Negative experience: GROSS BATHROOMS. SMELLS LIKE PEE EVEN DURING STAFFED HOURS. I frequent this location, the one-on coal, and the one on 98th. Menaul is by far the grossest. Next time you're in the restroom take a look at the toilet paper dispenser and look at all the pee splashes
Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel my membership since May of this year. I called my home club and was sent to call another company regarding my membership. I sent all my information to the email addresses the lady on the phone provided, but after numerous emails and months I still am being charged. I’ve contacted this club multiple times, and the customer service department and I’m still being ignored. Even after the Better Business Bureau contacted them regarding my membership I still haven’t heard anything. My contract expired a few years ago. You are robbing me
Fantastic experience: Honestly this gym is fine. It's clean, spacious, and everything seems to work. It's not brand new, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I'd absolutely return again.

Negative experience: do not sign up. They will never answer their calls. Have called multiple times over the last few weeks to cancel - worst service. I have never left a bad review but it is impossible to cancel your membership. It's not worth your time.

Honestly, the negative reviews seem to come from people who didn’t get their way. Some folks seem to think good customer service means catering to every whim, but running a business is more complex than that. Brandon does an outstanding job managing this gym. Speaking as another Brandon myself, I’ve never met a bad one! He’s always professional, approachable, and puts in serious effort to make this gym the best it can be. From ensuring the gym is spotless to keeping the machines in top-notch condition, he’s constantly working behind the scenes to create a great environment. Brandon worked incredibly hard during the recent remodel, which shows just how dedicated he is. He went out of his way to get a new hack squat machine installed and advocated for the addition of a new water fountain—improvements that benefit everyone. He’s also created a space where members feel comfortable and welcomed, with zero tolerance for intimidation or harassment. It's a friendly environment where people can focus on their fitness without judgment. What stands out the most about Brandon is how much he genuinely cares. He knows 85% of the members by name and takes the time to connect with everyone. Yet, it’s funny how people are quick to leave a bad review when things don’t go exactly their way, but to leave a good one, it seems you need to move mountains. If you’re reading any negative reviews, know that they don’t paint the full picture. Brandon and Ramona do an amazing job, and this gym is proof of that.

Negative experience: I just called and Spoke to the gym manager Brandon at the Menaul location, I am shocked at the lack of professionalism, phone etiquette, and general lack in the "general manager". I am a career specialist; I find people jobs in the Albuquerque area. I would never want one of my clients going to work for Brandon, He wouldn't treat them well and they would quit. Not to mention Brandon himself told me that He can't keep employees ... Gee I wonder why?? He also stated it is better suited for kids in high school or persons on "section 8" than a professional adult. I think it is time for Anytime to invest in retraining Brandon or getting someone in there who can be a bit more professional .... and it Anytime can't find someone to fill the position they can contact me; I have plenty of qualified and willing to work applicants
Negative experience: Worse anytime fitness! Gym instructor is very selfish. It’s impossible to use the equipments if you’re independent from classes that the gym instructor is keeping. As an independent user I pay my money just like everyone else to utilize the equipments. However the gym instructor will create 12-15 circuits and take up all the components equipments which leave you with nothing! I would not recommend !!! I always love anytimes fitness gym because of how convenient they are but this one is a No No. stay away !!!!!

Negative experience: The personal training going on in the mornings weekdays and weekends has truly made it impossible to work out I don’t understand how 6 cable machines, lat pull down, 20s, 30s, 40s barbells need to be used for TWO PEOPLE even if they are not using the equipment they mark their territory. I tried going earlier and later and its the same issue. Everything is being hogged up you think to yourself okay all the machines are being used let me do free weights you go to the dumbbells and they are using every single one but the heavy 50+ dumbbells so you think okay let me get a barbell well guess what all the barbells are in use all the benches are in use the smith machine will not be touched by anyone that is not them. It’s an inconvenience to pay almost $40 monthly to watch other people work out because they pay for personal trainings. The entitlement they have is uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Negative experience: Review is based on both being a member of the gym and being an employee of the gym (so dealing with the usual billing disputes and owners and their practices) I'd give 1 star if it weren't a good gym at its core. It is 1 thing to have to fight to cancel your billing and membership and then keep them from recharging you months later. That's normal with gyms. We got to deal with them as employers after they offerend my teen a job. 1 owner does not value their employees. 1 owner is outright unethical and verbally abusive. 1 owner is very neurotic "because this is ABQ." Anyone they are lucky to have in their crew (lots of openings here!) is overworked and underpaid as well as put down as a person. I've never been talked to like I was in trying to defend my 15 year old kid from this owner while also trying to hear them out and bring them to some rational conclusion (I think we drink a lot). I wish I'd recorded our conversation!! We still talk about you Anytime fitness!! Years later, jobs later!! Be aware of who you are seding you $$ to.

Negative experience: Gym was not bad, but their financial aspect is atrocious. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for a week. They send you to ABC financial to cancel with them, but then they ask you to send a request to cancel membership by email only to tell you that there’s only two ways to cancel the membership, by injury with legit proof or moving 15 miles away also with legit proof. This is horrible, time & money consuming, and inanely irritating.
Fantastic experience: Been a member for over 3 years. Staff is awesome and so is ownership. Ownership and especially brandon very supportive in members goals. My self i've thrived on that environment from day 1 and have dropped 150 lbs. If you ever have questions or concerns talk directly to brandon 1st then management. Think of your membership as a investment on yourself. You cancle there are fee's, just like not comming to the gym you might tack on a few extra pounds before you get back into your routine. All in all open communication, kind words go a long way in life in the goals we set. Also equipment gets fixed in a timely manner and the one trainer mona is awesome hopefully another to come soon. So again communication is key to every day success, happiness and results. Stay healthy and fit ap family remeber be kind be resilient for each and everyone of eachother. This is a great resource for our community.

Negative experience: Brandon’s attitude is unprofessional, can’t work under stress.He may clean the bathrooms and machines great but good luck with any administrative help from him. Bottom line, don’t waste your money go to a gym where staff is actually friendly.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym it is super clean and well kept. Brandon, the manager there is an awesome person always greeting you with a smile. Super hard worker I go every day and there has not been a day that I’ve been there that he is not busy cleaning something he gets on his hands and knees and cleans the decks on the treadmill I have seen him dust every corner of the gym. Brandon is also very knowledgeable about training and is always willing to help out and give advice. I will be a forever member.
Negative experience: This single star is specifically for the manager with frizzy black hair. He's high-stress, condescending, unhelpful, and doesn't understand membership basics like how to cancel your membership. He gave me my agreement number and a phone number to ABC Fitness, their billing company, and told me the only way to cancel my membership was through that phone number. He treated me like I was a child, told me to deal with it, life doesn't always work the way you want, and insisted repeatedly that the only way to cancel was to call that number. And he was wrong. After 11 attempts to get through the obnoxious phone menu a very pleasant agent told me all I had to do was send an email to CustomerCare (at) ABCFitness dot com. So, the phone calls and the grueling phone menu weren't even necessary, all frizzy haired guy had to do was give me my agreement number and the email address. But he didn't even know that. And the owners are in Europe for the holidays, how nice for them to be absentees. If you're a member, write down that email address: CustomerCare (at) ABCFitness dot com, sooner or later you'll want to ditch this gym.
Negative experience: This manager or person in charge of this gym is pathetic. This is the only gym I have ever had so much trouble with in Abq! I contacted the gym and some guy with an attitude answered and after spending nearly 30 min trying to get him to understand what went on with my membership as I had to get a new debit card. He said I needed to give him my bank account number and what not which I was fine with even though I really didn't want to go that route as I've had issues with them in the past. Then the guy I was talking to said he would call me back in a few minutes never called back. When I called a couple hrs later no one would answer the phone. I decided to go with planet fitness which I've never had issues with. Fast forward a couple months later and Anytime fitness has now sent me to collections! This place is so pathetic and so are the workers! I would definitely avoid!!

Negative experience: I'm having a hard time understanding how their billing cycle works because whenever i started my membership I was told that my auto draft payment would be on a particular date each month and it has been sparatic and inconsistent
Negative experience: This gym is pretty close to where I live so I sign up for the “free trial”. Online it says 7 day free trial and when I went today they said that they don’t offer it. It actually cost 30 dollars for a week. Very upsetting because I wanted to see if I’d be switching to this gym since it’s closer to my house.
Fantastic experience: Brandon the manager was very helpful and respectful when getting me signed up! So far I’m off to a good start. Feels and looks like a good place to get healthy.
Negative experience: The manager here is very unprofessional! My one year membership ended and he charged me $30 for a 7 day trial instead of renewing my membership. After the 7 days he wanted to charge me double for the same month. When trying to contact their corporate office no one ever returns your call. Don't go to the Menaul location unless you want to get ripped off.
Negative experience: I AM HOPING THIS HELPS SOMEONE FROM BEING SUCKED INTO THIS AWFUL FACILITY! The any time fitness on Menaul is by far the worst gym i’ve ever been to. The facility is dirty. I never see anyone go in there and clean unlike all the other locations I go to. Their staff is rude and unprofessional. An employee named Brandon is very rude and unprofessional. The owner doesn’t even show his face at this facility unlike the OTHER locations where their owners are the most friendly and most professional. I am so disappointed that I had to be charged $40 a month to be treated this way. Even when I cancelled my membership I was still being charged $40 a month because their staff doesn’t do their JOB in helping guests have a “good” experience! I’ve been getting charged without consent for 5 months and it was like playing phone tag just to get ahold of someone and to get a refund! I really pray your owner sees this because y’all need to really step it up and get proper training on how to run a business and customer training as well. THANKS
Negative experience: This place is horrible! Their website offers a FREE week pass, but when you show up, they refuse to honor what they clearly state. Don't offer free passes, only to bait people into signing up. False advertising is a scam! If you truly wanted people to sign up, then a week pass shouldn't deter you! You might just get a new member if they can see the potential and experience of the gym. What if the weights and machines are broken? What if the restrooms aren't maintained? Shouldn't we get a chance to see for ourselves. You guys are in the wrong no matter what your hidden policies are. You guys are phonies! Your apologies will not be accepted, so don't even bother! Make sure you shred my ID you decided to make a copy of, or I will report you. I feel violated, I clearly asked for a week pass upon entering, and you just beckoned me into the office and took my ID, made a copy, and then charged me 30 dollars!
Negative experience: The one star is for the recording of AUDIO in the gym. Video is to be expected for safety but recording your private conversations or your part in a phone call is beyond the pale and legally questionable as the law in NM is murky on where expectation of privacy is in public. It is usually accepted that you have no expectation of privacy outdoors as in a park or public square. But in a members only gym? And the fine print on the one sign that is easily missed does not rise to the level of implied consent. Anyways, if you don't want the surveillance state tactics while you work out then I suggest you go to a different AF gym in Albuquerque.
Negative experience: The most disgusting gym I have ever been to. I walked in to change clothes and the first restroom was gross so I used a different one and I was so repulsed by how dirty this location was that I couldn’t bring myself to touch anything in it and left to find another location to work out at. I tried to look for a gym manager to ask if all locations were owned by the same owner so I wouldn’t waste my time going to a different dirty one because clearly this owner doesn’t take pride in his gym. I’ve never been so grossed out that I’ve actually left a gym before. The toilets were dirty, garbage on the floor, mirrors were dirty, it would kill them to take CLR to the sinks, and as I went to unlock the door there was actual grime by the lock and handle.
Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing! I have been a member for almost 2 years and It's worth every penny. Brandon is a staff member at this location and he is one of the hardest working individuals i've ever met. Brandon is constantly making sure the gym is clean and more importantly is extremely friendly to all guests. If anyone is looking for a great community gym....this is the spot!
Fantastic experience: Great fitness center! Nice people and this facility is extremely clean and well maintained. The machines are all really nice and easy to figure out how to use. They also have a 24-hour feature for various classes so you can take a class by yourself or with others any time of day utilizing taped classes. You just use a kiosk to pick your class, a screen comes down, and the class begins for you. Being open 24/7 is a huge bonus.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a few gyms within Albuquerque and this one is by far my favorite. The staff are also the owners. They are always so friendly and make you feel at home. The convience of having my own key to get in at any point allows me to have unlimited time and options for my workout. I am so glad to be a member of this gym!

Negative experience: I went on website to see their prices, no information on that but they offer a 7 day free pass which I signed up for online and scheduled an appointment for more info and the free pass. I’m new to the area bc we travel for my husband’s job that’s why I’m looking for a gym that’s walking distance for me. I walk over to this location a few minutes early for appt., the person that was suppose to meet me there never showed up. A lady (trainer) that’s not an employee, was the only nice person to walk up to me and tell me that this place does NOT honor the free pass that’s offered online wth, I have an email & txt message confirming the approval with this location’s address. They need to get their act together

I have been trying to remedy a situation for 4 months now, meanwhile I’m getting charged, with no communication on their part. This is not a place that cares about community or community members.
Positive experience: I absolutely love working out here. For the most part its clean and not so busy so it's easy to use the machines. The only reason I'm not giving this one 4-5 stars is because their treadmills are garbage! Hopefully they can update them soon. If they ever do that i will chance my score.

Positive experience: Not bad, all the basic stuff and the water was running. But as masks are mandated in the facility which is good but no social distancing. Granted space is limited but at power down a few machines.
Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel my membership for the past 3 months. After Covid-19 I became really fearful of going back to a gym. I have somewhat underlying health conditions, and I am around my wife’s parents and grandparents every now and then. I do not have intentions of going back to the gym, however my wife is still being charged for a membership we can’t afford at this time. The response we get is that I must be moving, or have long term health conditions that prevent me physically from utilizing a gym and a Dr. note to confirm this. I honestly think this is ridiculous being that I cannot afford to make monthly payments and I am not using the facilities so why am I being charged? I simply don’t think it’s professional of them to continue to take payments from people that will no longer come into their facilities. Especially during these hard times.

Fantastic experience: Has a large number of exercise machines, weights & equipment, including boxer's punching bag, floor mats, balls, stretch bands, stepping stools, etc. It also has a spacious, mirrored wood floor room for any use - floor exercises, weights, stretching. I have to do primarily physical therapy exercises and it's perfect. Love that it's 24/7 with an electronic key entry only.

Negative experience: Had a really bad experience at this location. I was on the stair master and my earpod fell into the machine. When I called I spoke to a young lady and I let her know what happened. She said she didn’t see anything. I had to go on my lunch break and she was very rude I asked her to stop talking to me like that. I started calling other locations to help me speak to corporate and when she saw I was calling that’s when she found my earpod. This issue could of been prevented if they did their job. I’m really upset and the owner of this location won’t even reach out to me. I believe this young girl was trying to steal.
Negative experience: The facility is nice and clean but nothing really gets upgraded. Most importantly, the owners are unreachable. If you call the employees, they tell you that only the owners can help you with certain issues with your membership. I emailed the owners and have been calling for almost a week and they still haven't had time to talk to me. Its a good gym if you don't care about charges and are just going to go use it. But be conscious that, if there are any issues with your membership, or if you want to cancel, the owners will avoid talking to you.
Positive experience: Exercise machines are maintained well. Gym is seldom crowded. Smaller workout space with wood floor studio which includes boxing equipment, bosu balance balls, ropes, kettle bells.

Negative experience: Management lacks knowledge of company policies and membership details. Wasted my time and money stopping in at this location to ask some questions about a 7 day/30$ membership. I was told by Sondai, the manager, that this would allow me access ro all locations even during unstaffed hours. Knowing my situation fully(traveling to Cali on Marine Corps orders), and understanding that I was looking for a gym to work out at during my traveling over the course of 3 days, she still sold me the membership...only to find out that I had wasted my $30 completely. The access key that was given to me did not grant me access to any other locations. When I spoke to a manager from a different location she was astonished that the manager, Sondai, even sold it to me given my situation and told me to ask for a full refund. I did, respectfully contact the owner, named Ira...explained everything and asked for a refund. Instead of the owner holding her manager accountable and refunding my money, I received a response saying that I'm not eligible for a refund along with some other membership offers. I could tell that she had zero regard for the people that keep her bills paid and knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with her. The incompetence would have just kept coming so I took the loss. But there's too many other gyms out there with quality ownership to have to deal with things like this. Big thumbs down
