Negative experience: Update today 9/3 she kept watching me as I worked out on a machine outside of the room and just laughed when my daughter let it known we can see her watching me. For over a year almost two years we have been dealing with a few women from the morning. The class starts at 9 am and my daughters and I get there at 645 we leave by 8 am. A few women have harassed us because they want the spot we are using. They will setup inches around us between us. One lady had thrown a weight at me and today the other got in my face. These ladies will watch us and follow us. One was banned for 6 months and once she came back things just got bad this week keep in mind we have hardly gone. As soon as we go we have issues with them mad we are in the spot they want to setup in at 730 am for a 9am class. If you stay past 830 in that room all of the people in the class will just come setup where your at and have no consideration to let you finish. This is harassment already all over a spot that we asked just ask that they do not setup until 830 so people can use the room. We see so many peoples not able to use the room because these ladies have some weird territorial issue and can’t let anyone get tat spot. We have lots of videos of the harassing us, following us and watching us. Today I have her saying they harass us because that is their spot. They are used to being bullies and do not like we Are standing up. You can see in the picture how close they setup next to the chair I was using for incline pushups and how empty the room is. We constantly complain about these ladies and feel that management has not taken our complaints or safety seriously as I have told the this keeps escaping I am not sure what needs to happen for them to realize these ladies are harassing my daughters and I.

Negative experience: Great gym, but too many people. If you any kind of serious powerlifter or bodybuilder...just go somewhere else. Too many non serious people in here
Our Clubs can get very packed at times. I recommend talking to the Staff as they can help you determine each clubs peak hours.

Positive experience: I want to start by saying I’ve been a loyal member for years and truly love this gym. The environment is always welcoming, and the staff is generally friendly and professional, which is why I’m giving a 4-star rating overall. That said, I had an unfortunate experience today that I felt needed to be shared. I was working out in the training area before a scheduled class at 5:30 PM. In the past, the usual trainer has always been courteous, giving us a heads-up about the class starting—typically a 10-minute notice or at least allowing us to finish our set before asking us to clear the space. However, today the trainer (listed as Dena B.dark hair) entered the room and abruptly told everyone, “I need everyone to get out.” There was no prior warning or consideration, and the tone came off as unnecessarily rude, especially considering there was only one participant in her class and 4 people utilizing the room. To be clear, this was not the blonde woman who typically teaches this class—she’s always kind and respectful. I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that future transitions between open use and scheduled classes can be handled with a bit more courtesy. A small heads-up goes a long way in maintaining the positive experience we’ve come to expect at this gym. Thank you for your understanding.

Fantastic experience: Personable and helpful staff, clean facilities, wide range of equipment. I've been a member for 2 years and the only complaint I can muster is that sometimes the music is too loud--in other words, I'm an old grouch and this is a great gym.

Negative experience: I’d like to share this I signed up with define and ended up in the hospital for over a week by by being over worked by a personal trainer who is with and works for defined fitness took a couple of months off but didn’t realize that the contract I did sign would not stop until I went in and put a stop . So people please keep in mind that when you give your credit card for a personal trainer it’s not for the 3 months they’d said it was going to be it’s actually large monthly payment until you stop it . I don’t remember being told this but I did sign the contract not knowing this .. just be aware thanks !

Negative experience: People like to park in the handicap illegally not good for disabled customers I've seeing it everyday this week nothings being done about it.

Negative experience: Gym was nice and everything but the prices are just absurd. A regular gym membership is 49.99 a month and no guests privileges. And whats more crazy is a day pass is 21.99 and they need to hold your id and my friend is mexican and they had to take a picture of him just in case he was gonna steal something ig?

Negative experience: Cool gym I guess, but 21.99$ for a day pass, that’s a whole other membership at different gyms around Albuquerque. I’d go to this gym if it wasn’t so expensive. Definitely not worth the money .

Fantastic experience: Nice and clean. Only problem, I use the pool and they don't have steps to get in All they have is a ladder, and is very, very hard with bad knees.

Positive experience: It’s a newer building and way cleaner and nicer than the Montaño location. However, for the size of the locker room they need several more benches. It looks ridiculous with only a small bench (which wiggles and squeaks when you sit on it) and is inconvenient to have to walk 10+ feet from your locker to the small bench or drag it across the floor to be near your locker. They need a small shelf in each of the showers to put your toiletries on instead you have to put everything on the floor. Gross! There is only one trash can by the entrance. Put a trash can or two in the locker area please. I only saw two outlets for blow drying and one is by the only towel dispenser and trash can so if you dry your hair there, everyone has to reach behind you to get to paper towels or trash. A few small additions would make a huge difference! 1. A few more benches which are stable. 2. Add small shelves in shower areas. You can get some which have suctions cups easy to install. 3. Add trash can in locker area.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this specific gym for around 2 plus years. I have to say the environment is amazing, the trainers and staff are always very friendly. The cleanliness is amazing. Sanitizer wipes are always full, so you never have to walk across the gym to get some. The equipment is always accessible and you never find the equipment broken. The only time the equipment is down is when they are getting maintenance done, but it's usually back in working condition the next day. Also, the gym has drinks plenty of drink options and protein bars/cookies. If you have children, they also have a kids club. You can take them too, and the kids have a lot of activities to do and toys to play with. My kids love to go to the gym for that specific reason.Thank you to everyone at the Defined Fitness Mesa Club. I really appreciate you all for being so great and loving what you do.

Fantastic experience: Smaller of the group but morning 630 time frame isn't too crowded. Is clean, the staff is friendly and equipment is maintained regularly. Has an outside area for people to work out if that's what they are looking for.

Negative experience: Typical financially dishonest behavior. When will I learn? They gave me a 12 month membership agreement last September, so one would think that my membership expires as August does, especially because their app has a button for me to "renew membership". One would think that unless I click that button nothing will get renewed. Manager Chloe says that because I did not notify them by August 25th that I did not want to get charged for September, they will still charge me for September on the 1st of the month with the month to month tariff. She also claims this is written in the membership agreement, but when I click on membership agreement on the app, there is no such detail. I am attaching a relevant picture about the renew membership button and another one on their very brief membership agreement on the app. The app is also showing contradictory information on expected payment date. Chloe said she can let the developers of the app know, but it remains the responsibility of the gym that they are confusing and misleading clients to their financial advantage.

We apologize for any confusion regarding the membership agreement however we do have a time frame for cancellations before the 25th of each month. We are going to work with app development to ensure these terms are communicated more clearly.
Negative experience: This place wants want complete access to all of your information, to join they want access to 3 forms of payment so they can accidentally bill all 3 accounts, which I have seen done before. This is very suspicious to me, as they only need one card to bill, but I was told they want 2 debit cards and my banking information, sorry but I am not comfortable giving any company complete access to my money. It’s wrong for any business to ask for that much information, just so they can sell your information to other vendors. I think not… Until Defined Fitness changes their intrusive policies, I will not be joining. And I will be filing a complaint with my insurance company, as I did not agree to give all of my personal information to any company just because they have contracted each other. Not Pleased!
Hi Tomas,We collect 2 forms of payment at sign up for member convenience in case of situations like overdrafts, account closures, or anything else that may cause members to go to collections. We don't want members to have unnecessary debt however any personal information that is given to us is secure.
Negative experience: This one blonde girl be givin hella attitude I was jus tryna cancel my member ship and she started raisin her voice for no reason careful when you sign up for a membership they don’t tell you bout the contract and you gon end up getting screwed over here if you like being disrespected then you’d like it here fasho

Negative experience: horrible service. I chose this gym because they have a kids club and I thought it was safe to take my baby there. The people who are supposed to take care of the children don't do it. They are more busy on their cell phones or on the computer. They let the children cry and do not console them or play games with them. and the people at the desk were very rude to me because I complained about the kids club. I had to cancel my membership and they charged me more than $100 dollars and they didn't even apologize. Please do not take your children to the kids club.

Negative experience: Tried canceling my membership multiple times online and it wouldn’t let me I also tried going in person where they started to raise there voice and get mad at me she was a blond women. Be careful when signing up for the membership they don’t give you time to read any agreements then later on blame it on you. Worst gym so far

Negative experience: Front desk staff is amazing, on the other hand you get some of the detail staff not cleaning a gym that has over 200 visitors a day and on multiple specific occasions there’s a girl who thinks her work hours are social hour. Instead of doing the job need for the gym to be safe and sanitary

Positive experience: Good enough gym. Usually kept clean. Enough equipment for my needs. I hardly ever have to wait to use the equipment I need. I also love how I often have a pool lane to myself (but wish they would keep the water and room so warm). My only real gripe is that I often hate the music they blast and really wish they would turn it down, but that is a problem at most gyms. Why can’t everyone wear their own headphones? Then we could all listen to whatever we want in peace. I know I could get noise canceling headphones but they are still pricey. Saving up.

Negative experience: I'm disappointed by the decline in quality at this gym over the past few years. When I first joined in 2021, it was much better than it is now. The management and employees are inconsistent, with new faces appearing every few weeks due to high employee turnover. Recently, I was banned from the gym for bringing a guest who didn't sign in properly. Instead of resolving the issue with a day pass, they chose to revoke my membership and ban me. This decision resulted in them losing two customers and my respect. The gym has poor air conditioning, subpar management, and unprofessional employees. Additionally, the locker rooms, saunas, and pools are filthy and not well-maintained. Instead of trying to address the problem, the staff seemed more interested in asserting their authority. Consequently, I decided to be banned from the gym. They also added hidden fees throughout the year and overcharged multiple people I know. I am disgusted by the new management on the Mesa side and disappointed in their lack of communication and respect. The employees are often distracted by their phones and the fridges are never stocked, workout equipment are always broken. To make matters worse, there is mold growing in the showers. And they let old man record you while you work out and they won’t ban them.

Negative experience: Predatory membership contract. Very difficult and expensive to cancel Meh atmosphere didn’t inspire me to work out. Went less than 10 times in 10 months. I have no problem working out outside of the gym but need to strength train as well. Found another gym that costs more but I’m going 3 times a week because of the awesome atmosphere. Tried to cancel here and they refused to do it today because of their billing cycle and ridiculous fine print in the contract that they have you sign when you begin the membership. Also billing is on the 1st but billing cycle ends somewhere past the 20th of the month, so if you try to cancel late in the month you still have to pay for the next month plus $100 cancellation fee. Buyer beware!!!

Negative experience: If you like to be disrespected by the staff, then this is your place. Nothing like paying for a membership and the staff is a no show to open the facility multiple times a month. Complete disrespect for people's personal and professional life. About 20 plus members waiting for define to open! Define should give members who are standing around in the rain a discounted month. If your reading this shop around. Chuze is a great option and close to any define fitness in town!

Negative experience: I walked in one day interested in signing up so I thought I’d get a day pass to try it out. When getting the day pass I was told that if i decide not to sign up, they will “refund to my card the $20 day pass fee.” The guy even said it’s “a win-win” and “worry free.” I called them and asked about it and the lady told me that they actually don’t do refunds but instead they transfer the $20 towards the main fee. Completely different than what I was told. Not even a close comparison. Disgusting business.

Negative experience: I like the gym, but when I signed up the employees neglected to tell me that I would be getting double charged every few months. I get it. I’m a big boy There is fine print everywhere in a contract. It also takes zero effort to be honest with your client when they are signing up for this. The money is not the issue for some people it can be. Just shows the type of character your business has.

Positive experience: The Manager Miss Mendoza. Always HAS made me feel ,WELCOME. SHE EVEN CALLS ME BUY NAME. I HAD A SMALL HAPPENSTANCE.SHE WAS SO PROFESSIONAL ,AND RESOLVED IT IMEDATLY. Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP. They do not let you cancel the gym contract and will send you to collections when you try and cancel. I signed up for a month to month and stayed 8 months and when we tried to leave. They continued to bill me and they would not stop. Then sent me to collections when my bank offered to help block payment to them as I was there much longer then my obligation! Then lied to the collection agency and stated that I never made one payment. I have bank statements to prove it !!!! This happened to me and my fiance. Not to mention they tried to bill my fiance for the full gym membership of 1 year as well! They try and get you both ways. Funny they added MY bank details on her contract but shes on the hook. I would add a photo collection letters but we are both disputing these theives!

Negative experience: No free trials or day passes for minors because supposedly insurance doesn’t cover them. But they do want to get them signe up for a new membership.

Fantastic experience: Evan and Randy were absolutely wonderful great front faces for defined always very pleasant have tons of information and have all the answers for the questions that I had. Always nice to see a pleasant and welcoming person on my way in to hit a hard lift.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, but I definitely have to plan your time to go! It's packed and not enough lifting area! You will have to wait and wait if you arrive at the peak times.

Negative experience: I was very disappointing. The class election was mediocre. And the hours that they were available were terrible. The place was dirty and badly cleaned. People who are using the gym never cleaned off the equipment, as they were supposed to and nobody was around to enforce it. Totally gross!!! As well from that, there are not enough locations. It was very far from my house and it took too long to get there. I was extremely disappointed overall.

Negative experience: This gym is nice but I had fraud on my account and was two days late on my payment. The general manager told me I could not use the facilities and made me check out my kids. If I wouldn’t have tried to be transparent with them to let them know my situation that I would get my new card in a few days they probably would have never noticed I went in. I end up finding out there is a 10 day grace period but apparently I wasn’t worthy of that. That’s what I get for being responsible I guess. I was humiliated. I like this location because of Alicia in the kids club. She is so amazing with my kids and always so kind. If the management had the same care of consistency in customer service this place would be much better. If I do go back to this club it will be only because of Alicia in kids club. If it wasn’t for her I would give zero stars

Negative experience: I got a call from Defined fitness cause I was took a tour last week, I was comparing prices and the facilities, and they hung up on me, that shows the real face of there staff, I decided to go with chuze!

Negative experience: All that membership is just a trap just to make it look cheap and if you want to cancel they want you to give 100$ for canceling the membership because of the annualy plan bs just cancel it and that’s it smh.

Negative experience: I don’t like this location because of the staff, they are rude and unprofessional, I spoke to Glen who is an employee at this club and he doesn’t know how to speak for himself so he had other associates speak to me when I would directly speak to him, they are all useless and can’t help me with my account situation, this is why I would rather go to riverside club.
