Fantastic experience: I love Action Fitness!! I have been a member there for a little over two weeks. It is unlike any other fitness experience I have ever had. The members are very supportive of one another; encouraging each other through their challenges and sharing in celebrating their achievements. My Personal Trainers are the bomb diggity!!! In addition to their expert knowledge and training in the studio, I receive regular e-mails and Facebook posts from them with regard to what's happening in the studio, health and wellness information, nutrition tips, feedback on my progress, words of encouragement, etc. outside of the studio. It is obvious that they really care about me, and want me to succeed at achieving my goals! I like the fact that Action Fitness is a woman's only gym/studio, because it allows me to get down to business, and be myself. I strongly encourage you to check out Action Fitness. You won't be disappointed!!
Fantastic experience: This gym has been the best experience of my life. I have joined a community of coaches and woman that have helped me achieve my goals. This is a woman's only gym that has both classes and personal training. The classes are high intensity interval training, which has been proven to be the most effective at burning fat even after you leave the gym. I have been coached on not only fitness, but on nutrition too that has helped me lose 30lbs and I have been able to stop taking several medications since I joined in March 2014. This is not a big-box impersonal gym. They give you personalized instruction and help and ladies of all ages and shapes and sizes come here to work together. When I started I was not exercising at all and now I am amazed at what I can do.
Fantastic experience: I love Action Fitness!!! The coaches are fun and engaging; the other members are friendly provide a sense of community; the workouts are challenging enough, and I'm getting results! I've been with Action Fitness for 8 months and have lost 30lbs and dropped 4 dress sizes! I highly recommend Action Fitness for women who are ready to push themselves and are ready to be the healthier you!
Fantastic experience: I have never enjoyed going to the gym. It is always something I did begrudgingly, and while I was there I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. I used to go to the big gyms and do group classes, but didn't see results like I wanted to. I joined Action Fitness at the very beginning of 2014 after seeing a friend have wonderful success there. I started out doing Personal Training 2 times a week, with the option of attending unlimited group classes. It was only a matter of time before I upgraded to Unlimited Personal Training and I go 4-5 times a week. I stopped obsessing about the number on the scale and started appreciating the strength that I was gaining, the toning and muscle definition that was happening, and my general overall happiness at being active,working hard, and looking so much better in photos and in my clothes. John and Don are fantastic trainers, fun to be around, and for the first time (ever) I can say that I truly enjoy going to the gym. In fact, I drive all the way from Alexandria to Fairfax just to go there. They encourage me, give me lots of tools to succeed, and are always there for my questions and willing to help me do more. It's not just a gym, its a community of strong women who support each other and cheer each other on, and trainers who really, really care. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym and highly recommend it! I actually look forward to my personal training and classes. The classes are so fun, yet challenging. The coaches are encouraging and always patient with me, since I am a beginner. The main focus is on safety, which is so important to me! I am doing exercises I NEVER could have done a year ago. My health has changed dramatically--I am down 50 pounds in six months and my clothes fit so much better, and I have sooo much more energy for my children plus I sleep great. I feel so much healthier!
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a women's only gym that will deliver real results, than look no further! This is the only fitness program that I have tried, consistently stuck with, and most importantly SAW RESULTS! I love working out here! What makes this program different from any other program that I have tried in the past is the sense of community and support from both the members and the trainers. What continues to impress me is the fact that the trainers genuinely care about you and go above and beyond to make sure that you reach your goals. They make the effort to answer any and all fitness questions you may have. And an added bonus is the nutritional resources provided as part of the membership to further enhance and speed up your goals! And the fact that they know their members by name is awesome! How many big box gyms can say that?? I highly recommend Action Fitness! Please check it out! I truly believe that you will love it as much as I do!!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been an Action Fitness member since November 2020, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What originally started with a 6-week challenge has now become an integral part of my life. Prior to Action Fitness, I had tried many other gyms and memberships (e.g., xSport Fitness, UFC Kickboxing, Orangetheory, and solidcore), but it was always difficult for me to stay consistent, mainly because I wouldn’t see the results I was hoping for. However, my motivation, mindset, and perspective on working out changed drastically shortly after joining Action Fitness. I’ve become a member who shows up often, shows up enthusiastic, and shows up for the long run. Doing so helped me to lose a total of 27.8 pounds and 13.5% body fat. Action Fitness would not be the same without its awesome staff members. Lorie, our fantastic member care specialist, and Shaunda, the ceo and owner, are very helpful and always there to answer any questions you may have. Coaches Sergio, Jhoel, Ray, Josh, and Brandon are well trained and very professional. The coaches here are specialized in personal coaching, small group classes, and nutrition coaching - and trust me when I say they really know their stuff. While my initial goal was to lose all the extra weight that I gained during my second pregnancy, I can say that I’ve become stronger and healthier than ever. Thanks to Action Fitness, I went from only being able to do 4 push-ups to 16. What's my next fitness goal, you ask? Mastering chin-ups and taking advantage of the flexibility classes to improve my flexibility and mobility. What sets Action Fitness apart from their competitors, is the sense of community and belonging that it creates. The small group classes, which consist of max. 9 people, not only allow us to receive individual attention from the coaches but also to create close relationships with other members. I’ve met some great people here and built strong friendships, with both the coaches and members. Together, we motivate and challenge each other to go beyond our limits and to work towards our fitness goals. I’ve certainly reached my fitness goal, and if you want to reach yours, then Action Fitness is the right place for you too.
Fantastic experience: I joined Action Fitness to do the challenge. I hear good stuff about how professional the coaches are. And man it is so true! Because of the pandemic I gained some weight I was hoping to lose some of it. I was able to win the challenge and lose over 20 pounds. In addition to this I learn a lot on how to properly workout and that is the proper form of body I need to be in! Their group session felt more like personal training. I love it and highly recommend it if you are looking to improve your health or weight loss in general.
Fantastic experience: I did the 6 week challenge and lost 21.2 lbs!!! It definitely was not easy and requires a lot of discipline to be able to follow the nutrition guides. However, the coaches were there to support you along the way! Huge shout out to Coach Sergio and Coach Ray for all their support and guidance throughout these 6 weeks, they made it easier by understanding my needs and pushing me to my limit. I know this challenge might not be for everyone so I recommend you try at least one of their classes, they are fun and very adaptable to anyone whether you are a beginner on ur fitness journey or a pro. Fantastic experience: Just completed the 6-weeks challenge transformation with Action Fitness after having my baby and I loved it. Lost the baby weight!!! (23 pounds and 4.6% body fat) Shout out to personal trainer Ray for giving the best workouts and kicking my butt, but also helping me with my back issues (he is also a physical therapist). Great thank you to Lori for helping me in my nutrition and adapting my diet to my necessities as a new mom. Would definitely recommend this gym to anybody who is serious about losing weight. Discipline and correct guidance can help you out reach your weight goals.
Fantastic experience: The Action Fitness program was a total game changer. I had gained 30lbs because of covid, and truly needed to get my sexy back. Their challenge is to lose 20lbs or 6% body fat in 6 weeks. In 5 weeks and some change, I lost 22lbs and 7.5% body fat! I also lost 3 inches from my waist. Looking SNATCHED. Their team TRULY cares about your success. My main coach Jhole was super supportive, and helped me with hacks and tips, as well as motivation along the way. Ash was my favorite to train with, as he kept my laziness/cheating in check during the workouts. Sergio helped me find an amazing running/race organization, that I did a 10k with which helped immensely in reaching my goals. And Josh had such wonderfully designed workouts. Lorie is the glue of the place, and has had her own amazing weight transformation. In such a short time, they truly feel like family, and I’m always happy going to their gym. You MUST try this type of weight loss transformation challenge. ESPECIALLY because if you reach your goals, you get your initial (reasonable) deposit back. Note: You must stick to their diet and exercise requirements, but once you commit, you’ll change behaviors lastingly, and start asking yourself why you haven’t been eating this healthy, and working out this much beforehand. Unsolicited PSA: MAKE THE TIME for your health…and honestly, doing anything with an incredible team behind you is so much easier! Sooo I’m excited to buy the fancy purse I’ve always wanted with that cash I’m getting back, and will be rocking it with my hot girl summer bod (thank you very much)!
Fantastic experience: Nothing too crazy or tough, but a great place to challenge yourself. They help you lose weight for FREE, which is great
Positive experience: I just finished my 6-week challenge, was able to decrease 6.9% of body fat total through the period. The format of the workout has been just right what I wanted like a real challenge so it was satisfying. The trainers at the gym are very friendly and nice. Highly recommend if you are looking for something as a good start of your exercise. Be aware there is no locker and you need to bring your own water bottle and a mattress for your knees.
Fantastic experience: This is the best fitness experience I've ever had. I have been a member here since 2018 and have had 100% support from my coaches the entire way. I've had multiple injuries from my job and life in general and my coach Sergio always knows how to help. Due to gastrointestinal issues my diet has changed drastically. My coach Lorie always has suggestions and advice on how to keep up a good diet on a tight schedule. I am eternally grateful for all the help and support I have received!

The staff are professional, excellent trainers, motivators and always look to challenge you to reach your goals. Fantastic experience: I started my 6 week challenge in Nov. 2020. My goal was lose 20 lbs. OR 6% body fat. My experience from the beginning was positive. The gym was welcoming. I liked their mission statement. "Real people, Real results." I liked the small group setting. Coach Jhoel was my coach when I signed up for the challenge. Jhoel explained how the challenge worked. He listened to my personal challenges when it comes to working out and how I did better when I had someone to "hold my hand" so to say. I do better in a small group setting. I liked the diet plan that I was assigned to follow. Very simple and easy. The food choices were many and after 10 days into the diet plan I wasn't craving the foods I was missing. I was determined to meet my goal and get rid of the Covid weight gain I experienced! I went to the gym 3x a week for the 6 weeks. The location of the gym is easy to get to and ample parking is available. I used the Mind & Body App to sign up for my classes. There are lots of class times to choose from throughout the day. Very convenient. Coach Sergio was the main work out coach I worked with. He was very supportive and he pushed me just a little harder each work out. The music was fantastic! My fellow challengers and members of the gym were fun to work out with. Checking in on FB kept me accountable and in touch with the Action Fitness community. Having the option of a ZOOM class from home was nice. The gym is always clean. The equipment we used was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after our use. The coaches checked in with me regularly and any questions I had were addressed immediately. John texted me a few times with encouragement and tips to stay on track which was great! I won my challenge by losing 6.1% of my body fat! My weight loss was 8 lbs. I feel great. I have learned to eat much healthier. I am in a routine now to exercise at AF 3x a week to continue my fitness goals. I am thankful and grateful for the coaches and staff for helping me achieve my goal.......especially during the holiday season of tempting foods!! I highly recommend Action Fitness to everyone if you truly want to see a positive transformation in your body and lifestyle and have fun doing it!!
Fantastic experience: Action Fitness is a great gym! I did the 6 week challenge and lost 22 pounds!! The coaches are very supportive and encouraging. They do their best to know you, offer modifications when asked and -best of all- challenge you to achieve your best! I also loved the Zoom workouts as an alternative to going to the gym. The meal plan is easy to follow and the staff posts recipes on FB regularly. It was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made! Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I recently finished my six week challenge at Action Fitness in Fairfax Virginia and I am delighted over my results (lost over 7 lbs., decrease my body fat by over 7% and gained over 2lbs of muscle). I haven’t been a fan of working out by myself and was looking for a supportive inter-active community in which I could feel comfortable and confident enough to reach my goals. Jhole, Ashkon, Lori all made me feel at home and with their guidance I am now feeling more fit physically and mentally. I highly recommend the Action Fitness team!
Fantastic experience: After completing the 6 week challenge at Action Fitness i can honestly say I am glad that I did it. I was able to lose 20.5 lbs thanks to the amazong coaches and support that they offer every step of the way. I am eating so much better and feel great about how im looking. I would recommend this gym if you are unsure whether or not to take the initiative to just do it. You get motivation from from all your coaches and they take care of you while also pushing you to give 100%.
Fantastic experience: Action Fitness in Fairfax is wonderful! The staff is sincerely supportive. The workouts change constantly, are effective and the trainers always challenge me to get to the next level of fitness as if I had a personal trainer.I like that we are a small group versus the crowded gym scene. The addition of an effective nutritional plan with the workout makes it a true transformational fitness center.
Fantastic experience: If you're looking to press "reset" on your lifestyle, Action Fitness can make it happen. I enrolled in their 6-week challenge with a goal of losing 20 pounds. I hadn't stepped foot in a gym in several years, and had developed pretty poor eating habits during quarantine (looking at you DoorDash...). The coaches and other members make you feel like part of a family from the moment you walk in. Everyone is supportive and encourages you to succeed. The workouts are pretty intense, but the coaches are attentive to your personal limits. I ultimately lost 25 pounds through their diet and exercise plan, and have never felt healthier. Make no mistake, the challenge isn't easy (it wouldn't be a "challenge" if it was). But you will see results if you commit yourself to it.
Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed my experience with Action Fitness. I participated in their six week challenge after being relatively inactive for the previous 9 months. I was impressed with the program and really enjoyed the workouts. I was shocked to start to see visible changes in my body after the first two weeks. The coaches were all very knowledgeable and supportive. I was regularly contacted to see if I had questions or needed anything. I have done many diets and other exercise programs in the past, and never have seen a change so quickly. By the end of the six weeks I was able to lose 21.6lbs and 6% body fat. I absolutely recommend this gym to anyone interested in making big changes towards a healthier lifestyle.
Fantastic experience: Action fitnes in farifax is a place to go to start a healthy life style journey. The staff and coaches are always there to answer your questions and concerns. I took part in the 6 weeks challenge and was able to win and accomplish my goal . I was able to lose 10lbs and 11% body fat by following the meal plan, communicating with my coach and working out 4x week at there gym. You get what you put in to it. They provide you a Coach, nutrition plan and a place to work out. I ilke that everyone goes at your own pace and modification are given. This was by far the best decision I've made this year. If you want motivation to be healthy and get your health journey started you wont be disappointed. I feel more stronger, driven and healthier than when i first started. I would recommend Action fitness.
Fantastic experience: The Action Fitness experience is awesome! With the Coaches at Action Fitness I was able to achieve my goals while seeing amazing results. I lost 6 percent body fat. The trainers are knowledgeable, supportive, motivating and they take interest in everybody's individual physical needs. The workouts change constantly so it's never boring. It's a very upbeat atmosphere, and they play great music. I am recommending them to all my friends and family.
Fantastic experience: I just finished my challenge and lost 24 lbs! With the help of my coaches, I was able to learn about nutrition and meal plans, and I was able to tackle areas of struggle like increasing water intake and emotional eating. The exercise program was also fantastic. More importantly, the accountability coaching I received was most critical to my success. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: I just won my 6 weeks challenge and I’m so proud of myself. It was challenging to commit to a new routine and to eat healthy specially at this time, however, having the community of people and the coaches make a world of difference. My accountability coach, Jhoel, had the answers to all my questions and concerns, and during the exercise sessions he knew how to challenge me without me realizing that he is making me work harder. Sergio is another coach who encouraged me always to continue exercising, especially at those moments when I’m about to stop. Maria taught me how to hold the right form by telling us what not to do :) Exercising with Kenny was tough yet pure fun. And Lorie, she is a wealth of Information. She answers the questions that I didn’t know how to ask. Her help like all the coaches was invaluable!
Fantastic experience: I joined Action Fitness for a 6-week challenge that promised I'd reach a pre-determined goal if I sticked to the plan, which consisted of a limited diet, regular workouts, and specific accountability goals. Long story short, I surpassed my goal and lost even more weight (and fat) than I had set out to. Their setup is simple, yet effective. You are given a restricted diet, you attend a minimum number of workout sessions per week, you get guidance from the coach(es), and make yourself accountable for following through via their private social-media community. Their diet is not fad based; it's a straightforward list of dietary elements your body needs, tailored to your body type, composed of a limited number of foods you can eat. The workouts are probably the most addictive part, since they are varied and effective. The coaches do a fantastic job of keeping things progressively more challenging as your fitness level increases and you feel the difference every single week. You are held accountable only to yourself, but their private community is an effective source of motivation and self-accountability. Disclaimer: This review is part of an honest testimonial as a partial requirement of the challenge. No pressure was exerted by the staff at Action Fitness to guide this review towards a high rating. My rating is a reflection of my experience at Action Fitness. Experience: My experience was 100% positive. Every staff member showed nothing but interest in helping me improve my fitness level. From diet planning and guidance to coaching and physical therapy counseling, everyone always provided candid and useful feedback. It WAS challenging to keep to the diet, but it also made eating a much more involved experience, increasing my awareness of what I ate and towards what goal. I came out much better informed about my eating habits and think about food as an active source of fitness rather than a second thought. The workouts also proved quite challenging, but after a week or so it became much more bearable as I would not get sore anymore and I FELT better in general. They could feel grinding at times but the satisfaction of finishing them more than made up for it. The coaches always push you to do things better and more effectively, looking out for what's too hard or easy for each person and modifying exercises on the fly to keep you in the right path. To me, the best part was seeing the sheer diversity of people in each session, all striving to become better, which kept me coming. Nothing is more humbling than seeing someone 30 years your senior kick butt. I'd highly recommend this "gym" (it's a misnomer, really) to people who know that reaching any goal takes honest work and are willing to put in the work to reach it. There are NO shortcuts, NO fad dieting, NO inhuman routines, and NO BS at Action Fitness. They simply provide the framework you need to reach that goal, and you just put in the work. I've tried going the regular gyms before and never came close to reaching my current level of fitness, which is the best it has ever been. Wether you're new to fitness or a more experienced fitness junkie, they'll make it just challenging enough for you to reach your goal. Good luck.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Action Fitness! I did the 6 week challenge and won! I lost 21.5lbs but gained so much knowledge. I understand my body and nutrition better. The coaches were great and I enjoyed the workouts (weird I know). The community and the support you receive are so helpful. I never felt out of place or judged. The coaches and other members were always encouraging. The classes are small and it is like you get 1-1 attention.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, great people. They really want to see you succeed and give you all the tools you need. I signed up for a six week challenge to lose 6% body fat and by using their diet, guidance, and facilities, I lost 7.8% body fat. I'm super impressed with the results. I learned some important habits and couldn't have done it without my personal coach being available and giving me critical tips to succeed.

Fantastic experience: Okay, so, I found Action Fitness about 2 weeks into my mind change that this time it will be different. I LOVE action fitness! I just finished their 42 day detox challenge and WOW not only do I fee more confident about myself but my mind has strengthened. I instantly noticed a different in the structure, this isn’t just a 6 week challenge this is a stepping stone into a new lifestyle that you can maintain! The coaches provide you with the knowledge, motivation and discipline to stick to your nutrition and workouts! Jholeman and the entire team take the time to map out your journey with goals that push you and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. Fantastic experience: This is my honest review of Action Fitness 6 weeks challenge program. I joined the challenge in July and was successfully able to win and achieve my fitness goals in just 6 weeks (Lost 23 lbs, and 7% body fats) Everyone from the owner John Castro to the training team and support staff is honestly amazing. The orientation process and diet plan was super easy, detailed and organized. Things I like most was 1. Assignment of a personal trainer (Sergio in my case) who constantly monitors and guides you towards your goals. I have attended the session of all trainers (Joel, Sergio, Josh, John) and have never felt that I am not getting enough guidance. Even at times when the class was super full, I had received one-to-one guidance from the trainer who constantly monitors the postures and guides you to adapt right techniques. 2. Schedule is super flexible, they have classes that runs enough times during the day to pick and choose from. 3. They even have the schedule posted on Mind & Body app which is very convenient. 4. Motivated environment, good selection of music, trainers and always smiling and happy. I highly recommend this team if you want to achieve your fitness goals. Fantastic experience: I started gaining weight since last three years and I knew that it was not good and even I wanted to join gym classes but I did not have strong will. Eventually my doctor told me that I am pre-diabetic, have cholesterol and high blood pressure. She gave me 3 months to control my weight and sugar otherwise I would be on medications. This was the point when I joined Action Fitness. I started 6 week challenge at Action Fitness and now I am in 5th week. Before starting I thought diet would be hard for me and class would be easy but it was totally opposite. Meal plan was awesome but class was difficult for 1st week. I recommend Action Fitness to change your life as they have impacted my life in a very positive way. I am very grateful and thankful to all coaches specially Coach Lorie, COACH SERGIO and Coach John. God bless all of them including all members of Action Fitness. Update: I just finished my 6 week challenge and got the results of my weigh out. I lost 21.8 lbs and 5.4% body fat. I strongly recommend AF to achieve any of your goal either it is loosing body fat or gaining muscles etc. Now my wife is also joining AF to loose her belly weight which she got after giving birth of our child.

Action Fitness streamlined the process and made getting physically fit & mentally fit about nutrition and exercise very simple and straightforward. Fantastic experience: Action Fitness is a phenomenal place! The staff and coaches helped me lose 29 pounds in 6 weeks and changed my life to a better and healthier one. I could not have done this without this awesome team. Not only did they provide me with an easy to follow meal plan (and shopping list) but their group workouts were awesome and effective. Despite having a prior shoulder injury I was able to participate in the workouts because the coaches modified the exercises to my needs and abilities.I was always encouraged and supported. Fantastic experience: I joined Action Fitness initially for the 6-week challenge and it was a great place to get back into the rhythm of a healthy life style. The close-knit group of coaches, front desk staff, and members made the experience more inviting than I anticipated; which is a great thing of course! During the 6-week challenge I last nearly 25 lbs. One healthy habit I picked up during the challenge was simply being more aware of the unhealthy foods I was consuming. During the first week of the challenge, I did not incorporate healthy eating habits into the routine—and the weight loss (lack thereof) was impacted by it. After reviewing my diet with the coach and making a few adjustments, the weight loss finally began! I would recommend Action Fitness to anyone who wants/needs to get serious about achieving their goals—whether it be gaining muscle (getting toned) or losing fat. The guys/gals here are great instructs and can guide you in the appropriate direction.
Fantastic experience: I just finished my 6 weeks challenge and I won!!! Down 8,5% body fat and 9 lbs! It’s not magic you need to work hard and be rigorous but Action Fitness has a great team of coaches , mine Laurie D was really helpful, cheering me up when I was feeling down and when I was doubting ... giving me advice. Big thank you to Sergio and Jhole for helping me during fun workouts and pushing me . I would definitely recommend AF , I feel much better , I have more energy !
Fantastic experience: Heard about the FREE 6 week challenge at Action Fitness and had to give it a try and it sure didn't disappoint!! Amazing coaches guiding you every step of the way with a detailed meal plan, workout techniques and classes all designed for your specific body type, and all at a cost of $0.00!!! The Action Fitness team got me on track for a healthy and dynamic lifestyle and helped me lose 22lbs in 6 weeks!!! Definitely not your regular gym experience, highly recommended if you wanna upgrade your lifestyle♂️
Fantastic experience: Action fitness is an amazing gym with a great group of instructors and a wonderful program for both losing weight, or in my case, gaining weight. I've always been underweight by many measurements, but during my six week challenge, I managed to put on 10% of my body weight while only increasing my fat by a few percent. I attribute my success to the coaches follow up, both at the gym and outside of the gym. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: I just finished my 6 week weight loss challenge at Action Fitness, and I am so thankful for all of their support. I lost 12.7% body fat, 20.9 pounds, and 7.5 inches during my challenge. I did it!!! Woohoo!!! Action Fitness is truly amazing!!!! They were with me every step of the way. Fantastic experience: I just completed the 6 week challenge at this gym and can honestly say that I enjoyed it! The workouts vary every day and the staff is very motivating and there to answer any questions you may have about the meal plan or workout. Great accountability and all around great gym!
Fantastic experience: I started my 6 week challenge with Action Fitness and I’m so happy I did and won! This is a different kind of gym, every one here actually cares! The coaches were friendly, offered guidance and support with the recommended diet, and challenged you at every turn. Do exactly what they say! Put in the work! You will see results! I lost 8.3% of my body fat and 10lbs. I feel so much better and confident in my body. I highly recommend Action Fitness, the workouts were different and fun every time, good for the intermediate and the absolute beginner. They made me feel like I was part of a community and I appreciate everything the did and all the coaches! I love burpees!!! :)
Fantastic experience: I am so happy to have found this place! I saw an ad on Facebook in September 2018 and decided to try their 6 week challenge, which I just successfully completed with a total weight loss of 24 pounds and a loss of 6.7% body fat! At the time, I had already been debating joining a gym to get back into a consistent workout regimen after having a hip injury for several months.Unlike other gyms I was looking at, I chose Action Fitness because of the focus on group fitness that involved strength, cardio, and stretching, as well as the accountability and support (as the challenge mandates that you go to 3 or 4 classes a week, with a coach that you consistently check in with). I loved the structure of each class and wouldn't be able to provide that intensity by myself at a gym, even if I didn't have an injury that I didn't know what to do with. Additionally, as someone who had to learn a lot of the exercises for the first time, and someone who sweats a lot and feels self-conscious about it, I felt comfortable with other people in the classes that ranged from beginners to pros. The coaches/trainers were great. Although I didn't interact with all of them, Sergio, Lorie, John, and Jholeman are really approachable and down to earth. The trainers proactively work to personalize any exercises in your workouts if you need modifications based on injuries/pain, or if you need help doing a certain exercise correctly. The workouts were somewhat like a high-intensity session of physical therapy for me and actually made my injury feel a lot better. I rarely felt like I was just going through the motions and always felt challenged by the coaches, while also being able to go at a pace that was best for any soreness or pain I had. Action Fitness is a bit small but doesn't need to be any bigger. However, sometimes the larger classes (~20 people) were a bit hard for the trainers to manage efficiently such that the atmosphere was a bit less personalized - some people thrive in that kind of environment but I found it a bit overwhelming. Luckily you can see how many people are attending each class when you sign up through the Mind Body app. The classes aren't always at the most convenient times but should be able to work for anyone at least a few times a week, what with their different schedules for Monday-Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would have probably preferred an 8 or 8:30 group exercise class on weekdays but was able to work with the 9:30 classes. There are also 5:30 classes available for people who need to get to work by 7 or 8 AM. Overall, it is really a great community that I see myself continuing to go to even with my 6 week challenge being over. I encourage anyone interested to check it out!
Fantastic experience: I participated in the 6 week challenge at Action Fitness, and it was a great experience. The staff there really know what they are doing, and it is the most complete program I have experienced. They combine a specific easy to follow diet plan with exercise for the most efficient way to meet a target goal, and people are achieving results. They are also very positive and encouraging and make exercising fun. I would highly recommend them to anyone of any fitness level.
Fantastic experience: This is an amazing environment and has great coaches. In 6 weeks, I lost 21 pounds and 5.7% body fat with their intense training and diet plan. I feel healthier, more energetic and of course very motivated. Unlike any other gyms, to reach your goal they really work with you. You assigned coach is literally available for you 24/7 (You rock Sergio!), ask him whether you can eat this or not, they keep checking you come to work-outs, text you how you feel after work-outs etc. This gym will carry you to a new level where you can enjoy eating healthy and a lot of fun with work-outs. Fantastic experience: I walked into Action Fitness a year ago weighing in at 263lb, down about myself and suffering from daily heartburn episodes. For awhile I've known that I had to make a change to increase my activity and eating habits, but it wasn't until the doctors told me either lose weight or they were going to recommend surgery to alleviate my GERD, that it compelled me to take Action, no pun intended. I look at various gyms in the area but not until I came to the orientation here did I find a place I knew would enable me to hold myself accountable, regarding diet, exercise plan and most important self accountability. I'm very grateful to this team for the structure and motivation they provide and I trust that add long as you have some incentive to improve your health Action Fitness is the right place for you. I lost 21.5 pounds in the first 6 weeks. It's been 1 year and I'm still at Action Fitness have lost another 50lbs of fat, gained 10lbs or more of muscle and feel amazing, mainly because of the challenging workouts, the motivational coaches and staff, cool membership, and FB community accountability. Fantastic experience: I needed a new jumpstart on my weightloss journey and Action Fitness was just what I needed. I joined the 6 week challenge and loss 24lbs and 7 inches. My experience with Action Fitness was the best; the staff is very encouraging, my coach kept me accountable and he walked me through until the end (Sergio is the absolute best!) I loved to flexible of the classes, which allowed me to attend classes either early in the morning(5:30am) or after work. The classes were challenging and kicked my butt...lol Action Fitness Rock!!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Action Fitness for about a year. It has changed my way of thinking. There is no quick fix to a healthier life style and most people that lose the weight quickly... will more than likely gain much of there weight back. I feel better then I have in a long time. My outlook on life is much better. I monitor my food intake weekly now, which I never did before (MyFitnessPal). The staff at Action Fitness are wonderful...Great Coaches! John Casto, Owner continues to grow and inspire his members each week...always something new and challenging. He will personally discuss any issues you may have that might be troubling you (Physically or Mental Thinking). I definitely recommend Action Fitness! Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Action Fitness for four months. In that time, I have lost both pounds and inches and have gained a much greater appreciation of what my body is capable of doing. With the encouragement of the coaches and other members, I push through to new personal bests nearly every week. Personal training focuses on strengthening core and overall strength; classes focus on interval training to help boost metabolism and cardio health. The classes change daily and I really enjoy the variety of the workouts. The support from the staff and the other members is awesome. Action Fitness is a real community, not just another gym.
