Fantastic experience: They have a trap bar which was awesome for deadlifts, lots of other gyms go to while traveling don't have this and just have like 50 cardio machines. This place only has 2 treadmills and an elliptical, so if you're a cardio person, this might not be the place for you. But, if you need resistance training with a bench, trap bar, free weights, all kinds of machines - this is the spot for you. It has an old-style feel to it when you walk in, but is clean and the owners/workers are very easy going and friendly. Not an intimidating place at all. Most people stay for 1 week, and they have a very fair price for that. You go in and sign up the 1st time, and from there you get a key fob that let's you access the gym at any time of day. So if you go through your day, eat too much seafood, feel guilty about it later and want to go for a 3am workout - you can do that. Awesome place, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Salvo.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Had a great experience here this week. Has a decent selection of free weights and machines. Apparently people take their frustrations out on the water cooler because a sign was up today saying "water no longer provided because someone broke the machine again" otherwise a great experience! We will be back!

Positive experience: Nice well equipped facility, easy temporary membership process, friendly owner. The bathrooms were out of service for one of the days we were there and no water. I would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I'm so pleased to have the opportunity to exercise while on vacation in the Outer Banks. It used to be a hassle to go to Planet Fitness, which was not ideal. This place is fairly priced and has that classic gym feel I'm used to. I'm so thankful that it's here! I love to get up early before everyone else and go there. We usually stay in Rodanthe or Salvo, which is close to the grocery store, so I can pick up whatever I need and then head back. I'm so grateful to the owners for providing this great service.

Fantastic experience: Very clean gym that is very well kept. 24/7 access allows you to workout when it’s convenient for you. Gym has all equipment to get a great workout. Never crowded nor is there ever a wait for any machines or benches. Dumbbells from 5-100 lbs. Smith machine, cardio equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, flat and incline benches. You name it and this facility has it. Separate area for stretching and men’s and women’s bathrooms. No water fountains, but bottled water is provided for all clients.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at the gym! It was a breeze to get a week pass and the cost was reasonable. The gym was open all day and night and never crowded. It was spotless and had all the equipment I needed. The people who worked there and the other patrons were very welcoming. I plan to return when I'm in the vicinity.

It has all the necessary items I needed to keep up with my exercise routine while on holiday. It is spotless and has a vast selection of equipment. There are various membership plans for those who are joining for a limited period. I will definitely return when we come back to the area.

Fantastic experience: I’m an amateur bodybuilder and was so happy to find this place! They have 24 hour access so you can go before or after the beach. They also had the cheapest prices on the island! Seth is a great guy and depending on when you go you will most likely have the place to yourself or with 1 or 2 others. Best gym on the island in my opinion!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful to have a gym open on Hatteras Island! The owner, Seth, is friendly, accommodating, and happy to answer any questions or concerns. The equipment is well maintained and plentiful. Being able to work out at any time of the day or night, via a key fob, is a huge plus. I will be seeing a lot of Raise the Bar, starting today!

Being able to purchase a week pass to use 24/7 was amazing to fit into my schedule to where I was able to go my entire vacation. These guys have been super accommodating to new members I saw come and go throughout my time and I can’t wait to go back next time I’m around!

Fantastic experience: My dad and I come on vacation here a couple times every summer for a couple of weeks or so. My dad saw that there was a gym near by and signed us up! I’m so happy he did. The staff is very friendly, the gym is clean, and there’s a enough equipment in there for everyone! Great gym!
