Coors Fitness Center: Opinions
Positive experience: رائع ☺️
Negative experience: An excellent space for training, but... I bought my membership in August after having a frustrating experience at another gym. I was also interested in swimming at El Pomar Natatorium. The good things The overall service is very good. The staff is young and friendly. They do not speak Spanish. That can be a problem if you don't speak English. The equipment is optimal. And the capacity at the opening time (6 am) allows to train without difficulty. These days, with the return of classes, you see more people. But it is not overcrowded. The changing rooms, showers and toilets are always clean. In general, the spaces are well maintained. It is safe and you don't have to look at your personal belongings at every moment for fear that they will be stolen. The downside The membership is for 6 months and is very expensive for what they offer. The Pomar Natatorium has very few hours available for open lap swim and is open during working hours for most people. They never respond to emails. Neither the ones I sent from the website, nor the ones I sent to the offices. If you are thinking about Coors Fitness Center because of the pool, I do not recommend it. There are other places with more hours available and at a much lower cost.
Positive experience: A decent speed pool with bulkheads and superb starting blocks. Love the large scoreboard. Only 5 feet between the edge of the pool and a concrete bulkhead by the starting blocks, which can get cramped quick. Very little athlete seating in big events. For backstrokers, there are few guides on the ceiling to naturally follow.
Fantastic experience: Very well run, clean, good class schedules:-)
Fantastic experience: nice pool
Positive experience: Friendly staff and great equipment, however it can be EXTREMELY busy and heard to get the equipment.
Positive experience: Free gym if you are a DU student. Friendly staff, good equipment, and conditions. It's often overcrowded after 5-6 pm.
Fantastic experience: Yup!
Positive experience: Small but good. Only had COVID protocol experience so hard to judge what it's like normally.
Fantastic experience: Stopped by so my wife could get her second Covid-19 shot.
Fantastic experience: Love the Coors fitness center for its accessiblity and variety of workout equipment. Plus the price is great!
Negative experience: Not a fan of the way they pushed Jean-Luc Moreau out and the direction the gym is heading
Negative experience: High prices, short hours, unprofessional staff.
Fantastic experience: Great pool, great basketball court. Overall a great pool
Negative experience: The Coors fitness center is what you would expect for a gym that is free for college students. All of the University's money is invested in the gym for the athletes and the cardio equipment, so for builders and Olympic lifters its a nightmare. They have 3 flat benches, 2 adjustable benches, and 2 squat racks. This would be acceptable if you went to a gym that had 20 people at peak times, but there can be well over 100 people in there from 3-6 on weekdays which makes it crowded, claustrophobic, and impossible to do what you want to do. Besides that a lot of the weight machines are outdated, worn down, or flat out useless and are only there to fill space. They have a nice selection of free weights, but unless you work out late at night or early in the morning, good luck finding a bench to use them on. Of the 4 free weight benches they have, only two are adjustable. They have no Olympic platforms and no space to do free floor exercises like deadlifts outside of the racks. They have no bumper plates and the facility is also "chalk free" which makes handling all of their bars, that are so worn that they feel like a greased pig, impossible if you're using heavy weight. Like I said, this place is a heaven for cardio rats and people looking to do classes and such but is a nightmare for people who are wanting to get into serious lifting or bodybuilding.
Fantastic experience: A great free gym if you are a DU student. A little overpriced if you aren't. I worked out here for four years and had a great time doing so! The staff is knowledgable and friendly!
Fantastic experience: Coors is a really cool place. Lots of machines, lots of classes, RACQUETBALL, and lots of helpful staff. The place is clean and cool. It's centrally located in University Park, and is pretty much one of the neatest fitness centers around. Sure, it's huge, but where else can you get all of your necessary services all in one place?
