiences at Legacy have influenced our house-hunting process, prioritizing proximity to their facility. It doesn't get much better than that.

Fantastic experience: Clean mats, skilled practicioners, and a nice facility in a nice area. The people were welcoming and respectful, plenty of different levels of practitioners from white belt to black belt. I would recommend this gym to beginners and experienced grapplers.

Fantastic experience: This is an awesome Jiu Jitsu place that my 12 year old loves. Coaches are great in how they instruct and guide him. I so like it especially about the discipline and teaching about respect.. Family friendly..
