Negative experience: I will go because it is close to me 2 min The management is not good They are not open the place on time. Today 10.27.24 they should open 7:00 am I wait one hour they did not open. Not recommended.

Fantastic experience: Honestly a great gym, it is also just a great community. When I first started, I felt like a noob. After a couple of weeks, a guy came up to me to give me pointers. He also introduced me to some great people at the gym who helped me out to this day. I love this group of people and I love this gym. Keep coming and don't quit. I believe in you.

Positive experience: Great gym, hydro table, tanning beds. NO SAUNA. Most Cruch gyms are advertised with a Sauna.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love going to this gym. The staff is super friendly and always making sure the gym is clean and safe for all their members 10/10 service always. The GM Chris is super friendly and goes above and beyond to help the members of the gym. He is always there to help with any questions I have or if I need any tips during my workout. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone in the area looking to get their fitness journey started! Crunch has been a great gym for my friends and I for years now and I will never switch. Great equipment and staff. Very pleased with my experience here in Aurora.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and well maintained gym. They have a good selection of machines and plenty of classes available. Can't beat it for this price. Overall it's a pleasant experience compared to other more expensive places I have been to.

Negative experience: Opens at 5am but staff is almost always late. Management has been told but staff member continued to be 5- 20mins late.
Negative experience: The gym should be open right now but there is not a single employee in the building.
Negative experience: I was there for a guest visit, and had a bad experience with the front desk glasses guy. kind of uncomfortable, and weird because I felt like being starred down. very weird and uncomfortable. Will not be going again.

Negative experience: Pros: - The gym area and locker rooms are pretty clean. Plenty of disinfectant wipes throughout. - Plenty of treadmills ellipticals, and bikes if you’re looking to focus on cardio. Cons: - My biggest complaint is that they don’t fix their (non-cardio) equipment. There’s equipment that’s been out of order and broken for months now. It’s already hard enough to find open equipment when it’s crowded. - It can get really hot and humid inside during the summer. - The parking lot needs resurfacing. - Beware of hidden annual fees.
Negative experience: The place has gone down hill fast. Machines out of service for months. The water fountain broken for months. The place looks dirty especially the bathrooms and turf. The toilets are always clogged. The worst part is the AC is never on even when it’s 90 degrees. No wonder everyone went to VASA. Only stay here because VASA is too crowded and at least here I can use half of the functional equipment.
Negative experience: A big scam. They would charge 10$ a month for a few months and then suddenly would charge a big chunk of money on the pretext of yearly maintenance fee or some other name.
Fantastic experience: Been my gym for years and I’ve never had any complaints. The staff is amazing and super friendly. The assistant GM, Chris, has always helped me out and is incredibly personable. I even see him stop his own workouts to help any guests who need it, even when off the clock. The GM, Kamal, is awesome and runs the gym to perfection. I’ll never go to another gym!!

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a gym in the area that could fit my workout routine. Adelina was very informative and provided me with options to accommodate my situation. Awesome hospitality!
Negative experience: I moved to the Naperville/Aurora area in 2009 and have worked out at Xsport, Planet Fitness and Crunch. I started at Crunch in July of 2021 and canceled my membership in April of 2024. Pros: Lots of equipment at Crunch: 3 sets of dumbbells, 3 squat racks, 2 benches for bench press. All of the standard gym machines are here and more. They have a “jungle gym” with heavy bags, dip stations, pull up bars, etc. They have a turf area with all kinds of accessories like foam rollers, medicine balls, platforms to jump on, do hip thrusts, split squats, etc. The locker rooms are pretty clean. Crunch definitely beats Planet Fitness in the weight lifting equipment category! Crunch has everything PF has and more. Not as busy as Xsport (from what I remember). Cons: Too many high schoolers. Nothing against the age group, but they tend to cluster in groups, oftentimes sitting on equipment they’re not even using. And they act their age. You know what I mean (goofing around, hitting each other in the junk, taking shirtless selfies, live streaming their workout - these are all things I’ve seen). It can get annoying. While they have a lot of equipment (a good thing!), floor space can be tight. Especially around the machines/free weight/pulley area. Crunch has a “no bags on the floor” policy, which would allow for more space, but no one enforces it. Which leads me to my next point. Their employees don’t seem to care. As I mentioned, the “no bags on the floor policy” is not enforced. Nor do they do simple things like greet you. Most of the time, they’re on their phones, talking with each other, talking with the other kids at the gym, hanging out in the office or working out. I very rarely see anyone doing any real “work”. The treadmills and bikes are outdated. Compared with Planet Fitness, the cardio equipment at Crunch seems much older. At Crunch, you can’t enter your weight on the treadmills or bikes to get a more accurate calorie burn. Last is the parking lot. The Crunch parking lot is littered with potholes. Some are pretty serious. I hit a pothole on a rainy day in March of 2024 (just thought it was a puddle). The pothole cracked my hubcap and dented my rim. When I told Kamal, the manager, about it, I was told two other people “blew out” tires on the same pothole. I was offered no apology, no compensation, no free t-shirt or water bottle, no free month, not even a “that sucks, man”. Nor was there any notice to members, as in, signs around the gym saying “Be careful of the potholes in the parking lot” or a notice of warning on their Facebook page. I think that’s pretty negligent on their part. They knowingly have potholes in their parking lot causing damage to people’s cars and they don’t let their clientele know. I tried contacting “corporate”, in addition to multiple conversations with Kamal, and that got me nowhere. The generic contact phone number on the Crunch website asks you to contact corporate through their website, so I did. I got no response. That was the last straw for me. Bottom line, Crunch is a good gym for weight lifting, and that’s about it. I’d recommend Planet Fitness for their cardio equipment and space. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend Crunch to anyone serious about working out. It just has a “no one gives a f–k high school hang out” vibe there. Which is unfortunate, because it wasn’t like that when I first joined. The staff (and my guess is the ownership) has changed for the worse and it shows. Plus, there’s the issue with the parking lot. Which is a huge issue in my opinion. No one needs to go to the gym and have their car damaged.
Fantastic experience: Very clean place, always can see staff vacuuming or scrubbing something down.
Positive experience: Few equipments are out of service for more than a month.
Negative experience: I do not recommend this gym. It’s overcrowded and you have to wait for machines. Cannot keep a gym bag on the floor yet rampant theft in the locker room. My air pods were stolen out of the locker room in January of 2023. Never came back but still payed for the entire year. As stated in the contract I singed. Cancelled the membership in December of 2023 yet still was charged another $49 annual fee price because “I didn’t cancel two weeks in advance” per Kamal the manager. They will make stuff up to charge your account. You will never get anything refunded since “that all has to go through corporate”. My wife & I both left due to this fact. Xsport was $14 a month for two years and way bigger everything. Go anywhere else!
Fantastic experience: Been going here since the day they opened. Never overly crowded and they keep up on their equipment. Very clean facilities.

Positive experience: At CRUNCH Fitness my trainer happened to be Erica! During our weeks of doing sessions together she showed patience, kindness and understanding. In-between our sessions she took my weight and muscle measurements. I found her advice extremely valuable and was able to add our various workout practices to my own weekly gym routine. I am thankful for her and her time assisting me and look forward to our next session.

Negative experience: Worst customer service! The general manager told me to come in person and he will help me cancel the trainer agreement but when I got there he told me that they won’t be able to help me and they will still charge me for the sessions even if I don’t take the training session. When I asked him that why he didn’t tell me this over the phone he said it’s because he doesn’t have my correct phone number. Which isn’t true because I have been calling them from my cellphone, they could’ve at least note that down. They are just there to take your money and waste your time. They also have my husband’s information, so they could’ve easily reached out if they wanted to and at the time of our call the manager knew they don’t have my correct number still he didn’t bother to correct my number in his system. They don’t have basic ethics to run a business.
Fantastic experience: Great gym and great trainers!! I trained with Kristin for over six months and it was such an amazing experience! She is very knowledgeable, flexible in working with your schedule, and a great motivator. She creates comprehensive workout plans so you can keep pushing towards your goals even when you’re not in an active session. The workout plans she creates are very customized, have a great variety of movements, and are designed for sustainable progression. She is always looking for feedback on how she can best support you on your journey and will adapt workouts as needed! In addition she is also very great to work with, super personable and made sessions fun and enjoyable, would HIGHLY recommend!
Fantastic experience: Erika is a fantastic trainer - I highly recommend her. Equipment and machines are good and although it can be crowded at times, overall that doesn't hinder one's workout. Great value for the price paid.
Positive experience: Crunch is a modest gym but very affordable. Lots of bang for your buck! For me the location can’t be beat - it’s a 3 minute drive from home. After a long hiatus from working out I starting working out with Alysia. She is a phenomenal trainer. Very flexible, engaging and takes her time to get to know what I need and prefer to do during workouts. With her help I established a new routine but learned so much about equipment and ways to workout on my own at home. 5 starts for my trainer and 3.5 for the gym and facilities. I do agree that there are times where there are a lot of kids and that can be distracting but to be fair an affordable gym of this size is going to be haven for young folks. Overall I’ve had a great experience. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: My trainer, Kristin, is amazing. This is my first experience with a trainer and I'm really pleased. She works with me to address the things I want to work on and pays attention to the areas that are painful for me. She customizes my workout for an allover effective result. And the best thing is I feel great after the workout. I highly recommend using Kristin's services.
Fantastic experience: I’ve worked out here pretty much my whole life, and it’s been an amazing experience through and through! The staff have always been super supportive and on my side. They explain everything thoroughly and don’t leave you confused at all. They remember names and goals, and are really personable. Kristin is an amazing personal trainer as well, giving new and different workouts while also pushing you as well. She makes you feel really comfortable, and cares about you as a person as well as your fitness goals. 10/10 definitely recommend her for any spot in your fitness journey.

Positive experience: The gym has all the free weights you need to get the job done. But if you can put up with the tons of young kids under 18 working out, hanging out in large groups and the parking lots grand canyon craters all over, overall it's a good gym.
Negative experience: This place has turned into a dump and a playground for after school teens. The staff has no clue how to operate/manage a gym and they let these kids who have clearly never set foot in a gym, do whatever they want. Hordes Of kids hanging out on/around the equipment so no one can actually work out. This place has become a joke. Anyone who actually wants to workout, should pay a few bucks more and go somewhere else. There are several options in the area. Those who are looking for an after school daycare for their kids, this is the place for you.

Negative experience: It okay I like that it next to McDonald’s but I don’t like the machines they can’t carry my valumpuous fat rolls period

Negative experience: This place is a scam. They would lure you into signing a long term membership and then misguide you so they can keep charging you. My one year membership was up for renewal and I specifically called them to cancel it. I was told to call on a specific day and when I did they told me there is nothing they can do and that they would charge me for another year. What a trap. Don’t even consider going here.

Positive experience: Has everything you need and environment is friendly. The only big issue is there are many young members who don’t re-rack their weight or wipe down the equipment after use. This should be more strictly enforced and is bare minimum etiquette.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been told by several people to ditch planet fitness and come join crunch especially the aurora location since it’s closer to my job I can go before or after work… so I spoke with the gm Kamal to further assist my workout needs he explained to me a plan and made me feel for one welcomed and it’s definitely a better deal…will be considering joining them and canceling my membership with planet only because the manager was informal and the travel is more convenient.

Fantastic experience: I'm lucky to have Crunch Aurora so close to home. They're extremely friendly and truly non-judgmental. The gym is bright, comfortable and clean and Erika Jurgenson is the best personal trainer. She's knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and overall just a great person. Positive experience: Not the best not the worst nice gym atmosphere but some people are rude when you go here to workout.
Positive experience: I decided not to go into a membership with this gym after trying it out for the first time. I like the fact that they have a variety of classes but the gym space in general is ok. Not enough cleaning material stations to encourage people to clean the machines after use so it’s a little unkept. Also, there was a promotion going on during the time I visited for a $1 enrollment fee instead of $49, the young man at front desk tried to sell me on the full membership price for like $80 bucks! No thanks. Looks like there are cancellation fees here too.. something to be aware of.
Negative experience: The only plus I have if I choose to go to this gym is it takes only 2 min to drive there. But the crowd is unruly. Not decent gymers. They don't have enough plates and ez bars. They don't have enough leg press machines. Also the look and feel is gloomy and it was stinking in there. On top of that read a lot of reviews that they keep charging you even when you quit. So I will not recommend it.
Negative experience: Avoid bringing your dollar here! This people are rude and aggressive and will send you to collection for money that you do not actually owe them! Seems like they are running some sheme here. Full storry bellow: Last winter, while on a walk around the neighbourhood, I had a (bad) idea to sign up. I wasn’t really intending to go to this place but decided to $25 a month is not a lot of money to support my local gym and to make sure I contribute to local business striving. They where charging my credit card on a regular basis and I even forgot about this, until one day they started harassing me with phone calls (3 times a day, 5 days a week!) demanding further payments. I told them at that point that I am not using their services and do not plan to do so in the future and asked them to stop any further calls and charges. Which they declined to do untill I payed them whatever amount they thought that I owed them at that point, and they will keep adding to my bill indefinetely until I actually pay. I only signed a month to month contract and was not under any obligation to pay them.
Negative experience: It is true what most reviews are pointing out. While gym is great and while you have no issues then its good but as soon as there is a problem expect to jump through hoops to get it fixed. I was given wrong info and charged $90 that i then requested a refund and was told that it will be processed. After multiple attempts and weeks asking about it, still no refund. I got tired of this and canceled my membership. Month later still no refund and on top of that they charged my bank again. I am disputing with my bank since at this point they are stealing my money. Shame
Fantastic experience: This is the place where workouts and community overlap in a meaningful way. The offerings for workouts are diverse, unique, and tailored for whatever you’re looking for.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, no judgment, no one push sails of programs, I get to work out in peace. Great and friendly staff too.

Negative experience: Used to go here yrs ago, but people weren't wiping machines down even before COVID. Shut down happened and I'm no longer going since a gym is one of the highest risk places to catch the illness. It's been over a year that I've stepped into this facility and I'm getting texts and calls bothering me to renew my membership even after telling them over the phone I'm no longer interested.
Negative experience: They wouldn't let my little brother go in the gym because the 18+ policy but there always kids at the gym the manager was dishonest with me and rude I canceled my membership

Negative experience: I called because I was charged 37$ after i cancelled when i was told no more charges, they also took two payments out and tried telling me only 1 payment came out and then charged me an additional 15$ for a late fee when NO payments were late, when i asked to speak to a manager regarding my payments she said they have no manager, the girl over the phone was very rude and kept saying , nope, no, no when i asked if there is anyone else i can speak too. this is my second time cancelling my membership because of the charges.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many crunch gyms, this one is definitely an older one but quite spacious. I usually go in the morning 6-8am and it’s never busy which is great, equipment is always available. Access to wipes, and locker rooms(men’s) is always clean. Yes, some people don’t wear masks but I keep mine on... so it doesn’t really bother me. To clarify the majority to wear their masks. Staff is friendly enough so I’d recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, good size, clean, not crowded. Good place for free weights, cardio machines, free workout in 30 yard open area. Have not tried the classes. Good bargain price.
Negative experience: I have to rate it 1 star for now. I hope to change it soon. Everything about the place is great: the equipment, the quality, the cleanliness. Except that more than half the people in there aren't wearing masks properly, if on their face at all, and there is nobody reinforcing it past the front desk. Now, I can't point my finger at a teenager working behind the desk for not standing up to one of their peers. I would be intimidated too. I hope they put dedicated hours in place for only those who are vaccinated and need to show a card. If not, then I'll be looking to go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: Evening everyone, I would like to say the staff in Aurora were Very Profesional but shoutout to the main man who helped me out which was Pete. Outstanding character, guy I would personally have a beer with. Never met the guy before and it was a great time talking to him about sports, injuries, and training. Only thing missing at Crunch is a Hack Squat machine.. other than that, solid place. Pete is the man to ask for.
Negative experience: I decided to go back to the gym despite covid. Before I renewed my membership I wanted to check out what new protocols were in place first. NOTHING CHANGED! I passed by brightly highlighted boards that said stuff like 'masks mandatory' and 'safety first!' only to find half the gym with masks half on or not on at all. There were no new disinfectant stations to wipe machines down but noone was wiping down stations anyway. I complained to the manager, he thanked me for letting him know and said he'd look into it. The gym is not that big, he could have literally turned around and 'looked into it' from the front desk. With plenty of staff on hand there was no reason for this irresponsibility. I wouldn't go back if they paid me now. It's not worth getting sick when other gyms are at least doing the bare minimum.
Fantastic experience: Amazing Customer Service! My account was accidently sent to collections due to a clerical error. I received the collections letter in the mail today 01/11/2021. I went over to Crunch in person and spoke with the Manager Pete Williams, who went above and beyond to service my needs. Pete was attentive, listened to my concerns, and was able to provide information about the clerical error. Pete took it upon himself to call his boss to explain the situation and remedy a solution. Pete was apologetic and took ownership of the situation, even though this clerical error was not even his fault. Pete is a Rockstar Manager. I am so thankful and grateful for Pete. Once I am fully healed from my back injury I will be a member of Crunch Fitness again. Thank you so much for your time today Pete! It is people like Pete who make this world a better place! Negative experience: I belong to Christ had a different state. I’m in town visiting family and I’m going to the gym. I have never seen so much the parkway. My favorite machine is the elliptical. The ones they have do you not even pause to let you flip from going forward to reverse. It also turns out it resets the second you stop and there’s no grace period. I have worked out for over 20 years and I have always loved an elliptical and I have never in my life had so many problems! This is extremely disappointing. Also my gym in another state due to corona does way more to try to keep it clean and this Jim has done nothing ever since this pandemic from what I can see. Extremely disappointing!
