Negative experience: It’s closed on Christmas

Fantastic experience: It is very good, everything is special here, it is good that there is a bathroom, that too is clean. There are few attractions for children, their swings etc. are very few.

Positive experience: My child had a bulls nation basketball camp here and this is a well maintained and clean place. Restrooms are clean and the complex is big! They have a second floor that has a fitness center. The only reason I didn't give this facility a five star is because they don't have a sitting area in the lobby, for parents who are waiting on thie kids. But if they did, at least have benches in the hallways, I would have totally gave it a 5 star review. I've been to many facilities due to my child playing basketball and a lot of them have places for folks to sit while they wait.

Positive experience: Good place honestly. Me and my friend go there to play soccer quite often, $5 per day pass but the fields are usually quite busy. Must call in advance to make sure the fields will be free and not booked for that day and particular time.

Negative experience: You book them at night. Prepaid and all and they still turn off the pitch light. Unreliable

Positive experience: Equipment frequently damaged, but lots of equipment and variety of opportunities/programs for students, elderly, mothers, etc. Clean facility. Unfortunately, turf is always rented out.

Fantastic experience: We are hear most weeks for my sons volleyball, basketball or other activities. It is a great facility, clean well managed, and flexible for lots of activites. They are great supporters or WDSRA the local special recreation program and that is awesome. They have adapted to pandemic operations well.

Fantastic experience: This is a great community recreation center surrounded by a number of well maintained fields for soccer, baseball, and a play ground. Inside are areas for exercise machines, basketball, indoor field hockey and other activities. Definitely a gem of the Glen Ellyn Park District. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Have taken my grandkids to several different activities over the years, always had an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out. It’s a lot cleaner now than before - I wish it stays that way. And no masks! Masks are optional. I can’t wear a mask when I’m dead lifting heavy.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym with nice equipment and lots of floor space. Variety of free weights, cable machines, and plate loaded machines. Friendly staff and clean locker rooms as well.

Negative experience: The supposed manager was rude to me and my family for my child playing basketball. Will not be returning or ever spending any money here again.

Negative experience: They not ️ at all i called a combined 4 times to ask if turf was open and they said yes and now I drove 15 minutes and they said no it’s not open for the whole day

Negative experience: I was yelled at and singled out for not wearing my face mask properly here, even though countless other guests were not wearing a face mask at all. Extremely unprofessional staff and a poor experience overall.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go during a Chicago winter, especially for the running track and basketball courts. There are three courts, usually one is an open court. Lots of treadmills in different locations during Covid.

Negative experience: The gym is ok but they raised there price to 30 a month this gym is Maybe worth 20 cause they only have 3 squat racks and you always gotta wait for one. Some of the employees are annoying and the music here is trash you can go to a better gym for 30 bucks.

Negative experience: The old lady at the desk is so rude, i was disgusted after the treatment she gave me. In person and on the phone horrible, the worst part of this sports center and i am a member too.

Fantastic experience: Somehow a four or five year old review of mine was recently (and mistakenly) RE-posted. I'm only glad for the error so that I can rectify it and sing the praises of Ryan Miller, the current facility manager. Ever since he has taken this position he has done nothing but bend over backwards to be helpful, fair, hard working and attentive to all the programs at Ackerman. Even the positive attitude toward the Pickleball players trickles down from Ryan who does an outstanding job of communicating and advocating for us. Our Park District facility is such an important representation of our village as it's the first impression many out of towners get of Glen Ellyn. Ryan's competence, diplomacy and "can do" approach to problem solving definitely goes along way in leaving a positive impression on facility users whether out of town guests or in town regulars. Ryan has made Ackerman a better place to be! Thank you Ryan!

Fantastic experience: After trying several gyms we found one we love. It has something for everyone in the family. My kids love the turf, courts and rock climbing wall. My husband and I love the gym and track, everything is always clean!

Fantastic experience: Super clean gym, I played here for over 4 months now, my basketball gym shoes is still white on the bottom with no sign of wear. And yes, i dont just sit on the bench, I do play alot and runs alot, lol! Bathroom is very clean, staff is super friendly and I always see someone doing some type of cleaning at the gym. Prices is very reasonable also if you want to get a group together and rent a court.

Fantastic experience: Great pricing for what is offered. So far i am enjoying it. The service could be better though. The people are friendly enough but they aren't knowledgable behind the desk which is where most would go to ask questions. They misspelled my friends name but the girl didn't know how to correct it but assurred when we come back someone would be able to.. guess she was hoping we wouldnt get her again.. and when I came in for the first class I wanted to try, I immediately asked a girl behind the desk if she could direct me to where the classes are upstairs. She said she doesn't go upstairs... But anyway, clean and so far a good experience otherwise. Wont let a few nitpicky things bring my review down.

Negative experience: Really rude employees I’m tired of going there mean people when they are suppose to be friendly. I’m done going there and my friends too!

Janet is extremely rude and also the one other tall guy making there customers clean up when it should be them and also they be asking for id for residents and stuff I get the thing but they strive not to believe you. Just a bunch of rude people in that place!!!

I hope the times go a little longer like 5am to 11:30. Most gyms hours are ending around 11:15-11:30. The gym is over all great. The upstairs is clean and nice too. Let's get the timings a little longer Ackerman Fitness Center. Love the Gym. If yo guys could plz give me a feedback for my review

Positive experience: It seems like a nice facility. We've been going here for basketball games for my son's high school team and the place is nice and clean. If we look for a gym, this will be at the top of our list.

Positive experience: It's a good gym at an affordable price. While it's not the largest, your ration of machines to people is very high, I would guess 5:1 at most times of day, whereas Healthtrack is maybe 2:1 and way overcrowded. The basketball courts are nice. My only complaints are when there are park district events, it just gets so over run. Indoor tennis would be a plus but you can't win them all. The gym equipment is in nice shape. It's a bit too cold on the workout floor though - please turn up the heat a few degrees.
