Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym, especially the classes. The instructors are so professional and knowledgeable. I especially like Kelly F. She truly cares about her participants. She even took the time to educate me on my new cycling shoes and put the right cleats on for me. This is above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: This place is very well run— the staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful — the facility is clean and has everything you’d want for your workout whether you are a young or old person. There are even swim programs for tots. It’s usually not that busy and the music playing is NOT BORING or Obnoxious. The crowd tends toward the over 30 crowd. Plenty of seniors. There are many super services and programs to explore. Average cost.

Fantastic experience: This gym has all you need when it comes to working out. It has a full weight room, a track, a million treadmills, a basketball court, and more. There also are men's and women's locker rooms which are super nice. Most everybody is respectful. I would highly suggest it. 9/10 gym.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I wish we found it sooner! I worked out at WCC fitness center for years but after my son being born, it was hard to go to a gym without childcare. The childcare staff at Dexter Wellness center are so wonderful and kind my son loves going there. I can't thank them enough for providing a safe and fun atmosphere so I can work out regularly and my son can play. The center itself is clean and the equipment is excellent. I will be so sad if anything drastic changes if/when the building sells.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at DWC since 2018. It is such a nice facility, right in downtown Dexter. There's a gym, spinning room, massage room, track, cardio floor, weight floor, group class room and yoga/pilates room. There are two pools, a lap pool kept at 80 degrees and a warm water therapy pool that is kept at 90 degrees. There's a wide range of classes to participate in at every skill level. The locker rooms are very nicely appointed. There is even a daycare for kids. When mine were younger they really enjoyed going there. They also liked the swim and gym program that used to be a few days a week. Now it's every two weeks. I wish they would offer it every weekend.

Fantastic experience: A gem. Friendly people, great equipment, pool for laps. Towels, sauna, powerful showers. I was from out if town and got a guest pass for a week. Was so impressed went almost every day.

Fantastic experience: Such a gift to have a wonderful fitness center at our fingertips. I enjoy coming and having access to the courts, fitness equipment, the pools, sauna and more! How can you beat that. So good for us and the overall wellness of our community! Plus, the Dexter area is growing rapidly and I’m sure the interest in DWC will only keep increasing. I’m sure this will further energize this wonderful gem of ours. Such an important part of our community. Also, big thank you to the staff and their work supporting us all.

Negative experience: I’m disappointed that your facility doesn’t accept Silver Sneakers. That’s why I only gave you 1 star. There are so many seniors on a fixed income that could benefit from being a member of your facility if you accepted silver sneakers.

Positive experience: Lovely, clean facility. Do not sign up for bonus offers when you enroll unless you make concrete plans to use them. 10 days late to attempt to use mine, and SORRY. Would not have cost them a thing to accommodate me but rules are rules.

Positive experience: I was there for fitness classes exploration. It was fun. I didn't see much of the rest of the gym. We were in the gymnasium.

Positive experience: If you want a gym that gives no concern for etiquette this is the place for you. Occupy 4 machines at once, go right ahead. Don't like wiping up after you are done, that is cool too. Want to use a bar like some kind massive sword while crowding your fellow gym goers in a corner consider it just shy of encouraged. Otherwise the equipment typically works and the staff is friendly.

Fantastic experience: Every stay at home mom in the area NEEDS to join this gym. The childcare center has tons for them to do, including free time in the gymnasium. There are a variety of fitness classes, a warm pool with family swim times, really clean locker rooms, and plenty of parking. It’s pricey but totally worth it.

I go about 3x a week, HOWEVER I have a super flexible schedule so I can go whenever I want and can usually avoid the big crowd around 4-5pm. My workouts are usually more running and calisthenically focused, so I don't utilize much more than the treadmills, track, studios, and pool.

Positive experience: I love this place. Whatever your level of fitness and whatever your goals, you will find it here. The trainers and staff are great. A wide variety of classes are offered. There are both a hot pool and cooler lap pool. The workout area offers free weights, machines, cables, and lots of equipment for functional training. There is also a gym for basketball and pickleball. My only reason for withholding one star: there is a steam room but no hot tub. I would give 5 stars otherwise. Note: membership here also gets you access to other sister facilities in the area, and Chelsea does have a hot tub, steam.room and sauna.

Positive experience: Excellent workout facility on par with some of the best places I have worked out over the past 30 years. If a machine breaks down, it seems the next time at the club it is fixed. The only problem is the hours. Closing at 8 PM Mon -Thu and 7 PM Friday makes it difficult to work out after work. Weekends they close at 3 which is disappointing. I suppose they are struggling a bit financially and are looking to sell and longer hours cost more. Financial struggles could be cured with some decent marketing and promotions. Many people in Dexter area don't know such a nice club exists (which is nice while it is still in business because it is never very crowded).

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out. Love their Yogi's. Management seems to be seeking to be relevant to customers through class offerings, website, workout tracking, etc. You can get a massage here. Nice sauna in the women's locker room. Love that they stock extra socks to buy if you forget yours. Love the staff. Love the locker room.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility for working out, swimming, and many other activities. The gym has nice, well-maintained equipment, fitness staff is available to offer advice and answer questions, and everything is kept very clean. The pools are warm and great for lap-swimming and other exercises. Locker rooms are very nice, offering combination lockers, showers, and towel service. They also have child care service, which our kids love - the staff are friendly and fun, and they have great activities for the kids.

Fantastic experience: Great family friendly place! My boys love coming to the wellness center! The staff members are always nice & helpful with what ever your needs... I use the gym typical 5-6. Days a week. I been coming to the Dexter wellness center for 6 years & was previously a member of the Chelsea Center for 2 years. I have met so many great people from younger to older. They have a lot of classes to offer & are great for all levels. They have a great selection of weight training equipment & continuously keep bringing in new equipment for an experience weight lifter. The cost of the membership and what they have to offer is so worth it! Any where outside of Dexter would cost you so Much More!!! I love our Dexter Wellness Center!❤️

Positive experience: Clean, friendly, encouraging, and a lot to offer!

Negative experience: Not a family friendly establishment and management doesn't value long term customers. If you have children you can't afford this place. Childcare will effectively DOUBLE your membership. But since it is effectively the only gym in Dexter that offers childcare they can hike up their prices to ludicrous amounts. For my 4 kids it cost $120/month just in childcare added to the single adult membership of $70! That's a grand total of almost $200/month. Management runs monthly specials that bring the prices down to a reasonable rate that working families might be able to afford only to jack the price up to "normal" rates after that more than double the membership. Dexter Wellness Center, it isn't a good business strategy to make your profits off of a customer's mistake to cancel their membership by an arbitrary date. If the customer can't use your services and they have notified you BEFORE ever using your services, give their money back. It's that simple. That is good customer service. Taking money from customers that don't want your services is effectively robbery in my book.
