Fantastic experience: Eddy was awesome! I'm a bodybuilder visiting from Germany and I wanted to visit an American gym with good equipment and cool amenities. Eddy was cool enough to not only offer a week pass, but gave me a tour of the gym as well. He also was very personal and showed me his cool anime collection at his desk. I appreciate the conversation and was glad he wasn't robotic. Definitely give this man a raise. His energy and efforts are very welcoming in a gym community. The gym itself has a nice layout with the weight room upstairs with panaromic windows. Cardio on the downstairs floor. Very nice facility. Dankeschon (Thank you) Eddy!

Positive experience: I briefly attended this location as I’d had a poor experience at the Westroads Location. It was less busy and smaller. I liked the atmosphere. I came a couple times to cancel my membership in person (because that’s what I was told I had to do). The first time one of the managers persistently asked me questions about why I wanted to cancel and after I shared my less than stellar experience with a personal trainer at the Westroads location, he tried selling me on their trainers at Cass Street location. When I told him I felt more comfortable with a female trainer, he said their male trainers are good and that members say they get a “better workout with male trainers than with females”. I asked if he was saying that I wouldn’t get a quality workout from female trainers or trying to insult them in some way. I asked him to just move along to cancel my membership after that. He then was persistent about the fee to cancel (it was $200). I told him that I was willing to pay the fee and be done. He insisted that I wait until the end of my contract to cancel. I waited and came back again to cancel in person and was finally able to somewhat more smoothly go through the process. That’s my only harp about this location honestly. The experiences I had with trying to cancel, but I guess it makes sense since they don’t want you to cancel in order to continue to profit off of you and others.

Fantastic experience: Edi was the best to work with. I wanted a place to work out while my child was in for an extended hospital stay and he was more than accommodating and super helpful. The gym itself is clean and full of various workout equipment. My first workout was two hours just because there was so much to do. I highly recommend this gym.
Negative experience: I was going to regularly. Machines broken and not being fixed, bathrooms dirty machines dirty, and jacuzzi about slimy as well as the sauna. The floor in the sauna with gross!! The guys spitting on the floor ick!!! . They said they cleaned it everyday but I don't believe that because the floor would feel so slimy.After about 3 weeks of going there my hands had a rash from the dirty machines. I talked to the assistant manager and he said he worked out a couple times a day and he didn't think it was bad it all. So as of now after talking to him he didn't even care. I am going to discontinue my membership but I will definitely find another place to go that's cleaner.
Fantastic experience: Visiting from Denver needed a couple of workouts and came to Genesis in Omaha. Awesome experience from the moment I stepped into the health club! Very friendly people especially the front desk staff person Cali, Club Manager Darshaun and all of the other employees I’ve encountered! Thank you sooo much you’ve made my workout even better!! Negative experience: This club is a complete dump compared to the other genesis clubs in town. I cant speak for the womens restrooms/locker rooms but Ive been to cleaner port o lets at an outdoor music festival than this places mens locker room. Things are always dirty things are always broken I stopped going a long time ago.

Negative experience: The vibe is careless indeed. I asked for a discount and was dismissed immediately, without the person even closely looking into my contract. While I will continue going there, it's just sad how inattentive staff are and how dirty it is, they act very mediocre/overly friendly, but the price is for a luxury gym

Negative experience: You would think with a new regime in place things would get better , I will say for the most part the staff at the front desk is friendlier and more attentive, however just like before whenever anything gets broke it seems like it takes an act of congress to get it fixed as I'm writing this there is standing water in one of the showers that's been there over 2 weeks it's nasty and a health hazard , swimsuit dryer has been down over a week nothing changes if nothing changes

Positive experience: decently old machines, machines break often and are usually not fixed for weeks. Only one pec fly and its been broken the whole time I’ve been here. (1 year) the pec fly arms are slightly different because of a loose bolt, has never been fixed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Genesis a couple times and every time I go there I enjoy myself. There are two employees that go above and beyond for everyone: La’Khai and Alyssa. They are great employees.

Fantastic experience: Oh my goodness! Talk about INTEGRITY?! In my haste, jumping out my car and running into the gym for class, my wallet fell out of my purse and was laying on the ground when one of Genesis' associate, Mr. T.L. just HAPPENED to be coming in to work just behind me & saw my wallet on the ground. He obviously picked it up and brought it into the gym. Of course everything was intact: from money, my Military ID, & my little QuikTrip aspirins I was in my car and headed home, then came back to the gym to check the locker room and, of course, my wallet was nowhere to be found. I go home, call the gym only to learn that my wallet lay happily and quietly in a drawer for me to pick up. Once again your service, helpfulness, kindness and your integrity is A cut above the rest and I appreciate you. Thank you so much, TL , another young lady, and Jolene! Negative experience: Walked in to this location from my main location and the staff was sitting on the counters, had no towels for anyone and gave a careless vibe. For someone that visited from another location, this was highly disappointing and won’t recommend this location to anyone. Management needs to have higher standards for their staff.

Positive experience: This place is a scam. My partner cancelled mine and their memberships months ago (keep in mind, I was and still do not work due to autoimmune issues so the charges were in my partner's name). Fast forward months and they tried to charge my partner but sent me a letter saying I owed them money. I'll be taking this case to the BBB if it does not get dropped. Edited star review: I was finally able to get a hold of someone whom did close my account and refunded all after I explained the situation. Thus I did raise my star review as I appreciate the response.

Positive experience: Typically my experience at this gym is par, though today I have felt compelled to write a review after an absolutely traumatizing experience. I normally work out in the morning hours, but since I have sought new employment my availability allowed me to do my iron bun workouts at approximately 12pm today. BIG. MISTAKE. Now im not sure if the lunch crowd from the Hacienda Real down the road was stopping by or what, but as soon as I walked into the entrance to the locker rooms, near the pool entrance, and GREAT HEAVENS TO BETSY my sinus cavities were brutally assaulted. The stench...I cannot even begin to describe to you the horrors. I needed to change into my exercise clothing so I had no option but to endure the odor assassination for approximately 3 minutes, which was far too long. I thought I was going to be sick. I go to do my iron bun workout and come back to wizz and wash my hands 1 hour and 17 minutes later. The STENCH IS STILL THERE. I go to answer nature's call and there it is, in one of the stalls. The crime scene. The source of my agony. Someone had backed up the restroom so badly that it could be smelled throughout the entire locker room. Now, I know this is no fault of the gym which is why I am not leaving 1 star. But how long has the crime scene been left uninvestigated? How long until janitorial services will attend to this pressing issue? I fear for others' lives if this is not investigated ASAP. My therapist has already had enough of my calls, and I am afraid another is in order after this.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this location! I originally signed up for a free 7 day pass because I’ve never been to a gym before. The manager was able to give me an AMAZING deal and I’ve lived here ever since. The staff here is absolutely AWESOME. A big thanks to the staff down at Cass st.

Positive experience: Great gym with plenty of exercise equipment and weights, a pool and a hot tub, a sauna, steam room and basketball court. Friendly staff and guests. Another benefit is it’s not too overcrowded. The only thing I would suggest is for them to do maintenance on some equipment that has become squeaky, and some benches that have rips on them could be replaced. Overall 4/5 would recommend for the price

Fantastic experience: This gym has stepped up recently! I don’t know what changed but the entire place is so much cleaner and looks so much better! I stopped going to this location because the previous night employee was rude and the place was always dirty. The new gal Alyssa who works the night shift now is amazing! She goes above and beyond to create a positive workout atmosphere! Keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Criminal, crooked bad facilities, staph infection vectors everywhere and the people at the front counter leer at the women who walk in. Disgusting. Filing a complaint with the BBB

Negative experience: Edit: GO TO VASA!! Less than 1/2 the price and the quality isn’t even comparable. This Genesis is absolutely trashed and dangerous. I cannot justify coming back here at this point Solely focused on selling memberships. Not a well taken care of facility. Membership rules are confusing and frequently change. Since 2022, the water has been tasting and smelling like the shower drains in the locker room. This is incredibly concerning and if it’s not fixed soon, there needs to be an investigation. The owner of Genesis Health Clubs, Rodney Stevens, and his family needs to also be further investigated along with the crimes they have already been investigated for. This man is a stain on our community.

Positive experience: During the cold weather the pool heater quit and the water temperature was below 70 degrees (F) And that started in November, and as of today the heater is not working 2/6/23 and the temperature was 72 degrees and they do not know when it will be fixed, so as a swimmer I am very disappointed in your service on the pool portion. I could go to another facility but all are several miles away and that isn't what I paid for. The people at the facility are only authorized to apologize. Would you suggest I look for a different Company?

Negative experience: I quit my membership mainly because the gym is so dirty and never cleaned. The equipment breaks often and is not able to be used for weeks even months. It’s pricy for the quality of the gym so I would go elsewhere!

Fantastic experience: Of the commercial gyms I’ve been in genesis is my favorite. Has everything I need and more for a good workout and recovery. Staff is always friendly too!

Negative experience: Place is a joke. Never have anything stocked. Pieces missing from equipment and not a very clean place for a "Health Club". For $50 a month you'd expect a little better. Also the fact that there is no way to cancel a membership online is one of the most brand dead decisions I've ever seen. Would not recommend Genesis to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I frequent this location the majority of my visits, as it is a superb workout facility. The staff are always helpful, and attentive. The gym is always clean, and the ambiance is refreshing. Thanks again!!

Fantastic experience: Nice gym Some good options for different workouts- like box jumps, wheel flips etc. Lap swim options that are usual open. Basketball court which not all the Genesis have.

Negative experience: Jan 1 2023....your not open till 9am....horrible. You have had sinks and a urinal broke for 6 months. Equipment takes for ever to get fixed. You actually have a member who sleeps on equipment! No one is ever upstairs to moniter behavior. If that location wasn't so close with a few machines that work with my disabilities ID m ever go there. Just hope they would get a manager that cares. They need to do something about the dirty bathrooms, lack of equipment maintenance, bent bars ect.... there parking lot needs to be plowed of snow so there's places to park. Your holiday hours stink.

Positive experience: Good gym but could definitely use some new equipment and needs to be cleaned and maintained more often - and somebody should sweep or mop the basketball court every once in a while

Fantastic experience: I'm not a member here but my grandmother is and has been for nearly 15 years. She is part of the Renew Active program for seniors through United and we ran into some issues with her membership when she decided to return after several years due to Covid19. The Assistant Manager Christian not only remembered who she was when I called to assess the issue but he stated he's known her for years but went ABOVE AND BEYOND speaking with United and Membership Services to help me out and get my grandmother back into the gym. It was beyond refreshing to have someone not only be so kind and polite but to actively help solve an issue over the course of several days for my Grandmother. It's comforting to know people in customer service are still this way and particularly for seniors. Truly a wonderful person and if you come to Genesis for a membership, just ask for him to get the best customer experience, ever.
Negative experience: Don’t really think it’s fair to have new members pay the annual fee, when we haven’t even been there for the year. Also, where is that money going? I haven’t seen any gym improvements since they got the turf area, and machines are broken all the time. The same machines have been broken for going on two weeks now it seems like. If you’re going to charge a premium price for the gym, maybe maintain it to a premium standard? The locker room has seen better days, some missing doors, some mold in the corners and the lack of bathrooms is noticed in the men’s room. I wish I could give half a star, most likely will not be renewing my membership.The other older locations are seeing the same treatment as well. Genesis has really fallen.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to the Cass st location for 5 months now. Everyone is friendly, clean facility and usually never have to wait for a matching. Jolene always answers my questions and is very helpful

Positive experience: Giving a chance because there is definitely room for improvement! Great gym. Friendly staff. If you're interested.. make sure you stop in to see Ben! Now, for the disappointing.. Each time I've come to the gym it has been in the same state of ick! The women's locker room consistently in disarray.. garbage on the floors, showers in a sad state. I usually just come for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub usually has some kind of nastiness floating in it. The pool also had stuff floating in it. Positive, they do have pool noodles and foam weights. I wish they had kick boards. The main "lounge" area has had the same nasty greasy spot on the cushion for 2 months! The coffee table also was gross! My nephew reported to me about the mens locker room. There was a myriad of personal belongings all over the locker room. He did report that there wasn't trash all over and was generally clean and didn't smell bad. He did report that trying to figure his way out of the locker room to the pool was very confusing. I will update if I see a change for the better or unfortunately worse. This seems like 100% a cleaning person issue.

Fantastic experience: I’ve enjoyed every aspect of this club. Tried several other clubs and this one stands out. Organized and well ran. Had a chance to speak with an employee there named Jake and he seemed to be very knowledgeable and had a good understand of my goals and how to help me accomplish them. Absolutely will recommend this club to friends and family.

Negative experience: I usually come at night and the overnight personnel are extremely neglectful. The locker rooms are full of trash and towels. They hardly ever have clean towels for patrons. Seems like staff are more interested in their computer than attending to the gym and its conditions. I don’t have an issue with them working on the computer but they can’t help if you need something leaving you to return during the day.

Negative experience: Please do NOT waste your money here. I have been going here for two years and nothing has gotten better. There is constantly more than one person at the desk and they still cannot refill the toilet paper in the bathrooms, paper towels to wipe off machines, or make time to fix the many machines that are always out of order. You pay almost $50 a month for what? They’ve had bats, awful water damage, and still have the nerve to charge monthly bill plus membership dues every 6 months that is not used to make the facility better. Please do not get yourself stuck in a contract here, you will regret it. If you do, I recommend asking for a tour to see for yourself what I’m talking about.
