Kidnastics has served the Los Alamitos community for over 40 years, offering quality gymnastics for boys and girls of all ages. It has been an honor to be a part of many local and neighboring families' lives. Many of our gymnasts who worked out at our original location on Florista St. now bring their own children and even their grandchildren to Kidnastics. In 2002, the long-time Manager of the gym at that time, Cheryl Vuong and her husband Chung, decided to purchase the gym from their mentors Dale and Sharon Williamson. The Vuongs continued the traditions that the Williamsons began and also added a few new programs of their own, like All-Star cheerleading, the Ninja Stars Program, Summer & Winter camps, just to name a few. All of this while raising two young children, Caden and Maddie, with the help of their Grandparents Barbara (Tutu) and Sonny (Papa) Hamocon. Besides helping raise their grandchildren, the Hamocons took pride in serving as the Kidnastics janitors. Tutu came to be known as the "jack of all trades," helping with office work, payroll, vending, and any last minute projects thrown her way. Sadly, in 2016, Tutu passed away and, only 2 short years later, Papa passed as well.
In honor of all the staff, athletes, and families that have made Kidnastics feel like home, as well as our beloved Tutu and Papa, we have decided to rebrand Kidnastics to Rise-Up Athletics. This venture began a few years ago and within the past few months, our current customers have probably noticed a few changes around the gym. We want to invite everyone to celebrate the love and history that has made Kidnastics special for young athletes and their families as we transition into Rise-Up Athletics in January 2019.

Fantastic experience: Good fun for kids.
Fantastic experience: Years ago my 6 year old daughter did tumbling/gymnastics here. It was such a positive experience & helped her learn structure on & off the mat. 15 years later I enrolled my grandaughter at Kidnastics , only to find the programs have grown & advanced. The staff is above any other gymnastics program ( yes I lived in HB & tried a gym there) I have ever seen. I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking to give their child a fun but healthy experience moving into physical exercise, cheer or competition level gymnastics.

Fantastic experience: Great experience for our daughter who joined the Cheer Team! She learned so much and was able to take her love for cheer to high school where she made JV and the CIF competition team as a Freshman. I know without the awesome coaching she recieved here, she would not have been ready for this level!! We are grateful for our time with them!!

Fantastic experience: RUA has been wonderful for my 7 year old. We have been there for 3 weeks now and my daughter looks forward to attending every Friday. The staff and instructors are kind and informative.
Fantastic experience: My 4 year old son attended the summer camp and had a wonderful time. Kidnastics did a great job enhancing his hand/eye coordination and balance with the added bonus of wearing him out, begging for an afternoon nap! :) Very friendly staff as well. Jeanette and Chung were very helpful in enrollment process and answering all my questions. Looking forward to enrolling my son in other Kidnastics programs as he gets older.
