Positive experience: I like what they got there

Positive experience: I just recently joined (only 3 days in) and The only thing i didn't like is the staff is not very knowledgeable. After finishing up my time on my first day i went to the front desk to get information on the app that is needed to schedule sessions. I asked the girl if they had some type of paper to show instructions and she tells me no. I asked her which app and she tells me search the YMCA i tell her there's alot of them she pulls up the first one she sees on her phone and says that one. I could tell immediately she didn't know. So after that i spoke with a member and she showed me the correct app which isn't even specifically called YMCA its called Daxko when you search it. If your going to hire workers they should have knowledge on the actual job they are doing and they could be a bit nicer as well.

Fantastic experience: The youth program at Hartley Drive Family YMCA is top notch and worth every single penny I give them. My kids couldn't be happier. We have two children in after school and in Camp Pioneer and they come home completely exhausted, which is awesome. Ally and Lizzie deserve some serious praise. Best money ever spent!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been going to Hartley Drive Family YMCA for over 6 years with the exception of taking a hiatus during the first wave of Covid. I've never experienced a problem with any of the Staff or any part of their facility. Sometimes parts of the facility are under construction or down for maintenance which is just part of keeping the place upgraded. I have NOTICE IF a part of the Facility is going to be closed IT is Posted a week or so in advance on the front door or the door leading into the interior of the facility. I've always been greeted in a friendly manner with a hello or smile by the staff. I don't go there to become personally involved with other members or the Staff, I go there to work-out and then leave. This is why I have no complaints about this Location, The children get loud sometimes but, They are children. I believe the amount of money we spend to be members is more than Fair considering all that this location offers it's members. If a part of this location has an area shut down due to maintenance I myself fully understand and move on and do something else, I don't complain about it because the Staff is not the ones who makes the decision to shut down areas for maintenance that would be their head-office. So, Thank you to the staff and Y.M.C.A

Positive experience: Hats off to a great youth basketball program at this YMCA facility! The sports director Adam and his staff do an excellent job of organizing and creating an opportunity for boys & girls to Learn & Play the game of basketball. Unfortunately, there are a couple of parents (Jason Boles) who don’t seem to understand that this program is about: a Game, about having Fun, about Learning & Teaching the Basics, and about Safety and Sportsmanship. It is NOT about “win at all cost” and “disrespecting the game & officials” That kind of immature, self serving behavior has No Place in any Youth Sports and it sets a very poor example to Kids, Players and Parents attending the games.

Positive experience: Staff is nice. Some more dusting and mopping wouldn't hurt. It's a hit or miss with program instructors.

Positive experience: I've been to this Y a few times and liked it. The sauna and individual hot tubs are nice and more modern than most Ys in the Triad. However, the other reviews speak to the unfriendly staff, something i haven't experienced here myself, but something I see on a daily basis in the area, namely grumpy middled aged Southern women who really don't care about anyone else. My parents spent their final years at the Presbyterian Home in High Point back in the 1990s. People become the roles they play and have lost touch with their true self and therefore can't see it in others. Though I visited my parents often, I never made a single friend in 10 years there. The walls have eyes. No one says anything to you until a slight misstep when they don't confront you but go behind your back to an authority. One lady called the front desk demanding tea be delivered to her room. No one responded to her request so she called the police. I digress so back the Hartley Y. I have seen how these grumpy middle aged women end up: in a gilded cage at a nursing home.

Positive experience: I've been frequenting this Y on and off for about 4-5 years now. Please keep in mind I strictly use the women's center, spa and pool. I am only speaking of these sections of this Y. This is one of the cleanest, nicest, well put together Ys I've been too in about a 50m radius. It is really one of my favorites. Staff is always pleasant etc. The women's center is great when functioning at 100% but it never really is. In all the years I've been visiting there is ALWAYS multiple things broken/out of order. The women's bathroom sinks, only 2 (out of 5 I believe) have worked for probably about 5 years and running. The last few months the bathingsuit spinner has seldom worked, maybe 1 week a month if you're lucky. Showers missing shower heads etc etc. Etc. I understand things malfunction from time to time but there's a pattern here that other Y's just don't follow. Lastly, the hot tub was "temporarily closed", when I inquired, the first staff member didn't know it was. When they themselves re-iquired about the length of time it was to be down the answer was, well, no answer. They are well aware of these faults in the women's center no doubt but have yet to remedy much of it. Which is concerning non the less. Hence the public criticism here, now. I'd prefer this Y to be running optimally but I'll just go to a more consistent Y; Just check back time to time and endure the not as aesthetically pleasing Ys of the triad until then.‍♀️

Positive experience: I have enjoyed going to the Y for over 20 years spanning 3 States. My only gripe is the price, not very Christian of them! Otherwise great club, not too busy and not too many meat heads.

Positive experience: I've been a member since 1998 and until recently, quite happy. Over the years there have been many remarkable additions and improvements to the facility. Lately I have noticed quite a bit of staff turnover. Membership includes two towels but there are rarely any available, and I would rather forego that amenity for a lesser monthly membership fee. Also, there is only Wifi in the adult fitness center, not throughout the facility, which is pretty behind the times for 2016. It is a great place for youth focused families but those of us who are just married couples with no kids are really expected to pay too much in the context of what we receive.
