Fort Mill YMCA at the Complex

Fantastic experience: Just a couple miles from downtown Fort Mill, a wonderful fitness facility with some of the nicest folks around. Including, a full scale gym and workout area, two swimming pools, basketball gym, all while backing up to the springs complex that has lots of athletic fields, tennis courts, and a nature preserve with many trails off behind it as well. A great place to go and be a part of. Definitely check it out.

Positive experience: I remember having my 5th birthday party here when it was the Springs complex, and 25 years later, not much about the building has changed. It's an older facility, but that doesn't bother me.. I enjoy the nostalgia :) but I was surprised how small the weight room is! However, it never seems crowded when I go, so I guess the demand doesn't really necessitate it. I wish they offered more evening classes or early morning classes since this YMCA is the closest to my home.. that's probably the only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star. Happy to see this complex is still up and operating so many years later!!

Positive experience: I would have given fewer stars but because the staff is always friendly I’ll leave it at 3. Honestly, my biggest complaint is about the women who insist on bringing their male sons into the female’s locker room. I’ve seen it happen at least six times over the last couple of months. Boys up to 7 years old are brought in with no regard to how other members may feel about it. There’s even a ‘family’ room in the hallway (a large bathroom complete with a shower) that is available for anyone to use and yet this continues to happen. I guess some people simply have no boundaries or concerns over how others may feel.

Fantastic experience: During the worst of Covid, it was impossible to get a swim lane in NC and then I remembered my favorite metrolina philanthropist and environmentalist, Anne Close Springs and the new Fort Mill Aquatic Center (FMAC)! The people, the welcome atmosphere, the beautiful environment, the bike trails, the tennis courts, the baseball park, and the true unblemished values of the YMCA mission—make this Complex, an oasis. Enjoy!

Fantastic experience: Great place to get a good workout in!! Never very busy and they have free weights! I have thoroughly enjoyed my first week of membership!! And the access to all other Y centers will be nice once Covid restrictions change. Great place!!!
