Fantastic experience: Great facility with talented and pleasant staff. My wife and I have been members since 2004 and have no intention of leaving. The members are all friendly and other than occasional macho behavior around some of the women lifters, no one ever seems to look down on anyone else regardless of the level of their fitness.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member of PAC's Young Energetic Seniors group for 3+ years. Best place to be. The exercise each morning is great but the socializing is even greater! Kathy Mahoney makes everyone feel welcome and goes over and above what is needed. There are many trips and activities planned. Some are held on the facility premises such as a monthly birthday celebration, a Saints Tailgate Party, a Mardi Gras Party and seminars on various topics. Kathy plans day trips (eg: the race track, the Angola rodeo, the Abbey in Covington), overnighters (Natchez, Natchitoches, Paragon Casino, NO Cooking School), and an occasional week long trip - this year we went to Florida (Jacksonville, Amelia Island, St Augustine) next year to San Antonio. We have a weekly lunch bunch on Wednesday, Christmas parties, and we celebrate some very occasions. I am originally a "city girl" but now live in a very rural part of Franklinton. I love all the friends I have made at PAC and am grateful for the friendship and work that Kathy puts out to make our group so much fun.

Fantastic experience: Dance classes, yoga relaxation classes, friendly staff, clean environment. We have been family members for almost 20 years! My kids grew up (biting and playing) in the nursery with Karen, who was always professional and caring. 2 are in college now! After Katrina PAC was an oasis of normality and a place to take a hot shower while we were still out of power in Abita Springs! Thank You to PAC- Rachel Lambert

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Pelican Athletic Club since 2002 and will never leave! I've experienced everything PAC has to offer from the huge weight room, cardio machines, yoga, exercise classes, personal trainers, physical and massage therapist, (my son has experienced) swim lessons, mother's day out, PP-K program and summer camp and all has been a great experience. Staff is very personable and very friendly. At the moment my son who is 4 years old is in swim lessons. He started off with Kendra in a group class and then moved to a private lesson with Marion. He has turned into a little fish and I have Marion and Kendra to thank. PAC has been a great place to call our 2nd home.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to PAC for over one year now, having previously been a member of Franco's. I am proud to say that Pelican welcomed me into their senior program (YES -Young Energetic Seniors) from my first day and I have not regretted one day since. The leader of our group, Kathy Mahoney, not only leads us through our series of exercises on the circuit training equipment, but also schedules a series of events throughout the year for us to participate in. Whether it is travel, a luncheon, or a seminar, everything is first class, well-planned, and at a very reasonable cost.YES members quickly become friends and share lunches as well as after exercise coffee to discuss our own life experiences. It is not uncommon for us to have over 25 members participating in our group. Kathy takes the time to get to know everyone and keeps members informed about the group. I am also very pleased to see the general manager, Bobby Shaw, engaging with club members on a daily basis to learn how he can improve activities at the club. Thanks to Kathy and Bobby for making my membership at Pelican an ongoing positive experience.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for many years. The club is always so neat and clean. Playland is a great place to leave your child. I feel completely comfortable leaving my new baby with the playland staff. Anyone looking for a family friendly club check out the PAC!!!

Fantastic experience: The Pelican Athletic Club is phenomenal. Everything there is high end, high quality, clean, and I would go so far as to say luxurious. They have all the free weights, machines, and cardio you could ever ask for. Tennis courts, basketball courts, and two pools. The locker room/bathroom/shower area is huge, extremely clean, and classy. I stayed away from it for a long time because of the membership price, however, now that I have joined I think it is worth every penny. I particularly like the pool for the great cardio workout I get from lap swimming. They have a ton of classes from yoga to HITT, I haven’t done one yet personally but when I have looked in on them they look fantastic, I am looking forward to giving a class a try. This place is so much more than a gym and I feel as though the premium price is well worth the premium services they provide. I highly recommend the club. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how friendly and professional the staff are, they are outstanding.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful facility & gym. Always very clean & smells nice, bathrooms included. Wide variety of classes offered for children & adults & well equipped free weight & machine area. Pool area has several pools with life guards on duty. Friendly atmosphere as well.

Positive experience: Decent gym to fit various workout needs. Pool area and tennis courts are nice but starting to show their age. Staff interactions aren't consistent. Have had several less than ideal encounters with staff who don't deliver superior service. Also, training staff are not very responsive. Overall not bad but definitely not among the top echelon fitness facilities available in the area.

Fantastic experience: Very clean, with numerous machines to work out on. My husband and I have been members here for almost 2 months. So glad we chose this gym. The outside pool area is very accommodating also. With enough room to not have to sit on top of one another.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Good family atmosphere and it's so nice that child care is included. In most larger cities that's always extra, and not cheap. My wife does a number of classes and loves it. Very happy.

Fantastic experience: PAC always has a variety of workout classes offered. Their weight room is bar none the best on the North shore. They have done an excellent job at cosisitently adding new workout equipment for their members. If your looking for a club to join I highly encourage checking this place out.

Fantastic experience: I worked there for a summer as a lifeguard, and I've got to admit that they keep standards very high here. The attention to detail and routines we had to perform were very professional. The bathroom/locker rooms are very tidy and clean, as well as the pool and pool deck.

Fantastic experience: A real athletic club with so many classes and services. Its not just a gym. Its' got the whole 9 yards, even a hot tub and sauna.

Fantastic experience: Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and up to date equipment. Two kiddy pools and two adult pools. Many exercise classes and 15 lighted tennis courts. Has child care for while you exercise. Excellent club to workout, swim, play tennis or just socializing.
