Fantastic experience: It is a great gym. I'm glad I joined. They have a lot of very good equipment. Perhaps the most striking thing about the place is that it has a lot of people who are very serious about working out, but they have all been very very nice. I don't know how they do it but they attract a really great clientele. Serious workout people all with very good manners. Maybe it has something to do with management and staff who are also serious about what they do, but also very nice. If I could give them six stars I would.

Fantastic experience: Great clean spacious gym. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable on the machines. They have my favorite alkaline water there too, try it out it’s called RX water and all I’ll say is there’s no question as to why the Olympics endorsed them. Aside from the hydration I maintain here the machines are open and free weights are endless. It’s great to have more than two sets of the same free weight for those days it gets packed

Negative experience: SCAM ARTISTS! I believe they deliberately make it difficult for you to terminate your contract in the hopes that you will give up and continue to let them suck you dry at the rate of $52 a month plus a yearly fee. You cannot do anything on the phone or online, all transactions have to be done in person! My son signed up for a year-long membership, used the gym for a month and went back to New Hampshire for school. The monthly fee was transferred from his bank account to my credit card. I asked if I could transfer his membership to my name so I could use the gym since he was not in New Jersey. I was told no. I asked if I could freeze the account until my son was back in NJ. I was told yes but I had to pay a $10 monthly fee to stop the $52 payment and that would push the membership out another three months. My son came back and restarted the membership. I called Powerhouse and asked how to terminate the membership when the year was up. I was specifically told "come in on February 16 in person to terminate and you will not get charged for the following month." I went in person and first was told "you can't terminate, it has to be your son." Not possible since my son lives in NH. Then I was told "you still have to pay the $63 yearly fee and another $52 for February to terminate the contract." This is extortion!!!!!

Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because staff asked an excessive amount of question that sounded very much like he was assuming that me and my bf were not supposed to be there. We are new to the gym so we were looking around to see where to go first. Not trying to be sneaky….

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym strictly for the equipment they have and the culture they created. Although the gym is a little out of the way, it’s definitely worth it. Most gyms around the area don’t even come close with the versatility of their equipment and you will never find yourself waiting to use equipment. Also, they host a health and wellness center that supports you with massages, acupuncture, cupping and so much more. If you’re looking to elevate your gym game, powerhouse is the place to go.

Negative experience: NOT WORTH IT, ONLY 24/7 IF YOU PAY EXTRA - The gym itself is decent enough, except for the cardio section which I'm not crazy about. You don't even have control over what you watch, and the staff shuts off the TVs after they leave. On that note, it's also not truly a 24-hour gym, you have to pay a little extra for that benefit. I'm paying around 50 a month for the base membership, because I think ~80 is way too high (that's what you have to pay for 24/7 access). The staff leaves kind of early on the weekends which I feel is intentional to encourage people to sign up for the premium membership. When you sign up, you will have to put down a yearly fee, a one time sign up fee, your last month's gym membership fee, and the first months fee. I think my total to sign up was ~450$. Then on top of the high sign up/ membership fees, you will be charged if a payment is declined (around $30 bucks). You also have to sign your name about 8-10 times for the contract (not exaggerating). If it weren't for these things, I'd give this gym four stars. I haven't been using the gym recently for reasons, and decided to cancel my membership to save some money. I asked to waive the yearly fee I was recently charged since I hadn't been going. They couldn't reimburse me the yearly fee because I "signed for it". In other words, 'tough luck, we want our money'.

Positive experience: Unironically Guy is right about Fox news being the only news channel played. Overall the equipment they have is nice but please more variety on the channels!

Fantastic experience: Great place to workout! I was in town for a couple of days and needed a gym. I searched Google and luckily this gym popped up! I signed up online for a free three day pass and was able to get my workouts in. The staff is very friendly and the gym was clean. The locker rooms were extremely clean, which is a big plus. If I lived in the area I would make this my gym! If I’m ever in town again I would definitely go to this gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, I love that it is 24 hours. Their is a large amount of squat racks, which is beneficial when the gym is crowded. The gym can get pretty crowded starting after work hours, however, if you go late at night, 10PM for instance, the crowd has usually died down by then. Their are multiples of most common equipment, so there are very few lines that form, if ever. The door scanner for hours when employees are not in the building is a little bit finicky, sucks when it’s cold or raining.
