10th Planet Oakland Jiu Jitsu

Fantastic experience: This place is so cool! It was my third experience with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and if you're looking for no ghee, it's one of the only places in town that offer that has a consistent program. The mats are immaculate because they are cleaned after every class, so hygiene is a high priority here. The instructors are very attentive and welcoming and the culture of the gym is too. It's aces.

Fantastic experience: The coaches and students here have made me feel completely welcomed from day 1. I've been attending the beginners Jiu Jitsu class for nearly a month now, and could not be happier with the instruction from Mike, the head coach. The sense of community here is extremely strong, and it really feels like everyone just wants to see you grow. 10th Planet Oakland has been an amazing place to learn and train and I'm so happy I found it!

Fantastic experience: I visited the Bay Area recently, and had the opportunity to train at 10th Planet Oakland for a week. Professor Hillebrand welcomed me into his gym, and treated me like one of his regular students. The instruction was spot on, with all of the attention to detail you would expect from 10th Planet. The gym has a great vibe, and a huge diversity of practitioners, men and women of all sizes and ages. I learned a lot and can’t wait until my next visit.

Fantastic experience: Mike is a great teacher as I had been with him since day 1 about 6 years ago. He teaches great techniques and truly cares about all his students. The facility is clean and has the space to accommodate large classes. The gym culture is amazing as everyone gets along with each other and cares about the safety of one another.

Fantastic experience: I have been training at 10th Planet Oakland for 2 months and could not be anymore pleased. The coaches and the other members are phenomenal humans who have been super supportive in getting me started. My personal preference are the am classes due to fewer people which allows for more personal attention. Also my 8 year old son is now training here and I'm excited to learn and grow with him in this environment. Just this week we found out that the gym will be moving into a larger location just a few blocks away which I'm super excited for. All that to say I'm proud to be a Savage! *** The new location is beautiful!! Again I can't say enough about the quality of people I meet here. It's a direct reflection of Professor Hillebrand (owner/head instructor).
