Maine Academy of Gymnastics: Opinions
Fantastic experience: My two year old daughter looks forward to coming to Gymnastics every week. Coach Paul is amazing with the kids, very energetic, funny, extremely patient (which is amazing quality to have while working with toddlers) and all around a great person. It takes my daughter a while to warm up to new people . She's extremely shy but she loves Coach Paul and constantly wants to work with him. I have no complaints!
Fantastic experience: My daughter loves coming to her Second Flight gymnastics class each week! She found her brave at gymnastics. We are so pleased with what she is learning and how much fun she has. Looking forward to having her birthday party at Maine Academy!!
Fantastic experience: Came for open gym with my 2 yr old & some friends.. 6 months later she’s in a first flight class & it’s SO remarkable what these little kids can do! Beyond the actual gymnastics or how much she loves all the equipment her size (they have a whole room! 2 actually!) & the trampolines.. my favorite part is her progression learning the flow & expectations of the class.. working as a team.. remembering where to go & walk & how to be safe! I’m so happy I brought her here & joined an actual class! Never would have thought 2 year olds could do so well! Also, she does summer salts with ease!
Fantastic experience: Great viewing areas for parents. Excellently trained coaching staff. Easy parent portal for enrollments. Fun and positive environment. We love going to open gym, on a rainy Friday night! Boys and girls competitive teams available, too.
Positive experience: Our experience started out great, my son is 4 and has autism and he’s non verbal. I explained all this to them when we started and the coaches were very accommodating allowing myself and my husband to be involved in the sessions as to help with communication and getting a routine for him. Going into summer classes we signed my son up for the smallest class which was only 2 students and he happens to be the only one there so he did great with the coach. Half way thru a new coach came so I explained a few things and she was fine with me being involved when needed. When we went down to next part of class in the main gym another coach abruptly and very rudely started parents were not allowed in gym. I explained the situation and she said for me to show his coach how to communicate which we were already doing. After that mason jumped into foam pit, he’s 4 who wouldn’t? And she rudely said to his coach take him upstairs! Her behavior was disgusting and unprofessional and that situation could have easily been handled differently. I gave 3 stars due to the fact that the other coach’s were amazing and when I spoke with main office they contacted the owner who then gave me a refund and said they would speak to the coach. Unfortunately one bad apple has the ability to ruin it and she is a terrible model of how a coach should interact with students or parents!
