Brunswick Recreation Center

Positive experience: I like having the recreation center in our community However, I wish it was in better condition. I also wish it had an attached senior center similar to the Strongsville recreation center. Seniors should have their own place to go.

Positive experience: It’s a nice place, but the gentleman who answers the phone when I call is kinda rude. I honestly just hung up especially with his tone of voice. The facility itself though is very nice.

Fantastic experience: I went for the swimming pool, It was great! Fortunately the Brunswick swim team was just finishing up when I got there. Only me and five other people in a nice pool! The diving board was nice. The hot tub jacuzzi was big enough for about 15 people. The staff was nice and friendly. The place seemed pretty clean.

Positive experience: I’ve been going here for over a year now, and I gotta say, the swim schedule has been driving me crazy. Every evening they let Swim United take over the pool until they close. This is a prime time spot that makes it very difficult for a working adult to get their laps in. I switched to swimming in the morning because of this, waking up extra early to do so. Then one day randomly the whole swim team shows up and I can’t do my workout. No text and it wasn’t in the schedule. The problem with this facility is that the needs of the community have far outgrown what they have. They need more funding, new equipment in the weight room, and a second pool dedicated just to lap swimming.

Negative experience: Hope my fellow Brunswick people see this. Do not get a pass here if you play basketball. Dusty and they never take care of it. Just get a new floor already stop just waxing it for it too work for 2 weeks then go back to slipping you can literally see how dusty it is.

Negative experience: Honestly, is it just too difficult to maintain a constant average room temperature between 68 and 70 degrees in the Aerobics/Dance Studio? Workout temperatures of 76 degrees and higher for Zumba, Kettlebell and other aerobic classes simply is not safe - especially for the older patrons of your group classes. Maintaining an average room temperature has been an ongoing issue for many years now. I work in the construction biz. Seems a simple fix.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time! Pool was very clean, same with locker room. Lifeguard was very nice and professional. The young man at the front desk was very nice, helpful, and informative. Overall a great experience!!

Positive experience: Would be great of they actually had any water outdoors, especially since the pool is utilized most of the time. If you are lucky 1 or 2 lanes might be open.

Positive experience: We went for an indoor summer concert and it was nice. They also have an indoor pool and a workout room and several meeting rooms.

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Old and outdated equipment, horrible layout, and was supposed to sign up for a time slot to use cardio machines. Ridiculous

Negative experience: Staff is nice but the infrastructure is old and outdated. The kids pool is broken for yrs. The outdoor snack stand never open, mold on shower heads, no changing table. Terrible for kids. Gym equipment old and out of date. Everything is stuck on 1990's and hasn't been updated since. No splash pad, pool deck dirty. Towel warmer broke. Everything is broken. Focused on old clientele that don't care about quality. Every other city rec center is nicer. Always have a scam 50% off sale for the last 20yrs. If they had the revenue to fix the place maybe more people and families would come and enjoy the place. It's honestly an embarrassment. Hopefully they modernize or get funding from the city to DO BETTER. Have management go to the Medina or Strongsville Rec with a full kids water ship, water lily pads, multiple pools, steam room, sauna, new equipment. Clean. Again do better for Brunswick's families.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a place to host an indoor playground birthday party look no further! The room, playground equipment and staff at Brunswick Rec were everything we could have asked for. All our guests had an amazing time and thought it was such a clever idea for a kids birthday party, especially during the winter months. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: Joining the Rec Center was one of the best things I decided to do since I retired! I feel so much healthier and saner and have made a lot of friends. It's my way to treat myself to some much needed self care.

Negative experience: I had a horrible experience in regards to my child and the rude woman. Natalie working behind the desk. When I reached out to management via email I was ignored and no one ever responded. My advice to her would be if you don't like children then don't work with them.

Negative experience: The worst place ever. Pool is not available all the time: it’s closed, or have swim teams on all lanes. How is it possible for regular people to go there after work if you have swim teams in every lane? And it’s not swimming lessons from rec center, they let third party to do their lessons there. It’s like the pool exists for retired people who can go there during the day or kids with their swimming lessons from 5 pm to closing time.

Positive experience: It's average with the functionality of what you need but nothing really stands out. The pool and hot tub appear clean but the hot tub is dated. Locker rooms likely haven't been updated in the past 15 years but as i said earlier get the job done. Basketball court is nice and usually kept in great shape. Weightroom has the same equipment other than some of the machines. They have done a nice job with providing for better flooring for the fitness center.

Positive experience: Unfortunately the pool finally reopened after being closed for cleaning for over a week and the water was quite cold as I went today. 77 degrees. They are heating it so should be good tomorrow. Thought I would go into the hot tub but the chlorine was so potent it was burning my eyes and I had to get out. Too bad when I called this morning nothing was mentioned on the automated schedule about the fact the pool needed another day to reheat. Hopefully all is good tomorrow

Positive experience: Nice but basketball courts could use a renovation. Havent gone in the pool area. Decent space and like the track above the basketball courts.

Negative experience: Track is not level and causes shin splints, was unable to sign up for the same membership I had 3 months ago.

Negative experience: Horrible experience at the pool. The lifeguards were super strict. My child was not allowed to jump off diving board, was told that he was “ flipping” when he clearly was not. My children could not play a simple game without getting yelled at. The only thing the life guards allowed my children to do was pretty much just stand there. Had to leave, I recommend if you have children to not being them here. They will not have a fun time being a kid. Just awful
