Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Fantastic experience: Grand Valley BJJ is the best place in the valley to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My six year old started training a few weeks ago and loves it. He is always asking when his next class is going to be and can't wait to get there. The children's classes are fun - the games they play teach jiu jitsu and Professor Kevin empasizes the importance of dealing with bullies in a positive manner. As a female in a mostly male sport, I have always felt safe and respected at GVBJJ. I would recommend this gym for men and women who want to learn BJJ and train with a black belt whose enthusiasm for teaching shows in every class.

Fantastic experience: I was in Grand Junction for a week of work and found this great place to train while I was there. Great instruction and very accommodating students. I never saw overinflated egos and always felt safe drilling and rolling. I will definitely go back if I am in the area again.

I have been commuting from Denver to Grand Junction for business for a few years now and have finally found a great, friendly place to train Jiujitsu in a nice facility. Fantastic experience: I visited this place during my cross-country jiu jitsu tour during which I drove from Cincinnati, OH to Torrance, CA visiting every jiu jitsu school I can on my way. I've been training jiu jitsu for over 5 years and have been in a great variety of schools. This one was absolutely one of the most legit schools I've been at. The quality of instruction is superb. Kevin (the head instructor) is very thorough and attentive in going over various techniques. Furthermore, he takes his time to observe students practice the techniques, making helpful corrections and adjustments. The instructor and students are super friendly. The place is very clean and welcoming. It was the first time for me to train in high altitude, and everyone was so helpful, offering water every 10-15 minutes and checking in to see how I was feeling. Overall, a great place to train. As someone who's seen a huge variety of schools, I can say with absolute confidence that you'll love the friendly atmosphere and the high quality instruction here. I very much look forward to coming back.

I have lived here for quite a few years and was thrilled when I heard that Professor Kevin Lewis was going to open his own school. Finally a legit Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt here on the western slope! GVBJJ provides a friendly environment for someone new to the sport and also has plenty of talented students to help further develop your skills. The kids program is awesome, they always have so much fun. The coaches do a great job keeping the kids attention by using games to teach BJJ principles and techniques. Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has a nice clean facility, with great people. So whether you have been thinking about trying brazilian jiu jitsu or you are ready to step up or game this is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: Grand Valley BJJ is best place to train bjj. Now, I'm not a member but I was in Grand Junction for work and looking for a place to train. I went to that other place but I didn't get the same welcoming feeling that I got at Grand Valley BJJ. Not only that but this place has great instruction under Kevin Lewis. If you ever found yourself in Grand Junction and looking for a place to train, this will be it.

Fantastic experience: Very humbled by the kindness and welcome I received at this school. I travel quite a bit for work and I reached out to Kevin regarding an opportunity to train just for a night when is was in Grand Junction and he and the team welcomed me with open arms. Cameron introduced himself and gave me a tour and once the No Gi class got started they paired me with other people who were new to jiu jitsu and had a great attitude. Because some of the guys were attending back to back classes they were a little winded so Kevin let me roll with him. I can tell it is a great place to learn and has an awesome community. I will be back whenever I am in town.

Fantastic experience: My kids have pretty much grown up in this gym. Kevin, the owner, and his wife, Nadia, are exceptional owners and run the facility with the best instructors. The atmosphere is not intimidating or competitive. It's very friendly and from the moment you walk in you are greeted like a friend. The kids always get a good workout and lesson every single class. They have made some life-long friendships and have learned important life lessons that will take them farther in life in the real world. This place is like our second home and we couldn't ask for a better BJJ place to be at!

Kevin is a great instructor who went above and beyond to help improve my game by showing me some techniques and concepts that perfectly complement what I've been working on recently. Fantastic experience: This is an amazing place to train. I started with their 6 week challenge this summer, and immediately felt welcomed by the coaches. Their classes will leave you dripping in sweat and smiling like the Cheshire Cat. It’s a great environment.

Fantastic experience: Exceptionally hospitable. Really great group of guys and gals. The clientele can really make or break gyms for me. These guys roll hard but with great control and technique, and everyone was super friendly. No one tried to rip my head off or Gordon Ryan my knee. Two mat areas one for striking one for grappling. Plenty of parking. They even had a sauna! If you live in the area you have a great location to learn / train at Grand Valley bjj.

Fantastic experience: Amazing training for both adults and youth. The kiddos programs are so above and beyond, what I expected. The couches care about the kids growth, they are not just another paycheck coming onto the gym. The adults classes are just as awesome, the Adult fundamentals Kickboxing & Jiu-jitsu on Tuesdays and Thursdays are great, I look forward to these classes every week.
