Fantastic experience: I dropped in for an open mat while traveling from out of town. The owner and members were extremely welcoming, respectful, and helpful. I was able to get in several good rolls and felt very comfortable training here (I’m a white belt female with about 6 months of training, so wasn’t sure what to expect dropping into another gym). The atmosphere at Legacy is amazing and I’m blessed to have a great place to train when visiting. I look forward to going back when I’m in town again. Great place, great people, and great training! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Excellent instructors, supportive learning environment and good class sizes. No egos or fight sports drama here, just good clean jiu jitsu... Well there are a couple dirty wrist lockers and some leg lockers ya gotta watch out for ???? come try it out and make some good friends in the process. Mon/Wed have large classes for GI BJJ... Tues/Thurs they do Judo and Muay Thai... And Fri/Sat they do my personal fave and the future of jiu jitsu Nogi submission grappling. Why wear a goofy GI when you can wear ninja tights? Sundays is open mat where there are usually plenty of upper belts and drop ins from other affiliated gyms to roll with, spar or drill. Many people travel an hour or more to train here and there is a new location in the works with like triple the mat space. Oh and prices are the most reasonable I've ever encountered in my 8 years in the game.

Fantastic experience: Simply the best environment, culture, and instructors in this region of the country. If you have always wanted to try modern martial arts, but are hesitant, this is where you belong. If you are experienced and looking for something different, come to a few classes and you'll see what I mean. The instructors (and fellow students) are very welcoming and just good people. Every gym has a culture and a "vibe", and Legacy has intentionally set out to create the right environment for everyone. The variety of class offerings and times are simply unmatched. Their fees are also the best around, but I would honestly pay more to stay here because of my experience since the first time I texted one of the owners/black belts to ask him about stopping in.

Fantastic experience: This place is really nice, toured a couple of places and this was the best by far! I can’t wait to go back to learn more. Made me feel very welcome and they were helpful compared to other places that made me feel unwelcomed and unimportant. I can’t think of a better place to go to and all of the instructors were really helpful and patient with me considering I had never had any training or anything before.

Fantastic experience: I've been in the martial arts business for a long time and have visited several schools across the midwest. These guys have a great approach by providing a staff of highly skilled and extremely experienced instructors who have personality and a passion for teaching! My advice? Don't hesitate to stop in for a trial lesson -you're going to love it!

Fantastic experience: I've practiced martial arts on and off for many years. I stumbled into this place after deciding to delve deeper into Jiu Jitsu and to better my grappling skills. From the get go, all the coaches were super professional, friendly and willing to help with anything I asked. The facility is clean, the instructors are very knowledgeable and fellow students are very cool and accepting. The environment is fun and competitive. I definitely suggest checking it out.

Fantastic experience: I just started out a few months ago. All the staff made us feel welcome from day 1. I started out knowing absolutely nothing and having not a clue what I was doing! They're the perfect place to go whether you are just doing it for the workout and cardio or of you really wanna get serious and fight!

My son was brand new to BJJ and they worked with him every step of the way, working him in with the other students. The instruction was communicated clearly for the age group where all were able to understand. Great group of instructors.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been thinking about getting back into Jiujitsu for a couple of years and I was stuck on wondering what it would be like to walk into a place as a stranger and having essentially forgotten everything that I had learned. I forced myself to go to Legacy and I am so glad I did. The staff and other students, and I think maybe the other students are perhaps the most important ingredient, could not be more welcoming and willing to help. I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the place. The instruction and expertise levels are also off the charts. It’s not just a place with a bunch of nice people...their staff are high end professionals with high standards. The culture of the place just has the right mix of making everyone welcome and making everyone who wants to work, work. If you are thinking about checking a place out...this is the place.

Fantastic experience: Did a drop in at Legacy when I was in town for work. They are fantastic. Everyone was very welcoming and I settled right in. The instructor was great and the students were skilled and very technical. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Hamilton.

Fantastic experience: I'm a blue belt from Santa Barbara, CA and whenever I visit Ohio, THIS GYM IS WHERE I'LL TRAIN! Such a great gym. It's always a good sign when a gym has a good ratio of colored belts to white belts. Everyone is progressing, learning and getting challenged. As a visitor I feel welcomed by all the students and coaches and had plenty of good roles with upper and lower belts. The gym is squeaky clean and has a separate women's changing room and bathroom . There are plenty of class time and options for any schedule. Such good vibes and seems very kids/family friendly as well. When I move back to Ohio, I know I'll be calling Legacy my home gym. If you live in or near Hamilton, this is a great place to train bjj, Judo, and mma.

Fantastic experience: Awesome, patient instructors who take the time to make sure everyone is comfortable with the techniques before moving on. The atmosphere at the gym attracts only the most decent humans, making it a gathering of the greatest group of people not found anywhere else. The moment you walk in, you're best friends with everyone there despite trying to murder each other everyday. Will be training here for a very long time.

Fantastic experience: Just relocated to the Dayton area and have been making the drive down to Legacy on Sunday evenings for their open mats. Very friendly, very clean facility, and open to people from outside gyms coming in and training with their team. I will continue to train with them as long as I am in the area.

Fantastic experience: My two kids, 7 and 10, and I have been taking classes here for more than a year and we could not be happier. World class judo, taught by a former US Olympic team coach, and BJJ taught by legitimate black belts with high-level competitive experience, there are no better instructors around. More importantly, it is the most friendly and family oriented environment around. The owners are not ego-driven, power-hungry, or just looking to make a buck. If the above is not enough, it is the cheapest BJJ gym around, by a long-shot. Also, no contracts. And they have now they have added Muy-Thai classes, for no additional cost. Seriously, if you have ever had an interest in the aforementioned martial arts, or had a bad experience elsewhere that caused you not to return, or if you or your child to be more active, while learning a life-skill, drop in. They offer free trial classes, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: Legacy offers something for everyone. Convenient schedules for adults and children with a wide variety of martial arts disciplines - all at a reasonable price. If you look around, you’ll find no other gym that offers such value for your money. The staff is friendly, the equipment is top notch, and the instructors are patient and knowledgeable. The team atmosphere they foster will show you that they truly want to help you reach your goals. If you or your kid has been wanting to do something like this but you’re still apprehensive, take one of their complimentary lessons or just swing by to watch a class; you’ll be glad you did.

Fantastic experience: Amazing, talented coaches with many years of experience. Great for law enforcement, women who want to learn self defense, and children! I recommend and give Legacy 5 Stars! Many of my friends take a variety of classes there and refuse to train anywhere else! We LOVE this place!

Fantastic experience: I really appreciate the patience and dedication of the instructors with the children's jujitsu and judo classes. My daughter trains in both disciplines. Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Fantastic experience: I have tried several judo schools in the area, and visited several more while traveling across the country for work. This is by far the best school I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. No one in the area comes close. The value of the instruction/atmosphere for the low prices they charge isn't even fair to the owners. Classes 7 days a week, 3 professional programs, all for one low price. I have yet to see a school come near that. Judo is one of the best programs in the country, bjj excels among other schools, muay thai is awesome. If you're looking for a family friendly school with positive outcomes for students, Legacy Academy is for you.

I highly recommend training here. They offer day and evening classes so they cater to all work shifts.

Fantastic experience: Went to the 530pm open mat and the mat was full of people from white to black belts all down to roll both gi and nogi. Everyone was extremely nice. The instructors Truly care about their students and are phenomenal to roll with. Expect flyer miles as they train a bunch of judo!! Will definitely be visiting again!

Fantastic experience: This is an awesome gym! They have multiple black belts at almost every class giving out the little ninja tricks that improve your skills, not just basic techniques. Everyone is friendly and respectful. My kids also love it and make good progress. Whether you're a beginner or ranked, this is the place to be!
