Fantastic experience: Victory MMA is hands down one of the best training facilities in San Diego. The pro team at this gym is top-notch, offering a combination of world-class trainers and a high-quality facility that sets it apart. Their equipment is state-of-the-art, ensuring a safe and effective environment for every level of athlete, from beginners to seasoned fighters. The trainers bring a world-class style of coaching, blending technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping their students improve. From striking to grappling, you can feel the professionalism and commitment in every session. Additionally, the customer service here is phenomenal. Even as someone who isn’t yet a member, I was impressed by how welcoming and accommodating the staff are. They truly make you feel like part of the team. While I haven’t had the chance to join as a member, I can confidently say that this gym offers everything an MMA enthusiast or professional could ask for. I hope to become a member in the future and experience everything Victory MMA has to offer firsthand. For now, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the best in MMA training.

Negative experience: I don’t attend Victory MMA, but I often see individuals representing the gym at my local EōS. Unfortunately, many of them come across as intimidating and confrontational, seemingly looking to assert dominance over other gym-goers. It’s unsettling to watch people wearing Victory MMA apparel act this way, especially when it feels like they’re treating public gyms as places to show off aggressive behavior. I've already had problems with 1 of their members and had to report him to the fitness instructor manager because he got in my face when I was using the punching bag to do my cardio exercise, and he almost put his hands on me. For anyone just trying to work out peacefully, the presence of people who seem to be wanting to ‘test’ their skills on untrained civilians is pretty uncomfortable. A gym that teaches respect for others would emphasize responsible conduct and discourage this kind of atmosphere, but it doesn’t seem like that’s a priority, apparently just as long as the person pays with cash/card and signs a waiver is the only thing that matters.

Fantastic experience: Came to San Diego for vacation and wanted to swing by Victory MMA. I stopped at another place prior and it just didn’t feel welcoming. Coming through Victory, all the staff were nice, professional and friendly. I got to experience getting one on one time with Dean Lister and it was great! Great place, great atmosphere and great sparing. I would definitely go here if I moved here!

Negative experience: A few years back I had a seizure during their youcrossfit class and I was attacked and held down. They wouldn't let me go. I screamed and screamed and they held me down even tighter. They called the police on me who hancufed me to the ambulance bed. My brain was foggy and I was confused and had no memory of the event. I was taken to the hospital and police told me I did nothing wrong and i was later diagnosed as having a seizure. The owner called me the next day and didnt take any responsibility for his staff not being trained in first aid aand attacking me. Dont join you will put Your safety at risk and may get attacked and traumatized

Fantastic experience: In the California area!? do yourself the favor of making your way to this fine establishment. Let’s talk about QUALITY and AFFORDABILITY!!! I spent time in CA for 3 months. I attended victory during my time there. I trained with the oh so talented nate and did classes in between my personal training sessions! Walking into a mma gym especially one with a high reputation can be perceived as intimidating. That was not the case when I entered the gym from the greeting of the professional victory front desk ladies to the coaches that do one on one and groups. They work together to help you reach your goal in a gradual way. I was guided in a non intimidating way through each workout that made me feel safe to grow during my time there. PETE!! a.k.a AP/Aaron is such a solid, energetic, talented, talented again lol soul!!! Take his classes!!! He works with beginners to fighters level and higher!!! All the trainers manny (tick), James, Mike lemaire and the many others! These are top tier fighters that are passionate about helping others on their fitness journey to professional status. The facility is always clean and kept up to date. There is a weight lifting gym, sauna, cold plunge, lockers and they sell so many products to suit your needs. I’m done talking! Anyone who is anyone and in California def go to victory AND you get to try the gym for 7 free days. You can’t lose. It’s a family in victory. I love this gym and will def be back when I’m back in California. Love you guys I sound like a spokesperson lmbo I promise I’m not. I’m just a satisfied client!!

Fantastic experience: Warning!! The free week does not apply to out of towners despite what the website and confirmation email say. They make you pay $20 for a day. The actual gym seems like a Jocko promotional. The ground floor is a giftshop selling "Discipline equals Freedom" shirts and the works while every inch of the wall is covered with "Home of the Jocko podcast" posters and paint. Don't get me wrong, I love Jocko. His gym just seems so anti-Jocko. His gym is the opposite of gritty and rugged. First mma gym I've been to with infrared saunas, an ice bath, and cryotherapy. I took the beginner no gi class and had a good time. The instructor, Bryan, was amazing. His class was very fun and informative! He framed things in a way that is going to change the trajectory of my BJJ journey for the better! REPLY: I think I just woke up a hater that morning. Anyways I changed the ratings to 5 stars because you do have a great gym. Also in case I ever meet Jocko I want to look him in the eyes guilt-free.

Negative experience: Their parking lot sucks. Wanted to try my first week and I never found parking lot at this place. It’s always so crowded. I was 20 min early for my class and the 20 min I was going around looking for a parking lot. The hotel is private and they don’t even have parking lot for this gym. At the gym they told me you can park anywhere around the gym.I tried and then a woman said this is not a parking lot for the gym, you can’t be here. So very disappointed and also the service at the front desk was not good, not helpful.

Fantastic experience: Victory MMA & Fitness is everything I hoped it would be! Great facilities and the faculty was excellent. I was just visiting the gym from Texas and Brody (trainer) asked me if I was going to train this morning. I expressed to tell him that I would've loved to but I experienced an injury and couple weeks prior that would prevent me from doing so. He then inquired about the injury and asked if he could help. Brody explained to me his credentials and said he's seen my injury before. I enthusiastically accepted his offer. Big shout out to Brody! His expertise is much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Started training at this gym called Victory MMA & Fitness. Since my daughter was a little girl, I’ve been wanting to get her in a fight class. My daughter is 21 years old now, we tried this place out for a week free and fell in love with this place. Probably the best part of it, is the owner Joe. A real genuine salt of the earth dude, who has provided an amazing place for the community to get in shape, learn how to defend yourself, and pretty much learn all levels of self defense from a beginner to a professional fighter. I’m so excited and stoked to be a part of this team and to learn the invaluable lessons this MMA Gym has to offer. The monthly membership is affordable for people of even minimal means, $59 a month for all the classes and they have a gym, so we don’t have to double up on a gym membership and a MMA membership. Thank you Joe and your team for providing such a wonderful place for us to cultivate relationship, and be part of a place that merges the ancient, respectable, and honorable cultures of MMA with the western world. Fantastic experience: I came while visiting SD on business because of the Jocko Podcast to participate in my first ever Jiu Jitsu class. The class was with Jeff Glover, and despite being taught for individuals with a lot more experience than I, he effectively introduced topics in such a manner that I learned a ton. Despite getting submitted a bunch, I had a blast! Everyone was very helpful and encouraging. It's a shame I don't live in SD, or I would inevitably frequent the gym.

There is a vibe of mutual respect from teachers and students alike. This gym has so much to offer and if you are serious about training is greatly priced.

I ended up having to leave the country to work, and Joe helped me cancel my membership. If I ever move back to San Diego, I will definitely train here again.

Keep you on your toes and the instructors know how to really break down the art of jiu jitsu. I would not go anywhere else in San Diego for MMA training. Fantastic experience: I've been training here for the past two years and it's been the best fitness experience I've ever had. They offer morning classes to help start your day out right and Tony is an incredible teacher. Everyone is really nice and if you want a fitness challenge, this is definitely the place to be. Fantastic experience: What an incredible place. Joe and all the staff and coaches are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. You just feed off the energy and work ethic from everyone in the place. In my first Muay Thai class I was surrounded by people working extremely hard and having fun and it really pushed me. The gym is huge and so cool to be able to have so much open gym equipment available.

I recommend this gym to anyone who stays at Wyndham near sea world. Or anyone who is thinking about moving, or has moved to the area. THE BEST KEPT SECRET IS CROSS FITNESS ROOM. Fantastic experience: Everything about this gym is great!! It's clean, there are plenty of different areas to use and have classes in, and they have Everything. If you want to get in shape they have boot camp and crossfire programs, Wana get busy, they have, Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, gi and no-gi, they have teams in Muay Thai and Ameuter MMA, they also have the pros of Alliance MMA team. They have a good weight room, lots of heavy bags, saunas, ice bath, nice showers, lockers, come on by and check it out. You'll be glad you did!!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at victory! Just visiting for the day was ridiculously cheap, I lifted, hit the heavy bags, and even got a semi private lesson in jiu jitsu by one of the black belts for 20$ Total. ON TOP of that I even got to meet the man himself Jocko! He was very gracious and so friendly letting me take a picture and even signed my copy of extreme ownership. Highly recommend this gym overall and honored to meet such an inspiring man grateful to see he’s the same in person as online!

Fantastic experience: Victory is the gold standard for MMA gyms in San Diego. They have world class instructors for muay thai and BJJ as well as other fitness classes to choose from. I dated around other MMA/BJJ gyms in SD and Victory wins over all of them in price and quality of classes. You'll sweat through your shirt taking one of Mike's muay thai classes and raise your BJJ IQ in Dean's/Bryan's classes. You won't get this high level of MMA instruction at such low price anywhere else. Join Victory MMA now! You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I've been training here for seven months but have to quit now because of an upcoming move. All things considered, Victory MMA provides great value. It's a fantastic place to learn something new, challenge yourself, get in shape, and make some new friends in the process. I have only been doing BJJ and really enjoyed the classes. The weight section is a bit small but has all the essentials and is typically not very busy. If I ever move back to San Diego, I'll be right back! Note however that there's a 30 day notice to quit. I missed it by three days and ended up paying an extra month that I'm unable to use, which leaves a sour aftertaste.

Fantastic experience: this gym maybe my favorite gym of all time! New to BJJ, and MMA style training all together, but the community, support, and training here at Victory has made me an instant addict. Dean, Craig, Bryan, and Greg are all exceptional teachers along with an awesome all Women's class on Saturday and Wednesday to build confidence before jumping on the mat as a female. Love this crew, and the vibes are always right.

Fantastic experience: Went to Saturday morning jiu jitsu while I was in town for a bachelor party. Coach Bryan Dyer was awesome and challenged the class to try the flying triangle choke, which we did of course. I talked to Joe Mannino before flying out and he was very helpful and informative with their rates and schedule. Awesome place, great staff, great coaches.

Fantastic experience: I've been doing BJJ on and off for 1 1/2 yrs. I was at two other gyms prior to Victory. Honestly, I love all the coaches here. Greg, Adam, Eric, Nick, Bryan, they have all been some great coaches I've had the pleasure of working with. And can't forget Dean Lister. It instantly felt like family here, and I've learned an incredible amount of knowledge doing the jui jitsu training here. There's a fair amount of women that have been coming, and there are some great guys that I can roll with that I don't have to worry about getting injured versus another gym that I previously attended(where I would be out for a month or two due to the injuries). I have been blown away by this place, and I have only been here for a few months. Unfortunately, due to my career, I must leave the state for a bit, but if I'm back in the area, I will 100% return. My jui jitsu game has gotten so much better, and I owe it all to Victory and its amazing instructors/professors. Thanks for the staff for always being so welcoming every time I show up. Good day/bad day. Ya'll are amazing. Keep up the great work. Wish I had more time to check out the other classes offered here. But Gi and No Gi are amazing here.

Fantastic experience: Victory MMA is legendary and it is literally one of the most positive, impactful and magical places in all of San Diego. We are incredibly lucky we found Victory MMA and everything is amazing about it - from the very welcoming owner (Joe, thank you for being a phenomenal human being) to the trainers (Adam M., you are a legendary trainer) to the staff, the equipment, the setup and the energy. I cannot say enough great things about this place - generous, kind, world-class people that helped my 13yo daughter fall in love with martial art and are instilling confidence, sense of hard work and commitment to fitness in her. This is a temple of self-reliance, yet the community of people who train there knows no equal. We are blessed to have this place in San Diego and I strongly recommend you to discover it for yourself. PS On top of everything, their prices are unbeatable. I have no idea why they are not charging twice for what they deliver.

Fantastic experience: Let me save you some time looking for a gym… if you want legit training, by world class trainers, this is the spot. Not only is this one of the nicest all around gyms, but all staff and trainers are top of the line. Not to mention the price, other Mma gyms charge $150+ just for one discipline, here it’s $99 for everything!!!!

I had nothing but good experiences here from day one! The sheer variety of training, the talent amongst the coaches, and the overall friendliness of the members makes this place truly unique! It has everything from kids and fitness classes for everyday people to elite level MMA and jiu jitsu training for pros! Whatever you want, Victory will deliver! I had great Muay Thai instructors in Tony and Steve and of course world class Jiu-Jitsu from Adam, Dean, Jocko, and everyone else! This is an outstanding gym! If I move back to San Diego I will sign up again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: I had to move due to the pandemic but Victory is the first place I ever rolled and took classes. One of the best academies on the planet in my opinion. Shouts out to Coach Craig, he makes concepts easy to understand and is a great teacher for the new guys as well as veterans. I lost over 30lbs at this gym and learned the art of Bjj and for that I’m thankful. Keep up the good work y’all.

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything under one roof: free weights, a crossfit area for Olympic lifts, and tons of classes for a variety of martial arts (Boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, Wrestling, MMA, etc.). They have classes for every skill level and even have a variety of classes for kids. Ontop of that the owner is a fantastic guy who made me feel welcome immediately. All my interactions with the staff have been great and theres a real family vibe to the place. There's no sleazy sales tactics or hidden fees like most gyms. It's a great example of how every business should be run: provide tons of value and quality to your clients while being upfront and honest. I just couldn't recommend this place more.

Fantastic experience: This is the first mentally healthy gym I have ever trained in during 40 years of martial arts training. The leadership here is an unbelievable team of coaches. People do not know how lucky they are to train here. I have trained here for 3 years and could not be more excited about the level of training that is offered at Victory gym!

Fantastic experience: If you're into mma, boxing, jiu jitsu, wrestling, or CrossFit - Victory is the place for you. I've wrestled my whole life and since moving to San Diego from the East coast have missed the no nonsense, supportive environment only found at a true gym. I'd suggest anyone try out Victory, even if you've never done any of the fight sports before. It's got the right classes for new people and veterans. I dig this place!

Fantastic experience: Started training here a couple of months ago - and see no reason to leave. Knowledgeable, experienced, and professional instructors. Staff and members were very welcoming and friendly. Big (CLEAN) facility with plenty of equipment to train. They genuinely support our active military and veterans, it's not just a tagline for business. The price seems very reasonable. My only critique: the front desk staff could use a customer service and telephone etiquette refresher course, but don't let that be a deciding factor! Highly recommended! Fantastic experience: I've been attending the boxing classes at Victory for a month now. I signed up on the second day of my week-long trial because I knew this was the kind of gym I wanted to go to. I've taken classes with Coach James and Coach Tony--both of them are amazing teachers who foster a challenging but fun learning environment. I also love how the people there jump in the classes ready to get to work and help each other out. Reasonable pricing with special discounts if you're military; just for the boxing classes alone, I'd say the membership is worth it. Glad to be a Victory member! :)

Fantastic experience: Full disclosure: I got linked into Victory MMA via my pal Jocko who’s a co-owner. Whenever I’m in training in San Diego, I make it a point to do a drop-in class. It’s very inexpensive but packed with high quality instruction and helpful students. I’m still a rookie white belt in BJJ, but everyone is patient and they make you feel comfortable and at home. Negative experience: No doubt the MMA aspect has led to concussions of the owner(s) of this business. The fact they are RAFFLING A PUPPY is a clear indicator of CTE. An absolute embarrassment to the city.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in San Diego. Been to most of them now and this is easily the best environment to learn in my opinion.

Negative experience: This is an irresponsible business that uses innocent animals as a "door prize". They're giving away a boxer puppy to just anyone who wins a contest. I'm sure the dog won't be spayed/neutered so the dog will just be used for breeding or sold to another random person. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. Bad bad business!!
