Fantastic experience: I climb in the SF bay and found this gym to be very satisfyingly set in the v6-8 range, with more complexity in many of the routes and more varied wall shapes. Where my usual gyms increase difficulty by making bigger launches with tinier edges, many of the routes here used heavy tension and compression that I rarely get to flex otherwise. Would love to have a magical portal to Arcata so I could climb here more often.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience on my journey back south from the Redwood State and National Park. The manager, who had a cute dog called Tofu, was very welcoming and gave me a day pass (15$). I was even able to cook my cheese quesadilla and watch Netflix in the gym parking lot without feeling like an outcast. Much appreciated for the good vibes!

Fantastic experience: I'm really fond of this gym. I'm more into bouldering than the traditional rope climbing, and the place is tailored for that. There are plenty of routes, a variety of wall shapes, and the staff are great at providing difficult puzzles for climbers.

Positive experience: The best (and only, from my experience) climbing gym in Humboldt has a clear focus on developing interesting climbing obstacles and fostering a sense of community. However, there is a bit of a high barrier to entry for newcomers, and there isn't a lot of instruction once you're there, so it might be a good idea to brush up on the basics of climbing gyms and bouldering before going. It seemed that the last time I was there, the routes were more suited to experienced climbers than beginners, although they were in the process of remodeling two walls.

Fantastic experience: Taking a brief pause from your routine to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and relax in the fresh air is a great way to spend some time.

Fantastic experience: Privately owned bouldering gym. Excellent setting and sandbagged routes. No freebies. It's a great community of local climbers. A most resource for anyone who wants to climb on the north coast.

Fantastic experience: My son (9 years old) LOVES the after school program (Spider Monkeys). The staff is extremely knowledgeable and create a fun safe environment for the kids to climb.

Fantastic experience: Great spot to climb indoors. Lots of space to accommodate all climbing levels. Can get membership or drop in. Price seemed reasonable to me. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is limited and entrance is not very noticable from the street.
