Sandridge Community Center

Positive experience: It's an average gym. The disappointment comes when you have a bunch of seniors citizens sitting on the machines doing nothing. I'm going back to LA fitness or Anytime Fitness. Gym is too small

Positive experience: SANDRIDGE IS MY HOME BASE FOR EXERCISE BUT SINCE I'VE BEEN GOING THEIR FOR OVER A YEAR THEY SEEM TO HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEMS WITH THE SWIMMING POOL AND THE STEAM ROOM THAT STAYS DOWN FOR 1 TO 3 MONTHS AT A TIME AND THAT SEEMS TO ME TO BE QUITE A LONG TIME THEY NEVER SEEM TO HAVE A SINCE OF URGENCY

Fantastic experience: I've worked out at various facilities since the early 70 's Sandridge has quickly become one of my favorites. Perfectly set up . Placement of apparatus is borderline genius. Easy to flow from excercise to excercise. Great equipment , immaculately clean environment serviced by a professional personable staff . If 10 stars were available the center would deserve that rating.

Positive experience: Overall Sandridge Community Center is a great location to workout and participate in group instructed classes. However; the facility needs an overall deep cleaning. The ladies locker room showers need to be demolished and redesigned.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! The price point is excellent and it has all the equipment you would need to get a great lift. Great bang for your buck and I would recommend this gym to any type of gym goer, beginner to experienced.

Positive experience: It's a pretty good spot to workout. It's not congested or over crowded. There's an actual steam room and sauna. It doesn't stink or have a gym smell. It's not fancy or has state if the art equipment, but it gets the job done.

Positive experience: I like this place because they have 2 different sections 1 for 18 and over and the other side of the building is for ages under 18 so when you are working out in the pool in the gym You don't have to worry about kids running around. Everyone there is friendly.

Positive experience: Very affordable for Calumet City residents especially if you sign up for an annual membership. Love the steam room,pool,whirlpool, and dry sauna. Staff is friendly. Just wish some workout classes were included.

Negative experience: I just wish Thornton Township/Calumet City would put money into updating and renovating the building and everything in it especially the locker rooms, showers, whirlpool and swimming pool. The site is surrounded by land that could be used to add on to the center and put in an olympic size pool. Dream on. It's not going to happen!

Negative experience: Sandridge is so inconsistent & the staff starting with the supervisor are inconsistent wit information. Better staff starting from the top is really needed for a change. A change was recently made back in the summer but it looks like for the worst. Omg

Fantastic experience: Small community based fitness facility. 6 treads, 2 elliptical, 1 Arc trainer, 1 ascent trainer, 1 stairmill, 2 recumbent, 2 upright bikes, free weight area, & selectorize machines. Good membership rates for those in Cal City & Burnham. Staff is friendly.

Positive experience: Always something for the kids to do! Down side, their prices for after school, and summer camp, especially if you have more than one child, you might as well pay for a nanny!

Fantastic experience: I love it. It has everything. Boxing, yoga, swimming, basketball, cardio room, cycling, a huge variety of weight lifting equipment, a sauna, hot tub, showers, flat screen TV's and it's really clean!!!! Individual classes, events, friendly staff and it's affordable.
