Fantastic experience: I wanted to leave a review for the Kickboxing/ Self Defense Classes instructed by Shawn Kocab. Shawn is one of the best MMA/Self Defense instructors in the area. He’s professional, humble, and with over 2 decades of experience in martial arts/self defense he is a master of his craft. What stood out to me about Shawn is that he knows how to work around injuries that would normally take someone out of the fight, and still be able to be combat effective. Both owners, Shawn and his wife Tracy are both people who are trying making a difference in their community.

Positive experience: I wish someone had written this in the reviews for me to know ahead of time: there’s no A/C or swamp cooler. I joined in winter but had to find a new place come May, as it was too hot for me at the times I could come in (afternoon).

Positive experience: It is a multi purpose gym and had most everything i was looking for. It has a lot of nice equipment and a lot of worn in equipment but either way it worked for me. Not necessarily a body building gym but a decent weight training gym. I like it

They also offer self defense classes great experience and Opportunity to learn new things. Let’s not forget it’s open 24/7, no excuses for a great workout at the best gym in town.

Fantastic experience: Legion iron looks intimidating when you first walk in however I have never felt more welcome in a gym. They offer a hiit boxing class in the evenings that are taught by some of the most kind and thoughtful and knowledgeable people. Josie is such a kind person taking such time to teach you when you don’t understand. The owner Shawn welcomes all levels and is passionate about teaching women how to defend themselves and Aaron will just kick your butt everytime. I always leave feeling accomplished and strong. The community of people that go to the class are so great! They have lots of different lifting machines and multiple squat racks and oly platforms too. 24/7 access. Would for sure recommend this gym to anyone of any fitness level.

Fantastic experience: Clean gym with an abundance of equipment in great shape. My high school powerlifting team practiced here last season, and this gym has a large space with plenty of room for multiple groups/people to train. Even had a few new pieces of equipment show up during our season that enhanced our training. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: Legion Iron is a cool powerlifting, boxing, MMA gym with a great atmosphere, afffordable rates, and easy access. Shawn, the owner, has put a lot of love and attention into creating a culture that is welcoming to men and women of all ages. Legion Iron has some equipment you won’t find in every gym like a pendulum squat and a belt squat. He’s equipping the outdoor area and hints of getting a seal row. Fingers crossed!

Fantastic experience: They have so much equipment, basically everything you need. As someone who trains in home gym exclusively, was a great to use machines I never get to use. I got a day pass and process was simple. Would definitely recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I've been coming here for years. The gym is different since Freddie took over, in a good way. There are a lot of fun people doing martial arts and lifting and talking about athletics and nutrition... no politics just community fun.

Fantastic experience: HIGHLY RECOMMEND its a great gym, clean equipment, clean single person bathrooms with CLEAN STOCKED SHOWERS!! And best part, great lighting in a photo room with a handy tripod. Sometimes busy but certain hours it's empty, with an outside workout area as well.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with 24/7 access. Has so many different versions and levels of training from bodybuilding to powerlifting to MMA classes. Owners are very responsive when you message them and are constantly improving the gym with new equipment and new spaces to work out in. Love the fact that they have windows and doors open to get sunlight in and an outdoor workout area that is in process of getting even better. Two of the bathrooms have showers, as well as a single shower room for a total of three. As a businessman who works out in the mornings, there are times where I need to be able to shower before I go to work and this gives me that option.

Fantastic experience: By far one of the greatest gym in Albuquerque, not only does it have an array of different equipment the people here are so nice from the patrons to the staff this gym is super close to base so If ur from out of town and need a close spot or ur a contractor for the military I would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: What a find! When I travel, I try to find gyms and Legion was such a hidden gem. Communication, gym amenities, and affordability were terrific and top tier. Initially, when headed over to the site to do research, the owners (husband and wife) had their numbers readily available to text - (and being a busy business owner myself) I found it so impressive that they were so responsive. Loved the various areas and options they had too — from free weights and squat stations to med balls, bands, jump rope to heavy bags and a climbing rope. So glad I stopped in!

Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I were in Albuquerque for a week for work and went to Legion Iron a couple of days to workout while we were in town. The environment was great and there was a nice variety of equipment to work with. We were given a very nice deal for the time we were there which was also greatly appreciated. Definitely would join if we end up staying in the area in future!

Fantastic experience: Great gym close to the Nob Hill / University / Downtown area. HUGE gym. Good equipment and a lot of it. I don't think there will be fighting over a squat rack here, there are plenty. Open 24 hours and code access. This place even has an octagon. Great place to get active and spread fitness. I also really like that you can see that the owner is putting money into it constantly. The pictures on Google are cool because when you go you can actually see just how much has been put into it. Cool place. Go join. Update: They have continued to better the gym. Adding equipment and moving stuff around to get that flow just right. Love this gym.

What put it over the top, the incredible Customer Service and the kindness of the staff. It had everything he needed. He was very pleased. We know which gym To go to when we return

Fantastic experience: I was in town with my Ammy Boxing Team for a national tournament. We reached out to Legion to see about using their gym to shake out and manage weight. Communication was easy and quick. The process to get everybody working was just as easy. I assume I was texting with Their GM or owner either way they were gracious, welcoming and accommodating. Great gym, has everything you need if you have a fight team. We will be back next time boxing brings us to Albuquerque!

Fantastic experience: I had my first work out here today and It was wonderful. I have worked in cooperate fitness and also have trained as a recreational athlete for years and this has been one of the most loveliest gym Facilites I have work out at. The vibe and the energy was so wonderful. The entire facility from bathrooms, to the floor area, to the back sections of the dumbbells was clean. I was able to to complete my entire workout routine top to bottom with no interruptions. I highly recommend coming here and trying out this awesome gym.

But when you walk through those doors it’s you are working to make yourself the best version of you. I was 167 lbs skinny and depressed. Now I’m healthy, I weigh 235 bounds of muscle and feel better than ever!!! This place is a true iron paradise you all should definitely check it out and join our family haha

Negative experience: Who ever owns this place obviously doesn’t care I’ve stayed here a couple months because I liked that it was 24 hours. It’s absolutely disgusting, I don’t believe it’s ever been clean restrooms are filthy and have stains in the shower and floors what is my $48 going to there’s no workers or improvements I was stuck on the sitting squat machine because it was old and broken super painful my friend had to rush to get the weights off! I called to cancel my membership and they just hung up!

Negative experience: This place was the most disorganized, unprofessional, and filthy business I have ever seen. Access to the gym is near impossible, the equipment is in horrible condition (for what’s even still functional), and is absolutely filthy. The bathrooms are repulsive, having questionable brown splatters on the wall near the toilets, mold and mildew, and hair on the toilets, sinks, walls, showers and floors. As for the gym itself, the same is true. There is hair, dust, trash and various debris on every surface. There was no music playing and no one available to ask about music or equipment. I waited outside for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get in and purchase a day pass. After multiple phone calls and messages, someone called me and told me how to get access and pay since no one was at the facility. Not worth your time or money.

Fantastic experience: I have always been nervous to start out at a new gym, but as soon as I walked in, I was welcomed. Everyone is there to improve themselves and help you improve yourself as well. The gym has everything you’d need to get any work out necessary completed. I really enjoy my workouts when I’m there and plan to continue to have many more.

I love the gym atmosphere and everyone is supportive! I have seen the most improvement at legion. If you have your doubts about it I encourage you try it out. Fantastic experience: This has been the best gym I’ve been to in Albuquerque by far! This gym attracts great people, great music, and huge support for the fitness industry. Coming to this gym has been a benefit for my fitness goals and I couldn’t do it without Legion Iron and the people there!

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym about a year ago when I was trying to lose weight. The owner was more than kind and very supportive. He has created an environment that makes his members feel like family. I could not recommend this gym more to anyone who is looking to make the most out of their fitness goals! Since I’ve joined, I’ve lost over 101lbs, had constant support from Garret and other members, and have made life long friends along the way. I refuse to go to another gym now.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Legion since it opened, and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! If you’re sick of high priced gyms and sick of waiting to use a squat rack then you should check Legion Iron out. Oh and they’re not gonna shame you for dropping the bar when deadlifting (cuz duh weights are heavy and they make a sound when dropping). One of the most important things, is it’s female friendly. As a female, I don’t feel gawked at when I work out there which is refreshing. Feel free to do some hip thrusts or whatever, and no one is going to look at you weird. All in all it’s a good, affordable gym for all levels. If you’re a beginner it’s a really great place to learn weightlifting/powerlifting because most people there do it and are willing to help!

Fantastic experience: I love this Gym.. I suffered a heart attack a few years ago and everybody was very supportive for me to get back into the lifting. Because of this gym I was able to bounce back and get stronger faily quickly. This gym is more than a gym because it provides a family and a support system. Everybody that comes in to this gym comes in to work, so if your not willing to put in the sweat, blood, and tears this Gym is not for you. In this gym we are all equal and we let the iron separate the boys from the men. This Gym is not for the weak minded..
