Coach David Barnes has many years of experience in the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu. He works patiently with each student to help them progress. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The jiujitsu program with David Barnes is great. He is an import from Atlanta and if you are looking for high level world class competition jiujitsu this is the place for you. I was never the biggest fan of no gi mostly because I think feet are gross but David does a really good job of teaching a complete game as opposed to just heel hooks. I mean obviously there are plenty of heel hooks, it's not 1996 anymore, but he integrates them into a larger game and he also taught the most valid heel hook defenses I have seen to date. Call to confirm the schedule because there have been a few changes. I'm super excited to have someone of this level in the area and teaching day classes as well as evenings!!

Positive experience: Signed a six month contract for a kickboxing class that was cancelled with a month still left. The owner did offer an "alternative" class that was at a different time and with a different instructor. However the owner did do the right thing and refunded the last month of class to me since I did not accept the alternative class.

Fantastic experience: I have known Master Vanyo for many years. Not only is he a great friend but a great Martial Artist!! We had trained and competed together for many years. He is a man of respect and honor and in today's society that is very hard to come by. If you are looking for a school to train and learn you will not be disappointed. There is very few of these schools around today.

Fantastic experience: I am a second degree black belt in tae Kwan do. I have gone to master Vanyo's martial Arts school sense October 17, 2009! Jokyonim Jim teaches every class besides black belt class and Saturday morning class. Ask jokyonim Jim or master Vanyo for the times of the class. I help out on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. So please try it out. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Fantastic experience: Simply put, studying Muay Thai at Master Vanyo's gym has been a pleasure. It's not easy, but that's part of what I enjoy about it. There is a lot of personal attention paid by the class leaders, and by other members who are much further along as well. While it takes a minute for some of the regulars to warm up to newcomers, they're really all great! My only wish is that the gym (the physical space) was a bit bigger!

Fantastic experience: I used to be a runner, but a serious knee injury led to a lot of inactivity and a diminished fitness level. When I had recovered and decided to get back in shape a friend asked me to check out this gym. Learning a martial art was one of my goals this year so I went along. I'm so glad I did! I've almost never walked into a gym hat didn't start off hating the shape I was in but Master Vanyo is supportive to people from all walks of life, and I am encouraged to give 100%, whatever that is on a given day. If you chose this gym, you will not be sorry.
