Evolution Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Fantastic experience: I have been training exclusively in Evolution for almost two years. I was extraordinarily lucky to have found this gym. Before that, I had no martial arts experience. That said, I was very comfortable training here because we are friendly and gentle to beginners. We have a structured training regiment and encourage students to compete. I was able to participate in local tournaments after 6 months of consistent training. Training has helped me to be more confident, social and resilient to stress. It has changed my outlook in life in a way I have never possibly imagined. I will continue my martial arts journey here, and would wholeheartedly recommend you to be part of this transformative experience with us.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to train! I have never felt so welcomed by a gym. I’ve been coming to Evolution BJJ since November of 2022 and from the second I stepped on the mat, I knew I’d be staying. The instructors are so inclusive and even the experienced guys will take a new person to the side to show them different techniques. There are guys/girls of all skill levels and it is truly a wonderful place to learn.

Fantastic experience: After bouncing around a couple MMA & jiu jitsu gyms I ended up at evolution. The atmosphere and the coaches really knew what they were doing! The coaching was progressed and has a really in depth knowledge to it. Aside from the coaches, the team they have built there are full of great guys & girls.

Fantastic experience: Has to be the best gym around. The owners (Derek/Jeremy) are brothers and you will see just by talking to them that they don't do this for the money. They love the sport, and they are also very good with kids. The classes are strict enough to teach discipline and respect, but they make sure the kids have fun. My son has been doing BJJ for over a year now here and they have been awesome the entire time on both a professional level and personal. They genuinely want to see these kids succeed and it's great to watch. The coaches are also great and are all genuine people too. Can't recommend this gym enough.

Fantastic experience: GREAT instructors, super welcoming gym. As someone coming into the sport not knowing anything about bjj or having a background in wrestling was pretty intimidating, until I walked through those doors. Derek and Jeremy really break down each move so you're able to get the basics then you're able to add onto it. The other students are always willing to share their knowledge as well to help each other get better at any belt level. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Open matts are a vibe n a half, can learn just as much from the other students since everyone is so friendly and down share technique/drill. Derek and Jeremy are an iconic duo. Striking coaches are A1. Recently moved up here and instantly felt at home; super grateful for having found this place. Fantastic experience: This gym currently has 3 arts. BJJ, Boxing, & Muay Thai. I have done all 3 at this gym & each instructor is great. They take their time to see where you are and give you great advice to fine tune your skills in the art in which you participate in. The gym is very well maintained and the people are very friendly. The environment is overall great and full of people always willing to teach. Would recommend this gym to anyone looking to start any of the 3 arts mentioned above.

Fantastic experience: My son Nathian started this class of Jiu Jitsu he's taken 3 private classes n he loves it. Derek is very friendly very respectful and very understanding. I haven't met the other brother n the father but if Derek is nice and very educated imagine his siblings, n its a family business, everyone is welcome and the prices are great. Fantastic experience: My wife and I brought our hesitant/shy 14 year old son to Evolution, and it’s been one of best decisions we’ve made yet for him. The instructors are fantastic and very helpful with new students and their knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu seems boundless haha. The other students are awesome people and make for excellent sparing partners. Fantastic experience: Great learning atmosphere. All 3 instructors are patient which each students level of learning. Each class starts with a cardio circuit system, that test out each individual’s level of conditioning. The students are competitive and willing to help each other out. Egos are checked at the door. You will learn not only how to defend yourself, but the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MORE. I have been to Jiu Jitsu schools all across USA. Not one school compares to Evolution Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I challenge every single person who reads this review to take a class there and find out what the hype is all about.

Fantastic experience: I had wanted to get into BJJ for a long time but for some reason I kept putting it off until recently. Boy I wish I started years ago because the workouts and training done at this gym are amazing. Not only are Derek and Jeremy great teachers you can truly tell that they love doing this. The other people I have met at this gym are nothing but friendly/respectful. To all my fellow Law Enforcement Officers out there you should 100% be here and training. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: Originally, my wife and I brought my (then 15 yo) son to Evolution BJJ. We had been looking for a Jiu Jitsu school for some time. We found a few decent ones but nothing that matched our standards (Dream List). We were looking for: 1. Top tier instructors with the patience of a teachers heart. 2. Professionalism. 3. A hygienic facility. 4. A flexible schedule. 5. A welcoming, positive and respectful culture. 6. An atmosphere that promotes working hard towards ones goals. For a while we thought we would never find a school that matched our standards. That is until we found Evolution Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. After the first night of class with Derek and Jeremy, my son was hooked and I was certainly impressed. Time has passed since that initial visit. My son has since graduated from high school, but not before becoming captain of his wrestling team and having a tremendous season that saw him wrestle in the state tournament (he attributes part of his success to skills learned at Evolution BJJ) . Now, my wife and I our own Jiu Jitsu journey at Evolution. I can tell you this as a parent and as a participant: The instruction is phenomenal because both Derek, Jeremy and Chris realize people learn differently and they take time for individual instruction. It’s an ego free environment where other students are just as apt to help you along. My wife (who never participated in any athletics) feels comfortable. Best of all you will be pushed to overcome your physical and mental barriers and this will translate into all other aspects of your life. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner.

Fantastic experience: I was never physically active for most of my teen and early adulthood years. My teenager son started taking Brazilian jiu jitsu classes at Evolution after a few months my husband and I saw such an improvement on his discipline and resilience that we started taking classes too, first my husband which at the time he was overweight and lost a lot of it over the period of six months since he started taking classes. Then I started. I’m still new but I could see a huge improvement on my endurance and techniques over a period of 3-4 months taking classes twice a week. The instructors are excellent and very understanding of any limitations you may have. I’m 36 years old and I thought I was too old to start taking BJJ classes but I was surprised how much it improved my mental and physical health.

Fantastic experience: This gym is a must if you are looking to train BJJ. As a woman making the decision to try a sport dominated by men can definitely be intimidating. Upon walking through the door of Evolution my fears quickly disappeared as I was greeted with handshakes from smiling members of the team along with the owners/trainers. My first class had me hooked and I was excited to learn more. Its been 6 months now and I can say that the day I started training with Evolution was the best life changing decision I have ever made. Jeremy and Derek take the extra time needed to help a newcomer with instruction on warm ups, drills, and moves to advance their skills. They have endless unrelenting patience, and are never going to get frustrated, even if you feel like you are asking a question for the 234th time. Both owners are great with children and you can see their true passion for the sport when they run their kids classes. They provide a safe environment that is also filled with fun, keeping all walks of life engaged in the process. They are proud of their work, and of their members, whether you are just looking to change up your workout, or if you're planning to compete. Fantastic experience: Our 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son both train here, and we can't speak highly enough of Derek and Jeremy teaching. The classes are focused and keep the kids engaged throughout the entire class. The flow of the class from warm ups, through drills and rolling is excellent. Concluding the kids class with dodge ball or tag always has the kids leaving with smiles. Great group of kids and parents. If the results at regional tournaments are any indication of the level of training the kids are receiving our kids are very fortunate to be training here. I recently started training here and can honestly say after 22 years in the military, this is one of the best work outs I have ever had.
