Missouri Elite Gymnastics Academy (MEGA): Opinions
Positive experience: We really enjoyed our visit.
Negative experience: Well, this year's birthday party was the complete opposite from last. nobody really interacted with the kids or us,there was a big hole by the foam pit that could've hurt someone. we just kind of guessed on when to go into the gym or back to the room. Last year we got to be upstairs.that was nice. Downstairs had wet floors and junk everywhere. Not very inviting. Super disappointed this time.
Thank you for the kind comment and for letting us know Natalya did a great job!
Fantastic experience: Great coaching staff. Everyone welcomed as part of the family. Gymnasts working hard, but also having fun.
Fantastic experience: Rosie's 6th Birthday was a BLAST!!!! Amazing facility, clean restrooms, this place is a gem of a find!!
Positive experience: First night of tumbling, Coach Kirsten seemed to be very attentive to each students needs and individualized the class to their specific needs.
Fantastic experience: We had our first class with our 2 year old. the instructor Jessica was AMAZING! this seems like a place our daughter will grow into and win a ton of medals!!
Thank you so much for letting know how great a job Jessica is doing! We will let her know and we look forward to your daughter growing with us!
Fantastic experience: Great place. Coaches are awesome with the kids!
Negative experience: Poor customer service, ends classes early, basically a 'kid mill'
We appreciate the feedback but we hate to hear you feel this way. While classes should never end early, we will address this with our staff. Regarding being a "kid mill", as an owner this is absolutely the opposite of what I hope for our gym. I don't want to waste anyone's time or money. While sometimes it takes time, I expect every student to learn something from us even if it's not a "gymnastics skill" but as simple as balance, how to fall/roll safely or confidence. Regarding the poor customer service, I would appreciate it if you would send a message or e-mail describing your issues. Again, thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: I had my sons 5th birthday party here. He and all his guest had a blast! The owner was out on the floor playing with the kids and monitoring everything. There was also another working there helping a lot. I think her name was Brie. Thank you so much for making my sons birthday so fun and such a success. It was also very reasonably priced and worth it! ❤️❤️
Thank you, we had a great time at your party!
Negative experience: I would give negative reviews if I could We loved this place at first. But tonight, one of the teachers took punishment a bit too far for a 3 year old. Every single child in the class wasn’t listening, and yet it was only our child who was singled out. She (the teacher) was deliberately rude to her. My daughter did everything she was supposed to do, up to the point of the trampoline. And when it was Her turn on the trampoline, the instructor kept telling all the other kids to take their turn, then didn’t let her go, at all, even though one child wasn’t listening and wouldn’t get off for about 3 minutes, and no one said anything. Okay, not the biggest deal, but it made my daughter check out of the class all together, because she was listening, did everything right, and was punished for no reason. When they were on the bars, my daughter didn’t want to do them because her favorite part is the trampoline and foam pit, and she’s three, soooo.. The instructor put my child in time out, and I was a bit shocked. She kept yelling at her, picking her up and removing her from her seat and making her sit by her, etc. well, when they were about to jump in the foam pit, the teacher picked my child up and removed her from there, as a punishment for not doing the bars. I was upset but ready to take my daughter and leave for the night. THEN THIS WOMAN TOOK MY THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND PUT HER ON THE SIDE OF THE FOAM PIT TO MAKE HER WATCH THE OTHER KIDS GET TO JUMP MULTIPLE TIMES , when they normally only get to jump once. The teacher looked towards my daughter, while she was bawling her eyes out, and says to another child “want to jump again? Just go again” and that kid ran around and pushed the next child in line out of the way and jumped before her. AND THEN TOLD HIM TO GO AGAIN, even though he wasn’t listening. When we asked for our money back, to move her to a different place, because we were new and had no roots here, and didn’t care to stay, the front desk receptionist, she had to get the gym manager to explain that we have to lose out on money for a card fee. We were debating a different class, as the gym manager, or whoever she was, suggested. So when we were looking at the classes, this woman suggested we move her down a class, to toddler time, because she doesn’t listen. That’s when I got very aggravated. I said “no, I don’t think you’re understanding. The entire class wasn’t listening, and yet just our child was punished” and this girl said “well they are three and a lot didn’t listen” and continued to just blame my child, and not really grasp what was happening. It was very frustrating as they didn’t care. I’m not trying to sound entitled, but seriously, don’t teach toddlers/3 year olds, if you don’t know how to handle them. Oh also, most of the other parents suck, because they think their child is perfect, although their child also wasn’t listening tonight. Mine was just an easy target, because she’s new.
Negative experience: I had my 3 year old daughter in the 3s class. I am disappointed at how the situation was handled. She was pretty much tossed back to me, saying she can't stay in the class. I understand she has issues with listening, but how it was handled was not right either. I was told she needed to go back to toddler time but when I had her in there, I was told she needed to go to the 3s. I specifically had asked if she would be ok in that class since I was worried about this. If I was told to bring her back in a few minutes that's one thing, but to completely throw her out of the class is another thing. This was her second class. She didn't know there was a skills checklist, as she had started the class w a different instructor. She has not had the same teacher either. This was not fair. You guys were highly recommended, which is why we came. If I could give negative stars, I would.
We apologize for your experience. We are always trying to get the kids in the best place for them to learn and grow. Sometimes, we make mistakes. We don't think she is ready to be on her own yet and Toddler Time would be the most beneficial for her for a little while longer. This isn't that uncommon and our Toddler Time teacher did make a mistake. We refunded your money and we'll also give you a month of free tuition in Toddler Time if you will give us another shot. We do apologize and hope we can be a part of your daughters growth. Thank you for the feedback.
Positive experience: I like the people and the programming, but the building is not well-maintained.
