Positive experience: YMCA San Mateo has 7 double swimming lanes in pool.... However their pool doesn't have a deep end, It's only has up to 4+ ft to swim and 25 yrds long. Hey, but it's niceif you want to get your swim on.

Fantastic experience: The San Mateo YMCA is a nice facility. The staff is very friend and the classes they offer are really good. The instructors are knowledgeable and vary their routines keeping the programs fresh and challenging. I can't say enough good things about the Fitness Instructor Kelly. She's been with the club a long time (decades) and well known and liked. Her positive and upbeat demeanor is one of a kind. She manages to skillfully keep everyone in her classes engaged by encouraging you to sing along to songs and her delightful sense of humor brings a smile to your face. The janitorial crew is amazing, it's the cleanest gym I've ever been to, better than the more costly clubs. The workout areas are well lit with natural light coming from the numerous windows and they have the ability to let fresh air in so you don't have to breath air conditioning like most gyms. I appreciate that they have a cellphone policy limiting members use of phones in the common areas. They have lots of programs for kids and are very family oriented. I highly recommend this gym.

Positive experience: This YMCA is Super! Yes....very busy! But that's due to it's greatness and popularity. I have belonged to many gyms in my life time. Their is nothing inadequate about this facility. It certainly is not huge like the PJCC.... but neither is the price! HNY!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to the Peninsula YMCA for many years. This is a great place to bring your family! Our grand kids love the pool, child watch, summer camp, and other activities.

Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly, always ready to help, especially a girl named Fátima, very educated. Great place for kids to practice varied sports, great space and easy parking. If you want to do some sport do not have to be a partner, just pay a slightly higher rate of value and okay, you have the right to participate. Location and clean blocks, we always see people cleaning the rooms. Good for family sports.

Fantastic experience: We just go for the Kajukenbo martial arts and the instructor, Sifu Alvarez is amazing. From what I see it seems like the rest of the classes and such seem good and staff friendly.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for 20 years. This is the best gym I have ever been to. I especially love the family atmosphere and the bright, airy feel to the upstairs workout area. Both of my boys learned to swim here, and attended many outstanding summer camps. One of my sons coached youth basketball and in the process, grew up a lot himself. Excellent facility!
