Crunch Fitness - Beaverton: Opinions

Negative experience: Supposed to open at 7 am and yet again the place isn’t open. Has happened multiple times. Don’t expect this place to be open in the morning if you’re an early riser. Mgmt apparently doesn’t feel it’s their job to fix this and show up when their employees don’t.
Hi Gordon and thanks for your review. We are very sorry the club did not open on time, but we have reviewed the situation, and you can expect the club to be open on time moving forward. Thanks for being a member Gordon.
Negative experience: NEVER GET A CRUNCH MEMBERSHIP!! THEY CHARGED ME $50 WHEN I HAVENT HAD A MEMBERSHIP IN 3 YEARS!! THEY STEAL MONEY DO NOT GO TO CRUNCH!
Hi Tim and thanks for the review. The issue here is that you were speaking with corporate Crunch and not the local franchise here in Portland. Based on the notes we have in the computer; is you spoke with corporate on 9/7/22 about the cancellation process but you were never cancelled. We have gone ahead and cancelled your membership and will be refunding you the $49.99 which was your annual fee. So basically, you have been a member up till now and that's the reason for the charge. We have been in business way too long to ever try and as you put it, "steal" from anyone. We wish you luck in your future fitness endeavors Tim.
Negative experience: What an effing nightmare. It took them 6 months to correct my sons’ membership, overcharging every month. After month 3 of “yeah it’s taken care of” decided to cancel but took another 3 months to get accounting situated to be able to cancel. I will go out of my way to tell people NOT to use this brand. It’s 2024, people matter more than this…
Hi Derek and thanks for the review. First, we want to apologize for your getting the refund late. Unfortunately, we do make mistakes, and this one is completely on us. Second, we do appreciate your son having a membership with us and we do wish him great success in his future fitness endeavors.
Negative experience: Cancelling your membership is insanely difficult. The staff is rude and condescending. I would give negative stars if I could. 0/10 experience all around, don’t go here.
Hi Niki and thanks for the review. We're sorry you had to leave Crunch on a negative experience. We appreciate your being a member with us and wish you nothing but the best in your next fitness endeavor.
Fantastic experience: I really enjoy taking Zumba classes, especially with Aleeah. I love her teaching style and she is so friendly. I really appreciated the verbal cueing (as this is not typically commonplace in Zumba) and pronounced moves as these teaching techniques made the choreography easy to follow.
Hi Erica and thanks for the 5-Star review. We are so happy that you are enjoying Aleeah's Zumba classes! We also appreciate your being a member of Crunch. Thanks, again for the kind words Erica:)
Negative experience: Price is good but need significantly more platforms and less silly turf! They have the space but really could use more platforms in my opinion.
Hi Spencer and thanks for the review. We added the turf and 3 new platforms when we did our remodel last year, so we have 4. Currently we do not have any plans to add any more, but we certainly look at our layout and see if anything can be done next year. Thanks for being a member Spencer and thanks for the suggestion.
Negative experience: half the machines are in bad condition I had to share the pin you use to select the weight with someone working out on the next machine over because the one I was using didn’t have one nothing is very clean the stations with paper towels and spray bottles are often empty or broken and it’s absolutely impossible to cancel your membership. Had an employee tell me over the phone that I could cancel my membership via email and imagine my surprise a month after sending that email when I was charged $30 to my account and now I’m supposed to drive two hours to come cancel it in person
Hi Ryan and thanks for the review. With that said, we wanted to respond, not be defensive but be factual. First, we have over 40 machines, 70 pieces of cardio and tons of free weights. To say HALF of the machines are in bad shape is a misrepresentation. We may have a couple or so machines not working from time to time but that's a common occurrence with a club that is 13 years old. Second, if there was a pin missing, all you had to do was ask and we would have provided one for you. Third, we were just audited by Crunch corporate and received one of the highest marks for cleanliness. If something is not up to our standards or our members, we always encourage anyone to let us know. Finally, if you had read your agreement, it states that you must give us a 30-day notice and then your last payment will be charged as yours was. We thank you for your being a member and wish you luck in your future fitness endeavors.
Positive experience: This is a nice location (like it more than Aloha so, the longer drive is worth it). It is clean and spacious. I only go during off-peak hours to avoid the large crowds.
Hi Maria and thanks for the 4-Star review. Thanks for being a member and look forward to seeing you at the club:)
Positive experience: Pretty good gun for the price. But very bad cancellation policy. They make it very difficult to cancel.
Hi Roy and thanks for the review. Sorry to hear you had such a difficult time cancelling. Really all you had to do was come down to the club or send us a certified letter and you would have been cancelled. We do appreciate your being a member of Crunch Roy and wish you best in your future fitness endeavors.
Negative experience: Went to the aloha one for years. Had to cancel my membership because the high school kids have taken over the place. Has turned into a photo/video studio when they put up all of their tripods.
Hi David and thanks for the review. We appreciate your being a member with us and wish you good luck in your future endeavors.
Positive experience: Friendly staff, clean facilities, at a very reasonable price.
Hi Jason and thanks for the 4-Star review. We appreciate you being a member and we look forward to seeing you at Crunch. Thanks again for the kind review Jason:)
Fantastic experience: Just had to cancel my membership because I am moving out of state and the whole process was so easy. Typically I wouldn’t write a review, but Chris was super understanding, he made the process totally painless, and even helped check for new gyms in my area. On top of that, the facility was always clean, the desk people were always nice and helpful, and any classes I took were always really fun. Really sad to be leaving but thanks again for the time! You all rock.
Hi Keegan and thanks for the kind words. We're sorry to see you go but thanks for being a member and we wish you success in your future fitness endeavors. Thanks, again Keegan:)
Negative experience: I joined a closer gym and canceling this gym is a total nightmare. I had to go into the gym to fill out the quitting paperwork twice (it mysteriously didnt register the firat time) and they keep coming up with more charges I have to pay, despite having been assured when I closed my account that I had paid the full balance and my account was closed. Terrible experience. Stay away.
Hi Jeremy and thanks for the review. We are certainly sorry you had a final bad experience but, in your agreement, it states that you can cancel by going to the club or sending a certified letter. Anything we asked you to pay for was part of your membership. We appreciate you being a member and wish you luck in your future fitness endeavors.
Negative experience: Crunch failed to cancel my membership properly even after I cancelled in person 3 years later I was sent a collections notice.
Hi Neal and thanks for the review. We appreciated you being a member and unfortunately, we had no record of your cancelling, so you continued to be billed. Happy to give you some free time if you would like. Thanks again for being a member, Neal.
Negative experience: I have been a member of crunch for probably over 10 years. I've gone to many across different states. I've never been asked to take a photo. A few weeks ago I was approached by an employee at 5am that I needed to have a photo taken. I politely said at 5am I'm not prepared to do that. She is the only employee who has ever asked and she won't leave me alone. It's feeling like harassment at this point. At 5am, I just want to do my workout and be left alone. I understand policy, I'd be happy to take the photo at a different not 5am time. I'm thinking of getting a different gym membership at this point.
Hi Micah and thanks for the review. We appreciate your concern but for the safety of all our members and the club, we need a picture so that we know it is you. The picture is never shared as it is only for us. So when you get a chance at a different time, please have your picture taken and will be all set. Thanks for being a member, Micah.
Positive experience: Wish the staff here would take time to deep clean the machines. It's a little grimy. Machines are decent, but there are a few out of order for a while now.
Hi Amanda and thanks for the review. We appreciate the feedback and will make double sure the equipment is clean as it can be. Thanks, Amanada, for being a member.
Fantastic experience: I recently visited the Beaverton Crunch for a business trip for the week. First off, they were the only facility in my immediate area that offered a week pass to workout with, secondly my overall experience was excellent! The staff were helpful and happy to help me. Specifically, Zach and Keaylin (excuse my spelling errors ) were awesome! Thank you for providing a wonderful place to get my early mornin’ pump on!
Hi Devin and thanks for the kind words! We are so very happy that you enjoyed your visit and thanks for giving a shout out to our employees. Thans again Devin for the 5-Star review:)
Positive experience: Love this place. Went here for years. BUT I had one bad experience. Had a personal trainer approach me and give me advice. We even scheduled a workout and he showed me some things. However when I told him I didn't wish to pay for his services and continue.. the guy.. can't remember his name. Just a typical jocky guy white with black framed glasses said something to the effect of "well when you decide to level up in life".... Totally inappropriate.. and honestly disrespectful. Never forgot it.
Hi Taylor and thanks for the review. Knowing the personal trainers at Crunch, we can assure you that there was no disrespect. However, we can certainly understand why you felt that way and apologize for the misunderstanding. We appreciate you being a member all these years and look forward to seeing you at the club.
Fantastic experience: Only in town for a few days and the employees here, (bear with me on spelling) Kristina, Shyanne and Chris have been super patient and helpful. Great facility 10/10 recommend
Hi Laramie and thanks for the 5-Star review! We appreciate you taking the time to point out some of our employees. We look forward to seeing you again when your back in town:)
Negative experience: YOUR FITNESS MANGER CHRIS CLONCH TRIED TO SIZE ME UP AND INTIMIDATE ME THERE IS NOTHING TO BE MADE CLEAR . today at 4:17, i came in with a friend , who i signed up with here almost a year ago and we’ve been here many times and have never been asked to take a picture , the blonde let us walk in and screamed ladies once i was almost at the stairs and told me i had to take a picture, I asked a question because i’ve been coming here for a year and IVE NEVER BEEN TOLD I HAVE TO TAKE A PICTURE ,( im not sure why they’re response says that , )The male in his 50s with curly hair ( CHRIS CLONCH) interjected him self into the conversation i was having with the blonde and said i was arguing with him because i said i wasn’t comfortable taking a picture , i could’ve showed him my ID , he was super condescending and unprofessional in my opinion asked me if i have social media or an ID because i said i wasn’t comfortable taking a picture today, and told me i needed to take a picture of his safety and security( you are 6 of me added together ) . then proceeded I AM NOT WELCOME BACK AND if i wouldn’t take a picture right at that moment HIS CHOICE OF WORDS he “would charge me a $100 fee, for arguing with him “, ( I also feel like the response shows the how unprofessional , and how personally they take this job, it is your job to make things clear to me, it’s been almost a year and i’ve never seen this man or had this issue . including the blonde that stuck the camera in my face when i was asking a question. it’s absurd how both of these individuals were as old as my parents speaking to me as if they were teens , chris couch is married to the general manger Alison smith that’s why he takes it so personally , I FEEL AS IF THEY ARE DEFINITELY TRYING MAKE THINGS DIFFICULT TO GET MONEY OUT OF PEOPLE I AVIOD THIS GYM BC CHRIS COUCH AND ALISON SMITH ARE THE MANAGERS ARE THEY ARE MARRIED . HE WOULD ALSO BE THE SAME PERSON WHO REPLIES TO ALL THE REVIEWS .
Hi Elizabeth and thanks for the review. Just to be clear, we have asked you many times to have your picture taken including when you first signed up. It is Crunch's policy that every member takes a picture both for the members security and the clubs. As for the $100 you mention. That is the fee we charge if you cancel early from your one year commitment. So you were simply being told that if you won't take your picture, which by the way is only seen by the staff member who is checking you in, then you would have to cancel and pay the $100. So we are more then happy to take your picture and move forward but that is certainly up to you. Thanks for being a member Elizabeth.
Fantastic experience: Chris and the rest of the team members are awesome! Facilities were just renovated and everything looks great. A great place for your workout !
Hi Zuri and thanks for the kind review. We appreciate you being a member and look forward to seeing you at the club. Will let Chris and the Team know their doing great work. Thanks again Zuri:)
Negative experience: The lady at the front desk is very unprofessional and impatient, and she charged my card without my consent. I wanted to join your membership today, but I cancelled the plan due to this lady's discriminatory expression。From 1-11-2024 you are a scammer because I did not agree to join your membership. You deducted 0.24 US dollars from my account. I went to see the manager today to tell him that your receptionist deducted my money without me joining. I just hope you apologize. But I didn't expect your attitude to be even worse. You scolded me when I left. Because the receptionist showed me disrespect two days ago, I ultimately decided not to join the membership. However, as you know, my bank account number deducted my money, which is not much, but you do not have the right to deduct my money without my consent. And you have always believed that you are right. Arrogant and overbearing attitude。As a manager, you didn't solve the problem. When I was dissatisfied and threw a coin on the ground, you scolded me. You didn't deserve to be a qualified manager. The gyms around you had high ratings, but you had low ratings. This is also caused by a manager like you. I feel sorry for your boss. I sent a separate message today about the manager's attitude, but you deleted it. I can't see it on Google anymore, sad manager.
Hi Eric. This is one of two reviews you have given us with a 1 star both at Beaverton and Division. Funny as you were never at our Division location. Anyway, we explained the membership to you many times and yet you were insistent on not wanting to do as we explained. Then you did sign up. However, today you came into Beaverton and not only were you rude but then you threw a quarter at our window as you walked out. We have cancelled your membership and frankly are happy that we don't have to put up with your behavior. Good luck to you in your fitness endeavors.
Positive experience: Clean, safe, covered parking. Lots of open squat racks way better than division and Vancouver location
Hi Christy and thanks for the 4-Star review. We appreciate you being a member and are happy that you are enjoying Crunch. Thanks again for the kind review.
Fantastic experience: A great gym, chill atmosphere and even when it's busy it's manageable. Can't beat it for $10/month.
Hi Emily and thanks for the 5-Star review! We appreciate you being a member and are so happy that you are enjoying Crunch. Thans again for the kind words Emily:)
Fantastic experience: Great gym to go in and work out at for cheap. Plenty of good enough equipment and 5 total squat racks so I almost never wait in line for one to open up. I've had a great time training with Joe for well over a year now, and he's been a top tier trainer. Good conversationalist, knows a lot of workouts and has good anatomy knowledge to back up why we do those workouts, and he helped me fix some bad habits and technique before I severely injured myself.
Hi Yaroslav and thanks for the 5-Star review. We're glad to see that Joe has taken good care of you and we appreciate your being a member. We look forward to seeing you at the club Yaroslav and thanks again for the kind review:)
Negative experience: Office is a joke, tried cancelling the membership via email, and phone due to me having to move for work. They will not cancel a membership if you do not go in person which I didn't have the ability to do because I moved cross country which I explained and they pretty much said "welp we can't help you". It is 2023 and things like this should be able to be done electronically. Then they sent my $24.95 TO COLLECTIONS
Hi John and thanks for the review. As per your agreement, you can send us a cancellation by mail. We need to have your signature in writing and that is why we can't do it by email. We will take you out of collections right away but please send us the letter. Thaks for being a member John and good luck in your future fitness activities.
Negative experience: Update: 03/20 and this gym still don’t have an abduction machine. Also, Some pads are broken and they put tape on it instead of buying new ones. It’s very frustrating! I’ve decided to go to Planet Fitness due to lack of consideration for members who pay to use the gym. They renovated the gym, but a lot of the equipments are still old. They don’t have an abduction machine (it’s been like this for almost 4 months now) and whenever a machine breaks, it takes 1-2 months to get it fixed. Free weights are great, but don’t have a lot of expectations about the machines to lift weight.
Hi Carolina and thanks for the review. We understand your frustration as we are too because of how long it takes to get parts. No excuses though because we want all of our equipment working so all our members can get the best workout. We are on top of it. As for the Abductor machine, will keep you posted on that at the club. Thanks for being a member Carolina and we appreciate your feedback.
Positive experience: Compared to what I was used to, this was indeed upscale. The gym equipment is safe and easy to use. They have instructors on standby ready to assist you. I felt safe here. Definitely my gym of choice!
Hi Theophilus and thanks for the 4-Star review. We appreciate your being a member of Crunch and look forward to seeing you at the club. Thanks again Theophilus:)
Positive experience: The Zumba class is fun. The instructor is very professional.
Hi Wai and thanks so much for the 4-Star review! We are so happy that you are enjoying the Zumba classes, and we appreciate you being a member. Thanks again Wai:)
Negative experience: Don't fall in love with machines, they break and they won't ever come back, just think it can be better
Hi Irvin and thanks for the review. We are assuming you are talking about the Abductor machine being gone. Well, we have a new one coming soon but if there is something else, please let us know. We appreciate you being a member Irvin.
Fantastic experience: only went for a one day trial, the staff were super friendly and helpful. the area was clean and they had many options in machines, though they didn’t have a hip thrust machine that I saw (or the pads for the bar). maybe you have to ask? kept at a nice temperature and very comfortable environment :)
Hi Victoria and thanks for the kind review. Thanks for trying Crunch out and hopefully based on your review, will see you again and yes, we do have the pads for hip thrusts. Thanks again Victoria:)
Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Crunch for more than a year now, and I love it! Not long after joining, I had two chronic injuries I was struggling with and was planning to take a break for healing. Alison stepped in and offered a free session with her to suggest some techniques to prompt recovery. I enjoyed the session with her so much that I signed up for personal training with her, and I have learned so much! She's been patient and informative throughout the process, always making sure that my form was safe, productive and helping me to gain strength and resolve the chronic issues. The gym and locker room are always clean, and both equipment and parking has always been easily available. The new remodel makes the space even more fresh and inviting and the new equipment is great as well!
Hi Anne and thanks for the kind review. We appreciate you being a member and are so happy that you're enjoying your membership. Thanks also for your kind words about Alison as she is one who loves to help and is very knowledgeable. Thanks again for the review Anne and we look forward to seeing you at Crunch:)
Fantastic experience: Five years ago I broke my leg in multiple places. I was grateful for occupational therapy, physical therapy, and a wheelchair for nearly a year. I had accepted my limitations and thought my ability to move each day was as good as it could get. Nope. I joined Crunch six months ago and started working with Stephanie, my trainer, two times a week. She has helped me progress beyond what I thought was possible for my 60-plus-year-old body. I am more fit now than I’ve been in the last couple decades, even before my accident! Daily routines of showering and dressing used to be limited by my inability to lift my leg; I’d have to sit down to dress or stoop to properly shower. Now, my hips and core muscles are strong. I can lift my leg, easily dress, and recover my balance on uneven ground. I used to avoid getting down on the ground; now, I easily move from the ground to an upright position. I can play with my active grandchildren! I look forward to each day I visit Crunch. The staff welcomes me into the building and says goodbye to me as I leave. For a lot of us, this is the only positive interaction we may receive in a day, right? Stephanie, my trainer, entertains me with laughter and genuine care. She is the reason I am thriving in this once broken-down body. I am stronger, happier, and more mobile than I’ve been in years. Stephanie knows how to push me gently but insistently. She makes each session fun with new routines, and she is an expert in guiding me into the proper positions for each exercise. The best part is that she is teaching me how to care for myself in the years to come. I relish her motivation and will continue to be her client for many years to come. All of us need to take care of ourselves in this stressful world. I encourage everyone to check out Crunch and reward yourself. We’re worth it!
Hi Coleen and thanks for the very kind review. It is so great to hear your story and the great progress you have made. We're very proud of your accomplishments. As for Stephanie, we all are very lucky to have such a wonderful trainer working for Crunch, as she has been nothing short of sensational over the 9 years that she has been with us. We look forward to your continued journey Coleen and thanks so much for being a member:)
Negative experience: Hotel california of gyms. If you want to get out of your contract, you have to involve your State Attorney General’s office. Otherwise Crunch will just ignore you and send you to a collections agency. Don’t get involved, it’s a mismanaged, money grubbing company that only wants to screw you over. Stay away.
Thanks for the review, Brandon. We are sorry you have had to go through all of this but if your wife had cancelled per her agreement, in person or certified letter, none of this would have happened. We love our members and would never Igor them. We have refunded the money requested and taken her out of collection. We appreciate your concern, but all should be fine now. Please thank your wife for being a member.
Negative experience: Eek. Don’t bother joining this gym. I already informed the manager that I wanted to cancel my membership, and she said that I need to cancel in person or write a letter, so I wrote a cancellation letter last month and sent it. Today I asked if they received the cancellation letter and she said to send another cancellation letter. Ridiculous.
Hi Monica and thanks for the 5-Star review! We appreciate you being a member and look forward to seeing you at the club:)
Fantastic experience: A wonderful place to enjoy YOGA and other classes with wonderful instructors - Nicole, Moon, Kristin, Erin, and male substitute (forgot his name), also the exercise equipment is good and there are plenty of them. The front desk is very friendly, they are much nicer than the front desk before the Covid pandemic!
Hi TheEarth011 and thanks for the kind 5-Star review. We are very happy that you are enjoying the club and especially our classes! Thanks again for the kind review and will see you at the club:)
Fantastic experience: Plenty of equipment for a large crowd and super friendly staff. In fact, I forgot my case/charger for my earbuds and staff walked me over to treadmill to recover it. Super pleasant for working out alone or with a friend
Love to hear this, Josue! Thanks for the review and hurry back to Crunch!
Fantastic experience: I just joined last month, I did the "pay for a year up front" plan to keep myself from avoiding the gym month after month - I LOVE CRUNCH! They have AMAZING classes that keep me going day after day, and the staff is very friendly (not intimidating at all!). I highly suggest joining this gym - you won't regret it!
Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I left 24 hr Fitness and in comparison, well, there is no comparison! Crunch Gym is top of the line in the following areas: 1) Clean and well maintained floors, equipment, locker room and showers - did I mention it is CLEAN! 2) Zumba classes 6-7 times a week, and often twice in one day, to accommodate a larger group of people. Great instructors. 3) The class instruction for yoga is at a high level - teacher knows safety and flow of correct movements and body alignment...she isn't making it up to look like yoga (safety) 4) NEW EQUIPMENT - TRX cables for a full class (not just for people buying a personal trainer session), treadmill, elliptical, running, cycling and more machines to hold classes...other comments mentioned that there weren't enough machines, which is probably the 5-7PM afterwork rush...there are so many machines available throughout the day. 5) WOMEN FRIENDLY machines for weights - this is a big difference with older gyms, the machines are ergonomically designed and women can use them without lifting off 100 lb weights after someone else has used it and forgot to take the weights off. The ab machines come in two sized, one is slightly smaller so that women can get the benefit of the workout. 6) People at the gym are friendly...the staff, the members...it is a very supportive environment, non competitive. 7) For $9.95 month, it is the best fitness value in town. If you don't go for awhile, you paid the same amount as 2-3 cups of coffee. 8) You may not have a pool, sauna, or hot tub but then again, you you don't have to pay to upgrade to go to another franchised gym at $39.95 month or more along with your regular gym. 9) Ventilation is great for the large facility and all the people, unlike my last gym. 10) The newer, better equipment is not only in a small area for personal training, we all get to use it and learn the new techniques. 11) Parking close the the gym, during rush hour times, aren't as available, but there is more than enough parking in the shopping center parking...people just don't want to walk a few spaces more. One more thing about rush hour membership being a full gym, go to 24 hour fitness at the same time and you will have the exact same problem, except it will be humid, cramped and dirty and very noisy with the same issues of parking. I highly recommend Crunch gym in Beaverton. My neighbors recommended it to me and I am so glad that I joined and gave up my 24 hour - 1 gym club membership of $29.99 month...I haven't looked back.
Positive experience: I've been with this gym off and on for the past 5 years and I always love it. Super nice people, great trainers, and good atmosphere!
Hi Richard and thanks for the kind review. Thanks so much for being a member for such a long time. We're going to be updating our club very soon and you will be hopefully even more pleased when you see the final results. Thanks again for being a member Richard:)
Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff and so much equipment cardio weights everything you need and very clean. I’ve worked out in several gyms in the area and I’m impressed with value they bring at crunch!
Hi Joanna and thanks for the kind review. We appreciate you being a member at Crunch, and we will continue to provide you with the best experience possible. Thanks again Joanna:)
Negative experience: If you want to cancel your membership you have to go into the business and file a form, apparently the 15 minute process online doesn’t actually do anything? Luckily enough the lady that “gets those and processes them” was in today and we informed her there was never any contact made via text, email, or call and with that we’ve been paying since May 2022. Good job guys ….Hope we still get that refund
Hi David and thanks for the review. Sorry to hear that you have had a hard time cancelling. With that said, per your agreement, you can cancel either at the club or by sending in a certified letter. Not sure where you might have sent the text or email, but we did not receive it at the club and that is why you were never cancelled. Thanks for being a member and hopefully the 1 star was just for the trouble of cancelling and not how you may have enjoyed your experience working out with us at Crunch.
Fantastic experience: We're visiting from out of town and did a trial membership. Staff were very friendly and helpful, gym is spacious and clean. If we lived in the area we would sign up for a membership. Great experience.
Hi Sophia and thanks for the kind review. If you ever do move to Beaverton, will be here for you:) Thanks again Sophia.
Negative experience: Nearly four weeks ago I attempted to cancel my gym membership via the instructions on the Crunch Fitness website. I filled out the information/contact fields and indicated why I was canceling. The website told me someone would be in contact within 1-2 days. I never received a follow-up email or call to confirm my membership has been canceled. I first called the Beaverton location on Tuesday, July 5th and was told the online cancellation method does not work for memberships for the Beaverton location despite this not being stated on the website form and the Beaverton location being an option on the form implying this was a viable method which is false. I was advised by the employee to send an email directly to the Beaverton location front desk (including name, phone number, and picture of signature) with the implication that this email would cancel my membership. I checked my credit card statement on Saturday, July 9th and saw I was charged for membership from Crunch Fitness. I have been calling for a week with no follow-up and have been actively trying to cancel this membership for a month. The barriers and hoops Crunch Fitness forces a member to jump over in order to cancel a $9.95/month membership is ludicrous. No company should force a member to devote this much time to a task as simple as a cancelation. This approach to cancellation for members of the Beaverton location needs to be DRAMATICALLY improved as soon as possible. As of 7:48AM Tuesday, July 12th I am still waiting for a response and confirmation my membership has been canceled. Also, I am not in a contract with the gym so there is no reason they can’t cancel my membership upon request and my assistance. RESPONSE TO OWNER 07/13/2022: If upper management is going to require members to come into the location or write a certified letter, then why is there a cancellation form to fill out for the Beaverton location on the website? Furthermore, why does the form state that an employee/representative will contact as a response? I never received contact via email or phone call despite providing both these forms of contact. I filled out that form on Saturday, June 11th. It took me calling the location on Tuesday, July 5th to learn that my request hadn't been processed at all. I was told by the employee who answered to send an email, NOT a certified letter, with the materials I listed above in my initial post. It was heavily implied this is all that was needed from me. I provided the email to cancel my membership before 8AM (PST) on Tuesday, July 5th right after my call. I followed up on Saturday, July 9th and was told by a second front desk employee to talk to a manager for help with this. They told me to call Monday afternoon. I again was NOT told to come in or write a certified letter to fix this. Therefore, those are two different employees telling me to approach this two different ways and neither is the way you have detailed in your response. Finally, I called Monday afternoon and a manager was NOT available. I gave my number and asked for a simple call back when they came in. No one called. I emailed again Tuesday, July 12th before 8AM (PST) depicting the above details and by 4PM I still had NOT gotten a response. I finally went to the Beaverton location after work and filled out the cancellation form and gave a signed letter reiterating I wanted this canceled. What is LAUGHABLE is the front desk employee had read my email and told me they were SURPRISED my account had not been flagged for pending cancellation. Wow. FINALLY, at nearly 6PM (PST) on Tuesday, July 12th I got a call from a manager who asked me to come in or provide a letter. I told the manager that I had already dropped off a signed letter and filled out the form 2 hours earlier.... The fact that you do not see the breakdown in your practices with cancellation for members of the Beaverton location is SHAMEFUL. We have all grown up in capitalism, so I think the average client can deduce when upper management has not evolved and failed the client. Fix your cancellation practices.
Hi Lauren and thanks for the review. We are sorry that you have had issues cancelling your membership, but we have taken care of that and are reversing your charge that you received. Please note that in your agreement it says that the way to cancel your membership is either to come down to the club or send us a certified letter. The on-line website is just for information and cancels need to go through the club you joined so that we can have your signature on file. Thanks for being a member Lauren and best wishes on your future fitness endeavors.
Negative experience: Free weights are crowded at any hour and the gym is dirty. The personal trainers will kick you off the equipment whenever they feel like it.
Hi Jason and thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear the club has not been up to your standards. What we can tell you is that cleanliness is number1 priority at Crunch. Can you be a little more specific as to what you are referring to so we can make sure were all over it. As for the personal trainers, we do have a policy that they do get priority. With that said though, they will always wait till your done with your set. We appreciate you being a member, Jason.
Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in Personal Training. I have been training with Matt Antinucci there for several months and I can't tell you what a huge (and rapid) impact his workouts have had on my fitness goals and physique. I had a baby 2020 and I felt so out of shape and unhappy with my postpartum body. I did not feel motivated to workout at all and had NO clue where to even start in the gym. When I signed up for Crunch they offered a free workout with a personal trainer and I thought, "Why not try it? It's free". After the free session I instantly wanted to sign up for more because I could tell that this would help me gain the structure and motivation I needed to get back into shape. Fast forward about 4 months, not only have I lost all my "baby weight" I have gained muscle and stamina I never had before. Matt really knows his stuff and genuinely cares about his clients. He listens to all of my concerns (and complaints) and actively tailors his workouts to accommodate any new goals I have. If I am having an "off" day he helps keep me motivated without pushing me to the point where I want to quit. Working out with Matt has been fun, challenging and so rewarding. I can't believe how much better my body looks and feels in only a few months of working out with a trainer. I could not reach these goals without him. Thank you so much Matt!
Hi Rachel and thanks for the review. We are so excited about your fitness journey Rachel and will let Matt know that you're enjoying his routine. Thanks for being a member Rachel and we look forward to your continuing journey and reaching your goals:)
Fantastic experience: Great gym and Joe is the BEST personal trainer. Seriously the best decision I have made for myself. After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit concerned about the equipment being an issue or cleanliness. But, I decided to go in and see for myself and the gym is in great condition. I have had no concerns over cleanliness or equipment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is good and it is a great experience. Highly recommend. Also double highly recommend Joe for personal training. Life changing.
Hi Kris and thanks so much for the kind words! We appreciate you being a member and we will let Joe know that he's making a difference in your life. We look forward to seeing you at the club Kris and thanks for being a member:)
Fantastic experience: it’s a huge gym! there’s a lot of equipment. crunch will always have a special place in my heart because it’s the gym I went to when I first started lifting ❤️ the music is always a hit or miss, depending on the staff BUT then again 99% of the people are using earphones so it’s not a big deal. I had to leave because I live farther now. All in all, it’s a good gym!
Hi Jerica and thanks for the 5-star review. We appreciate you having been a member over the past few years, and we wish you luck in your future fitness endeavors:)
Negative experience: If you value honesty and professionalism, DO NOT sign up or purchase anything here. 1 star only because they technically do function as a gym to anyone with an active subscription. I signed up for basic membership, personal training, bought products, the whole 9 yards. After a few months of training I wanted to cut back my spending and cancel, but keep my basic membership. It took literal WEEKS of me coming in, in person, to hound them about canceling my training before someone finally and reluctantly canceled it, saying they might get in trouble for doing so. That is insane, and I was still charged another month after I put in the cancellation request. I was so demoralized that I just used the training rather than trying to get a refund, and I suspect I never would have. Fast forward to last month. I needed to cancel my membership because I was moving. This is my first, and last, experience with a gym contract, never again! What a ridiculous way to conduct business for a GYM, I can't believe these places are still in business. It has not been a full year so I was initially told I could either pay $100 cancellation fee or $40 over the course of the next few months to finish out my contract before coming in IN PERSON to cancel my membership...after I moved across town and it would be massively inconvenient. I went home, re-read my contract, found that I met the "move more than 25 miles" stipulation for early termination, WENT BACK in person to get my membership canceled after doing all the work, and was told that I shouldn't have that exception in my basic contract. Okaaaay. I told them, whatever, I do, and I want to exercise it. I was told that we could do an immediate cancellation so I wouldn't have to come back in after I moved, even though I would not be able to use the remainder of my membership for the month, because it would be immediate. Whatever, I was far from happy but just wanted to be done with this place already and had a move to plan and prepare for and needed one less thing on my plate. After all that, what do I wake up to this morning? A charge for my membership. So much for canceling it, now I have to go back and hound them until it is ACTUALLY canceled, and then force a refund. This place is frustrating, dishonest, and utterly unprofessional. Buyer beware. EDIT I appreciate the response, but to be perfectly clear I was never refunded for my PT earlier this year, so as I stated I ended up simply using it rather than going through the hassle of attempting to get it back. I know the contract says cancel in person or with a letter, but seriously that's so antiquated. It's 2022, enter the current century and offer a digital option. Besides which, the real issue is that I had (and still have) zero confidence that in person cancellation even works, since I had to come in multiple days over multiple weeks to finally get my PT canceled, to say nothing of a refund, and apparently the same is true with my basic membership even though I was told it was an immediate cancel. When I am told to my face "your membership is canceled and you won't be charged again" and then see a membership charge 3 WEEKS later, with no warning and no explanation, there is no word other than dishonest that applies from a customer perspective.
Hi Fox Briskey and thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear your frustration but let's review your thoughts. First, we refunded your PT and cancelled your PT in January per your request. Your Base membership you have for $9.99 is an annual membership that has a $100 early cancel fee that you knew about at the beginning of your membership. Also, the way to cancel your membership as it says in your agreement is to either come down in person or write us a certified letter. Very sorry you had to drive across town but all you needed to do was right us a letter. We have been here in the Portland market now for over 12 years. While we are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, we neither are dishonest or unprofessional because if we were, we wouldn't have thousands of members. Now with all this said, we have cancelled your membership and will refund you any money owed. Thanks for being a member.
Positive experience: Pros: Good amount of lifting machines Staff is very friendly Good sized locker rooms Lots of class options for free Cons: There are MANY bikes, stair machines, and ellipticals that are broken but not repaired/no sign placed for months. Sucks hopping on 3 machines in a row and they’re all broken. Some classes are extremely loud and bother patrons who are not in the classes. This includes the classes held at the cardio equipment, and in the separate room for classes. They don’t allow any bags with you whatsoever, which is frustrating for folks who want to bring resistance bands with them.
Hi Stacey and thanks for the review. We understand your frustration and we are working diligently with our suppliers to get the parts so that we can in fact fix the machines. We have received parts recently and have fixed most of the equipment that was down. We appreciate you being a member and will make sure that you have a gym with great equipment. As for the bag situation. It's a tripping hazard where we have had members fall over and hurt themselves so that is why we have that rule. Thanks again for the review Stacey.
Negative experience: The gym is affordable and the staff is very helpful but there are SO MANY broken machines. I may go to my old gym (which is twice the premium monthly fees) just so I can have some properly functioning equipment. Also, I strongly believe they need to do some deeper cleaning.
Hi Zerx and thanks for the review. We understand your frustration and we are working diligently with our suppliers to get the parts so that we can in fact fix the machines. We have received parts recently and have fixed most of the equipment that was down. We appreciate you being a member and will make sure that you have a gym with great equipment.
Fantastic experience: Work out here 3 times per week. Always clean, staff is helpful and the environment is amazing
Hi Rick and thanks for the kind review! We appreciate you being a member of Crunch and we look forward to seeing you at the club:)
Positive experience: I have experience with a few other gyms, and I definitely prefer crunch over any others. Huge array of free weights, machines, cardio, open space, calisthenics/MMA areas, open floor for yoga. It really has everything. Only problem is you're supposed to clean equipment after using it, and more often than not the cleaner/paper towels are out and staff rarely restock them unless reminded constantly.

Hi Wihelm The Second. Thanks for the review and we're sure glad you're enjoying your club experience so far. Thanks for the reminder on the paper towels. Will make sure there kept stocked. We appreciate you being a member and look forward to seeing you at the club:)
Positive experience: Good Price. Friendly Staff. I enjoy the atmosphere of crunch a lot. It would be nice if they had a few more bench presses in the facility but overall it’s been a very solid gym for me and always gets the job done.
Hi Zachary and thanks for the review. We appreciate you being a member and also for the kind words. Thanks again Zachary:)
Negative experience: New to the city and state. Was looking to workout for the day. Ya’ll definitely live up to the rumors and set the bar on rudeness. :) Walking in, I was immediately shouted at by I think one or two men about a mask (ok I understand everywhere is different - believe it or not, relax) put mine on no issue, and checked in - girl that checked me in was incredibly nice, seemed to be the only professional one around. Then as I walked up stairs to see the rest of the gym, a disgruntled, overweight, Gallagher looking-man approached me with incredibly inviting eyes and dirty looks, as soon as I turned my head I saw the ONE sign that said no gym bags on the floor. Rudely he made a snarky comment about the sign being “posted everywhere” and turned to walk away. He may have forgotten while it’s a gym, people skills are still required. I wouldn’t recommend this particular location to new people, I used to love Crunch, but I will absolutely be taking my business elsewhere :) thank you for not allowing me to waste money.
Hi Kira and thanks for the review. First, we certainly apologize for your experience with us not being up to our standard. We take great pride in giving the best possible customer care and obviously we fell well short here. Second, we have very few rules here at Crunch but the two we do have just happened to affect your visit. We would certainly like to give you a second try by offering you a two week pass but if not, we certainly wish you the best in your fitness endeavors. Thanks again Kira.
Fantastic experience: Staff and trainers are extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. I always feel very comfortable when I go to work out at Crunch. I would highly recommend this gym.
Hi Jackie and thanks for the kind words! We're glad you're enjoying your sessions with our trainer and hope your fitness goals are coming along. Thanks for being a member and look forward to seeing you at Crunch:)
Fantastic experience: Crunch is a great gym and for only 10 a month, you get lots of bang for your buck especially if you go regularly. The employees are nice and helpful and I always have a good workout.
Hey Abigail, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. See you next time!
Fantastic experience: This Thanksgiving I am so thankful for the support from my personal trainer Dillon! My husband and I are seeing amazing results from his expert guidance to get us back on track post lockdown. Thanks to Dillon and Crunch for helping us meet and exceed our wellness goals!
Fantastic experience: This is an amazing gym with plenty to offer. There is an area for powerlifting, a separate area for general weightlifting, a large cardio equipment section, and a separate dance studio/stretching room. The ample space is amazing, especially during this COVID pandemic, since I never feel like I'm too close to someone else while exercising. The staff are always very respectful and genuinely care about their gym-goers. I'm super appreciative of their hard work! The pricing is extremely low considering how much this place has to offer ($10-$20 per month). Out of all the gyms I've been to, this is one of my favorites and I'm sure I'll have fond memories here. I'd highly recommend this gym!
Fantastic experience: After not working out for quite sometime I was nervous about entering the gym scene again. The front desk receptionist was very patient and kind and took a lot of time with me to find the perfect membership package. The rest of the staff has been very helpful as well. I saw a machine I had never used before and asked the woman using it to show me how. She was very kind and helpful. They really do breed a community of support and no judgements. My only wish is that their hours were a little later at night to give me a little more time to workout.
Hey Elizabeth, welcome back! We're so happy you're comfortable at our gym and we can't wait to make some new, exciting, sweaty memories with you this summer!
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Crunch Fitness as well as the staff , they are very positive and friendly. It is a very clean facility, sanitized and they check your temperature on Entry. I appreciate the personal trainers as they ensure that you are performing the exercises correctly. The trainers are very skilled in their field and give you the motivation and determination needed to keep moving forward! Love this place!
Hey Katherine, thanks for taking the time to review! We appreciate the feedback and look forward to your next visit!
Fantastic experience: I really appreciate Crunch Fitness in Beaverton. When they say "no judgements," they mean it! It is the most welcoming gym I've ever joined. And, the personal trainers are the best.
Fantastic experience: I’ve tried many other gyms in the area, none were clean or comfortable. Had some creepy experiences at some, as well as some huge red flags in terms of cleanliness. Crunch is absolutely perfect. Felt comfortable from the day I came in to try a class. Brought my mother in law who was visiting in for a workout with me, and I stopped at the front to sign up for an extra class. As I did so, a worker sat down next to my mother in law and instantly made friends with her. She left commenting on how “she loves Oregon because everyone is so kind”. Crunch has the widest variety of clientele, truly is a no judgement place, and has the most downright awesome, positive, and fun environment I could imagine. I’d recommend this to anyone. Great setup for Olympic lifts, as well. As a side note, the prices are unbeatable!
Hi Julia, the Crunch team is happy to hear you had such a wonderful experience! We’re so glad you're enjoying your workouts with us. Thank you so much for being a valued member, we really appreciate it and we hope to work out with you again soon!
Fantastic experience: I've been coming to this location for years: the gym is good sized, usually not too crowded, and has various areas to accommodate different types of workouts. The windows upstairs provide great natural light in the morning and nice views outside during your workout. The equipment is nice, the place is clean, and the staff have always been pleasant.
Love to hear this, David! Thanks for the review and hurry back to Crunch!
Fantastic experience: Spacious, clean, and loads of options for workouts. I’m just getting back into working out in a gym and recently hired personal trainer Stephanie. Giving five stars because, on her own vacation time a week before we are scheduled to begin, Stephanie thoughtfully sent me a positive and motivating text - it worked! I went to the gym on my own several times despite my own initial discomfort.
WOW! That was a GREAT review Melissa. Thanks so much for choosing CRUNCH!
Fantastic experience: Equipment always seems to be working. Locker room's are maintained very clean. All the staff is friendly and they have a great selection of gym equipment.
Hey Edgar! We are thrilled to have you as part of the #CrunchFam! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our entire team! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic experience: I just transferred here from the Aloha Crunch Gym. This location is on two floors. I use the cardio equipment and the circuit machines on the 2nd floor. The gym is immaculately clean and the staff people are pleasant and helpful. The equipment here is newer and in better shape, too.
Love to hear this, Regina! Thanks for the review and hurry back to Crunch!
Negative experience: Crunch is one of my favorite places to work out. Reason why I like it so much because they have the bumper plate weights. People go in there and want to work out. It's not standing around. Talking about your workout. The Beaverton crunch there's the guy there named Joe rudis guy I've ever met. I forgot my goggles to go tanning and this guy embarrassed me in front of My wife because I forgot my wallet. He wouldn't give me $3 a pair of goggles you can go to crunch. Just don't go to the beavers in location. Those guys are something else there
Hi Benjamin and thanks for the review. First thanks so much for being a member of Crunch. Second we're sorry that you had a bad experience at our Beaverton location. We do require goggles per the state requirement at all our clubs so Joe was just trying to help by offering a free par of Wink-Ease since you didn't have your goggles. Sorry if it came across as rude but be assured that all our staff at Beaverton are very courteous to all our members and guests. We would encourage you to go back to Beaverton when your in the area so that we could show you. Thanks again for being a member Benjamin.
Negative experience: The employees are awesome. This has been my gym for a long time and I don't think I'll switch but I really wish the cleanliness was taken more seriously. The machines and floor are extremely and constantly dusty and the locker room sinks are also consistently broken. Please fix this? Can we keep things cleaner?
Thanks for the review Black Flag. First we appreciate you being a member all these years. Second we are all over your concerns and will make sure that we keep our clubs the cleanest in the industry!
Positive experience: Good price, nice locker rooms, cool atmosphere. Way better than 24 hour or Aloha locations. Only one squat rack though.
Thanks for the kind words Ethan and very happy that your enjoying your membership with us so far!
Positive experience: Appreciate that I can come with my son who has a membership for a free week trial. He likes the free weights and they have lots. Lots of stair machines, tread mills and such. I was able to use the weight machines without waiting. Seems geared to guys mostly. Lots of TV's with sports on. May consider getting a trainer to help with exercises that help get rid of menopausal back, belly, muffin top fat.
Hey Prashama, thanks for taking the time to review! We're thrilled you're enjoying your workouts with us and we look forward to your next visit!
Positive experience: I have been a member of Crunch Fitness for over 5 years now and I have had nothing but success with them. I enjoy the atmosphere of inclusion and no judgement and that everyone feels welcome. They are serious about fitness and I enjoy being part of that.
Thanks Rachael! Please email us at [email protected] and let us know how we can get those 5 stars!
Fantastic experience: The Beaverton location is awesome, friendly staff always there to assist you and very clean location. I would recommend Crunch Fitness to everyone.
Thanks for the review, Udyog. We think you're awesome too!
Positive experience: The gym is clean and well maintained. People are respectful and doing their own thing. No pushy sales people. Only negative is that it is crowded and so you have to sometimes find equipment you wouldn't normally use to get your workout in.
Hey Jeff, thanks for taking the time to review! We appreciate the feedback and look forward to your next visit!
Negative experience: Kiddy hangout. Machines being held up for texting, and selfies. Ask someone to put their phone down, or work...while waiting on that machine, the staff won't like it, if that person plays victim about it. Towel dispensers empty, spray bottles broken, or empty....no one wipes down equipment. Weight plates scattered all over floor. Been going here about a decade. Really going downhill quickly. After reading all of these positive reviews before mine about cleanliness, top-level equipment, I figure these people must be talking about a different gym, or paid off. I hear alot of people complaining about the atmosphere, and regretting their memberships while I work out. Back in the day, this gym was wonderful.
Hi Craig and thanks for the review. First thanks for being a member all these years! Second very sorry to hear of some of your issues with the club currently. We are asking members that when they are not doing a set and on the phone, to move off the equipment so others can work in. Obviously we can't get to everyone but were sure making the effort because we understand the frustration of waiting for equipment. As for the paper towels, spray bottles etc we appreciate you letting us know and have shared with the team so that this won't happen again. The reviews are members like you Craig who are just letting everyone know how they feel about Crunch. Thanks again for the review Craig and hopefully we can get you back liking us the way you did in the past.
Positive experience: Be aware of the cancellation policy. You have to be in the gym to cancel the membership. They will charge you until you submit the form in person. The online support sucks. A very much inconvenience for people who need to move or have other emergency. I think signing in and canceling should be easy for a customer. The gym itself is nice, plenty of room for a workout.
Hey VS, thanks for taking the time to review! We appreciate the feedback and look forward to your next visit!
Fantastic experience: Nice employees, good customer service!! Safe and clean with the covid situation.
Fantastic experience: Good atmosphere and equipment. personal training session would be cool.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym especially for the price. The initiation fee is a bit rough but has all the right equipment and staff is super talented
Thanks Scott, we think you're great too! See you next time!
Fantastic experience: I like this gym. They have a nice vibe and ehe people that work out there are laid back.
Thanks, Rick! We think you're awesome too!
Positive experience: They are very covid safe and the equipment is top notch! I have had memberships at multiple gyms and crunch Beaverton is by far my favorite!
Hey Trystan! Your feedback helps us get better! Can you please email us at [email protected] and let us know how we can get those 5 stars?
Positive experience: I love this Crunch Fitness Location!! I was weak and a loser until I signed up for a membership at this location. Now I'm strong and a winner! I'd like to thank the "Crunchies" (staff) at Crunch Fitness for helping me to achieve my goals.
Hey Desroster! Your feedback helps us get better! Can you please email us at [email protected] and let us know how we can improve?
Fantastic experience: I’ve been at this gym a few months now. The staff is always helpful and professional. The gym is clean and the machines are in good condition.
Hey Sierra! We are thrilled to have you as part of the #CrunchFam! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our entire team! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Positive experience: Convenient, affordable and the friendliest staff in the morning time. I go usually around 5-6 AM to enjoy a quieter environment for lifting weights. My trainer David is awesome and a joy to workout with.
Thank you, Kaylin. We appreciate your kind review of Crunch Fitness - Beaverton and we are so glad you are loving your time with David!
Negative experience: They refuse to cancel our subscription. We've cancelled in person, over the phone and with a written. letter (at their request) on multiple occasions. $520 in fees since we cancelled. Still no resolution.
Negative experience: Making it extremely difficult for customers to cancel their membership during a global pandemic which necessitates that people remain home instead of coming to your sleazy gym is incredibly foul business practice. People have lost their jobs and income and you were still trying to take money from them when you were not even open? Disgusting.
Positive experience: I have had a decent experience with this gym in the past but I returned to Crunch Beaverton this week following the ~3 month shut down and was shocked by the very rundown state the gym was in. I am not exaggerating when I say that literally every single bottle of sanitizing spray was missing or empty in the entire upper level of the gym. I was unable to wipe down any of the equipment that I used. In the bathroom I went to wash my hands in the sink and two of the women’s sinks were out of soap. Super gross and unsanitary especially during these times where extra effort toward cleanliness is expected. I also learned this week what a hassle it is to cancel your membership, as boyfriend tried to cancel his and was eventually forced to pay $50 just to do so after months of not being able to use the gym and not being able to cancel by phone when it wasn’t open.
Negative experience: I was about to move away (while the gym was still closed) and had to cancel my membership. They said on their website to email them, so I did - twice - a few weeks apart. Before and after I moved. Never received a response, kept getting charged. I called after getting charged again and they said they actually require a signature to cancel, so I am supposed to come in or send them a letter. So I am now sending a letter, in the snail mail, to cancel my membership, while in the meantime they keep charging me. I have never heard of a gym requiring a signature to cancel. Edited to add, after they got the letter they called me to tell me I have a 12 month agreement...which would have been nice to know...
Negative experience: They have a decent of variety of equipment. When it comes to owning a membership... getting one is easy. Trying to cancel is dam near impossoble. I've attempted 3 times in the past 2 years to cancel and I always get the run around. I just got an email stating my balance is past due and I will need to pay it in order to cancel. You will always get the run around here.
Negative experience: Gym has been closed since November due to COVID. Couldn't cancel over the phone and couldn't go in to cancel because of state restrictions. Opened up last Friday at limited capacity and got slapped with $50. I joined another gym months ago because this one was closed and didn't even have time until the next billing cycle to cancel my membership. Basically had to eat the cost just to cancel. Awful customer service.
Negative experience: Literally trying to get a hold of crunch fitness is impossible. and I had “Chase” one of the employees at the Beaverton location just start talking to a customer literally in the middle of our conversation , even though he was talking on the phone with me first, and then said excuse me ma’am one second and hung up on me and every time I’m calling them it just goes straight to voicemail.
We can help! Please email our Crunch Member Services team at [email protected] for assistance. Be sure to include your name, home club and key tag number (or email associated with your account) for faster response.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym! I switched to Crunch because lower monthly dues and better pricing on personal training than my last gym. The locker room is always clean, I like coming here!
Fantastic experience: I really like this gym! It has everything I want and nothing I don't. I never feel uncomfortable -- despite being, well, a normal older person, there are always machines available, and my personal trainer -- Dylan (the one with hair) -- is SUPER!
Fantastic experience: Great place. Very affordable. My favorite part is that there is no pushy salespeople. Good variety of equipment. When I made a repair request on a piece of equipment, they fixed it in a few days or less. Because of all these things, this place gets my upvote. Update: When they closed temporarily, they stopped billing me until they can reopen. I'm very happy with them.
Fantastic experience: Can't beat it for $10! You get a lot of machines and weights for the price. Front desk people are friendly and the atmosphere is definitely feels non-judgmental per their motto. Now, this place is not fancy, but that's one reason I like it. Cons for me: music gets loud.
Hi SolaScripturamjc, the Crunch team is happy to hear you had such a wonderful experience! We’re so glad you're enjoying your workouts with us. Thank you so much for being a valued member, we really appreciate it and we hope to work out with you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Crunch Fitness in Beaverton is my favorite Crunch. I’m close to two, but I really like this location. The staff is friendly, the equipment is really good, and you really don’t feel judged there—only welcomed. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Crunch Beaverton is the best part of my day -- the front staff knows me + makes an effort each time I arrive to connect. They always switch the TV's to the best football games + their prices are solid. They do a great job of enforcing masks + watching security footage to ensure our safety while in the gym. Truly, a no judgement zone and grateful to be a member.
Hey Charissa, thank you so much for your 5-star review! We will share this with the team to let them know to keep up the amazing work!
Fantastic experience: During these challenging times with COVID I was hesitant to join a new gym. This gym has allowed me to not worry and enjoy being back in the gym. I have been going to this gym for a month now and I am very impressed on their systems in place to keep everyone safe. The front desk staff and the personal trainer I met with were all very professional and had excellent communication with me.
Hey Jamie! We're happy you had a fantastic time with us! Thanks for your trust; we're thankful for amazing members like yourself. We hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Crunch Fitness in Beaverton is a great place to work out! It's always clean with plenty of machines to work out on. Also the employees are very friendly and if you want a great trainer, ask for Orphieus as he is the best!
