Fantastic experience: Great gym and has a wide variety of machines and equipment. It's on the cheaper side and it's a steal when considering how much equipment they have. They have made some renovations recently and it is a huge improvement from what it looked like a few months ago. Also avoid going during peak hours.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to dolphin for the last 14 years & it’s the only gym in Brooklyn that has multiple of the same machines. Such as the leg press, most gyms have one leg press machine. Dolphin has several. The staff is always welcoming and greeting you with positive energy. The gym itself is actually improving as well. They have added several new pieces of equipment & have been updating the weights as well. I would recommend this gym to anyone especially if you’re a serious lifter who likes a variety of machines !

Positive experience: A better well maintained HVAC system would save this gym from all the comments related to the smell of the place. It's gotta be like 80% humidity in there all times of year. Hard to exercise in that when you're fat and out of shape like me. ***Fans always seem to be on now bringing the temperature of the space down like 15 degrees and feels significantly better. Feels cleaner and they even got new barbells.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of dolphin for almost 20 years, and love every minute of it! The cleaning staff works their tails off to keep the place clean and fresh , and the upgrades to the ladies restroom are amazing! Upon entering the gym, I couldn't help but notice a strong odor of sweat, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, I observed that the overall cleanliness of the gym fell short of my expectations. There was noticeable dust accumulation in various areas, and I even witnessed a couple of individuals coughing near the workout machines, which may indicate poor air quality and hygiene standards. As someone who values maintaining a healthy and sanitary workout environment, these issues have made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my time at the gym. I believe that addressing these concerns would greatly enhance the experience for all members and potentially attract new ones. I would like to suggest implementing a more rigorous cleaning schedule, especially focusing on high-traffic areas and equipment. Fantastic experience: Best gym for this price. Feels very authentic. Equipment is like from old movies, but in a good way. Everything clean, a lot of room and very friendly personal!

Negative experience: As soon as I walk into this establishment I am greeted by a stench that was so unbearable. Their attempts to improve and clean the gym have been almost non existent except for a couple things. Their biggest issue is keeping the gym clean. There are multiple janitors but these efforts are not enough. They need a good deep cleaning. Dust on the celing and fans linger and it is very disgusting. Their machines get the job done but are very old and some machines people never use so why don’t they upgrade them? The men’s locker room is extremely small and during rush hour it is very crowded and it most definitely needs an upgrade. The dumbells are all out of place and people will take 2,3 sometimes even 4 machines at a time! For the price you pay it is definitely not worth it! I understand rent and labor costs but for this price it’s just not worth it.

Negative experience: This place is the worst gym i ever been to. Small locker and outrageously stinky, one disgusting urinal and stall, and decade old equipment. The equipment is filled with germs and sweat and there are no paper towels to wipe it off. There are no pins for the equipment, as i mentioned, these machines are at least a decade old. No upgrades or new equipment, only a set of new ez curl bar weights. There is this particular big red ball and it is covered in filth. It has been in the same spot forever. collecting dust and all types of bacteria. The equipment is breaking every other week, really. Paying at almost 180 for 3 months, switching from the $70 a month, I don’t know how these guys cannot afford upgrades for the gym. No wonder why all there other clubs closed. The people at the front desk are always convincing you to switch to the more priced plans. I still had at least a month left before my 3 month plan expired. They called me asking me to upgrade to the 6 months plan. All they care about is grabbing your money. The people who workout there also are complete douchebags. Everyone has a huge ego and taking up multiple equipment at once. Complete waste of money. Way better gyms in brooklyn for similar and cheaper prices.( Harbor fitness and crunch fitness).

Fantastic experience: Great workout environment and 24 hours schedule is perfect

Fantastic experience: Been going here for 1.5 years now. Overall this gym has the main essentials for a solid workout with a reasonable price and amazing hours. Sharing some detailed insights below to help you determine if it's the right fit for you: It's a retro gym with a good deal of heavy lifters. This gym has loads of free weights (including extremely heavy weights), squat racks, cables, and cardio machines. It has a small mat section for abs and stretching, and an open space for boxing and HIIT workouts, but this gym is not made for cross fit training or any training that requires a lot of open space. The mat section has medicine balls, and you can get kettlebells by asking the front desk. People also occasionally ask for ropes, but the space isn't really meant for it. It can get crowded after 4pm so I recommend coming in the morning if you like more space. The good news is that it rarely gets crowded to the point where you'd have to ask someone to share a machine because there's endless weights/machine to go around. The staff are very kind and welcoming and keep the place clean. It is an old-school Brooklyn gym, so don't expect to see the modern/colorful interior that big gym chains have. This doesn't bother me but I figured it's important to note in case it matters to you. I use to go to Planet Fitness before and although this gym looks older, the abundance of equipment makes up for it 100x. There seems to be a strong community between the members at the gym, so if you like staying motivated with others, this gym is an easy place to meet like-minded individuals. But if you're anything like me, I'm quite independent when it comes to working out so I never engage with the people. NOTES FOR THE WOMEN: 1) Most of the members at this gym are men. I see MAYBE 1-2 other females around me. Generally, the men are nice, but some of them can't help but look at the women. I recommend visiting during morning/early afternoon if you prefer to avoid that as there's way less people earlier in the day. 2) I find that some machines are not petite friendly so sometimes I have to stretch to reach the handle or push the leg press further to put it back in place. If you're short and find that it's hard to adjust the machine to your size, don't worry–it's not you, it's the machine. Just be aware of this so you don't break your back trying. I recommend trying another machine or opt for free weights and cables to avoid the problem altogether. Hopefully, my insights are helpful! Feel free to visit the gym to see for yourself. The place is bigger than what it feels like in the pictures.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a long time, I have no complaints. This gym is my number one top favorite, it has so many machines you are never waiting for one ! And it is 24/7 you do not find that anywhere !!! I’ve tried many gyms and this is the only one I’ve ever stayed with !

Negative experience: They closed there location in 86 and 4 . I Had about a year membership . They never refund my money back smh ‍♀️ scam me completely. They would harass you 1 month before your membership would expire not only that told me to mail the contract back to them I never hear back from them . What a shame no wander why they are closing there location .

Fantastic experience: Have been a member at Dolphin for over 2 years the staff is always kind and friendly. They are open 24 hours a day everyday except holidays when they have holiday hours. Some of the equipment is a bit old but they have every machine you could need and not just one of them but multiple. There music choice might be a little out of date but that’s why I bring headphones lol, I always get a good work out in Dolphin I have been a member at many gyms and I find dolphin to be the best in Brooklyn it’s definitely not the fanciest but it provides everything you need to get a good workout. Fantastic experience: Been a member almost 20 years. Never had any issues. Staff are very friendly. Plenty of machines to choose from. Being the only 24hr gym around(Monday-Sunday) is a home run.

Negative experience: I made the mistake of rejoining this club for a yearly membership last month even though my membership was not over yet. The petty monitors at the front will screech @ you and beg you to rejoin months before your time is up. Yes they are that desperate and pathetic. Due to a number of reasons, I would like a full refund. I will no longer be attending Dolphin Fitness for my workouts. I am no longer comfortable working out there and each year I find my workouts at this club less and less enjoyable. My decision is based on a number of reasons. 1. I am tired of dealing with the minefield of overly crowded equipment on the workout floor from Dolphin's other previously closed down clubs. It's not only an eyesore but it's also probably a fire hazard and increasingly more dangerous. My bruised up shins are the proof. 2. The men's locker room is just as filthy, gross, unappealing and inconvenient as it's always been there are always gnats flying all over the one urinal in the entire gym. It's tiny, crammed and uncomfortable. Given the fact that it hasn't changed at all in the 15 years that I've been a member, other than a couple of new lightbulbs that have recently been installed. Bravo. 3. The consistently abysmal attitude from half of the cleaning staff is annoying. I shouldn't pay to deal with attitudes from miserable people. 4. The increasingly inept decision making from the management is concerning. There have also been more and more instances of management siding with increasingly troublemaking personal trainers who are always starting fights with members over equipment. The gym is overcrowded and inconvenient but the management will always side with the trainers because it brings money to the club. 5. Dolphin fitness clubs is clearly a dying brand. All other DF clubs are closed down, probably for good reason. This last ditch effort to renovate the last DFC to try to make it look like something other than an old bowling alley with decades old weight equipment strewn all over the floor is laughable. They will most likely be out of business entirely soon as all their other locations are long gone. You really take your chances joining. Stay far away from this garbage club. There are plenty of options better than this terrible establishment.

Negative experience: I used to be a member of this gym last year, and it was alright. For the price and 24 hour time frame it fit well for me. I came into sign up again and checked the price on their website, $40 dollars no other fees, great! I came in a told the I would like to do a month to month as this was going to be a second membership and wanted to test out how the commute and everything would work for me as I don’t live on this I side do Brooklyn anymore. The man at the front desk told there is actually a processing fee of 20 dollars, whatever if it’s a 1 time fee then it’s cool. I was then informed it’s actually recurring monthly, making the effective monthly fee of 67 dollars. I told them that it wouldn’t work for me as I have a gym right next to my parents place for 70 a month and this is a 20 minute drive for me. He then try to explain to me if I paid 100+ upfront then it would be 22.99 a month, and we did the math. And this is where I felt swindled and why I’m leaving the 1 star. I explained to him earlier im trying to do a month to month and see how this location fits for me, and so I thought we were on the same page about being month to month. So I read back what he just said about the 100 upfront and 22.99 month to month and he tried to sneak in no it’s actually a year commitment even after $100+ up front The fact that I was already a Member of the gym in the past and try to get me to pay an initiation fee, 2) lie about the pricing( if it’s 67 a month say it’s 67 a month, don’t try to hide 1/3 of it as a “processing fee” that is recurring monthly. 3) I felt like was 1 being sold but being sold with deceit and not full transparency, made me leave this 1 star. Like I said I’ve been to this gym in the past, in my opinion it’s not worth close to 70 a month unless you are hyper local and don’t have a car to go to another gym as the area doesn’t have many options for a gym.

Negative experience: This gym is so filthy. It has great equipment for weight lifting, albeit extremely outdated, but if it wasn't a Staph infection waiting to happen, I wouldn't have canceled my membership. The women's locker room has 2 dirty stalls, 1 sink, and wait until you see the lockers from 1985. The fan on the ceiling hasn't been dusted in years. There's 3 layers of black gunk/dirt on it blowing allergens and who knows what else on members. There is no paper towel around the gym so you can't wipe anything down to protect yourself unless you walk back and forth to the only dispenser by the front desk or carry a huge wad with you like a hobo. Here's a photo of the filthy exercise ball that never gets cleaned. You could scrape the dirt off of it. They NEVER fix any of these issues, just give you empty promises. They really should be shut down by the NY Hygiene dept to be honest.

Fantastic experience: I like this place, it has simple workout equipment and free weights, that's all I need. There's plenty of weights and equipment, so there's no waiting around. It's a great place to get in some exercise, for me anyway.

Negative experience: How in God's green earth is this location still open? Seems like it has the same run down equipment as a decade ago. Murray still is the manager. Bet he is as dumb as he was then. Yet people still go here? Why? This gym is a total waste. I bet they still have you pay full price for a yearly membership. Then 3 months later try to pester you into paying fir 3 more months. Nope I don't miss this gym not one bit.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Everyone who works here and works out here makes you feel welcome. They have pretty much every machine you could think of, Tons of free weights, and the most squat racks and bench presses you will ever see in any gym. The staff does a great job keeping the area clean and clear. The thing I love most about this gym is that it’s 24 hours. So I can gym at anytime, working around my schedule vs. having to adjust my schedule to the gyms hours.

Fantastic experience: All these "bad reviews" are tripping, I recently started working out here from planet fitness because PF decided to close their gyms at 11pm what a shame. But Dolphin is by far better gym, at no point of day you'll have to wait for your turn to use any equipment or barbells/dumbells. Definitely worth it.

Fantastic experience: I joined about a month ago after being a member at the Ballys\24 hour fitness up the block. After being frustrated every day i went in i decided to get a guest pass at Dolphin. I was so angry with myself for not going here in the first place. They have so much equipment it's amazing. It is no frills but I'm there to workout not get free pizza. Great place if you're serious about putting work in, if you're not serious do is all a favor and go to planet fitness.

Fantastic experience: I like the gym the staff is bad but I don't care, I'm not there to socialize with the staff of the gym as long as they take care of the gym keep it clean and don't bother me I would care less about the staff. I pay my money to go there not get bothered and have a good work out and that's what I get everyday. The members of the gym are really friendly and nice and well mannered. The only bad thing about the gym is the staff everything else is perfect.

Positive experience: it’s a serious gym and you get what you pay for. there’s like 8 squat racks, 6 bench presses and 3 smith machines which means no waiting around unlike other gyms in the area (*cough* blink fitness). downside is that a lot of the equipment is rusty and they keep WD-40 around cause you’ll def need it for the cable machines. there’s just a TON of equipment but any names or instructions for them have long deteriorated so it’s a pain to figure out what some of them do. the staff are great especially Kristine and tommy. regarding the members, it’s usually a sausage party here and everyone keeps to themselves although some men need to learn how to aim cause locker room smells like piss half the time. overall great gym and has everything you’ll ever need at an affordable price

Negative experience: I went in there to check it out to see maybe to join but upon my arrival I looked at the freeways and it was unbelievably old free weights the waist look like they came from somebody's backyard if you look on a size and see some of the free weights it's all chipped it up very old the machines are okay but the free weights this gym need to step up their game and invest on buying some new free weights and stop using Grandpa's free weights I was terribly disappointed and not enough Elbow Room just keeping it real

Fantastic experience: Murray the owner is great as well as David and staff. Only complaint is when the machine is occupied by people not using the machine- cellphone browsing is the norm. Or a dumbbell bench is a receptacle for personal effects. Otherwise unlimited amount of machines for every body part.

Fantastic experience: I love enjoying workouts here, All staff is friendly! Come and join this gym! You won't regret it. There have entirely machines for all men and women, I went to this gym for a couples of weeks, as long as you come here to workout! Nobody would bother you here! It's can build up your confidence in this gym

Negative experience: Dolphin Fitness, hereafter named Dolphin Fakeness, does not honor their own website. They just refused a free 3 day pass they advertise and asked for $20 for one day pass. Of course that’s ridiculous so I left immediately… I wonder how much everything really costs when all the information is fake?

Fantastic experience: Murry and Tommy make this place not just a gym but a place to call home. There is no gym I have every been in that had such a plethora of weights, benchs, machines, tread mills, bicycles, punching bags, strecth rooms and more. They have affordable refreshments, protein drinks and towels. The price is rather affordable, 24 hours and not that crowded. I make friends here and I get an amazing work out. Nils

Fantastic experience: It's great to see you guys back open. While our mayor and governor of NYC could have had it opened a month sooner. Close to home, very convenient.
