Positive experience: I went to the front desk and spoke with a man, and said my concern. I said one of the recumbent bikes is hard to adjust the seat. He proceeded to let me know I did not pronounce the word correctly. Which I said it and he knew what I was talking about! ..I found him very rude. He ,after correcting me said he would look in to it. Why be rude?
Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality
Fantastic experience: First of all, the Nautilus Evo machine weights are probably the highest quality in the Springfield/Ozark area. I haven’t found another gym that uses Nautilus which are made to work with the geometry of the body, working your muscle where they are strongest and breaking over where they are weakest (like a compound bow). Not only are the machine weights of the highest quality, so is the staff. Scott makes you feel like a VIP working out in a private gym. I do High Intensity Training, and Scott at the River Fitness Center is the only HIT trainer in the area (you would have to drive to St. Louis for the next closest HIT training gym). Gym is super clean, super friendly, super affordable, and all-around “super!” No need to look anywhere else for a gym as the others I considered will always full, made you feel like just another cog in their cash machine, and we’re not personable. This is this highest quality fitness center in the area!
Fantastic experience: My family and I have been part of the River Fitness Center for almost 10 years. They do a great job at keeping equipment up to date and clean with a friendly environment. The staff is always quick to help when needed and professional.
Fantastic experience: Best gym have ever gone to. Clean, well equipped, machines kept up. Great free weight room. Pictures are free weight room only. There are 2 other large rooms with a track.

Positive experience: I really am thankful for the High Intensity Interval Training that Scott Metcalf provides at James River Fitness. He is a great Trainer/Coach. He wants you to get in, give your best work, and get on your way. It is a no nonsense 20 minutes of intense training that is at most 2 times a week. That is so doable when most of us have crazy schedules that gives us the “excuse” to say “ we just don’t have time for this.” It provides me the accountability not only to work my muscles to their greatest potential and gain muscle density and strength, but also in that amount of time, a complete full body cardiovascular workout.... I really love that kind of multitasking that does something great for my body.

Fantastic experience: The River Fitness Center is a great gym. It has a great selection of equipment and is always clean. My wife and I recently started HIT with Scott Metcalf, and have enjoyed the sessions as he has made us stronger with each session. I highly recommend The River Fitness Center and HIT class.
Positive experience: Nice environment!
Fantastic experience: I started about a year and half ago with Scott Metcalf after finishing chemo and radiation. I had been working out, but at minimal levels and wanted to get back in shape and gain strength. The concept seemed strange to me, but I quickly became a believer as I began to see results. This past year has been a busy one and I know I wouldn't have motivated myself to find the time to work out, but going once a week to see Scott for 10-15 minutes seemed very manageable. Some weeks I stayed more active than others, but at least I was getting my time in with Scott and building muscle. Scott is great at motivating you to be your best, coaching you to use correct form, and motivating you to keep pushing yourself. We took a long break over the winter and I could tell a big difference when we were not going. I was glad when I got back in the routine of the once a week training. Once I started eating right, cutting sugar and carbs, and remaining active, I started doing even better and started losing weight. I have continued to have gains over the past year. I have become much stronger and more fit since training with Scott and super slow high intensity training. I would recommend it to others, especially if you have a busy schedule and are looking for something to work into your schedule.

Fantastic experience: The River Fitness Center is a great place to work out that offers cardio equipment, machine weights, large free weight area, several fitness classes, and a basketball court. Scott, the fitness director, along with his AWESOME staff, keep the gym in tip top shape and always ensure that the entire place is extremely clean! I will definitely continue my membership here for many years to come.
