Gold's Gym San Antonio Alamo Heights

Fantastic experience: The best Gold's gym. It's worth the extra $$ to get the platinum level membership. This gym has towel service and a fully stocked bathroom/locker room. The staff is always polite and agreeable. This gold's has the best pool and sauna. The only thing wrong with this gym is the lack of HOT TUB!

Fantastic experience: Black level facility for all the amenities ( no hot tub ) but has a steam room in each locker room and a dry sauna. Love this place. Never too packed.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, it's a great place. I started my weight loss journey back in 2017 and this gym has played a huge and pivotal role in me maintaining that weight loss and gaining muscle in the process. Also, look for personal trainer Shane. All of the trainers care about their clients (which is apparent when you see them) but Shane is someone I worked with and is the absolute best.

Fantastic experience: Very clean friendly and helpful staff. eguipment is always up to date,and available. locker rooms have all hygiene products necessary after a shower. The staff and size of the Austin hwy location keep me coming here.

Fantastic experience: Normally parents have to shield their children's eyes when I walk by to prevent them from crying at the horror, but after I leave this Gold's Gym strangers approach me on the street asking if I'm an Olympic athlete or professional strongman, and I have to tell them "sadly no, I just got SICK pump in at this Gold's Gym. Also I travel here frequently for work from out of town and only need a day pass and they're always cool about it.

Fantastic experience: I love it here!!! I have been coming for almost 6 months now and although sometimes I wish they had a little more variation in equipment, all of the workers make it such a welcoming and fun environment. I have never not been greeted with a smile or some positive reinforcement!!!! Very very glad I found this golds!

Fantastic experience: We moved from the golds gym location in the quarry to the Alamo Heights location and found the facility to be top notch. The manager, Warren, does an outstanding job. Both the gym and the dressing room are always clean and orderly. Super friendly staff and gym members.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Ive been to three golds gyms in the city and this one by far is the best. 1. Restroom and locker room are very clean. 2. Machines are always working if not the turn time is quick. 3. When you walk in you're greeted like family. 4. All employees are saying hello and if you need any help with the machines. 5. But the best thing is the swimming pool. 6. They are constantly keeping up with swimming . 7. They always have clean towels when needed. If your looking to get a good workout in, while perfecting your form, and improving your overall physique, & health schedule a session with Tim you will not be disappointed. Fantastic experience: I love this gym. They have a sauna, showers, and a woman's only section. The only downside is that if you need to cancel (no matter what the reason) they require a 30 day notice or else they'll charge you for the next month.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and organized gym. Gets a little crowded but people are respectful for the most part and dont hog the machines. This location includes a steam room and dry sauna in the locker rooms as well as a indoor lap pool. I haven't gone mid day so unsure then but early mornings and late at night it's been great. Best Golds I've been to.

Fantastic experience: This Gold's Gym is the best gym I've ever been to. They provide everything you need in the shower and dressing area down to blow driers. Do not expect this from other gyms (even Gold's Gyms!). Literally all you need is a change of clothes and a lock. My only complaint is that they haven't re-opened the outside pool. They do have an inside pool, but it's laps only. Such a great gym though, it will absolutely ruin all other gyms for you.

Fantastic experience: No hot water in the showers for the past 2 weeks only cold water and limited towels being put out at a time . I will give an update if things get resolved . Edit : the issue with the hot water has been finally resolved now if they can only stay open until midnight like the quarry location lol

Fantastic experience: If you're going to get a personal trainer, do it here. They're knowledgeable and always working to be even better. Felice, one of the managers, is very helpful. Even if you aren't looking for a personal trainer, the gym is always clean. I feel safe working out here. The classes they provide are also fun, and they have a wide variety. I've been a member for over a year, and don't plan on leaving!

Fantastic experience: People who give negative reviews talk about how bad the payments are, but I personally had a walk through with the GM (General Manager) and he explained it thoroughly and easy to understand. You have to end your membership before the 25th of the month before the next month (so if I want to end at the end of March, I cancel by Feb 25th, so it is a month in advanced cancellation) The gym is awesome. They have ALL the machines and weights you need for all work outs. I was looking at Planet Fitness before but they only have machines and no free weights. This gym has EVERYTHING and they have a sauna! Also even during the busy hours I’ve been able to find things to work specific muscle groups with a maximum 10 minute wait. The gym also has free towels and lockers (you need your own lock which is standard). They also have showers and free razors! I think the people who give bad reviews are the ones who don’t read through contracts and expect something that is unrealistic. This gym is great for the price. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’m not a member of this gym yet but here’s why I’m giving it five stars. I got a day pass and they let me in and let me work out and I left and never bothered me and they never pressured me unlike the last gym I was in where I was almost shamed into membership. But that tells me is they believe the gym will sell itself and I believe it will in my case

Fantastic experience: Welcome desk with touchless fob checkin. Extra high ceilings in humungous central exercise area. Cardio machines out front. Weights and resistance machines in the back half. Well spaced and grouped to target muscle groups. Sweat towel stations can be found where you exit locker room and shower towels are supplied in the locker rooms. Sanitizer spray bottles and paper towels thruout. Please wipe off equipment after use, guys. Windowed exercise classrooms in the east perimeter. Pool area out back. Comfortable seating area central near locker rooms. Men's locker room clean with plenty of space, benches, and well kept up. Bring your own lock. Individual shower stalls w soap, shampoo and conditioner. Razors, shave cream, deodorant, hair spray, hair gel, hair driers, and combs at sink stations. Steam and sauna, tv's with ESPN on in men's locker room. Suspect the same in women's. Family bathrooms with shower facilities are along hallway to pool area. Staff friendly. Tons of classes. One on one guidance available. Check at desk. Great facility and staff.

Their General Manager is excellent and always available for questions and to encourage you. I've been a member there for a year now, and I've never had a bad experience here. Fantastic experience: Remember gang! You get what you pay for or even less! For complaining go to the 10 dlls per month gym! For goldsgym appreciate and embrace the good experiences! And for the forgetful people please don't leave your belongings unattended! Concentrate on your workouts and stop texting! Don't expect your ear buds to hold the machines for your convenience be courteous and take oh and clean your sweat! There are enough goldsgym locations for all! Fantastic experience: I’ve been to multiple golds gyms in San Antonio and by far this is the best when it comes to cleanliness, equipment, and other gym members. This gym is always clean, they have more equipment than others and the other gym members actually care about the facility. The gym members actually re-rack their weights and clean up after themselves

Fantastic experience: This is by far my favorite Gold's Gym. The staff keeps this gum running smooth they may not worship the ground I walk on when I check in (being sarcastic due to other reviews) but they work hard to make sure towels are clean and stocked, changing rooms are clean, equipment is working etc. The gym is huge lots of options, a ladies only area, kids club, huge pool, outdoor pool, and many classes.

Fantastic experience: The trainers are super down to earth and friendly; plenty of equipment. There is also a day care center, outdoor pool, and indoor lane pool to utilize. I go there 4-5 times a week and am never disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Super Gym, friendly Staff, Always comfortable and well stocked with towels etc. One thing that needs correcting is the signage. The signs state no gym bags allowed on the exercise floor. Once I viewed a customer being asked by an associate to remove the bag, but only that once. Normally a dozen or so gym bags are throughout the gym. Either change the signs to allow bags or enforce the rule, otherwise customers are confused.

Fantastic experience: The classes are awesome! Lelani, Gala, Bridget, ,Ron are fantastic. I was a little bombed when I couldn't hire the assistance of a professional trainer, so I started to try the classes and I saw results since first week!!! Congrats to the excellent instructors!!! Love the staff's attention and the sauna and pool!
