ARC - Athletic Recreation Center

Fantastic experience: I lifted here for a while when they were one of the first gyms in the area to reopen post-covid. Their free weight area is pretty tiny but was never busy in the morning and had everything I needed. It's also definitely the cleanest gym I've been to probably because of how new the facility is.

Fantastic experience: I wish there was an indoor pool. That's the only thing missing in this place. Don't get me wrong it's still a 5 star fitness center. Overall very clean and well maintained place.

Fantastic experience: This is a great indoor sports facility for soccer, volleyball and even a little baseball. There is a spacious area separated by huge curtains for different activities. Parents also get a view of their children through a glass wall or can step onto the field for a closer view. They also have nice size locker rooms and restrooms for guests. I've not seen the workout area, but if it is like the rest of the facility, I'm sure it's well maintained.

Fantastic experience: Thursday inflatables is a great deal!!! $5 a child and not crowded at all- perfect to break up the monotony of winter. My kids and even my dad had a great time!!!

Fantastic experience: Love the Arc. Great walking track and fitness center. Plenty for the family to do and a very friendly staff. Enjoy it so much I recommended to my in-laws who joined and my daughter Abby recently joined so we can go together. Glad it is back open!

Fantastic experience: My son and I recently joined and we love it. He actually joined first I love the equipment and cleanliness I haven't joined any classes yet but I like the convenience of early morning and late night . I can also walk to the gym from home

Fantastic experience: Best all-around family environment workout facility to go to that is so staff-friendly and helpful to get you on-track to better health. Barb Larocco was so informative and her helpfulness encouraged me to get started and to come into ARC. I chose a Trainer due being away from the gym for some time and that Trainer is Mike who is an excellent all-around teacher with the expertise of doing things right and fits a program that I can do as I am disabled. I am so happy that the ARC is a beautiful place that offers something for everyone! Well-managed and operated, clean, receptive and friendly. You'll love it!!! Check your insurance to see if you are eligible for Silver Sneakers Program that allows you to join any facility for Free - check each facility first for details. Also Medicare. Many are doing this now! Get out and improve your health!

Fantastic experience: Great place to go workout! I'm part of a lacrosse team that plays here during the winter and it's a very nice facility! Staff are kind, helpful and they always say hi when you walk in. The upstairs track is great for walking and jogging and the main workout area has lots of weights and machines. Great place to go get ripped.

Fantastic experience: This place pretty much has it all. It is or at least looks brand new. All the equipment is in perfect condition. Indoor track, indoor soccer field, basketball courts, and locker rooms. There is plenty of parking and there are also attached outdoor fields. Teams can play and you can also get them for individual.

Fantastic experience: Brand new recreational facility. Very exciting and inspiring. Staff is very encouraging and accommodating. We started as daily users of the track and now are full time members. We use track, fitness center and also open gym for badminton and pickleball. Our only request is that there should be more open gyms for recreational sports items such as badminton and pickleball. Gathering popularity these days, pickleball courts in open gyms gets occupied fast. It would be nicer if there is more open gym spots for pickleball.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. There's an indoor fieldhouse, basketball courts, party rooms and concession stand and upstairs is the workout facility with a studio room and indoor jogging track. It's a brand new facility that is always clean with nice new machines, and is never crowded. Plenty of parking available too. My only complaint is that they only have one shower and their small locker room which is located downstairs and none upstairs where the majority of people workout but I guess no one really showers at the gym maybe?

Fantastic experience: New facility to Woodridge Park District located at Janes Ave and 83rd Street across from Cypress Cove Aquatic Park. Staff is very helpful and professional. Personal trainers available. Many machines, indoor track for running or walking, basketball courts, large variety of classes as well as virtual classes, and much more. I would recommend enrolling the whole family as there is much offered.

Fantastic experience: I went to the open house and saw the turf soccer fields. This will be great for the park district teams in the winter months. I just wish it was closer.

Fantastic experience: Emily - I'm sorry you had a bad experience, and I'm not an ARC worker but after working at a couple gyms I'll say that the age rules are in place for general safety reasons. It's like not letting anyone drink legally until they're 21 - while some might be responsible, I believe it's still a good rule to have in place! Please keep up your strong athletic record. That being said, I've personally had a wonderful experience at the ARC. I'm a born and bred Woodridge boy and I can feel my hometown vibes every time I go and workout. I believe the whole staff is exceptionally friendly (except for maybe one, odd grump...) and the only thing I would actually change are later hours for the fitness center. That's on me though, I'm definitely a night owl. All in all I wish this rec center was around when I was in high school... it's so close to home plus they have a beautiful turf that I'm sure I would've kept coming back to. I definitely reccomend if you live close by.

Fantastic experience: I went there today for the open house and it is amazing! The whole place is clean and modern. I love everything about it. I will miss the 7/11 that used to be there but this is much better.
