The Sanctuary Brazilian JiuJitsu and Fitness: Opinions
Fantastic experience: I've been training with Lucas and Charlie for 3 years now. Not only am I much stronger and fit than I have ever been in my life, but I am doing things I never thought I could. They really pay attention to individual needs and the community of the entire gym is so supportive, regardless of where you are on your fitness journey.
Fantastic experience: TLDR: This is the best gym if you want accountability and results. After many years of working in an office and not being active, I decided that it was time to make a change and join a gym. I did the thing most people do and toured Vasa, Chuze, and 24 Hour Fitness. The facilities and amenities were great. However, once I got close to choosing a gym, I realized that without any accountability or guidance I wouldn't stick with this new fitness regimen, no matter how much I tried to convince myself or which app I downloaded. Fortunately, my wife was an existing member of The Sanctuary and convinced me to give the gym a try. I was reluctant because it was a group fitness class. I thought that it was going to be miserable, but much to my surprise I have found myself loving every workout and the community of members. The trainers Lucas and Charlee are incredible. They foster an environment that focuses on fitness, safety, and fun. They practice patience when teaching proper form and technique. If you can't do it, they modify the exercise so that you can participate. Lucas and Charlee are hands down the best trainers I have worked with. For those of you reading this review, I would encourage you to give it a try with a free introductory class. If you are feeling overwhelmed or intimidated at your current gym, or at the prospect of joining a gym. I highly recommend The Sanctuary.
Fantastic experience: I have been training at the Sanctuary BJJ and Fitness the past year and can honestly say this is prob the best martial arts gym westside of Denver. Ben Lowery runs the BJJ part and his wife, Charlee Minkin, teaches Olympic level Judo. A husband and wife combo makes this gym especially unique. They give some of the most thorough instruction alongside a relaxed adult atmosphere. We all support each other, crack jokes, but not at the expense of the training. There's even a crossfit gym that they run connected to the building, so there's every tool available to the competitor, the martial arts enthusiasts, or the individual seeking to exercise while learning a new skill. Join up! You won't regret it!
Fantastic experience: A great place to train if you want to get in shape, learn self defense, or compete. It’s a start from the feet BJJ school with great take down instruction. Thanks to Charlee being an instructor there are a lot of women who train here so new female students will always have other ladies to practice and roll with. My foundation was in MMA when I relocated here from the Springs I wanted a gym with a good atmosphere and tough training partners. I tried out three other schools all of them were great, but this one felt like home. My wife eventually joined the BJJ side after training on the fitness side for a year and she loves them both.
Fantastic experience: I chanced upon this gym five years ago, and it's changed my life for the better. Ben Lowry and Charlee Minkin, the owners, are superb instructors with a high level of knowledge and skill in both Brazilian jiujitsu and judo. Additionally, the folks that train here are not only great practitioners, but excellent training partners. Being female, I'm very sensitive to having folks I can trust when I'm in compromised fighting/defensive positions, and I have never had a problem with anybody at this gym. There is a kid's class, beginner and advanced adult classes, and cross-fit sessions offered. If you want to learn a functional martial art, get a great workout and meet new friends, I'd HIGHLY recommend this gym. Please stop by and check it out!
